Mis-configured Installer

Hey, I've downloaded some drops from the prerelease program of Adobe, which includes sdk of .air files, and when I try to open and install them this message pops out:
This application cannot be installed because this installer has been mis-configured. Please contact the application author for assistance.
Any solutions?
Thanks!
Matthew
PS: I'm on a Mac running 10.6.7 software

Hi Mateote,
Could you test with the below 2 steps first?
1> Install latest AIR runtime(http://get.adobe.com/air/)
2> With latest AIR runtime installed, re-install AIR applications
If failed, please provide the application which you want to install.
Regards,
Qingyan

...trying to install Adobe Acrobat XI. The message reads " Installer mis-configured." Clearly, I can't proceed. Is a new version of the installer available? I'm not having a lot of luck with downloads from the Adobe site these days. I'm not too confident about purchasing online given two bad experienes with files that are missing (dll) and now this installer problem.

Thank you for replying, Jeff. I'm running Windows 7 -- 64 bit. Also, once the.exe file downloaded, I clicked "Run."

Totally Frustrated what are you clicking on prior to receiving the message the Installer is Mis-configured?  Also which operating system do you have installed?

  • Trying to download adobe acrobat, it says "this installer has been mis-configured"

Trying to download a trail for adobe acrobat on my mac and it keeps saying theres an error and "This application cannot be installed because this installer has been mis-configured. Please contact the application author for assistance." I want to try it ASAP so quick assistance needed, thanks Appreciate it

Phillip please remove your previous installation of the Adobe Download Assistant.  Once removed you should be able to download and install the Adobe Download Assistant.
You may have some difficulty locating a page which offers it though as most of our trials are now offered through the Adobe Application Manager.  You can use the same link for Photoshop Elements which is offered in the discussion referenced by Rave in message #5 to obtain a copy of the Adobe Download Assistant from there.
Alternately you can try the direct download option as offered by Rave and bypass the use of the Adobe Download Assistant.

  • Installer mis-configured

I am running 10.8.2 on a imac and just tried downloading the trial version of Photoshop CS6 but got the error message.  "Sorry, an error has occured.  This application cannot be installed because this installer has been mis-configured.  Please contact the application author for assistance."
Does anyone have any idea how to correct this?

Hey Everyone - I have the same problem here.  I have Adobe Photoshop Elements 10 and Premier Elements 10 already installed (along with Adobe Air, Flash, etc) on my iMac running OSX 10.8.2.  I visited Adobe's site and clicked the Try link for Photoshop Elements 11.  The Adobe Download Assistant started and prompted me to install a new version.  I clicked Download and the progress bar got to the end, and then....nothing happened.  It was like the Adobe Download Assistant was frozen.  I deleted the Adobe Download Assistant entirely and tried to re-install it, but then I started getting the "Sorry, an error has occured.  This application cannot be installed because this installer has been mis-configured.  Please contact the application author for assistance." error message.
I deleted Adobe Air and re-installed the latest version successfully.  But all attempts to install the Adobe Download Assistant result in the "Sorry, an error has occured.  This application cannot be installed because this installer has been mis-configured.  Please contact the application author for assistance." error message.

  • Unable to install Adobe Download Assistant due to the installer being mis-configured

Download Assistant offers the upgrade from 1.0.6 to 1.2.5, so I "download now" but it won't install because "This application cannot be installed because this installer has been mis-configured. Please contact the application author for assistance." I have repeated the process and get the same response every time. And I cannot run my InCopy CS6 without this.

Branching this to a new discussion.  Natbelz this topic has been covered at http://forums.adobe.com/message/5033774#5033774.  Please see this discussion for a solution to your current difficulties.

  • Install error: "This application cannot be installed because this installer has been mis-configured.

I need help with an error I am receiving. I'm on a Mac with OS X Mavericks. I just attempted to install the Photoshop Elements trial and, in attempting to open the "Install Adobe Download Assistant", I received this error:
    "Sorry, an error has occurred.
This application cannot be installed because this installer has been mis-
configured. Please contact the application author for assistance."
I did attempt to download a new copy of the installer, with the same result.

    you can download directly:
if you follow all 7 steps you can directly download a trial here:  http://prodesigntools.com/photoshop-elements-12-direct-download-links-premiere.html
if you have a problem downloading, you didn't follow all 7 steps, or your browser does not accept cookies.
the most common problem is caused by failing to meticulously follow steps 1,2 and/or 3 (which adds a cookie to your system enabling you to download the correct version from adobe.com).
failure to obtain that cookie results in an error page being displayed after clicking a link on prodesigntools.com
