MiniWAS 6.20
Hi all:
Just wondering if someone could advise me on the following: I'm currently working in the area of SD,MM and wish to add ABAP to my list of skills, not having access to the NW Server I believe their is a book ABAP Objects, which includes a disk with a version of miniWAS 6.20 enabling you to develop ABAP applications on desktop! Therefore is this development software similar to the development environment with the SAP NW Server? Using this kit will I be able to develop appilcations for the SD environment? My main goal is to develop ABAP skills in own time, therefore any recommendations anyone can give would be very much appreciated.

MiniWAS 6.20 Installation Problem on XP Pro

I am one of the hordes of people having problems installing MiniWAS 6.20. I had MiniWAS 6.10 formerly installed. I ran the Uninstall script first. Then I procedded to stop the x_server and do a db_cold, stop & drop on WA1. I then did a stop on the other instance (name escapes me). I then was able to delete the SAPDB folder. I also proceeded to delete other SAP related files.
Confident that I had wiped out any trace of 6.10, I then tried to install 6.20. This is the end of the first BSP.log:

I have since visited the SAP Press German board SAP Fans and this board. It seems many people are having similar problems. One entry on the SAP Press board seems to indicate that there are some errors in the scripts on the installation CD.
I have gone into the registry editor but have not touched anything since I do not feel confident about my registry knowledge.
Any feedback is appreciated. I am trying to get set up for a new gig starting on Monday.
Someone has suggested that I delete my installtion logs (Docu~\<name>\Local Settings\Temp\BSPinst\ -- ???). Others have suggested that I make sure no services are dedicated to ports (do I do this in Windows Firewall --> Exceptions and delete msg_server, grwd, disp+work, etc??)

I exactly had the same problem while installing the SAP WAS 6.10. The setup stops at 28%. in the services i could see the "SAPDB: _CSAPDBW" & "SAPDB:WA1" still being listed. they cant be run as the associated files are deleted.
FOLLOWING ARE THE DETAILS----
I am trying to install demo version of MINISAP 6.10 on my machine and am getting the following error.
step 1 ) it says database instance WA1 already exists . cleanup database instance WA1 for new instalaltion ?
how do i delete the existing database instance WA1 ? i tried removing the related files and registry keys. i couldnt see any file related to database instance WA1 in my system. what else do i need to do to remove database instance WA1 . i could see two services "SAPDB:-CSAPDBW" & "SAPDB:WA1" in windows services . how do i delete this.

from here the installtion doesnt proceed further.
I already installed MINISAP on my machine before and when I tried uninstalling that, I had encountered problems during that phase. so i tried removing the registry keys and files manually. I guess this had made the problem worse.
However when i tried to re install the software again, its causing error. any help reg the same would be greatly appreciated.

Error on Startup MiniWAS 6.2 - DBIF_RSQL_INVALID_REQUEST
Dear All,
We are facing a strange issue when trying to call into the newly installed MiniWAS 6.2 system. We have installed SAP MiniWAS 6.2 on Windows XP. The laptop is not connected to any network. We have configured MS loopback adapter as well. The details of the IP address has been entered in the hostfile as well. But when we log into the SAP system, we get this dump
DBIF_RSQL_INVALID_REQUEST
Error analysis: Invalid request while Database interface when accessing table "DOKTL"
What could be the issue?
We are totally stuck.
Please help us out.

RajeetDBIF means "Database Interface", it has nothing to do with network (or not) in the first place.
That error accessing table DOKTL is documented (Note 359463) and is some error in decompressing cluster tables.
Without knowing more about the full error message (not the error of the dump but the reason causing the dump), one can´t say what´s wrong but just guess.

Hi, In BW , I create a source system to connect my miniwas system.
I read in the forums that you need to create a datasource in rso2 transaction to extract a ztable from r/3 and replicate it in BW. But in the miniwas system the transaction rso2 doesn´t exist.
If I want to extract a ztable from miniwas to bw
How I can do that?? (A step by step procedure, please)

José Angel, I'm beginner in Bw.If you don´t have th RS02 you can´t load the z table directly from MiniWas to BW...i think that Mini was doesn´t have the functionality for work with BW.....
Instead you can load the data using a CSV file....you can download the data into a CSV file and in BW you can create an Infopackage for the File Logical System and you cand load your data...

I worked myself through Craigs Weblogs and some Forum Post and upgraded my MinWas succesfully to Patch 53 (Basis and ABAP) But now I'm stuck at 54.
I've applied all the latest kernel patches, single files,
tp, r3* etc.
Symptom:
System hangs now in Phase DDIC_Activation for ever!
Transport System Check ist okay.
Deleted Buffer and readded. -> No effect
Resceduled Background Job -> No effect
Additionally I found this message in slogo532.bsp:

I've read the all-together-Patch note, but did not find any reference to any conditions regarding Patch 54.
Even the patch note itself states only the preceding patch 53 as necessary.
But since there are errors written I will try to work a long those.

In 46C the syntax was a little bit different:
when you paste this code to a 46C system, the syntax check will be ok.
In higher release it won't be ok. So if you copy it to a customer namerange eg ZS_ITAB_ACCESS and modify like this, it will be ok.
Since you cannot change program S_ITAB_ACCESS, there is not much you can do with the transport.

MiniWAS: Just a guess on emails
HI everyone,
I have recently installed a MiniWAS on my labtop. And after a really hard time with Support packages (now I am over SP 39) and getting some stable system I have been able to work. I keep having some troubles with STMS config. I am not able to upload anything. And of course I cannot get thru BSP tutorials due to some error with domain or something like that. This issues are right now parked. I really had huge headaches trying to solve them. (I hope to get some energy and get back to this "headaches" soon).
However, now I try to send an email from SAP outside. Is it possible, I have XP Home edition on my labtop, and I think I should update to XP professional?. is it right?
Please, some guidance on it would be great.

Web Dynpro with Bapis using Miniwas 6.20 or Sneak Preview 6.40 ABAP
Does anyone know if I can I use a web Dynpro that uses BAPIs to connect to a Miniwas 6.20 like a Backend system?
I have the SLD configuration OK, I was able to create the Jco connection, but when I test the Metadata application with this Technical System (Miniwas 6.20) at the Content Administrator I get an error message: "Group PUBLIC not found" (I also tried with SPACE, like a Logon Group). I have the corresponding settings in the service file on Windows folder (sapmsBSP 3600) and the others settings too.
I think the problem is to try to define Logon Groups at this kind of R/3 system (Miniwas 6.20) ... It's possible to use Logon Group with Miniwas?
I want to know if somebody had tried to do this practice (Web Dynpro using BAPIS)against to Miniwas System.

You have to configure the PUBLIC logon group in SMLG transaction.
Once configured the SLD and JCO-Destinations in the WebDynpro Content Administrator, we had the same problem with METADATA_DIRECTORY JCO-Connection. When we tested it, we got an error related with the PUBLIC LOGON GROUP. This JCO destination is a metadata directory connection and use the SAP message server to connect to the PUBLIC logon group.
You can create the PUBLIC logon group easly with SMLG, but it is necesary to add a "Logon Favorite Storage" in "SMLG Transaction - Display control/status Area" called PUBLIC too.

Hi I have installed succefully Miniwas in my PC, It work perfectly during couple of months, then suddenly I tried to start application and I could not, I got this error during start batch

when you or a script that starts the SAP System
starts the database with command "dbmcli -U db_warm"
the MaxDB/SAPDB uses a mechanism to look up so called xusers with entry name "default" to find a user with which the SAP system can connect to the database. this list is OS user dependent. Meaning that if you do a "c:>xuser list" on the command prompt for user OSUserA there are user maintained whereas when you are logged in with OSUserB and do the same thing there are no users maintained meaning you end up with an empty list displaying nothing.
So my first guess would be that you do not start the system with the user you have installed the miniSAP system because the list is only maintained for the user you did installed the system with.
If this is the case try to start the system with the OS
user you have used while installation of. If the current user is the installation user you have lost for some reason the xuser list entries. Then you have to rebuild this by hand with command
xuser -d <dbname> -n <dbhost> -u <Schema>,<Schema_Password>
-U DEFAULT -S SAPR3 -t 0 -l 0 set
of course therefore you have to know the user and password inside the Database to make SAP connect to it.
Another option would be to install the Database Manager Gui from http://www.sapdb.org/7.4/sap_db_software.htm do a backup of your database. Then throw away the complete system. do a reinstallation of the MiniSAP and then recover the database over the new installed one. This will reset you to have a running system with all the stuff you have done inside the system before

The name of your computer (host) is too long. Change the name of your computer, so the name is 13 or less characters in length.
There should be a document on disk 1 called FAQ_E.doc that lists known issues with the install.
There are newer versions of miniSAP than 6.10 available. NW04S ABAP is available here at SDN in the download section.

I have a some questions regarding the installation and configuration of MiniWAS and BW,
First of all, I have an IDES version of BW and miniWAS
1) Can i configure BW with MiniWAS(SAP DB)? Yes or No ?
2) Can I install BW on an EXTERNAL HARD DISK (80GB) which has an Operating System installed on it? and get connected thru the USB of the Ext-Hard Disk
to my LAPTOP which has miniWAS installed? (The main question is does BW require a Processor? As such External HD doesn't have any processors..?) .
I guess u can suggest me about installing on BW on Desktop and miniWAS on LAPTOP start learning.. I travel frequently sometimes 5hrs I cannot carry a desktop in that situation (hahaha) and I want to learn BW also in such traveling.. would be thankful if anyone can help me out in this..

Miniwas 620: Problems to configure TMS
Hi Guys,
I successfully installed miniwas 6.20 (before I had 6.10).
I'm having problems to configure the transport system. After following all the steps, when I run the report ZR3_TMS_CONFIG and go back after displaying the list, I get the error message: error configuring domain controller!
I tried the report RSTPTEST. I got the following message:

this link takes to SAP-Press.de, there your find a name "Kernel-Patches für SAP Web AS ABAP 6.20" you have to download these patches, but for downloading these files you need to have register key and the you have to unpack them in prompt command and copy the files in the MiniWAS and then start the SAP ABAP engine. You can ignore the error "1864" and start your SAP logon. It should function. I have solved my problem like this.

Steveby Netweaver if you mean Netweaver Portal yes you can do that, but if its Netweaver WAS ABAP engine, you cannot do that.

is it possible to install both MiniWAS 6.20 AND SneakPreview 6.40 on one System ?
In the SneakPreview 6.40 help-File is says:
"If you have installed a previous version of SAP Web Application Server, you have to remove it prior to installing this edition."
I just installed miniwas 6.20 and dont want to crash it by installing sneak preview.
Any comments ?
elkoI shut down all database services (as I used a win2000 system), renamed the sapdb root directory and started a new sapdb installation with the installer from the WAS 6.40 Sneak Preview DVD. Finally you have to change the configuration settings (database id etc.).
Since I am quite new to SAP I cannot estimate if the change succeeded.
However, there might be an easy way to match your requirement:
The WAS 6.40 CeBIT distribution is available for download:
ftp://ftp.sap.com/pub/linuxlab/test_drive/
It contains both ABAP and J2EE stack on a single system. It is reported that an installation succeeds without any problems on a suse linux entreprise server. Since I am waiting for those WAS CD's I cannot give more advice now. Recent linux distributions are reported to fail. Maybe it depends on the kernel. Do not use 2.6 kernels. -

My license has expired for miniWAS 6.20. The instructions I have for extending the license is as follows: "For extending your license key, execute saplicense.exe, and follow the instructions in the documentation "Installing the SAP License" that you find on CD1 -- in the file mini_doc.htm."
However, there does not exist a file in CD1 called "mini_doc.htm". Hence there is no proper information as to how to extend the license.
Can someone tell me from where I can get the correct instructions to extend license for miniWAS 6.20 ?

First of all its not a prerequisite to be connected to the INTERNET for installing miniWAS.. I understand the problem because it checks for the ADAPTER to be connected which is possible with Internet and also without being connected to the INTERNET for that u have to Install an ADAPTER by microsoft if ur Operating System is from Microsoft which is called the MICROSOFT LOOPBACK adapter..
START-CONTROLPANEL- ADD HARDWARE- in the list of adapter choose for MICROSOFT LOOPBACK ADAPTER install it and change ur date in ur DATE and TIME PROPERTIES to 2009 and Install miniWAS.. and u can work with miniWAS staying OFFLINE..
