Migrating VSS VSL to Different Ports
Alright all ye experts, I have a situation I'm hoping to pick your brains on. Here's the setup: Two 4510R+E with Sup7Es in a remote campus running VSS. The VSL for the VSS was configured on two of the 10Gb ports off of the supervisor (in a port-channel). The issue is that when I perform a failover and the supervisor reloads, the VSL drops and all of the line cards in that chassis drop until the VSL comes back up.
I'm thinking that if I move the VSL to the line cards it will separate the management plane/card from the data plane so when I perform an upgrade or have to fail over (for some reason) the line cards will remain up as the VSL will not be affected. The biggest challenge I'm up against is that the line cards are 1Gb and the ports for the VSL are 10Gb - thus I'm not able to just add ports to the port channel and migrate that way. Does anyone know if two VSLs can be run within the VSS environment? This would make the transition easier otherwise I'll need to bring down the VSL in order to move it.
I forgot to mention that this is a small regional hospital so there really is no good time for a "downtime", but if it needs to happen it needs to happen.
Thanks all!
In Catalyst 4500 VSS, the linecards will reset if the Supervisor reload. Hence when you do the switchover from Active VSS chassis to Standby VSS chassis, the Supervisor and linecards in previous Active chassis will reload and your VSL link will go down.
So moving the VSL link to ports on linecard will not help here.
With Catalyst 4500 VSS, you cannot have both chassis forwarding traffic at the time of VSS failover.
Moreover as Sharieff answered, you cannot have two VSL portchannel in a VSS system.

Problem when we created the managed server to configure different ports.
I am trying to configure different ports for admin console and my communication service as we can’t share admin port to the outside world.
So that only admin can access admin console using admin port.
And out side clients can access my webapplication using different port.
For this i have created the managed server in weblogic.and I deployed the application on managed server.
Now admin server is running on 8001 port and my Communication Service application is running on 7001 port.
But when I tried to configure MBeans related to myCommunicationServiceApplication those were disapper on admin console. And the other wlng services are appearing on admin console.
1. Since my application deployed on managed server MBeans registration happened from myapplication hence it’s disappear on admin console.
Now If I want to configure Mbeans (related to my communication service) how can I configure it?
2. My communication service using configurationStore module and other wlng services.
When I tried to start my application on managed server I got the below error:
<Apr 28, 2009 12:22:44 PM IST> <Error> <Deployer> <BEA-149231> <dscp11166.TechMahindra.com> <Unable to set the activation state to true for the application 'wlng_nt_qualcomm_active_mediation [Version=1.0]'.
com.bea.wlcp.wlng.api.storage.configuration.ConfigurationException: Configuration store module is not available.
3. I tried to target all wlngResources to manged server by editing config.xml file.
Then all wlng services disappears on admin console. If this is the case how can I configure container/account services on wlng?
I have created the Basicweblogic domain.
Below is the config.xml for reference.
"QualcommServer" is managed server name.
Can any one please suggest me how to configure this kind of scenarios?

Thanks,
Srinu Babu PDear Nariharan,
Today I faced a simlar issue, and this SAP Note helped me fix it: 1966807 - Duplication of AET table records in change processing
In my case, cardinality of AET table was 1:1, and I was getting duplicate PARENT_ID every time when trying to create a subsequent service request for my activity.

OHS not able to redirect to two different ports of the same managed server
Hi
I need to redirect to different ports of the same managed server (say M1, M2) based on the availability of the managed server. ie when managed server M1 is busy handling other requests i need to redirect my new request to M2. i already have this mechanism to find out which managed server is free.
so now the problem is if M2 is free how would i tell ohs to redirect it to M2 server??
M1,M2 both managed servers are hosted at host1.example.com.
M1 port - 8001
M2 port - 8003
my context root is /YpsSupplyPlanningEngineService/supplyPlanningEngineService
my mod_wl_ohs.conf is defined as:
<Location /M1/YpsSupplyPlanningEngineService/supplyPlanningEngineService>
SetHandler weblogic-handler
PathTrim /M1
WebLogicHost host1.example.com
WebLogicPort 8001
</Location>
<Location /M2/YpsSupplyPlanningEngineService/supplyPlanningEngineService>
SetHandler weblogic-handler
PathTrim /M2
WebLogicHost host1.example.com
WebLogicPort 8003
</Location>
when i type the url in browser as "http://<ohs_server_url>:7777/M2/YpsSupplyPlanningEngineService/supplyPlanningEngineService"
This is not working. Is there any way to do it?
Please help me here.
Thanks in advance.

thanks for replying..
Chnage from /M1 to M1 didnt work.
then I set debug ALL and set WLLogFile to full path

How to use the same OC4j server with different port number
How to use the same OC4j server with different port numbers..?
I have to OC4J installed on my machine on different hard disk drives....
I want to be able to run both the server simultaneously..?
is it possible ..it yes then how..?
for that i have changed the port number of one server...
but when i am trying to start the other server with different port number..it says that JVM -Bind already...
Is there any clues...?
Nilesh GIn the config directory:
default-web-site.xml: Change the port the HTTP listener listens on
jms.xml: Change the port the JMS service listens on
rmi.xml: Change the port the ORMI listener listens on.
Or, you can add another web-site.xml file, and deploy your applications to 1 server, and bind the web applications to the different web sites. This way you only have to deploy your applications to 1 place.

Bug with using 2 certificates on a different port on the same machine
There seems to be an issue with using secure connection to the same web location but on a different port.
It is slightly difficult to recreate exactly but very often when one of the connections has been negotiated and the (self-signed) certificate added to Firefox when connecting to the same URL but placing a different port in the browser I get the error...
(Error code: sec_error_bad_signature)
It appears to get in a muddle as to which certificate should be used for which port. They have both been downloaded and the port number appears to be available in the certificate selection process but an error occurs nonetheless.I belive you can, I think my friends Apple TV is connected to their internet via an Ethernet cable, and we use Airplay sometimes using our iPads that are connected to the same network via WiFi. It should work as long as they are both connected to the same network. However, I don't have an Apple TV of my own, so don't take this as a solid answer.

Please help me creating a new listener with different port#.
I have two instances in a server. both have different homes. I want to create a seperate listener for the second one i created.
But that is not happening.
here i tried to give name from LISTENER TO LISTENER1 & Port# from 1521 to 1524.
SID_LIST_LISTENER =
(SID_LIST =
(SID_DESC =
(SID_NAME = PLSExtProc)
(ORACLE_HOME = /apps2/oracle)
(PROGRAM = extproc)
LISTENER1 =
(DESCRIPTION_LIST =
(DESCRIPTION =
(ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = IPC)(KEY = EXTPROC1))
(ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = aixth53)(PORT = 1524))
When I check lsnrctl status with LISTENER1 , it still shows the other instance home with port#: 1521
Please help me creating a new listener with different port#.

The listener is a broker only and doesn't play any role in normal communications.
It just forks a process or a thread, and that's it.And the listener is a single point of failure. Listener goes down, you can't connect to the db. That's why you need two listeners. If listener one goes down, then listener two goes down for exact same reason since it is a single executable file.I'm not playing tit-for-tat with you. Fact is, there are situations where people who are not you might want to use more than one listener. Some folks might want to jab a sharp pencil into their eye, too.
Just because you can do something, it does not necessarily mean it should be done. -
What are the different ports required to Deploy(Run) an application in NWDS
Hi all,
We have a issue here in deploying our application in NWDS. As we are accessing our servers(from another country) thru firewalls in between, most of the ports are blocked for security reasons, henceforth, we are unable to deploy our application in NWDS.
Initially port 3601 was blocked, now its open.when i try to deploy my application , it prompts for a SDM password, after i enter it , it gives me error saying it can't process thru 50018 port.
So my query is , to build, deploy and run or debug a application in NWDS what are the different ports that needs to be accessable ?( so that i can tell my basis guys that all this specific ports need to be opened )
(Note: will the SDM port, debug port,Http port be enough to deploy and run an application)
Need your help on this
Regards,
VijayHi Arun,
Thanks for your reply, as you told port 3601, its already opened. I didnt understand about the 3200,3300,3299. Can u be more clear about why each of this port is used for? ( bcoz i need to give a reason to my Basis guys, what each port is for)
Hope this Log details of the error that I get here helps you:-

How do i group different ports for "DAQmxCreateDIChan" for a single task?
greetings.
the thing is that for "DAQmxCreateDIChan" i do this:
DAQmxErrChk (DAQmxCreateDIChan(taskHandle3,"Dev2/port0","",DAQmx_Val_ChanForAllLines));
and i can even do this
DAQmxErrChk (DAQmxCreateDIChan(taskHandle4,"Dev2/port1/line0:1","",DAQmx_Val_ChanForAllLines));
ok, in the first case it means that for taskHandle3 i will read all 8 bits from port0 in "Dev2/port0", right?
in the second case it means that for taskHadle4 i will read only line0 and line1 from port1 in"Dev2/port1", right?
once
this is explained: How can i read all 10 bits (i.e. line0 to line7 in
port0 and line0 to line1 in port1) for a single task so that in the
"DAQmxReadDigitalU32" that goes after "DAQmxCreateDIChan" i can have a
single read instead of two in the example above?
by the way, my device is a pci6229 and i'm using vc++ 2008.
thank you for reading.
ZZ
sorry for double posting...Hi ZainZeus!
The answer lies on the creation of the channel, DAQmx allows you to include different ports on the same line, that should include both ports on the same task. It should be something like this:
Dev1/port0/line0:7, Dev1/port1/line0:1
All of this must be on the same line under the " ". You can try this and check if it works.
Hope this helps.
Have a great day! -
How to configure Mail to use different ports for POP and SMTP?
I am trying to configure Mail for my AT&T account. It requires me to configure POP (incoming) mail for port 995, and SMTP (outgoing) mail for port 465. However there doesn't seem to be an option to configure different ports for these. Is that correct, or am I missing something?
Alternatively can I configure two accounts, one for POP incoming and one for SMTP outgoing? My incoming POP account does work, but in configuring an outgoing account I still have to configure a POP server name and that will not work for the outgoing port.
Any advice on how to solve this would be appreciated.Understand. It is really quite easy to do in Mail, too. Kappy told you how to set up the smtp piece. I gave you pop info. These two things are on different panels within Account Preferences.
To recap his and my posts
SMTP:
In Mail Prefs, click on the accounts icon. Click on your att yahoo account on the list. On the right of the window, in the lower portion, you see an smtp server menu. Open it and select edit. Select Edit Server, then click on its Advanced tab. Set up port 465 with SSL.
POP:
This is on a different panel in Mail PRefs Accounts. Now in Mail Prefs, click on the accounts icon. Click on your att yahoo account on the list. On the right of the window, you see three tabs, acc't info, mbox behaviors, and Advanced. This is where things are different than for smtp. You are going to configure stuff on a different "advanced" panel than where you were for the smtp stuff. Click on the advanced tab. There is a field for port with a SSL checkbox next to it and an authentication drop down menu. Check the box and it should quickfill change from 110 to 995. Autentication drop down is probably already default to password.
Did you visit the URL I gave you previously? It even gives you screen shots. -
Multiple entries in ARD with same ip, but different ports?
I always learn so much from these forums...thanks to all of you who take the time to answer.
I established 5900/3283 for my primary mac (mac 1) behind my router at home and then configured port forwarding to have a public port of 15900 mapped to the secondary machine (mac 2) at 5900. I have dyndns set up in my router and when connecting from the outside with ARD to the dns name without specifying the port, it connects to mac 1 without problem and reports mac 1 as the name in ARD. Great, no problem.
When I add the 15900 port to the dns name, ARD still shows the mac 1 as the name, but connects to mac 2. Can I fix this to correctly reflect the name of Mac 2? Also, it does not seem possible to have two clients in the ARD list with the same ip address, but different ports. Can this be fixed? Lastly, how do I connect 15900 and 13283 ports in one listing for the port forwarded mac, i.e. how do I enter xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:15900 and xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:13283?
Thanks,

Hello,
I have three web applications on a SharePoint 2013 servers. In Central Administrators on the Application Management page where it lists all of the web applications, it shows Port 80 being used 2 3 sites. When I go to IIS, 2 of the 3 are using
different ports, 81 and 82. So, only one site IIS says is using port 80. Why is this? The host file has no entries in it. Where these web applications extended?
Thanks,
Paul
PaulHi Paul,
From the URL of the web application in Central Administration in the image, you have configured the Alternate Access Mapping for the web applications.
And the URL configured is by default using port 80 if you don’t
assign other ports for the web application, so the port is changed to 80 in Central Administration.
To be able to access the web application, you need to add binging for the web application in IIS(please make sure that you have added the host name in DNS).
For example, SharePoint – 32298, you need to create the binding for the web application in IIS as the image below:
Best regards.
Thanks

CSS Stickyness between different ports and Peoplesoft
We are attempting to "stick" a user to a specific server. We have three different server that run different services on different ports.
The peoplesoft server initial will go to 80 and then get redirected to port 7402, then 9002, then 8002.
Is it possible to have the CSS configured to be able to do the following:
User hits portal.domain.com (port 80)
This will direct this to one of three servers and stick them there using sticky-srcip
Then have the user redirected to port 7402 on the same server that they hit when accessing the content rule for port 80
After that, it needs to be able to still stay on the same server to port 9002
Then another call to 8002 again, to the same server.
Currently I have 4 content rules for each port. However, when calling the alias that points to the VIP (same VIP for all 4 rules, different port for each)
When I try to use sticky and the server sends a URL back to the client browser, they are returned the same alias:PORT and it then gets rebalanced and stuck to one of the three services. Is it possible for the client to remain stuck to the same server and just use the different port.
Here are my current content rules:
content virtual-pshr-eps-ssl
add service easpw1-eps-ssl
add service easpw2-eps-ssl
add service easpw3-eps-ssl
protocol tcp
port 9002
url "/*"
vip address 192.168.8.27
advanced-balance sticky-srcip
application ssl
active
content virtual-pshr-epsproxy-http
add service easpw1-epsproxy-http
add service easpw2-epsproxy-http
add service easpw3-epsproxy-http
protocol tcp
port 80
url "/*"
vip address 192.168.8.27
advanced-balance sticky-srcip
active
content virtual-pshr-epsproxy-ssl
add service easpw1-epsproxy-ssl
add service easpw2-epsproxy-ssl
add service easpw3-epsproxy-ssl
protocol tcp
port 7402
url "/*"
vip address 192.168.8.27
advanced-balance sticky-srcip
application ssl
active
content virtual-pshr-hcm-ssl
add service easpw1-hcm-ssl
add service easpw2-hcm-ssl
add service easpw3-hcm-ssl
protocol tcp
port 8002
url "/*"
vip address 192.168.8.27
advanced-balance sticky-srcip
application ssl
activeyou have two options
Option 1:
Instead of using Layer 4 content rules, use a single Layer3 rule with "advanced-balance sticky-srcip".
Option 2:
Configure the servers in all content rules in the same order and use "balance srcip".
if the servers are not steady then with each state change the hash is recalculated which may cause clients to end up at a different server.

How to configure SMTP on a different port?
Hi All,
We have just moved one of our BO servers to a cloud based environment and the exchange server in our new environment uses a different port instead of the default port 25.
Though we have configured all job servers in CMC to use the new port the error message we get when we schedule a report still indicates we are using port 25. Is there like a conifuration file or xml where we need to update this? If not, is there any other way to configure email destination on a different port?
We are using BO XI 3.1 SP3, MySQL repositiry, Tomcat server.
Error message we get:
server error. [Error initializing SMTP server. Return code: [TCP send failed.]. Reason: [X.Y.Z.A:25].]: [CrystalEnterprise.Smtp]
Thanks in advance...
Thanks,
Hari...Thanks for the reply. Here is my situation explained.
We have a few WebI reports that need to be scheduled as Excel and PDF on a regular basis[weekly] to few users. These schedules work fine in our test environment where the Mail server is configured on port 25. However in our production enviornment , Mail server is configured on a different port. What I can confirm is that the port is open and if I try emailing through command prompt, I can connect the exchange server and send emails.
I have changed the setting on all Job servers [Adaptive Job Server, CrystalReports Job Server, DeskI Job Server, Destinaton Job Server, LOV Job Server, Program Job Server and Publication Job server], but still the email schedules fail and I am confused because the failure message [as in my first post] says it failed over port 25. Where is it still picking up Port 25 from though I have changed the confiuration on all Job servers?
Any guidance will be greatly appreciated. -
Split outbound ORDERS idoc to different ports
Hi All,
I was wondering whether it is possible to split an outbound ORDERS idoc and have it directed to two different ports based on document type? Client requires normal PO's to be written to one XML while STO's be written to a seperate file. Look forward to your responses.
Regards,
JohnHi,
These are the exits available for Outbound ORDERS idoc.
1. ORDERS Purchase order / order MM06E001 EXIT_SAPLEINM_001 Customer enhancements
for control
record: purchasing
document, outbound
2. ORDERS Purchase order / order MM06E001 EXIT_SAPLEINM_002 Customer enhancements
to data segments,
purchasing
document, outbound
3.ORDERS Purchase order / order MM06E001 EXIT_SAPLEINM_011 Final customer enhancement
EDI purchase
order outbound
You should create the project before implementing the exits. So that the break point is going to stop over there.
