Migration/converion in OAB
Hi
We are converting from a third party application to the new R12 instance for OAB and would require some advice on the APIs to be used for converting historical enrollments.
We have seen suggestion for two sets of APIs.
1. 1. Ben_prtt_enrt_result_api.create_prtt_enrt_result (this API procedure
will create an enrollment in a benefit plan)
2. Ben_elig_cvrd_dpnt_api.create_elig_cvrd_dpnt (this API procedure
will attach covered dependents to the primary participant)
3. Ben_plan_beneficiary_api.create_plan_beneficiary (this API procedure
will create designated beneficiary for each plan enrollment)
and
1. ben_election_information.election_information_w first & then
ben_proc_common_enrt_rslt.process_post_enrt_calls_w
2. ben_elig_dpnt_api.process_depend_w first & then
ben_elig_cvrd_dpnt_api.dpnt_actn_items_w
3. ben_plan_beneficiary_api.create_plan_beneficiary_w
From your past experience, please let us know which among this set should be used.
regards
Anil Krishnan
Hi Anil,
The second set of APIs do call the first set internally, but they do some additional checks which may be useful. Overall, I think the second set is less error-prone and leads to tighter data integrity. I would still suggest going through the metalink notes as there are some useful webADI templates for enrollment upload etc.

After Exchange 2007 Migration to Exchange 2010, OAB is erroring
Hello all,
I migrated from single server Exchange 2007 to single Exchange 2010 2 months ago using a co-existence environment. The 2007 server is still running, but it's not doing anything but SMTP relay, as I am waiting on Oracle admin to point their server at
my new 2010 server. Yesterday, I noticed a new mail enabled user we created was not showing up in the Address Book. He is in the Global Address list when I check it from OWA. And I can see him in my Address book if I search All Users,
instead of the Global Address List. Everytime I try to update the Offline Address Book, I get the following error
OABGen encountered error 80004005 while cleaning the offline address list public folders under /o=2007Server/cn=addrlists/cn=oabs/cn=Default Offline Address Book. Please make sure the public folder database is mounted and replicas exist of the offline
address list folders. No offline address lists have been generated. Please check the event log for more information.
- \Default Offline Address Book
There was a Public Folder on the 2007 server, but I don't think anyone was using it. All of our clients our 2007 or later. Enable Web-based distribution is enabled and Generation server is my new 2010 server. Enable public folder distribution
not enabled.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. No, the Enable public folder check box is not ticked. However, the link you provided has led me to other clues. The author says "To locate the actual
OAB distribution point on the Client Access Server, the Outlook client will use the autodiscover service." I wonder if still having the CAS role on the old 2007 Exchange Server still installed is causing issues with Autodiscover. Below

Exchange 2003 to 2010 Migration OAB Generation Issue
Hi
I am in the process of migrating from 2003 to 2010. All mailboxes are moved across and email in and out are moving through the 2010. However I cannot move the oab generation server as when i go to change the generating server my New 2010 server is not listed
only the two old 2003 servers. This is a child domain in a large organization and is one of a large number of exchange servers forestwide. I have created a new oab and asigned to the mailboxes on the new 2010 server. The old 2003 server is off for over a week
and there are no issues.
I now need to remove both 2003 servers, what issues will not being able to move the generation server cause (If any if i am using a new oab). Also I am following the remove last exchange server line as this is the last 2003 server in this child domain are
there any issues with this in this scenario?Hi,
According to your description, I understand that all mailboxes have been moved to Exchange 2010 and a new OAB is created for all users in your environment.
Please make sure the new created OAB is generated by Exchange 2010 and Enabled Web-based distribution. If there are any Outlook 2003 users in your environment, the public folder distribution should also be enabled. Then we can set the new one as default.
If so, all users in Exchange 2010 would use the new created OAB by default.
If you want to double check the OAB configuration, we can run the following command to check it:
Get-OfflineAddressBook | FL
Additionally, if your migration is complete and successful, we can follow the article below to remove the last legacy Exchange server from your Exchange 2010 organization:

Migrating an Exchange 2010 Generated OAB to Exchange 2013
Hello,
I'm trying to find some information on how to migrate the offline address book from Exchange 201o to Exchange 2013, but I'm having a lot of trouble finding anything at all that is of any use, so I was hoping the experts here might be able to offer some advice.
I have an environment where all mailboxes are on Exchange 2010. Recently I introduced Exchange 2013 into the environment, so we have a co-existence situation. At the moment we run a multi-tenant system that has over 1600 OABs, all assigned to various customers
using Address Book Policies. Soon, I will be starting to migrate mailboxes to 2013, so I was looking at what closing down activity is necessary to remove 2010, with one of the tasks being the transferral of the OAB. I understand the arbitration mailbox bit
and how it works on 2013, equally I understand the 2010 bit and how that works, but it's the transition from using a 2010 OAB to using a 2013 OAB that I don't understand. From what I've read to date it seems like the only option might be to totally recreate
the OABs in 2013. Surely this can't be the only way, can it? This is going to be a mammoth task for me if that's the case. Can I therefore just ask whether anyone knows anything about this in something other than a basic almost default environment where everyone
only uses a single OAB and its an easy task?
I have seen another post here in the forums about this:
http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/121f282c-1ff4-401d-9257-5dfbf17d4a5c/going-from-exchange-2010-to-exchange-2013-what-about-my-2010-oab?forum=exchangesvrgeneral
I didn't fully understand the answer though. In the article above it states:
"NO you don't have to move, all OAB's have already been created and stored in your OABGEN mailbox and are safe there Updating 12 times a day. The way OABs are stored has changed and its even better. all OABs have gone into <Default Offline
Address Book 2013>."
But that still doesn't detract from the fact that whether there's any kind of sync going on or not, I still have 1600+ OABs generated by a 2010 server, and either I can't uninstall the last 2010 server because of that, or I delete the OAB, in which case
I lose the OAB anyway. Or is the articles trying to state that I don't need multiple OABs because it's all in the default, and that even if I use multiple ABPs then each one should use the default OAB? That doesn't sound right.
I have tested doing it the manual way in a lab (by that I mean creating a new OAB in 2013, then replacing a test user's OAB in the ABP assigned to them). That seems to work, but I don't want to have to do it that way for everyone if I can avoid it.
Any help would be much appreciated on this.Ok, so I think I've got an answer to my own question here. Based on my own testing to find out how easy it would be to have to do a delete/recreate of the OABs in 2013 (given that I have over 1600 ABPs and corresponding OABs in a multi-tenant environment),
I've got this:
Identify ABPs and which 2010 OABs they use using Get-AddressBookPolicy
Identify which address lists the 2010 OABs use using Get-OfflineAddressBook
Create new OABs (maybe same name but putting '2013' on the end or something)
Switch the OAB defined in the ABP using Set-AddressBookPolicy with the -OfflineAddressBook parameter
Have I got that right? So actually, not too hard really (if I'm right of course), because I don't have to build any new GALs or ALs based on specific extensionAttribute values, because it's not necessary. -
Migrate Exchange 2003 Public folders and OAB to Office365?
Hi guys,
I am trying to migrate exchange 2003 public folders to office 365. I have read various documentation however they were either out of date or half-solutions.
The company stored OAB's in each public folder as well, how do I go about migrating these lists into office 365? Will it just "work" if I migrate the public folders across?
Thanks,
AlexHi,
If you are migrating from inhouse 2003 to office 365, then the best options for you are-
1. Either you can go for the manaul process. You can create PST files and can upload them to mailboxes through office 365 account.
Kindly refer the below mentioned link for the same
http://blogs.technet.com/b/canitpro/archive/2013/05/31/step-by-step-migration-of-exchange-2003-server-to-office-365.aspx
2. Or you can go for any 3rd party tool using the same you can migrate your public folders to office 365. This is required when you need to avoid the risks associated and need to keep your environment up and running even while migration process. Respond
back for third party tool suggestions. -
Exchange 2003 - 2010 Co-existence Migration Autodiscover & OAB Issue
Hi,
I am in the middle of a Ex2003 to Ex2010 Migration initially through co-existence. Everything has been working perfectly for the last couple of months.
The first Ex2010 server I installed (EX01.domain.local) was just a temporary server that hosted a handful of users that were imported from another company.
I have since installed a second Ex2010 server (EX02.domain.local), which will be the permanent 2010 server. The end result will be 1 Ex2010 server only, after I have migrated everyone off EX01 and the 2003 server.
EX01 and EX02 both have the Mailbox, CAS, & HT roles installed.
I created the mailbox and Public Folder databases on EX02. I have assigned the Public Folder database to the mailbox database.
I added EX02 as a Source Server within Hub Transport.
I've exported the UC/SAN certificate from EX01 and imported it into EX02 and assigned the SMTP, IIS, POP & IMAP services to it.
I setup the legacy URL for OWA.
I changed the relevant settings on EX02, eg OWA, ECP, ActiveSync, OAB, AutoDiscoverServiceInternalUri etc to be external domain name that is listed on the certificate, eg mail.domain.com.au. (The SSL certificate is through GoDaddy and they do not allow you
to put any internal domain names on the certificate).
So before I installed the second Ex2010 server, everything was working correctly.
After I installed the second Ex2010 server and performed the steps above, I have noticed a couple of things;
1) The Autodiscovery test within Outlook works for mailboxes that have been migrated to either of the Ex2010 servers, but fails for mailboxes that are still on the Ex2003 server. It finds the correct URL, https://mail.domain.com.au/Autodiscover/Autodiscover.xml,
and brings back an HTTP status of 200. However, it says it then fails with (0x800C8203). I tested with Outlook 2003 and 2010. They both fail.
2) OAB fails to download for clients whose mailbox is still on the Ex2003 server. It fails with (0x8004010F - The operation failed. An object cannot be found). It works for clients with mailboxes on either of the 2010 servers.
I'm going around in circles reading numerous articles on trying to fix autodiscover. Using Microsoft's MRCA site, autodiscovery works externally for clients on the Ex2010 servers, but not on the 2003 servers, (which I thought was how it worked anyway as
autodiscovery doesn't work on Ex2003).
Is this the same for internal users. I'm not sure if I'm chasing my tail by trying to fix something that doesn't need fixing, but obviously the OAB should work.
Any suggestions are grateful.
Thanks.

Migration from 2003 - 2010, OAB errors on client, and OAB virtual directory does not contain any files.
Hi,
Please re-create the Outlook profile to have a try. If the issue persists, we can do the further checks in Exchange server.
Please make sure you have changed the OAB generation server to Exchange 2010 and enable Web distribution on the Exchange 2010 Client Access server:
Move-OfflineAddressBook "Default Offline Address List" -Server <MBX2010>
If all configurations are correct, please check whether there is any folder in the following path in Exchange sever 2010:
a. OAB generation in Mailbox:
\\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\V14\ExchangeOAB
b. OAB distribution in Client Access:
\\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\V14\ClientAccess\OAB

Removing Public Folders after migration from Exchange 2007 to Exchange 2013
Recently we migrated from Exchange 2007 to Exchange 2013. We did not migrate Public Folders and are retiring them from Exchange altogether. I shut Exchange 2007 off for a couple of weeks to ensure 2013 functions properly and it does so we're
ready to decommission Exchange 2007. I was able to remove all the mailbox databases without a glitch. Using the EMC I click to remove the Public Folder database from Exchange 2007 and get the following message:
Error: The public folder database "server\storage group - Public Folders\ Public Folder Database" contains folder replicas. Before deleting the public folder database, remove the folders or move the replicas to another public folder database.
Any help appreciated.Hi Terry,
If you run the following command does it come back with any public folders?
Get-PublicFolderStatistics -Server "SERVERNAME" | fl
If nothing comes back you can follow this guide to manually remove the public folder database (at your own risk) http://haythamalex.wordpress.com/2011/11/24/how-to-force-exchange-server-public-folder-removal/
Cheers,
Jack
I get alot of output from that command.

Help With Migration From Exchange 2007 To Exchange 2013
We have an Exchange 2007 Server with Service Pack 3 and Rollup 12 applied.
I installed a new Exchange 2013 Server and then immediately applied CU3.
I am following this Technet article:
http://blogs.technet.com/b/meamcs/archive/2013/07/25/part-1-step-by-step-exchange-2007-to-2013-migration.aspx
The only deviation from the instruction I have had to do is in Part 2, section 4 “Configure offline address book (OAB)”.
Instead of entering:
Get-MailboxDatabase | Set-MailboxDatabase -OfflineAddressBook "\Default Offline Address Book (Ex2013)"
I had to enter:
Get-MailboxDatabase | Set-MailboxDatabase -OfflineAddressBook "\Default Offline Address Book (Ex2012)"
I believe this is due to the fact that the writer installed from an Exchange 2013 CU1 disk and I only had Exchange 2013.
Also when I tried to run:
Move-OfflineAddressBook -Identity "Default Offline Address Book" -Server SRV-EX2013
I get the following error:
Move-OfflineAddressBook : Failed to create the 'ExchangeOAB' folder on the target server 'SRV-EX2013'. Two possible reasons for the failure are that the System Attendant Service is not running or you do not have permission to perform
this operation. Error message : 'Catastrophic failure (Exception from RESULT: 0x8000FFFF (E_UNEXPECTED))'.At line:1 char:24+ Move-OfflineAddressBook <<<<
-Identity "Default Offline Address Book" -Server SRV-ex2013+ CategoryInfo
: InvalidResult: (Default Offline Address Book:OfflineAddressBookIdParameter) [Move-OfflineAddressBook], LocalizedException
+ FullyQualifiedErrorId : 9250969C,Microsoft.Exchange.Management.SystemConfigurationTasks.MoveOfflineAddressBook
However when I looked at the address books in EAC I could see that “Default Offline Address Book (Ex2012)” was the default and that it contained a copy of the Global Address List. So I did nothing else about it.
I am now at Part 3, section 7 “Move Mailboxes” and it keeps failing.
I am using the EAC so that I at least see the error as using the powershell brings back no results.
Anyway it Syncs the 18 items in the mailbox then fails with:
Data migrated: 936.7 KB (959,145 bytes)
Migration rate: 0 B (0 bytes)
Error: MigrationPermanentException: Error: An error occurred while updating a user object after the move operation. --> Unable to generate the e-mail address. Unable to load address module 'C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\V15\Mailbox\address\SMTP\AMD64\inproxy.dll'
for address type 'SMTP'. Additional message: 'Access is denied'.
Help??
TonyHi,
You can't configure Exchange 2013 to generate other OAB versions, and the OAB generation occurs on the Mailbox server on which the organization mailbox resides. Therefore, to move OAB generation in Exchange 2013, you must move the organization mailbox. You
can only move the OAB generation to another Exchange 2013 mailbox database. You can’t move OAB generation to a previous version of Exchange.
And please refer to the following articles :
Moving OABs between Exchange versions
If you want to upgrade from exchange 2007 to exchange 2013,I recommend you refer to the following article:
Upgrade from Exchange 2007 to Exchange 2013
Exchange version
Exchange organization coexistence
Exchange 2007
Supported with the following versions of Exchange:
Update Rollup 10 for Exchange 2007 Service Pack 3 (SP3) on all Exchange 2007 servers in the
organization, including Edge Transport servers.
Exchange 2013 Cumulative Update 2 (CU2) or later on all Exchange 2013 servers in the
organization.
Install Exchange 2013 in an Existing Exchange 2007 Organization
You can install a Microsoft Exchange Server 2013 server into an existing Exchange Server 2007 organization, and then move the Exchange resources, such as mailboxes, public folders, and connectors, to Exchange 2013. However, you can't perform an in-place
upgrade from Exchange 2007 to Exchange 2013.
Hope this helps!
Thanks.

Hi,
I currently have a single Exchange 2010 Server that has all the roles supporting about 500 users. I plan to upgrade to 2013 and move to a four server HA Exchange setup (a CAS array with 2 Server as CAS servers and one DAG with 2 mailbox Servers). My
goal is to plan out the transition in steps with no downtime. Email is most critical with my company.
Exchange 2010 is running SP3 on a Windows Server 2010 and a Separate Server as archive. In the new setup, rather than having a separate server for archiving, I am just going to put that on a separate partition.
Here is what I have planned so far.
1. Build out four Servers. 2 CAS and 2 Mailbox Servers. Mailbox Servers have 4 partitions each. One for OS. Second for DB. Third for Logs and Fourth for Archives.
2. Prepare AD for exchange 2013.
3. Install Exchange roles. CAS on two servers and mailbox on 2 servers. Add a DAG. Someone had suggested to me to use an odd number so 3 or 5. Is that a requirement?
4. I am using a third party load balancer for CAS array instead of NLB so I will be setting up that.
5. Do post install to ready up the new CAS. While doing this, can i use the same parameters as assigned on exchange 2010 like can i use the webmail URL for outlook anywhere, OAB etc.
6. Once this is done. I plan to move a few mailboxes as test to the new mailbox servers or DAG.
7. Testing outlook setups on new servers. inbound and outbound email tests.
once this is done, I can migrate over and point all my MX records to the new servers.
Please let me know your thoughts and what am I missing. I like to solidify a flowchart of all steps that I need to do before I start the migration.
thank you for your help in advanceHi,
okay, you can use 4 virtual servers. But there is no need to deploy dedicated server roles (CAS + MBX). It is better to deploy multi-role Exchange servers, also virtual! You could install 2 multi-role servers and if the company growths, install another multi-role,
and so on. It's much more simpler, better and less expensive.
CAS-Array is only an Active Directory object, nothing more. The load balancer controls the sessions on which CAS the user will terminate. You can read more at
http://blogs.technet.com/b/exchange/archive/2014/03/05/load-balancing-in-exchange-2013.aspx Also there is no session affinity required.
First, build the complete Exchange 2013 architecture. High availability for your data is a DAG and for your CAS you use a load balancer.
On channel 9 there is many stuff from MEC:

Exchange 2013: Problem with Default Global Address List after migration
I just completed a migration from Exchange 2007 to Exchange 2013. The 2007 box has been decommissioned just last week. I have been seeing weird issues with our offline addressbook and global address list, since the migration, but always thought
it was related to Ex2007. Well the issues still exist and here's what i've found so far:
1. If any user goes to Schedule Appointment in Outlook, and they click the Rooms button (on the Scheduling Assistant page), we get a LONG wait (about 5 mins or more) and then an error that says: "The operation could not be completed because
an offline address book is not available. Download a copy of the offline address book." When i click OK, the address book is up, with the "All Rooms" list showing blank (we have 3 rooms in Exchange currently).
2. Now if I go to the Address Book in Outlook it opens to the GAL and it's up to date... I can also force an update to the offline address book after adding a new group or entry, so i know offline address books are being updated properly and
working. HOWEVER, if i go to any of the other address lists (besides Contacts and GAL) under All Address Lists (All Contacts, All Groups, All Rooms, All Users and Public Folders) I get the same error given above: "The operation could not be
completed because an offline address book is not available. Download a copy of the offline address book."
3. I went to the Exchange 2013 EAC and went to Organization -> Address Lists. Everything under here said 'NO' under the Up-to-Date column. When i looked at the properties on each list, and clicked save, I had to update to the new version.
After doing this, the Up-to-Date column said 'YES'. I could do all lists EXCEPT for the GAL. It still says 'NO'
4. The last thing i did was set my Outlook to NOT be in cached mode. This should give me a direct connection to the GAL and all lists, if I'm not mistaken... So when i do this, I cannot even open see the GAL. The ONLY option in the
Address Book that comes up is Contacts (which are my personal ones).
5. I just now ran Get-GlobalAddressList | fl in powershell on the Ex2013 server. I see some things that make me wonder... First; nothing in the RecipientFilter field, however, there is something in the LdapRecipientFilter field.
Second; the RecipientFilterType field says "Legacy". and Third; the RecipientFilterApplied field says "False".
Didn't know what these should all be, but it appears maybe this is the cause of all my issues?? Can someone help me out here.. even if i have to recreate a new GAL, i'm fine with that, I just don't know all the steps to do so. I just need it
to work!
Thanks
Jeff
-JeffHi,
In my opinion, it is better to confirm whether the GAL is good, first.
How about the GAL working in OWA?
If GAL working well in OWA, it seems the issue on the Outlook Client or Connectivity side.
Please trying to run Outlook on the safe mode to avoid some AVs, add-ins and firewall for testing.
Please follow the steps as below to narrow down the OAB issue.
Following are the locations that .lzx files in CAS server and BMX server:
CAS:
C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\V15\ClientAccess\OAB
MBX:
C:\Program Files\Micorosft\Exchange Server\V15\ExchangeOAB
Please verify whether the .lzx files update to the latest.
1. If the .lzx files in MBX server not update to the latest.
It should be an issue on the OAB generation side.
2. If the .lzx files in MBX server is latest, but CAS server not.
It should be a distribution issue.
1) Please run Get-OabVirtualDirectory command in EMS to verify whether at least one OAB VD exist in the org. If not, please create a new one.
2) Please make sure whether any setup for Web Distribution. Selecting the “Enabling an Offline Address Book for Web Distribution” checkbox.
3) Please force restart File Distribution services to distribute OAB files manually.
3. If the .lzx files in MBX server and CAS server are all update to the latest.
It should be the connectivity between CAS server and Client issue.
1)Please verify the network.
2)Please check DNS, MX, etc. configuration.
3)Please run “Test E-mail AutoConfiguration” to check the AutoDiscover details.
Please make sure the OAB URLs are correct.
If the OAB URLs are incorrect, please using following command to re-set them:
Set-OABVirtualDirectory -Identity "ServerFQDN\OAB (Default Web Site)" -ExternalUrl
https://www.contoso.com/OAB -InternalUrl
https://mail.contoso.com/OAB
4)Please checking the App log and finding solutions from Microsoft Technet articles or KB, according to the Event ID.
5)If it still not working after performing the methods above unfortunately, please trying to re-build OAB Virtual Directory.

Namespace for Exchange 2003 == 2010 == 2013 Migration
Hi
Hope someone can help. I am working on an Exchange 2003 to 2010 migration, which will then quickly move onto a 2010 to 2013 migration and need some clarification on the namespaces to use. I am aware that if I do not do this right at the 2003
to 2010 migration, this will cause a headache at the 2010 to 2013 migration.
Some background:
2003 Functional Level Domain - 2 x 2008 DC's
Currently users are on a 2003 exchange cluster with a mix of RPC (internal users) and RPC over HTTP connections (roaming users)
We will be installing Exchange 2010 on a single server, with CAS, HUB and Mailbox roles and no load balancer, as we will be moving quickly to 2013.
We have two Kemp load balancers ready for Exchange 2013.
Exchange 2010 is installed on a single server (exh2010.domain.local) and configured with an CAS array name (exh-cas.domain.local) which is resolvable internally only.
Currently we have multiple smtp namespaces e.g. @company.com, @company2.com.
Our main website etc is www.company.com
Our public facing services are at https://service.mycompany.com
Our 2003 RPC address is https://webmail.mycompany.com
I understand that the 2010 RPC CAS array name should be separated from the Outlook Anywhere (RPC over HTTPS) address so that when 2013 takes over the HTTPS address, the RPC connections are not broken.
Two Questions:
Do we have to use the HTTPS same namespace for 2013 as we do in 2010? Its just I would want to test the Kemp load balancers before making them live (slow careful transition), and giving them a different namespace, e.g.
https://mail.mycompany.com would allow a migration, rather then a cutover.
Can we use the *.mycompany.com address rather then the company.com address, even though we have no SMTP addresses at mycompany.com? Can autodiscover still work?
Thanks in advance for any guidance
Cheers
Steve1. No, but you can. Exchange 2013 will proxy all services for Exchange 2010, so if you set up everything right, you should be able to simply swing the name from Exchange 2010 to 2013.
2. Your web services can be published with any domain as long as the hostname is in the certificate. Only Autodiscover needs to match the e-mail domain(s). So in your example, you could publish OWA, ECP, ActiveSync, Web Services and OAB
at owa.mycompany.com. You would need autodiscover.company.com, autodiscover.company2.com, etc., but if you don't have e-mail addresses with mycompany.com, you don't need autodiscover.mycompany.com. If all users have a company.com e-mail address,
the you only need autodiscover.company.com as long as users know to enter that e-mail address when configuring profiles on PCs or devices. If you're going to have to have Autodiscover for multiple domains, then you might consider using an SRV record
instead because it can greatly simplify your certificate requirements.

Contact list not show after migration Exchange 2007 to 2010

Exchange 2003 to 2010 Migration
Hello,
I seem to have ran into issues with Default GAL, default address lists, email address policies, OAB, etc.
Background: Exchange 2003, with one FE and one BE server with multiple domains for mail access. We decided to migrate to 2010 and have one hyper-v server with 3 VMS running AD, CAS/HT and MBX roles respectively. All the AD preparations and installation (exchange
2010 Sp2) of CAS/HT role was smooth. When I installed the MBX role it was successful but could not see Public Folder Database and was unable to create one because of AddressList errors and had to be upgraded to 2010. Since there were multiple domains, LDAP
filter were used and those had to be updated with OPATH filters and I used the "ConvertFrom-LdapFilter.ps1" script to convert and upgrade to 2010. I could do this for all the custom address lists but it did not run for "All Users", "All
Groups" "All Contacts" as it says ADObject cannot be found on exchange2003 server.
I created a test mailbox on the new server and could login using OWA but cannot see GAL or search for addresses. I could send and receive email from 2010 to both 2003 mailbox & external domain with no issues. I did configure the CAS role with legacy
URL (existing OWA URL https://myweb.domain.net/exchange) for exchange2003 and a new URL (https://mymail.domain.net/owa) for exchange 2010 and also enabled Outlook Anywhere, MS Active Sync, etc. But I cannot setup outlook using autodiscover or even manually
by providing the info. I have to start migrating users and this has become a big show stopper and would appreciate if anyone could help/guide me through this to troubleshoot/fix the issues and move the mailboxes ASAP.

Thanks,
SyedSFHi SyedSF,
From your problem description, it seems that you have a permission problem here. Maybe you have had Address List Segregation configured in Exchange 2003 and that is not supported in Exchange 2010.
I recommend you to use ADSIEdit to check the permissions on "All Address Lists", "All Global Address Lists" and "Offline Address Lists". Include inherited permissions should be checked and "Authenticated Users" should have the permissions read and "Open
address list".
What's more, here are some similar threads for your reference.
