Migration of only custom created business area in production
Hi,
I have created a custom business area under which I have created 10-15 reports/workbooks. I also have the present single backup file (.eex) which includes the folder for each 10-15 reports, workbooks, lov folder, item classes.
So during production migration, I would like this specific business area only to go into production so that 10-15 workbooks are only displayed in production instance.
None of seeded workbooks/reports should be migrated or displayed.
I am unsure of the steps to be performed from the developer's perspective(if any) and the database administrator perspective. It would be great if anyone can throw some light on this as our main requirement is that in production discoverer viewer, none of the seeded/unnecessary report should be displayed rather only those 10-15 repors/workbooks should get displayed.

Hi,
If your custom business area does not have any dependencies on the seed folders then you can simply import just the custom business are and reports into your production EUL.
If there are dependencies then you will need to import all the business areas and then just set up security on the custom business area. The seed business areas will not have any roles/responsibilities assigned and therefore will not be visible to the uers.

I have a problem. I've got eul.eex from other people, I imported it to discoverer,so I can see the business area , folders and the tables I can connect with.
But right now ,I need to change these table's names which means I can't use eul.eex to finish my business work(also I need to change the name of current business area). Is there any easy way to resuse eul.eex that I don't need to re-create a new *.eex to adjust the modification of table's names?
BTW. I've read Oracle discoverer 10g administrator guide , and it introduced that I can use Discoverer Administrator to create a new business area , so here's my another question , is Discoverer Administrator the only tool to create a new business area and folders ?I've already solve it , installing Discoverer Administrator and Discoverer Top on my pc

I executed the standards reports: S_ALR_87012093 (Vendor business) and
S_ALR_87012186 (Customer Sales), in the first screen in "Hide Dinamic
Selection" I put "Business Area", but when the reports ran, nothing
filter by business area was consider.
For example:
Vendor 123
Business Area (BA)= 0050 > Balance = 120,00
Business Area (BA)= 0070 > Balance = 250,00
I try to filter by BA = 0050 (120,00), but the total of the report show
me the total of the both BA = 370,00.

Unfortunately, selection by business area for S_ALR_87012172 is not possible.
Please review note 50370 for more details on system's design.
The dynamic selection for business area does not work for reports which use customer / vendor transaction tables (KNC1 LFC1), i.e., business area is not stored in transaction tables.
The reports that read indexes (better performance) do not read GSBER as this info is contained in the cluster BSEG. The dynamic selections are available cause this is a mask using for developing all reports no matter if they will read the indexes or the cluster.
Dynamic selections can only be used with customer / vendor, company code or fiscal year fields. The following reports are affected by this program design, i.e., business area cannot be used in dynamic
selection criteria:
S_ALR_87012082 - Vendor Balances in Local Currency
S_ALR_87012093 - Vendor Business
S_ALR_87012079 - Transaction Figures: Account Balance
S_ALR_87012080 - Transaction Figures: Special Sales
S_ALR_87012081 - Transaction Figures: Sales

Configure the SAP Business Area
The functions of business area is to create balance sheets and profit and loss statement below the company code level. It functionality can be duplicated using Profit center accouting.
OX03 - Creation of new Business Area
New Business Areas can be created anytime in the Enterprise structure in the IMG. However, in the year of creation, no comparison can be done with the previous year data as the Business Area did not exist in the previous year and there are no postings in the previous year.
After create the new Business Areas, new G/L accounts should be created for :-
Sales
Cost of Sales
External Process Cost
Consumption
Material Change
Purchase
Cost of Difference for Production
Factory Output for Production Order
Next create a default account assignment to maintained the link for cost center and business area.
Transaction OKB9
Enter the Company Code and Cost Element
Cocd Cost elem. Acct assignment detail
Enter the details as per business area/valuation area
BA Cost ctr
Guess the above helps.

FS 10N only getting one business area report

We r using 4.7 version while using t.code fs10n we r getting only one business area report, we r having six business ares
can any one suggest steps to get all other business area reports

If u use Txn FS10N u can include all the business area in one report. i think there's a button called "multiple selection" beside business area field. just click the button and fill in all the related business area which u wanna see in "select single value"'s tab.

When I settle the production order, I want that in the FI document, the row with the account that I specified in customizing in allocation structure have a business area.
I can't fill the filed "business" area in the folder allocation because, when I confirm the external activity, the business area is different.
Can you help me?

Create business activity with products
Hi,
I am Trying to create a business activity with products. Adding Activity Journals TAB in the activity u201CBus Act.:With Prodsu201D. The issue is that when I am trying to make a Journal template type in (CRMM_JOURNAL : Define Activity Journals) I am not getting my own transaction type under Transaction Type option (I have copied my own transaction type from the standard u201CBus Act:With Prodsu201D activity). I only get the standard activity type (0020 :Bus Act.:With Prods) in my drop down box. (attached is the screen shot)

first your transaction type has to be active.
Next, you need to assign item categories ACT0, ACT1 and ACT in SPRO, in order to use activity journals.

Business Area as a customer and vendor
Hi Experts,
I want to make a configuration for Automatic posting in Business Areas,
Here Business Area1 will purchase goods from Vendor A and Business Area 2 will make sales to the same vendor A.
At the time of clearing, posting has to happen automatically for Vendor A with BA1 and BA2.

Creating each business area as a vendor/customer will complicate your scenario
Use new GL document splitting and use zero balance clearing account... It will serve the same purpose of creating business area as Cust / Vendor....
Whenever you set off the Vendor & customer balance in your example and pay him the net amount - the entry would also include the zero balance clearing account which will reflect the business area picture also...
Accounting entry in BSEG (Legal View) will be as you have mentioned
The entry in the General Ledger view would be
Bank a/c Dr (Bus Area 5700) - 500
Vendor Dr (Bus Area 5600) - 1000
Customer Cr (Bus Area 5700) 1500
Zero bal clearing (Bus Area 5600) - 1000
Zero bal clearing (Bus Area 5700) - 1000
The Zero bal clearing would mean that, bus area 5700 has made a payment of 1000 behalf of bus area 5600.. This is exactly what you want!!

While making the Internal Order, you are using a company code that intends to create business-area balance sheets. This is why you must enter a business area.
You can see this text if you double-click on the error message that flashes on your status bar at the bottom of your screen, when SAP says "Enter the business area".
Unfortunately, the only way to make this optional is to de-activate Business Area-wise financial statments for your company code, which, I suspect you might not want to do merely to be able to make an Internal Order with a BA.

I am working on Customer Balace Report.In this report list should dispaly with opening balance of a customer of particular business area and debit ,credit values finall i has to show the closing balance detials.I can able to get the debit credit valuies by using function modules.but the problem is how can we get the opening balance values of a Particular customer, particular business area of Fiscal Year.
By using Comapny code wise we can get the opening Balance values.Can any one suggest the solution for how do we get the opening balance detials of particular Business Area of a Customer.

Business area is not reflecting in A/c doc

After creating the sales invoice when accounting doc is generated i can only see the business are for customer line account and sales receivable a/c, but for other accounts like service tax, edu cess, higher edu cess business area is not picking.(in FB03). In configuration we have assigned bus area to plant and division wise.
Where to configure so that Bus Area shouls reflect in all line items in FB02.

Thanks for the reply.But we maintain only one business area for one invoice as it is a service related invoice and the invoice line item is always one.So there is no case of multiple bus area.

If you want to use the "Specify Time-Independent Management of Organiz. Units, in asset accounting under Master Data tab, please read the following SAP Notes:
SAP Note 193233 - Changing organizational unit in asset master record
SAP Note 162247 - Error AU133 or additional line item with transfer
SAP Note 210278 - RW022 when changing organizational units
Furthermore:
Purpose:
If we want to use Time-independent management of organization units, the system manages the rganizational units 'business area' and 'cost center' (and thereby 'profit center') as not time dependent in the asset master records in this company code.
Advantages:
Any change to these organizational units during master data maintenance then automatically generates a transfer posting document.
Disadvantages:
If the indicator is not set, you have to create a new asset master record (only in case of business area change), and manually transfer the entire asset, when the business area changes.
Points to be considered:
1. This method will not change the asset number. However, it will not keep track of the transfers.
2. If you set this indicator, and then change these organizational units in asset master data maintenance, the system replaces the business area and cost center (and profit center) in all existing time intervals by the new assignments.
3. After that, it is no longer possible to report on these organizational units for past time periods in Asset Accounting! This applies even if you later remove the indicator!
4. In short we will lost track of any type of past reporting on business area/Cost center.
Recommendation:
You should only change the standard setting when ALL of the following apply:
1. You do not need a history of the time-dependent assignments of an asset to a business area or cost center.
2. You create business area or profit center balance sheets.
3. You expect to make frequent changes to the assignments to business areas or cost centers.

In G/L account I need Business Area to be displayed.
All settings were done.
Its already working perfectly in a company code.
But I am not able to get it in other company code.
I want it in field status group (G006).
Business area is maintained as optional.
When it is working fine in one company code ,
why not in another?

You can only link to the business area if you have created one in Customizing for Financial Accounting (FI).
When creating/changing business entities, you may be required to enter the business area (required field) even although this field has been set as optional in Customizing. In this case, the field status setting is overridden by the "Enable business area balance sheet" in FI. If this field is set in FI Customizing, the business area field has to be filled in for all FI postings.
For FI postings on Real Estate objects for which there is no business area assignment, the business area is derived from the business entity. Consequently it would not be possible to make automatic postings on Real Estate objects if the business entity has no business area.
The field status control for the business area field on the business entity only has an effect when the business area balance sheet has been disabled in FI.
To post items in a business area, enter the business area when you enter the business transaction. However, the business area can also be derived from other account assignments, such as the cost center. To enable the system to do this, you must define the business area in the cost center master record.
If you enter a cross-company code document, you can post to different business areas across all company codes in one document. As a result, any number of combinations of company code and business area are possible.

Custom created field created using Addon is overlapping in BP Master form

Every thing is working fine but the issue is that when I am maximizing and minimizing the BP form the custom created fields are overlapping with existing SAP B1 field. i have created this fields as the sample specified in SAP B1 SDK.
