I need help getting minecraft demo to play on Mountain Lion.
I have tried many many times to get the demo for minecraft to play on my computer and keep getting the same error report. I switched over to windows and it worked just fine there so I'm pretty sure the problem is Mountain Lion and not the whole computer. I've been looking all over the place for a solution and keep seeing that I need to go to system preferences and security and privacy and go tell it to open stuff from anywhere, and I've tried that, three times, and it still won't work. So now I'm going to post the crash report here and see if anyone can give me a different solution because that one, which seems to work for absolutely everyone else, does diddly-squat for me. Thank you in advance if you can help me fix this.

Java Crashes 64bit - Windows 10
Games and programs on java dont work. Minecraft crash after 3-5 seconds. Windows 10 64bit Technical Preview 10049. Tried everything i could, and nothing helps.
Hi Danilray,
Try the suggestions mentioned in the article below:
Make older programs compatible with this version of Windows
For the game related, please also seek help at the manufacturer side, see if they could offer any further assistance.
Besides, submit what you have encountered through Windows Feedback Tool.

Minecraft and the current kernel.
I've been using Minecraft on Arch for a while and I've had no problems until the recent kernel update. Right now I'm using the fallback
[dbdii407@myhost ~]$ echo `uname -r`
2.6.36-ARCH
... and I believe that's the fallback version.
With whatever version is currently available through pacman, it has a problem with minecraft. I'll connect to a server/play singleplayer and the cursor will come out of the game window, and my system will freeze entirely. I cannot move ANYTHING, it's like ice. So, a day later, I decided to run the fallback since I was getting random kernel panics at boot during times, and sure enough, everything is fine!
If there's any commands you'd wish me to run on my system, I'd be glad to provide those results! I wish to get this resolved.Another kernel has been released for update. This fixes the problem with starting the game and it freezing the system. But after playing for a while, my main monitor will go black and my secondary monitor freezes. I still have to force the computer to restart; there's no kernel errors.
EDIT: This happens with both the normal and fallback kernel. And, to what I have seen, when you attempt to load your world after this problem occurs, minecraft crashes. Once again, There is a kernel update so I will see how this goes.

Nouveau works perfect on chakra but not on archlinux
Hello, I have a NVIDIA GeForce 7025 / nForce 630a. I installed the nouveau drivers and the system works well. At least glxgears works. Anyway, the game minecraft crashes and a couple of days ago this same version of the game in chakra linux with nouveau worked perfectly. If I go into system settings and see details in graphics controller puts unknow.
The error that shows me the hang of minecraft is:
Problematic frame:
# C [nouveau_dri.so x1b2317 +0] +0 _init x25f57
# A fatal error has been detected by the Java Runtime Environment:
# SIGSEGV (0xb) at pc = 0x00007f04362b8317, pid = 1002, tid = 139656239687424
In archlinux nouveau installed as follows:
pacman -S nouveau nouveau-dri
I did nothing more.
Does anyone have any idea?
thanksHello again, thanks for the replies.
Nouveau installed as follows pacman-S xf86-video-nouveau
pacman-S and nouveau. And I have not done anything, I did not add the nouveau module, do not know if I have to set the file in the wiki is not very clear to me how.
I said that in System Preferences > Details > Graphics controller not appeared me anything, just a "unknow", now I get: Gallium 0.4 on NV4C I think the default in archlinux gnome 3. -
Hi I downladed minecraft of tongbu, and it asked for Apple ID, it crashed I think it is used to get Apple ID and use it on MY credit card please tell me what to do. I do not want to factory reset because I have a lot of gaming progress, tell me what should I do, I beg you.
Hello there wkertisrags,
It sounds like you are concerned about your Apple ID security. I would start by resetting your Apple ID password with this article:
Apple ID: Changing your password
http://support.apple.com/kb/ht5624
You can also add some enhanced security with Two-Step Verification, and here is some more information on that:
Frequently asked questions about two-step verification for Apple ID
http://support.apple.com/kb/ht5570
If you feel your account data or security has been compromised you may want to reach out to our Account Security team with this article:

Droid Razr crashes when playing Minecraft
My Droid Razr froze up (crashed) twice when my son was playing Minecraft on my Android Razr. Any ideas why? It had been working fine for a month or more until this happened. I downloaded Minecraft Pocket Edition from Google Play (paid version), and everything was fine until recently.
The following will help you find and use it.
Try running the extended version of your Apple Hardware Test . It's not perfect, but may flag something.

Mac Crashes when Playing Games
The Mac described below sometimes completely freezes, requiring a restart (but not getting a grey screen) when playing CPU-intensive games. It starts to lag badly, then the screen gets messed up (windows leave trails), then eventually the entire computer freezes. The reason I say "games" is because this has never happened in Final Cut Express or anything, but this problem started recently (a month ago) after I upgraded to 10.5.8 so it might not be just for games.
It seems to crash rarely (once every one or two weeks) but in the past few days it has been worse (it crashed three times today). My guess is that it's an OS issue, so I put it under the Leopard forum. I know that this can be complicated to fix, but does anyone know if this is a known issue?
P.S. The apps it has crashed so far on: Age of Empires II, Phun, Super TuxKart, Minecraft, X-PlaneThe following will help you find and use it.
Try running the extended version of your Apple Hardware Test . It's not perfect, but may flag something.

I have a 2010 Macbook pro running snow leopard (Mac OS 10.6.8). First off, this has been the worst computer I've ever owned or have heard of someone having, Mac or PC. There hasn't been a time where something hasn't been wrong. I'm going to list my specs, my current problems and maybe list previous problems after that. Any advice or suggestions would be great. My brother works for apple out in Cali and I've been sending him crash and bug reports and he can't seem to figure out what's going on.
Specs:
2010 Macbook Pro (Mac OSX 10.6.8)
Processor: 2.66 GHz Intel Core i7
Memory: 8 GB 1067 MHz DDR3
Graphics Cards: Intel HD Graphics (288 VRAM) and a NVIDIA GeForce GT 330M (512 VRAM)
(if you want more info, just ask)
To start things off, my computer hard crashes at random points playing basically any game. StarCraft 2 (when I could play the game prior to Blizzard patching my OS out of the minimum requirements), League of Legends, MineCraft and others all crash while in use. My computer screen suddenly flashes white and then to black and whatever audio may have been playing in the past second of gameplay is thrown into a constant loop. The screen is solid black with no mouse and there is no keyboard functionality. The only thing I can do is hold down the power button. I first started noticing this problem back when StarCraft 2 Heart of the Swarm came out. I would crash every 4 or 5 games in this way. Since that was happening I resorted to playing other games such as League of Legends. I wasn't having any trouble at all, but gradually it started to have the hard crashing issues. Initially every handful of games, now it crashes in roughly 50% of the games I play. This happens while I have NO other applications open and this has happened even after a complete restart with only 2 things opening at startup. League started crashing in this way after I brought my computer in to have a fan replaced.
Another thing which has started happening since I had my fan replaced at the apple store: My computer has become very sluggish at times and my computer freezes in another way. Many times a day, I will find I click on something in an application and the entire computer locks up. There's no spinning beachball. There's no movement of any sort on the screen and there is no button functionality, but I can move the mouse. Clicking does nothing. This sort of freeze lasts for about 30 seconds up to 5 or 6 minutes or so. After that, it suddenly just decides to work again. I can tell when it unfreezes because the clock in the corner jumps to the correct time. This has happened frequently while using Google Chrome, Firefox and Safari. It also happened while trying to use Skype. It was freezing the most when facebook or youtube has been open, but it happens without that happening as well. One of the first times I noticed it, earlier this year, I was searching for work and tried to go to this website: http://www.nhab.org/ (looking for a job). It froze my computer as I described above (and I didn't know it would unfreeze after several minutes, so I thought my computer was completely frozen). I restarted, went to the same website and it froze again. I did this a third time and it froze again, so I restarted again. On the fourth try, it loaded. The frequency of this problem is ridiculous. I actually decided to delete Google Chrome from my computer (and its support files) since my computer would freeze the most often with Chrome (though I used Chrome mostly for youtube and watching tv shows online). Almost instantly after deleting Chrome, my computer was running significantly faster. things loaded quicker in other browsers and aplications loaded smoother. My text no longer lagged when typing in facebook... It hasn't solved the freezing, though the freezing tends to last less time now.
Another thing that happens, which I am not sure is normal: When my computer is booting, after the grey screen, it changes to light blue. During this light blue time, often times white horizontal centimeter to inch wide bars will flash across the screen near the top. This also happens on shutting down. I also noticed that when it shuts down the screen doesn't just shut off. The screen flickers quick for up to a second and then it is off. It doesn't just turn off.
My computer has also occassionally flashed for a brief fraction of a second, to the blue start up color and back to whatever I am doing.
Those are all issues I am having right now and I am beginning to wonder if this several thousand dollar computer is capable of doing much more than just writing text..
Prior issues I have had:
Right from the start, I have had major graphical issues which I showed to the people at the apple store and they reinstalled flash, but they really didn't know what was going on. These glitches would tiles previous graphical things I had done in an artistic mozaic across my desktop, replacing my background image with broken mozaics. It's hard to explain without showing, so here are 2 screenshots from it:
The people at the store thought it was just flash... but I don't understand how that could be flash. I would have to flip through different desktop backgrounds I used to make it go away. After it doing this for 2 years, it has only happened once since then and not very badly..
Another issue I had: The battery on my laptop just about exploded... I woke up one morning with my laptop sitting on my night stand as usual, but there was a small crack across part of my trackpad. I was scared because I thought I must have done something... I went to the bathroom, took a shower and when I came back the crack was farther across the trackpad. I had breakfast, came upstairs and my trackpad had 1 crack across the whole thing with multiple mini cracks going in every direction from it. After telling my brother what was going on, he quickly said that it was the battery and to take it to a store. I took it to the store and showed them what was happening and they very quickly took it out back and I quote "threw the battery in a firesafe immediately" because when they opened the laptop it started to quickly expand. This ended up cracking my trackpad as well as bending the bottom of the body on the laptop. All had to be replaced...
Then I had the fan sounding like a weedwacker, so I had it replaced a couple months ago and a couple months ago is when the freezing began, the computer started running slowly and all games crash the computer.
I have had a lot of things go wrong, not a lot of things go right and I'm really frustrated. Can anyone tell me how to get my computer to stop freezing or how to make it stop hard crashing during any of the games I play?
Basically, what I have done so far is reset the PRAM I think? I held command + option + P + R on start up and had it chime 3 or 4 times. Other than that, I don't know what to do.... suggestions?I just wanted to follow this up by saying that you were entirely correct in your diagnosis of the situation. My computer did have the faulty part you linked to. I brought my laptop in and specifically told them to run that test, had it fail and then argued with the person at the genius bar and the manager. Eventually they offered to have it sent out and have everything replaced for free of charge. They did so mainly because I had complained about graphical issues almost every other time I had come in with problems and no one ran the test. They should have caught this problem during my warranty, but they didn't, even though I mentioned the problem.
Anyhow, after having the part replaced, I haven't had my computer crash a single time since, or had many of the issues mentioned above. I've never had this experience before. Even brand new, I got occasional crashes. Hopefully this new trend continues.
I do find that web browsing is still incredibly slow. Web browsers just chug along at a slow pace, even though I have great internet speed. Maybe I'll try just deleting my web browsers and reinstalling them...
Anyhow, thank you for your help and knowledge Clinton. -
Minecraft server script (run minecraft server as a daemon in Arch)
Hey all, I just finished editing and setting up a nice script to run a Minecraft server at boot in Arch. This is based on the original script on the minecraft wiki here. I've edited it to be suitable to place in your /etc/rc.d/ folder with the name "minecraft" (/etc/rc.d/minecraft).
This requires a user "minecraft" with the home directory /home/minecraft to work by default.
I decided I wanted to run the server entirely in RAM so I store all my files in /home/minecraft/backup while the server is offline. When it starts up it makes a tmpfs mount at /home/minecraft/minecraft and copies all the files there and runs from there. It makes an hourly backup using /etc/rc.d/backup stored in /home/minecraft/onlinebackup, first erasing the current backup and creating a new one. This is simply to save space. In the event of a crash without proper stopping of the daemon you will have a backup from your previous reboot (or restart of your minecraft server) in /home/minecraft/backup and one from within the previous hour in /home/minecraft/onlinebackup which I figure ought to be enough. You can manually backup at any time by restarting the daemon.
All paths can be altered. You can run this game under your normal user if you wish, just change the Settings section at the top of the file. RAM amounts may need to be increased for both the server and for the tmpfs, depending on how large your files are (mine are tiny and I have not heard of over 48MB for a game world, but you never know). Just check up on df -h every now and again to make sure your tmpfs has plenty of space, or just increase the allocated maximum size from the start. If you have low RAM you can always change the script to simply not use tmpfs.
If anyone wants, just ask and I can put up a version without tmpfs (should be easy enough to remove yourself but if you're not sure I'll do it for you)
All you need to start off with (if starting your server for the first time, using the scrip as is) is the user minecraft created, with the folders backup, onlinebackup and minecraft in the folder /home/minecraft, your minecraft_server.jar file in /home/minecraft/backup and your oninebackup file in /home/minecraft/backup.
NOTE: onlinebackup file runs from /home/minecraft/minecraft so that if your system crashes, the cron job to run the backups will fail because the link will point to a non-existant file until server is started again.
You can use these commands to with the server: /etc/rc.d/minecraft {start|stop|restart|update|backup}
The backup system is designed to wipe all previous sessions' backups upon starting the server, so do not set it to start the server at boot.

UPDATE:
rationalOgre has created an alternate script with a different backup system, which will keep compressed copies of your world indefinitely, along with a working update function. https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php … 97#p944797
Last edited by PIMPinator (2011-06-08 14:00:54)@PIMPinator - Weird. On mine, if I don't source /etc/profile it won't work. No clue what the difference is. I tested it after I got it up and running, removing different elements to see if one or the other was the problem. Without it all in place it just didn't work.
I made some modifications to your script today. Fixed "update" so it works properly. (You had it running mc_backup after mc_stop, which never worked on my system.) I basically reworked it so it runs the backup, then stops the server and performs the update in the ~/backup directory, then restarts the server. I also completely overhauled the "backup" system. (for this to work you have to comment out the rm -rf ~/onlinebackup/* directive in the onlinebackup script.) Now, it creates 4 rolling backups of the server, in tar.gz format. What this means is that over time, you will accumulate the last 4 backups for each day in your ~/onlinebackup folder. I thought about creating a cleanup function to cull anything over 2 days old but to be honest, even if your world was > 50MB, zipped up it's going to be about ~20mb which means you can have 50 of them and only be taking up a gig of server space. Anyway, here's the code if you are interested.

IMac Crashing; No Fixes Working/Getting a Chance to Work
Hi, this is my first time on these forums asking a question, so forgive me if I've categorised this wrong or something.
I use my iMac nearly everyday for browsing the Internet, word prossessing, digital drawing and playing Minecraft. So, personally, I don't think it is ever being put to degree of stress because I've been doing those same tasks on it for well over a year and it has run smoothly and given me no trouble. However, two days ago, I logged in and got a finder error message, which although I found odd, I simply okayed, not really taking a note of it as I in no way expected crashing issues to arise from it. The error code started with something like -108, which I now believe was the code -10810.
So I continued using the computer after I okayed the message, only to find that Skype (which automatically opens at login) quit unexpectedly. After clicking the "reopen" button on the report, the Skype icon bounced once, the blue light underneath appearing for a second. After this I noticed the finder report and clicked it's "reopen" button and thought it didn't work as the report was still there, but it was in fact a second report as every time I tired to open finder, I would receive a new report in mere mili-seconds. I tried other programs such as Safari and Minecraft and they all wouldn't open. Then I went to restart the computer when I noticed the Apple icon and toolbar missing. So I shut down the computer using the power button.
On reboot, things started going crazy. Booting took a while, when it loaded the desktop, it would fade to blue for a few seconds then fade back to the desktop. After a few minutes, the dark, transparent curtain moved down the screen and the message "You have to restart your computer" appeared.
I've tried numerous times to find out the problem/fix it but nothing seems to be working. Worse, the computer either crashes/freezes at login, crashes within seconds of reaching the desktop or works fine (with noticable odd things occurring [such as the screen going blue, desktop items disappearing and then reappearing] but if I try to run things that may help fix my problems (such as software update, reinstalling OS X) the computer crashes/freezes.
What I've tired so far:
The reset (I can't remember the name) where you detach the power cable and hold down the power button for five seconds, then reattach the cable and turn on the computer. No apparent effect.
Safe Mode:
Worked first time, however it crashed while on the desktop on second and third use, after which I haven't used it.
Single-User Mode for fsck:
fsck ran fine, reporting that it did alter something and I had hoped that this had fixed it, but as soon as I reached the desktop, the iMac crashed.
Software Update:
My Internet is bad enough as it is (less than 1MB/Sec, problem with living in a rural area and being on a contract until October) so I haven't been keeping up with some updates as it takes forever to download them. However, anytime I try to update now, the computer either crashes, won't open Software Update or freezes while it goes to install the updates.
Disk Utility:
Found nothing wrong.
Reinstalling Mac OSX: (Via holding down C at bootup and from the disk if I reach the desktop.)
Either the computer freezes on the Apple logo and spinning gear (which usually doesn't even appear whenever I booted up the iMac) when I hold down C, or it will freeze/crash as the computer tries to restart opening the utilities panel if I run the reinstall from the desktop.
Everytime I've tried to boot the computer today (day three) has resulted in the computer staying on the Apple logo and spinning gear. So without going any further, I decided to ask this to the community because nothing seems to be working, worse being the fact that I'm just on my holidays from University and I'm pretty much lost without the computer
As for the iMac's details I'm really not sure since I generally use the "About this Mac..." feature which I can't get to now. Although I think the only important bits is that it is running on OSX Snow Leopard 10.6.8 with no external hard drives.
I'd really appretiate any help, thanks
AletonumOne of the memory cards was indeed faulty, and the other completely fine
Thanks very much for all your help!
Although there is one little thing that I've noticed. The iMac works properly, but I tried to software update to see if that may help my Minecraft sound issue (as I still don't think only having 2GB instead of 4GB would cause such a problem) but the software update application won't work. Running the "Software Update" from the apple menu on the toolbar gains no response, nothing happens. If I run the software update from system preferences, the application icon appears for a second, then disappears (as in the blank app. icon, the blank canvas with the pencil, pen and ruler in the bottom right corner). It does this every time I try to run it. It did work when the computer was crashing, but this started when on one of the occasions I ran the app. while it was crashing. Since this occured during the crashes, and still occurs now, I'm wondering did something simlar happen minecraft, as it's sound disappeared during the crashes and is still gone now.
However, the computer is now working again without crashes, which is the main thing, thanks for helping me fix the issue
Edit: I would mark the topic as solved, but I'm unsure if this would lock the topic or something simlar, so I'd rather leave it open for any ideas regarding the software update and Minecraft issues I'm having -
System crash when gaming (Update: Temperature Problem?)
Hello there
I have a problem: when starting games (Minecraft, Relics of Annorath, Portal, World of Goo tested) my Laptop crashes. The screen gets black and the only possibility to turn it back on is to remove the battery, wait 10 seconds and then reboot. I don't see any error messages, not in the journal and not in the Xorg.0.log. I have a HP 8470w with a Intel i7-3610QM Quad Core and a AMD FirePro M2000 grapics card. I am running kernel 3.10.10-ARCH with fglrx. Is anyone aware of this problem or can help me even just pointing out where to look for the problem? If you need more info, please tell me.

After not finding anything in my graphic settings I just ran lm_sensors with the following output:

Could these 127°C be the problem? It's getting pretty hot while gaming but 127°C is almost impossible...
Last edited by strix (2013-09-05 09:49:24)temp6, temp7, temp8 are strange.... but because it's impossible reach these temps (+127 and +0) I think those sensors are not used or bad report data
if you think it's a overheating problem, you must log temps (sensord+rrdtool)
so you'll get the latest temps before the PC crashes -
How to fix graphic freeze while playing minecraft?
Hi
My computer freezes every time I try playing minecraft. It works for the first 30/40min, but crashes more and more frequently after this (every 2/3 min for longer and longer periods of time!).
If I stop playing for an hour or two, for some reason it works again.
I am running no other program apart from minecraft and Hamachi to connect to the server (I am not the local host).
I have a macbook pro 12-inch, mid 2012 runinf a 2.5 GHz processor. I have 4GB memory and my graphic card is the intel HD Graphic 4000.
Sofware up to date on OS X Lion 10.7.5.
Anyone else getting this??? Or better yet how to fix this!!
Thank you
MartinTry downloading a different minecraft launcher, like tekkit launcher, and switch it to vanilla mode. Once you are there it should run smoothly. Another option is to go into options and try using Maximum FPS and keep your rendering distance at tiny-small
