Midland-advice/discrepancy

Hi,  I just pulled one of my annual reports, and I noticed that Midland was reporting my DOFD a month or so after what the OC had reported. What would you do in this situation to get it removed? I would love to clear my report of Midland. Recently, they had sent a letter offering a settlement but also stated that they could not sue me for it. If the DOFD is in 2009, how should I tackle this? Thanks!

I would not dispute it as it wont remove it they would just update the DoFD and bring the status date current resulting in a Fico score drop if its not been updating monthly already.   • Discrepency of GR and IR quantity.

    Hi,
    in the event if the GR and IR quantity is different, my users are using MR11 to "clear-off" the discrepency amount. However, understand that the posting will be made to the Inventory G/L account.
    Is there a way which the "clear-off" can be posting to another expense G/L account?

    Result of MR11 will not hit Inventory accounts. it will take PRD account. Mean to say Open item in WRX will setoff at PRD account. You have 3 account modifier for PRD.
    PRF for goods receipts against production orders and
    order settlement
    PRA for goods issues and other movements
    PRU for transfer postings (price differences in the case
    of external amounts)
    Mainatin GL accounts as per your requirement in OBYC with these combination

  • Forum discrepancy: how to FTP iWeb to Godaddy once and for all!

    I've been lurking on the forum and getting all sorts of good advice. Thank you everyone who posts here!
    However, I've noticed a discrepancy about FTP'ing to Godaddy with authoritative advice-givers on both sides of the issue.
    Here's the issue:
    When you publish to a folder in iWeb, iWeb generates two top level documents: an index.html file and a folder named Site (by default, or whatever you may have renamed it in iWeb as your "site."). The index.html file also appears to be contained inside the Site folder along with all the other docs pertaining to your website.
    The question is:
    Which is better, to FTP both documents to the server, the index.html file and the Site folder, OR just the contents of the Site folder (and ignore the top level index.html file)?
    There are multiple recommendations in this forum for both answers.

    If I understand it correctly, a benefit of uploading both is proper RSS notification. Is this correct and how important is this? Are there any other benefits or is this the only one?
    On the other hand, the benefit of uploading the content of the Site folder only is that the resulting URLs do not include the word "Site" (or whatever you've substituted for it), following your domain name, and before your page names.
    In my opinion, the website looks more professional and clean without the word "site" following the domain name and before the page name, so I'd therefore rather upload the contents of the Site folder and not the Site folder + the index.html document.
    So... if I continue doing it this way, is there any serious drawback, or would this be the way to get the most professional-looking results hosting an iWeb site on Godaddy?

    I always say that it is not the url of a site that makes it professional or not, it is the content and the design. When I look at a site, I always look at the content and the design and then decide, I don't immediately look at the url. If you really don't like the word site, then change your site name to something more applicable to your site. I named mine the first 3 letters of the title and it looks a whole lot better than site and I am happy with it.
    Remember that old adage never judge a book by its cover, well the same applies here, never judge a web site by its url!!
    Arguably a website is the "book cover" for whatever company, organization, or person it is about. However, I don't want to derail the topic into a discussion of whether a URL matters. For those for whom it matters, it matters, and for those for whom it doesn't, it doesn't!
    For me, it matters not because I care, but because I anticipate some of my visitors will care. So if I can serve up a professional-looking URL by uploading the contents of the folder rather than the folder itself, are there any compelling reasons, aside from not pandering to the superficiality of humanity, for doing it any other way?

  • Time Machine backup size discrepancy

    Apologies if this has already been answered, but I just did my first Time Machine backup to a new external HD and when I compared the amount of data on the Time Machine drive to the internal HD I backed up, it's about 7 GB smaller (149 GB vs. 156 GB). Is it normal to have a discrepancy in the initial backup file like this? I didn't exclude anything on the internal drive from the backup. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

    yes, they could although it's somewhat uncommon. swap files are in /var/vm. DO NOT delete those by hand. restarting the computer will reset them to the default size. sleepimage is in the same directory too. you can delete that one but if you have safe sleep enabled then it will be recreated next time you sleep the computer. also check your Trash size.
    account for that big a difference, and if not, should I be worried that my TM backup is incomplete?
    no, I wouldn't worry about that. check your TM exclusion list in TM system preferences->options. if nothing is on it and nothing is obviously missing you should be fine. but i would be worried about having a lot of stuff that's abnormally large and takes away space. for example, if it's the swap files that take so much space it means that you need more RAM.

  • Work and training advice

    First of all i hope this post is acceptable in this General forum, I could not find work/training advice thread.
    Last year i started working for an Automotive company who were changing there PLM systems and integrating SAP
    First of all i started working integrating and changing all of the company part numbers, updating drawings and getting supplier agreements and sign offs.
    The next part of the project i became lead co-ordinator, having no previous knowledge of the company systems including SAP. I processed over 180,000 parts working these changes throughout the whole company, liasing with department heads and pushing through these changes and then cleaning errors and order testing and ensuring staff were trained as i went through every department right up to go ive and completion i became the focus for this implementation.
    The project was a resounding success, on time and on budget and was very very enjoyable, I think i used just about every module an Automotive company would ever need along with a steep learning curve with both sap and how this business operates a vast amount of knowledge was absorbed, used and distributed in a short period of time. Taking the company and changing everything, basically making the company start from scratch made this project very exciting.
    I would love to do this again, or get involved in a similar project, and feel i need to get certified, or do i? this project involved
    no scripting, no programming, no installations - just learning SAP and other systems and ploughing through and changing
    everything.
    What sort of role should i be looking for, and what sort of training/certification would benefit the progression of my career
    any help would be appreciated, along with contact information for training/work in the midlands area (UK)

  • Memory discrepancy

    Can anyone help. Since installing latest version of itunes, (7.0.1), my itunes music library seems to be taking up much more space. I have the music saved in windows also which is a folder of 47GB, but the itunes folder says it is 85GB. The two folders should be the same as I simply imported into itunes from the windows folder. I now cannot fit all my music on my ipod - very annoying. Any advice appreciated.

    Some people save space by not having artwork on the iPod. Your space discrepency seems a little excessive to me though. I have ~42GB of music, 2GB of video and 800MB other. The other is album art.
    Other iPod memory uses are imported pictures, outlook calender or contact data.

  • IPhone 4 audio capacity discrepancy

    my iPhone 4 "capacity bar" (displayed when the phone is plugged into itunes) says that i have 10.6 GB of audio, but i only have 8.7 GB of audio in my itunes library, which is synced with my iPhone 4
    why is there a discrepancy of almost 2 GB?
    i only have 500mb of album artwork, and have no podcasts, movies, audiobooks, or TV in my library
    i have 6 music videos and 80 applications, but they are each apportioned there own "capacity section" within the iphones "capacity bar" and therefore do not account for the massive increase
    what is even more confusing is that if i click on the little arrow next to the iphone under "devices" and highlight "music", the audio figure matches perfectly with the 8.7 GB figure from the itunes library - so why then does the capacity bar say a completely different figure.
    does anyone else experience this?
    i am using itunes 10.0.1 and have iOS 4.1 installed on my phone

    Thanks - I should have included more detail, let me explain further. When I play music from my iphone 4 through my car stereo, either through the auxiliary setting using a headphone jack, or through the wireless bluetooth setting, only the right channel plays. Same thing when I play through headphones - only the right channel plays. Didn't use to happen, and I haven't dropped the phone or damaged it in any way. I can't find any settings to adjust as far as right or left channels. I've read where some think it could be the headphone jack, but that wouldn't explain the problem happening through bluetooth also.
    I've tested other iphone 4's both ways in my car, and they play through both channels. The car radio also plays through both channels. Any ideas?

  • DPS Analytics Query - Any Advice?

    Can anyone offer insight into why the Folio download data within DPS Analytics differs so greatly to the App Download data within AppFigures? I understand the differences in data collection between the two and I get that the metrics are unlikely to ever match 100% but what I don't understand is why AppFigures tells me I have 1042 App downloads and DPS Analytics tells me I only have 347 folio downloads? Surely such a discrepancy has a valid explanation other than excluding download to desktop from iTunes and failure to successfully launch? Any advice or recommendation would be hugely appreciated.

    I'm definitely not an expert in this area, but keep in mind:
    1) Users may start your app downloading then move on to other things and forget about it. I know I've done this with apps numerous times.
    2) They may see they have to download the free folio, start the download, navigate away from the app, and then forget about it. I believe this is what Johannes means when he says it's the "biggest problem" with multi-folio apps.
    3) We'll only report a folio download once the full folio has been downloaded. It's possible that your users are starting the folio download, viewing the folio as soon as enough has come down to open it (but not the full folio), then leaving the app. If they don't continue the download that partial download won't be reflected in your totals.

    I have an Oracle procedure that rebuilds the index and a java application that calls the procedure. I don�t pass any timestamp at all, I just tell it to start and how long (approx) to run and then post the results in the GUI. When I run the procedure in the Oracle SQL Developer the start time is correct, however, when I run the same procedure though my Java Swing app the time stamp is 4 hours ahead of the current time. This confuses the users and is driving me nuts! The DB and the application are on one machine so there shouldnt be a time discrepancy. Any advice on how get Oracle to give Java the right time?

    Thanks for your help, it got me going in the right direction. It appears that since I'm using an older version of the JDBC driver (the app I�m working on is about 6 years old), there is a discrepancy in time zones. This issue was fixed in version 11 of the JDBC driver. Here�s the code that fixed it:

  • I was given some advice here to restore my macbook OS that was having a glitch I now realize was nothing, by sliding in the original OSX disk at start up and holding the C key down?

    So now my problem is herindous, my mac is crashed and it says I need to click repair disk if repair fails back up and erase the disc?
    I have limited access to anything and would like to know how to back it up if possible, I have bought a 500G seagate, but nothing seems to be working
    I have the snow leopard disc in it and it is open with Disc Utility, the repair disc did not work so I need to back up and erase, BUT HOW?
    Please any one with some competence as far as knowing what they are talking about so I can get off this DELL Windows laptop, It's miserable!
    Please good reliable advice needed with step by step blows for recovery, I have the MAC OS X Installer  open showing both the Macintosh HD and the FreeAge Drive side by side,
    Can I just load the Snow Leopard on the Freeagent and operate my computer like that to get by?

    Thinking closer about the way you worded it I dont think I actually booted of the disk, rather just able to access (Mac OS X Installer) that further allows me to access through clicking on (Utilities),
    (Disc Utility). With it open to begin the (Erase) of the free agent drive,
    I click on (erase) and the options open to be chosen of Format:
    included in those options I don't have what you listed for me to choose, the available options are:
    Mac OS Extended (journaled)
    Mac OS Extended
    Mac OS Extended (Case-sensitave,journaled)
    Mac OS Extended (Case-sensitave)
    MS-DOS (FAT)
    And under that is a space for Name: and it could be anything of my choise it by default automatically put in (FREEAGENT G)
    fURTHER DOWN AVAILABLE OPTIONS TO CLICK ON ARE
    Securiety Options: That compile 4 ranging from Don't Erase Data / to a 35-Pass Zero Out Data
    And finally the slightly smaller space available for me to click on that says (ERASE....) and it starts the scrub I figure.
    Now that would be the first part of two I would need to complete to hopefully get off this Dell from Windows Haties!
    Step 2) It would be nice if I could just drag the Mac OS x install DVD to the FreeAgent and it would load it, and maybe it's possible?? I know everything about nothing! Famously.
    But the next possible options back in (DISC Utility) when I am clicked on (The install DVD) are first aid,   erase,   and  Restore
    Then other options open to click on depending on what is chosen?
    I am sorry to be so handy cap needy, with my long history of (if there is anything worse that can happen it will happen to me) as it does and I have to accept the fact It can always be worse!   • Multiple device syncing advice needed and appreciated.

    I need some advice from you Apple lovers out there if you can spend some time replying.  Thanks alot in advanced
    My devices and current status
    13" Macbook Pro with 8gig RAM with lion OS - Mosty used for word processing, DJing, low Internet usage now that i have Ipad, photo management, DVD ripping etc etc - i use this as my main device to organise emails and i purchase most apps, music and films on this device too
    Ipad2 - Mostly for media content, web browsing, Youtube, playing games, FB, watching films. I use this device for fun not functionality or work related things
    Iphone 4 - Usual phone usage, I use my phone as my main device for iCal, contacts, checking emails/messages on the move
    2GB time capsule - brand new in the box as yet unused
    Generally speaking i get confused or change my mind frequently about what to sync to which device, i started off using icloud but then things got confusing and i had things real messed up, multiple same contacts, apps on differnet device, differnet music on all 3 devices so now for the moment i think of my Macbook as the main device with both my iphone and ipad backed up to the Macbook. I then back up all of this on a regular 500g external Hard Drive.
    So my questions are as follows
    1. Can and should i use icloud to back up my devices and if so how should i do this effectivly
    2. What syncing procedure would suit me best
    3. How should i integrate Timecapsule to my devices
    Any other suggestions would really be apreciated

    Yes. Since both are connected by "Ethernet" each base station is its own wireless network and you have a few options on how best to configure them.
    One of those options is to give both wireless networks the same Network Name (or SSID) so that you can, for example, "walk" a laptop from one to the other and stay connected. This is known as a roaming network.
    If this is something that you don't desire or have a requirement for, then leaving them as two separate wireless networks would work just as well.
    So what i am asking - i guess - is can i increase the distance the wifi signal reaches of the second unit (the time capsule - that is wired to the airport extreme)
    To extend the wireless range of the Time Capsule (TC) you would need another 802.11n AirPort, like the AirPort Express Base Station (AXn). This should get a stronger signal out to the garden. Of course, it would really depend on the distance from the TC to where you would like to place the AXn to get the best results.
    Let me know if you need help configuring the base stations.

  • Lenovo Z710 - Major Performanc​e Problems - Expert Advice Needed

    Three months ago I bought Lenovo Z710 laptop.
    Here are some system properties:
    Intel Core i7 4700MQ CPU @ 2.40 GHz,
    8GB RAM
    Hybrid 1TB + SSHD(8G),
    NVIDIA GeForce GT 740M / 2 GB,
    DVD-R,
    Win 8.1
    After using the device for 3 months I can't describe with words how dissapointed I am.
    It is unbelievably slow. The device with this configuration should do very easily hard things.
    However, I have troubles doning even simple things. 
    For example, currently I am only browsing web and listening music from youtube.
    Opening a new web page in Chrome takes 30-40 seconds. Opening a new tab takes aprox. 10 seconds.
    Selecting a text and copying it, takes 15 seconds. It is even very frustrating to type even a web address because of the obvious delay in typing. Furthermore, when I listen to music there is also a delay - that makes even listening to music unbelievably frustrating. Just to mention one more time - I only have chrome running!
    I have 2 Partitions - C disk (442 GB) and disk D (488 GB).
    On disk C I installed Win 8.1. and at the moment on disk C 391 GB are free.
    I use disk D is mostly intended for storing images, movies, and music. On this disk 258 GB are free.
    Regarding the programs I installed on top of Windows, here is the list: micro Torrent, Adobe Photoshop, Android SDK Tools, Android studio, Avast Internet Security, Brackets, Corona SDK, Dropbox, Foxit Cloud, Foxit Reader, Chrome, Greenshot, MS Office, Mozilla, Skype, Notepad, VLC Player, WinRAR, XAMPP.
    When I open Task Manager I see that used CPU resources are aprox. 10%, Memory aprox 35%, Disk 2%, Network 5%.
    I am the only user of the device.
    In Task manager I read that only Chrome takes the most of the resources taking 130 MB memory.
    So why is the device with 4 physical i7 Intel processory and 8 GB SSD so slow, that I can't even type without disturbance with delays?
    I don't understand how the device with mentioned hardware can be so slow.
    And regarding the software, I don't understand whtat could slow the device - I mentiond what programs were installed and to what extent are resorurces being used.
    Please give me your advice on what else can I check and what shoudl I do.

    Can you run a system health check once and see if anything is flagged? To do so,
    1. Press the + R keys to open the Run dialog, type perfmon, and click/tap on OK.
    2. If prompted by UAC, click/tap on Yes.
    3. In the left pane of Performance Monitor, click/tap on Data Collector Sets to expand it, click/tap on System to expand it, right click on System Diagnostics, and click on Start. (see screenshot below)
    4. It will collect data for 60 seconds before the system diagnostics report will be ready to view instep 3 of OPTION TWO below.

  • I have an older 8GB iPod Touch no longer supported by tech. It is locked up in "Restore" mode and fails to respond to 2-button reset. I get the apple logo and then it pos back to the cord and disc icon for restore. Any advice?

    Check for hardware issues
    Related errors: 1, 3, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 16, 20, 21, 23, 26, 27, 28, 29, 34, 35, 36, 37, 40, 1000, 1002, 1004, 1011, 1012, 1014, 1667, or 1669.
    These errors mean that your device or computer may have a hardware issue that's preventing the update or restore from completing.
    Check that your security software and settings aren't preventing your device from communicating with the Apple update server.
    Then try to restore your iOS device two more times while connected with a cable, computer, and network you know are good.
    Confirm that your security software and settings are allowing communication between your device and update servers.
    If you still see the error message when you update or restore, contact Apple support.
