MicroSD problem

Okay..err.. I have Nokia 5220 with a 2GB MicroSD card.
Last night i was trying to download some games for my mobile.
So i downloaded this game and the phone just got stuck. The phone couldn't restart until I took the card out.
I put the card in my PC...my PC doesn't read it too.
Is there anything i can do ?
Can the shop replace this ? (I bought the phone + memory card a month ago)

Nokia 3110 microSD problem

Hi i have a problem with my nokia 3110 classic.
I have a microSD card that worked just fine for 3 days after that i turned my phone off and when i wanted to start it i get the nokia logo the menu appears and then restarts again this is does for 5 times then the phone is off again. I just can't start my phone now. I tried diferent microSD cards and the same problem.
What could i do ?
my microSD is Kinsgton 1G but as i said the problem is the same with different microSD's.
If i take out my microSD the phone starts ok. And it worked for 3 days like. It is possible to have a virus or something ? And another thing how can i rewrite my software ( i have the latest version instaled but mabye a software rewrite will make the phone work ok)

I also have this problem. Phones4u denied they sold any phone with a generic fault. From this forum it seems they are definately wrong.
I just can't be bothered to go into a care centre to get a line a lies about how I am doing something wrong. They said I needed a nokia card. I got one and it still did not work. They suck.
It is not on when you invest 60 pounds in a phone that has these functions and they turn out not to work. They should automatically refund you if a forum has been shown to demonstrate a fault is common.
I will not be buying nokia again. The ringer is also very quiet and does not wake me when someone calls. My cheap nokia had a deafening ring. They concentrate on all these frills and miss the basics.
I hope the iPhone torpedos them out of the water!

Zylo and MicroSD problem

hy Sony Ericsson Community i have purchased a Sony Ericsson Zyle a month ago and a 4 gb memory card and once a week my memory card formates alone or the files become invalid with a folder form and a name unknown i will atach some photos inside music or photo folder on memory card, with files inside phone memory i have no problems, i have latest software updated...sometimes when i insert my memory card the phone restarts alone or when i listen 20 sec music again restarts the solving for me is to format memory card once a week and put all dates back what can i do to solve this problem ?

If you are formatting the memory card in the phone, you could try formatting it on the PC with a USB card reader in FAT 32 mode.Otherwise, it may be a faulty card, so you would need to have it replaced.You can also try using the card in a different phone and see if it behaves in the same way.

3250 microSD problem

i bought this phone second hand off a friend and i just bought a 1GB 'A-data' microSD card and put it into the slot, but it appears not to have detected it. When i try to access the now present microSD card in Organiser or use it in any form it does not show up and is exactly the same as before the microSD was in the phone.

If you got a microSD to SD converter see if the card works in a computer with a card reader. Try to format it on the computer then.

E71 MicroSD problem

Yesterday (21 Nov) between 0800-1600 hrs lost the following from my SD card in my E71: all Quickoffice docs (word, spreadsheet, pdf including a copy of the E71 manual), Google maps, Yahoo news, Youtube, Worldmate, SPD TV although the application manager said all were still installed not one was to be found. Logs showed they were installed and used, but the applications and documents are gone. Logged into/connected to computer (Win7) and could not find those documents/files anywhere on the Micro disk. Did not upgrade, but only used the phone to make a couple calls, take one picture and send it and downloaded a couple of podcasts to listen to. As a Sunday do not expect any service update from my provider and no log showed any such update (E71 not fully supported, but got it working and has worked fine for the past 15 months). 400 level firmware. Interestingly with the E71 connected to the computer - OVI maps (3.03) worked for the first time in months - error message was that with the Micro card locked it would have to use the phone - all locations were viewable etc. Normally OVI maps just flicks on and off - does nothing which is why loaded Google maps which has worked well. Also logged into a Linux computer to see if would see anything different on the card - just saw more logs and data in the private section. If no ideas, will have to reload some data via the backups.

remove the sim card and check if the phone sees the micro SD.
I have the same problem.
If the phones sees the memory card with no sim in it, then you are facing the same problem as me.
The solution that i found is the decrease the thikness of my sim and it worked.

E90 microSD problem

Hey everybody.
I have had an E90 and decided that i need a new one.I took from old a 2gb memory card put it into a new E90 and now it's asking me to enter a memory card password.
I haven't set any passwords.
I have lots of important info on it.
How can i solve the problem without formatting the card?

Can you still read the card when it is in the old phone?
You can try using the "Data Transfer" mode to copy the files off the memory chip through the old phone to your PC.
If your old phone cannot read the chip then, perhaps, the memory chip has gone bad... unless you did secure the chip.

6500 microsd problem?

I have microSD nokia card in my 6500 Slide phone 256mb..
The card seems to be inserted correctly..
But how do I use the card? When I goto camera settings I change the place to save the photos/videos to the card, but when I go back to the camera it always goes to phone memory?? How do I use the microSD??? Help??

NONAME is your memory card, if it is only showing intermittently, then it could be a simple software fault which might be cured by a software update so you could try that, but it is more likely to be a hardware issue with the card or with the phone's card reader, in which case taking the phone to a Nokia service point.
There was some time ago a fault with the memory cards on the 6500 Slide caused by the battery cover not making contact with the circuit board (the phone musst be confirmed closed for the card to work), so it is possible that you have been sold one of these early models, but this issue can be fixed under warranty.

Nokia 5200, microsd problems

I tried putting my micro sd card into my nokia 5200 and when i try to ope the card it says its is not formatted. I have put it in my computer and formatted the card and it still says the same thign. Can anyone help please ??

E52 and 16GB microSD problems

I've just put a new 16GB card in my E52, and when i check the card, it say that there are about the 15-16 GB free. But when i D/L the Ovi map, and countries, i can only D/L about 1 GB maps, then i get prompt for the card is full. There is about 628 MB mem in use, about 628 MB other files, and about 14 GB free. What do I do wrong ?

MicroSD Card problem

When I put my microsd card my HP does not seem to recognize it. I tried inserting the microsd card into my family's desktop computer (a lenovo running an AMD processor) and it read the card and opened it automatically. Is there a specific driver update that I need to get for microsd cards?

MicroSD cashing problem with Symbian belle update

It’s only been 14 hours since I have updated to Symbian Belle, but after a short period of usage I noticed that my music would lag for 0.5 - 3 seconds, sometimes once, sometimes a couple of times a song.
My song library was located on my MicroSD 16GB class2 card that has worked in this N8-00 for the full 1.5 years that I have it. I now have formatted the internal and external drives and put in the same one folder of music. I listened to the songs and what I found out is that the songs on my MicroSD are acting up. The phone completely locks up for 0.5 - 3 seconds and continues. Its seems to happen moor to songs with an higher than 256kbps bitrate.
My problem with this BUG, is that it now happends with the update to Bella, and not to Anna or befor, therefor concluding that the software is not optimized as much for MicroSD card use.
Have you have the same problem since Belle, using an N8 or other device? Please post below.

Well, I can definitely confirm that the Belle update is available for your product code. Other users facing the same issue mentioned that they had to un-install Nokia suite and re-install a fresh copy. You may also need to disable any firewall active on your PC (try this first before re-installing Nokia Suite).

Android 4.0 does in general allow some apps to be moved to the SD card. However, on the A1107, this functionality seems to not work for me either - I'm not sure if this is a bug in the A1107 ROM. When I attempt to move an app to the SD card, the following pops out of the logcat:

As far as I can tell, what happens when an app is moved to the SD card is this:
1. Android creates a file on the SD card for containing the app and its data
2. This file is "formatted" with a filesystem for the app and its data
3. The Android system mounts this new filesystem through a loopback device, which is a special device used in Linux and Android for treating a file like a disk.
4. The contents of the app's container on the internal storage are copied to the loopback-mounted file on the SD card.
5. The app container on the internal storage is deleted, and any links to the app are updated to point to the external SD card file.
Step 3 seems to be failing - the loopback device exists though, so I'm not sure what the problem is.
Summary: although moving apps to SD can be supported on Android 4.0, it isn't supported on the A1107.

E6 problem with microSD

I have bougt microSD 32GB 4C Transcend.
But card is doesnˇt work.
I have read in instruction, that my phone is compatibile with 32GB microSD.
Card was formated inside the phone. But problem is only sometimes is functionaly.
I have problem with open the pictures, datas and videos.
Card is ok, in my notebook is working without problem.
What I can do?

Microsd card problems

Hi. My blackberry pearl 8120 had been reading the microsd card fine until I connected it to my computer last week to transfer some pictures. Now the blackberry won't read the sd card and my computer won't even pick up my blackberry, with or wothout the sd card in it! Any ideas?

We'll need to seperate the issues. 1) your phone does not read the mSD card 2) your PC does not does not detect your BB
Please attempt the following to check one of the options on the your Smartphone:
To go "Options" > "Media Card" > and ensure "Mass Storage Mode Support" is turned "On"
This may resolve both issues, but if you are still unable to connect your BB with your PC you may want to try the following: attempt another USB port and the uninstal and reinstalltion of the Blackberry Desktop and Device softwares.

Problem in MicroSD

Hello folks!
Yesterday i experienced something really weird... took out MicroSD from handset 3250, trough the option "extract memory card"... nothing wrong. Put it onto Motorola ROKR W5 and everything was good, but when i turn off the cellphone (that's what i thought), i retired the MicroSD, i heard a "beep", then i realize that the device was not completly turned off. It was in the middle of the process when i took out the card. Due to that, i lost all my data stored in there(music,photos,videos,applications,themes,games,etc.)with the exception of one application: F-Secure (a kind of anti-virus).
Well, i was not so worried because is not so important data and i can get it back, not big deal.
Now the thing is that when i try to install all the applications and data like themes and games, the handset shows me a warning message saying: "This application already exist. Do you wan to replace this version Vxx for Vxx?"
If i already made format in the cellphone, why this message should appear? Besides, some aplications like "Snakes" (that was erased as well) when i installed again, has the same records and the same levels. It's like never dissapear!!!
Now when i try to install "Web" (that was installed before lost data) a message appears saying: "Update Error!" and does not allow me to install.
After this explanation i want to know why this happen? why the device detects the applications like they were still there?
Very confused!
NOTE: is 1GB card NOKIA Branded. All my applications were stored there.

Unfortunately, there is no way to recover the password in the S60 3rd Edition phones like the N95. The only way that I know so far is by reformatting the memory card. Of course, by doing this you will lose all of the data stored in the memory card.
