Minimize teststand window programmatically?

How do I get teststand to minimize it's execution window programmatically within a sequence step? How do I mess with any of the window propertys like making it always on top, maximizing, floating, etc...

Hi,
Are you talking about the sequence editor? To do this you need to use the Windows API to perform functions on windows. You can call into the User32.lib and call functions such as CloseWindow (minimize) to manipulate the Windows on the screen. Not sure how you would get about minimizing an execution window inside the parent sequence editor window, but I would think it should be possible. Consult MSDN for more information.

  • Minimize output window

    Hello,
    My test consist of one CVI function, that contains some printf lines.
    In other words my function prints runtime test results in stdout.
    Each time when print occurs teststand output window activate and maximize itself.
    My test is long enough and It's really ugly and irritating to minimize it each time.
    Could you help me? Anybody knows how can I minimize output window?
    My be I can to minimize it from code?
    Thanks

    Try looking at some of these methods:
    SetStdioWindowOptions()
    SetStdioWindowPosition()
    SetStdioWindowSize()
    SetStdioWindowVisibility()
    You can read about them in the CVI Help.  Even though you see the TestStand symbol on that I/O window it is really CVI that is generating it when you do a printf.  TestStand just owns it.  You can set different options for the window using these functions.
    Hope this helps,

  • Forms10g+JRE: minimize IE window after logon

    Dear professionals,
    is there anyway to programmatically minimize internet explorer (or firefox) window after user logon to application (except manually, of course :) )? We use JRE instead Jinitiator and property separate_window=true. Since users sometimes accidentally close opened IE windows, so they close application - i would like to minimize such possibility.
    Thanks in advance,
    Adnan

    Basically there are the
    htmlBeforeFormand
    htmlAfterFormParameters in the formsweb.cfg where you can add additional html and also JavaScript. Just search on google how to minimize a window via JavaScript and put it in the htmlAfterForm
    This will minimize the Browser window when loading your forms appliction. If you want to perform javascript on certain events (e.g. in a WHEN-BUTTON-PRESSED Trigger) you can do this with
    web.show_documentjust search the forum here on JavaScript and take a look. I'm sure you'll find a starting point. Of course if you are having troubles or something is not clear to you do not hesitate to ask :)
    cheers
    P.S.: As JavaScript implementations differ between browsers I can guarantee you headaches; what workes in IExplorer won't work in Firefox and vice versa; if you are having troubles with this please add full browser versions as well as this definitely matters in this case.

  • I think there is a problem with the latest version of Firefox. When you minimize one window (doesn't matter how many tabs) on Mac, it automatically minimizes all of the other open windows. This never used to happen.

    Whenever you have multiple windows open - say one is your Gmail account and the other is a bunch of pages you're using at work - and then you go to minimize the window with Gmail but intend to continue working on the other open windows. Using Command-M (the minimize shortcut for Macs) unfortunately now sends all open windows to the minimize bar in the lower right. Which means - every time I go to look at Gmail, then put it away, I have to reclick to open all of the other windows I was working in. Can this be fixed? It never used to happen.
    == This happened ==
    Every time Firefox opened
    == I upgraded to the latest version of Firefox

    Because OS X 10.4* does not have what is needed by Firefox 4.0 and newer.
    Linux users are in a similar boat also as they need certain package versions within the last few years as LTS distros (with outdated packages from 4+ years ago) like CentOS is a bit screwed on newer applications like Firefox 4.0. By your logic Mozilla should also support Linux packages from 10 years ago also which would be a really ridiculous thing to do.
    I think only the 64-bit Windows Vista and Windows 7 is really supported or will be rather when it comes to 64-bit builds (still not officially supported yet).
    Mozilla is still supporting Firefox 3.6 with updates, in which 3.6.16 can be found at http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html

  • Whenever I launch a new Google window, Google immediately re-opens all other windows I happen to have open but minimized. I then have to either close or re-minimize each window, one at a time. What a pain!!

    Whenever I launch a new Google window, Google immediately re-opens all other windows I happen to have open but minimized. I then have to either close or re-minimize each window, one at a time. What a pain!!

    Just to address the last point: check your History menu to see whether you have the Restore Previous Session option and use that if you can. If that is grayed out or doesn't restore everything, check the Recently Closed Windows and Recently Closed Tabs lists for other pages.
    The unwanted window may be generated by an add-on. Try disabling ALL nonessential or unrecognized extensions on the Add-ons page. Either:
    * Ctrl+Shift+a
    * "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons
    In the left column, click Extensions. Then, if in doubt, disable.
    Usually a link will appear above at least one disabled extension to restart Firefox. You can complete your work on the tab and click one of the links as the last step.
    Any improvement?
    Here are some other things to check:
    (1) user.js file that changes Firefox startup behavior and overrides your preferences. This article describes how to track that down and delete it if you have one: [[How to fix preferences that won't save]].
    (2) Possible hijacked shortcut. Check the "target" of the desktop icon you use to start Firefox to see whether it lists the unwanted page. To do that:
    right-click the icon > Properties > Shortcut tab
    For 64-bit Windows 7, the Target should be no more and no less than this:
    "C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe"
    (3) Possible undisclosed bundle items. If you have installed any free software recently, check your Windows Control Panel, Uninstall a program for surprises. If you click the "Installed on" column head to group by date, it is easier to spot bundled junk. Remove everything suspicious or unrecognized.
    (4) Supplemental clean up scans. Our support article lists tools other Firefox users have found helpful: [[Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware]].
    Hopefully that cures it.

  • Save File dialog from dll is not appearing to the front of TestStand window

    Hi all,
    I am calling a C#.net dll from a step in TestStand sequence. A function is called which pops up a Save File dialog. This Save File dialog is appearing only behind other windows. There is an overload for the showDialog function that takes the owner form as argument. My dll doesnot have a form. I would like to know how can I pass the TestStand form as owner to this Save File dialog object.
    Thanks in advance

    Biju,
    You can build create the implement the IWin32Window interface and get the handle of TestStand window. I have created an example you can check out.

  • How do you minimize the window when the top of the page is above screen height in ubuntu 12.04, so I can't see the tabs, let alone using the normal minimize

    Hi there, every now and then when i maximixe or minimize a window. The top of the window is above the screen so I am unable to see the tabs or anything above the address bar, is the a way to minimize using the menu, or a configuration file I can alter to stop it going above the top of the screen. It's a pain having to restart the system / firfox when you have a handfull of tabs open while researching and then having to remember which sites you had open to reopen them. thanks

    Use the F11 key or move the mouse pointer to the top of the screen.
    I am using Ubuntu 12.0.4 with various versions of Firefox installed, I think that works with them all.

    Actually, I suspect you can't. You get various behaviors based on a combination of settings in Preferences > Interface; namely Open Documents as Tabs and Enable Floating Document Window Docking; but it doesn't seem to make much sense as far as I can tell. Throw in the additional "application frame" wildcard on a Mac, and even just exploring the effects of the settings and drawing conclusions about them gets tricky. It sounds like you've got your windows floating, whereas I suspect many if not most users have opted for the more structured and seemingly more logical tabbed/docked method, in which case they haven't encountered your issue and don't really understand it. One might ask; if your new/current document is "in front" then what difference does it make if others behind it are minimized, maximized, or something in between?

  • Minimize all windows at once?

    I've got the Browser, Viewer, Canvas and Timeline windows open in the standard arrangement, and want to minimize them all so I can work on something else for a minute. I know how to minimize each window one at a time, but is there some way I can minimize them all with one command?

    Cmd-H will hide the app. Cmd-tab will toggle between open apps.

  • Minimize Document Window

    I have a script that runs fine processing multiple documents while leaving a selected document open. At various times I have to activate that document and in Photoshop 7 the document stays minimized, but in CS2 (version 9) it becomes restored.
    Is there a way to script a document window to minimize?
    Many thanks,
    Ken

    Aha,... but you see Adobe engineering is too crafty to be simply foiled by us clever little foxes.
    The shortcuts don't work. Nor will clicking in the window menu for the same commands work.
    As soon as you minimize a window in PS on a PC, it utterly and entirely disappears from PS. The document is in memory, but the window is puff gone. PS know's where it was, and will restore it when instructed to by the OS. But PS itself has 0% knowledge of a "window" once you minimize it, nor any means within PS to retrieve it. You have to go outside and access it from the OS.
    I get the sneaking suspicion that the committee meeting dealing with this change in operation had something to do with jettisoning window frame management to the OS. On macs it's ok, because after all, what designer designs on something other than a mac amirte?
    On PC's it's no bueno. Because, Bill Gates? /shrugs
    Can I pay Adobe to just give me an update version of PS 7.5 ? That... would be so awesome. I guess right after I get all the kids off my lawn. lol
    Thanks everyone.

  • Generic code to minimize all windows in a form

    I want to write a procedure to minimize all windows in a form. This procedure will be called from a menu item.
    This can be done by using SET_WINDOW_PROPERTY built-in by hardcoding window names in the form and setting the window state to MINIMIZE.
    The requirement is, the code should be generic. So that, if it is called form the menu item, it will do minimizing of all windows in the current form.
    Hope no form built-ins are available to get the list of window names in a form.
    The requirement can be done by using FORMS The. I doubt it will not work for three tier architecture. Any alternate ways to get a solution?

    You can loop through all blocks and items and collect the used window names.

  • When I minimize a window, it disappears completely as if I exited it altogether, why?

    After I installed the new update for firefox and i tried out several different themes, I found that when I minimize a window it disappears completely instead of just going down like normal. I wish it didn't do that, I miss the other feature.
    == This happened ==
    Just once or twice
    == This started after I downloaded the update and tried out different themes.

    This worked for me.
    Apparently Firefox sometimes minimizes to a tiny off-screen window. To get it back:
    1. In the taskbar, right-click on Firefox, then left-click "restore"
    2. In the taskbar, right-click on Firefox, then left-click "move"
    3. Use the arrow keys to move the Firefox window until it re-appears.
    4. Once it does, click and drag to enlarge it.
    It should now minimize properly.

    Hello!
    does anybody know how to open the "Render window" of a 3D graph programmatically?
    Thanks
    I ask my question for the second time because nobody replied the first time, maybe it was not clear.

    Thanks Darin,
    it's what I'm looking for but I'm not using the same picture control so the idea is quite different. Attached some screenshots to show what I'm using exactly. If you have any idea how to open that Render Window programmatically, that would be really nice.
