Microsoft Error Reporting

Cant open Office, or office files, even after re-istall of Office 2008. Keep getting Microsoft Error Reporting message box.

Is a Trial version of Office also installed? That can cause problems if you install the full version with the trial still in place.

Has anyone had this problem after upgrading? I am assuming it has something to do with Lion since the problem only starting after upgrading but I don't know for sure. Also whenever I open up word it pulls up all the windows I had up before I closed it. It isn't a functional problem just super annoying. Thanks in advance to anyone who can offer any suggestions!

I have had the issue prior to installing Lion (which I now have done). I have yet to find an answer. I cannot even get it to open for longer than a few seconds never mind quitting and receiving the error.

How can I fix the Microsoft Error Reporting?

I don't remember this problem occurring so often with OS X 10.5. Frequently (approximately 8 times out of 10), when I try to shut down the computer, I get the error message "The application Microsoft Error Reporting canceled shut down". This problem occurs with my MacBook (that I mostly use), but also with my iMac. A subsequent box says: "Microsoft Word has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience". I then usually click the button to send a report to Microsoft and shut down my computer. I have tried disk utility's repair permissions, but the problem still carries on.
I've ignored this for a while, because it just takes a couple of extra clicks to shut down. I also thought the next Microsoft update would solve it (I have version 12.2.5), but - no change. I hope it's not some kind of Microsoft virus...

Thank you for the link. The problem is solved now. Word cancelling shut down was caused by EndNote's "cite while you write" function. I've disabled it now and Word works fine.

Successful installation ( apparently) but everytime we try to open Editor we get Microsoft Error Report .. "we have to close".

If your startup disk says it is full, you need to remove some of your stuff.
Either move some documents/movies/pictures to an external drive (if you want to keep them), or delete them from your startup drive. Then, empty the Trash.
If you move them to an external, you will still have to delete them from the internal drive.
That won't fix Office (I don't think), but it will make everything run better. You need a minimum of 10GB free (more would be better).
You might need to reinstall Office. It should work without problem (well, at least as little problem as Office can muster).

Getting a microsoft error report when trying to run Quicktime

I have dell laptop which has windows XP. I was not able to run Itunes because I got an error that said that microsoft has encountered an error and i choose to send an error report or not. so i uninstalled and reinstalled itunes and quicktime with no avail. After going these forums, I uninstalled itunes and only installed the quicktime standalone player and i get the same error which tells me the problem is with quicktime. I tried all the stuff on the forum but cannot get quicktime to work which then means I cant get itunes to work which totally *****! any ideas? I wish Apple had a phone/chat support like dell.

I am also having this issue with a new Dell laptop which runs Windows XP tablet edition. I have tried installing QT 7.5.5 twice, and even installing an older version (7.1.6). Every time I try to open QT I get a brief error message on the screen after which it crashes and restarts the system....very frustrating....

ITunes & microsoft error report

I have tried opening my iTunes today and it comes up error report, needs to be sent to microsoft for the redoing of. Does anyone know how long it will take for it to work, my brother was on last night and it worked fine for him but now mine won't work. I have the newest update in which i want to put on my iPod but it willnot work unless itunes is working! Help!

I have tried that, to restarting the computer, to trying to see if someone else's iTunes work, and it's capute. I just don't know what to do execpt for to try to find which programs have been discontinued on the computer but forgot how to get there.

My Office for Mac keeps getting "Error Reporting" and I find it very hard to open without it closing and "Error Report" I even went through Microsoft support and look for the plist file and keep it on my desktop which solves the problem temporarily.

If you have photos in your Photo Stream that you want to save to your iPad, you can save them to your Camera Roll using this method:
Manage My Photo Stream contents. In the My Photo Stream album, tap Select.
Share, print, copy, or save photos to your Camera Roll album: Select the photos, then tap .

My Microsoft Word gives me an error report as soon as I try to open Word Document

I have the Microsoft Word for Mac 2011 and I've had it for almost 3 years now. I didn't have any problems until I decided to update it since I haven't done so when I installed Microsoft on my Macbook pro. After about 3 or 4 updates I started having difficulties when it suddenly gives me an error once I tried creating a new document that says: "Microsoft Word has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." and underneath it says More Information so I clicked on it and this is what it gave me:

I clicked on check for updates just in case I missed any, but it says there's no updates available. Also, I restarted my computer twice and it still doesn't work. Did the updates messed it up? I really need to fix this problem soon because I'm going to need Word for school. Please and thank you!

Try opening Activity Monitor. MS Error Reporting should be one of the running activities. Select and quit--on my Mac I had to do a force quit and that got rid of it.
