Missing Novell Patches like iPrint

I'm trying to find Novell iPrint client patches, but so far came to the conclusion that those are not included in ZPM. :/
The only patch that includes the word 'Novell' is this one:
Novell 130328 Novell Client 2 SP3 (IR1) (All Languages) (See Notes) Mar-28-2013
The iprint 5.90 patch i'm looking for fixes another security fix, CVE-2013-1091 - Security Vulnerability - Novell iPrint Client Stack Buffer Overflow Remote Code Execution Vulnerability.
So this is one of the patches i at least expect ZPM to be able to patch.....
Am i overlooking something or can someone confirm this in their setup?

Shaun,
Yeah thats definitly a sad thing.... Atleast make your own patches available to the patch management system you sell .
I noticed some client updates, but not all either. Like the last one that fixes CVE-2013-3697.
I made a feature request at lumension.com, but this should be a novell task. :/

    1) Are there any useful facilities for admins or auditors to idenitfy misisng security patches associated with oracle EBS and supporting infrastructure? I know there are websoites saying which patches are out there but I could do with some sort of "this is what you are missing" type reports.

  • How to find which server is missing a Patch

So I have a SharePoint 2010 Farm with 10 Servers.  I have been put in charge of making sure all the servers are patched and updated.  I love how SharePoint 2010 has the page:
    http://Server:880/_admin/PatchStatus.aspx.
However, looking at this page each server has about 100 patches.  Scrolling through this list is difficult to see if one of the servers is missing a patch or has patches that other servers do not.
Now researching this almost all the answers point to using SCOM.  However, I do not have access to SCOM and our company is cheap and does not want to get it.
Is there a way to export the information on the PatchStatus.aspx page in Central Admin to and excel spreadsheet?
Or does anyone see a script that can be used to find the information I need?
Thank you for any help you can give.
    [email protected]

Unfortunately I can not.  We are on a closed network for our Sharepoint servers.
But its great to hear that I can write a script to read the PatchStatus.aspx page!
Do you have any reference materials I can read to accomplish this goal.   So far I have not been able to find which commands will read the information.

I had to reinstall my software but now I am missing some applications like garage band

GarageBand, iMovie and iPhoto aren't included with OS X, so it's normal that you haven't got them after reinstalling Mac OS X.
If your iMac didn't come with DVDs, open the App Store, go to Purchases and download iPhoto, iMovie and GarageBand free of charge.
If your iMac came with DVDs or you didn't purchase the iLife apps at the Mac App Store, insert the second Mac OS X disc or Applications disc and install the iLife apps. Then, open  > Software Update, and install the most recent version.
Respecting to third-party applications, you have to reinstall them manually

Neither of the three patches without descriptions above are listed in the patchdb.zip file. As such there is no metadata available for them. I assume then that they must be listed in the requirements of one or more of the other patches.
Anyway, the reason ther is no descriptions is that they are not listed in the patchdb.zip file and as such no metadata is available to be presented.

  • Missing Baseline Patches

    Hi Guys,
We have just started testing with ZCM Patch Management and experience a problem with our Baselinepatches. We are currenly at ZCM 10.3.2. and clients are Windows XP SP3 and have the Adaptive Agent 10.3.2.41992. What is happening is that we started testing with a small Baseline of 26 Microsoft Critical patches which is applied to a testgroup. These 26 critical Microsoft patches all show as vulnerabilties for these clients.
This testgroup has about 10 clients as members. Of these 26 patches only 13 are being implemented at these clients, the other 13 patches are never installed at these clients.
We have no problems with the Patch Management Process itself. The subscription service is working fine and is scheduled daily. The Discover Applicable Updates Windows-x86-nl-XPsp3 Patch Bundle is working, Patch Managemement is running on the clients and the Clients get the Fingerprints correctly which are being presented in ZCC in the Patches Tab of the Workstation objects.
The 26 mentioned Baseline patches are:
    1. MS 940289 (Dutch) Office Compatibility Pack Service Pack 1
    2. MS 942288 Windows Installer 4.5 (All Languages)
    3. MS 953331 (Dutch) Office Compatibility Pack Service Pack 2 (Rev 2)

    25. MS11-014 Security Update for Windows XP (KB2478960)
    26. Microsoft Office Compatibility Pack Service Pack 2 (SP2)
Of these, the following 13 patches are never installed on these clients:
    12. MS10-096 Security Update for Windows XP (KB2423089)
    13. MS10-097 Security Update for Windows XP (KB2443105)

    23. MS11-012 Security Update for Windows XP (KB2479628)
    24. MS11-013 Security Update for Windows XP (KB2478971)
    25. MS11-014 Security Update for Windows XP (KB2478960)
These 13 patches remain visible in ZCC in the Patches tab of the devices with a Green color and the status "Not Patched". I also checked the status of the missing Patches locally on the clients, they are definitive not installed locally. We tried Multiple refreshes of the Adaptive Agent, used the "Recalculate Baseline" option multiple times and tried clean imaging and a clean import in the zone of these clients. Just waiting for a few days to see if the process is running later makes no difference. We also tried the "Update cache" options several times for these 13 patches in ZCC.
I noticed the following things on the clients:
    1. In the "Bundles" option of the properties of the Adaptive Agent on these clients the missing patches are not shown.
    2. I checked the c:\program files\Novell\zenworks\zpm folder on the clients and noticed that for all the 26 Patches the corressponding .PLS files are present. For the 13 Patches that are being installed i also noticed a corresponding .pls_results.txt files which has only one line: SUCCES. For the 13 missing patches no such files exists.
So we do not seem to be able to install these critical Microsoft Patches on the clients. Does anyone has any suggestions we could try?
Thanking you in advance for your suggestions,

  • Logic missing some patches

I bought and downloaded Logic Pro. Some of the patches seem to be missing something. Half the notes on the keyboard DO NOT WORK.  Its like all the elements that make up some of the patches did not complete. Of all the sounds in the app, I think I have found about 10 that have this problem. How I fix this. Thanks.

Here is an example of a file that plays 5 notes across the whole 61 note keyboard. Its looking for more files that make up the complete patch.

  • Missing microsoft patches

Looks like since may 8 microsoft patches are not showing correctly in zcc as patched or unpatched, all workstations show zeros for both counts. Other products, adobe, apple etc have released patches since may 8 and patched/unpatched stats are populating in PM. If I look in the debug.log file for a patch released on may 14 (ex KB2829361) the entry is found for MS13-046 KB2829361.pls. The servers are version 11.1a, managed devices range from 10.2.2 up to 11.1a and all have this issue with Microsoft patches. Anyone else seen this behavior ?

Yes, sometimes this happends - looks like it thinks the patch is there
but it's not. Easy workaround though...

  • Music files missing? Seems like iTunes bug...

I recently noticed that many of my music files are missing, and that the selection appears to be somewhat random. They are retained in iTunes, but have the ! next to them. So, doing the logical thing, I tried to locate them, and the files themselves are missing, but their iTunes link is preserved.
In an effort to continue to do the logical thing, I then systematically went through my CD library, re-loading all the missing material back into iTunes. This was extremely tedious, but appeared to fix most of the issues (obviously, the ones were the CD case was mysteriously empty were left unfixed). The files played fine at that time. Then I carried the computer upstairs to my home office, where I proceeded to plug it in to do a time machine backup on the newly transferred files.
Now here's where it gets really strange... The time machine backup went swimmingly without hitches, to a relatively new USB 3.0 drive. I then set about organizing the music, so that it would all be in the iTunes music folder (User(me)/Music/iTunes/iTunes Music/ directory, the one automatically made by iTunes on installation). Many of the songs linked perfectly, and I didn't have to re-link the songs to their new location, as one might expect. So, I then thought I would sit down to enjoy this new library that I had spent a day bringing up to speed and organizing again. And, low and behold, songs are missing--again. Not just the ones that I couldn't replace, but some of the newly replaced ones. For example, Track 12 of an album might be missing, but the files for Tracks 1-11 and 13+ are all present.
As other people who have experienced this problem previously have noted, there does seem to be a slight preference for songs whose artist and/or title include accented characters, although my detection ability is more limited now, as I have since lost many of these original CDs, and so the songs were not replaced within the library. But, while they account for about 5-10% of my overall library, they accounted for about 50% of the songs missing at the beginning of yesterday's overhaul.
And what makes matters really strange is that when I tried to look up the missing files--which I know myself to have imported yesterday--in the fresh time machine backup I made right after importing all that music, they are all missing.
So, it appears that iTunes is systematically deleting files at random. While I'm tempted to try to put the missing ones back on (fewer are "re-missing" than I was able to replace, so it's a little better), this doesn't exactly seem fruitful, given the fresh deletions.
The original music files were encoded a long time ago, and have been copied and re-copied (and recopied... ad infinitium). It appears that everything that I encoded on the really old system (before iTunes really became popular for this sort of thing) were preserved; however, the issue seems to temporally localize around the time I started using iTunes for most of my music encoding needs (except, of course, for the little issue about files that were imported less than 24 hours ago).
    A few other notes:
    - I did not delete these files accidentally. I'm more careful than that.
    - The files are not there (they're not just hidden--I already checked for this).
    - iTunes has retained the link to where it believes the file should be.
    - The issue appears to have originally arisen quite some time ago, as these files are systemically missing from all backups made by time machine. However, it wasn't all that long ago that I deleted my entire library and started over (about 2 years, so the files should have been natively present on 2 of my macs) by re-importing all the files in my music folder. This newly created library has since become the "master" library that is propigated to all my other computers (although I don't trust iCloud for obvious reasons, given this fiasco--Thanks, Apple...)
    - I have not elected to have iTunes manage my music folder, or automatically copy things to the iTunes music folder when importing (although this is the default destination, so they are imported there, but not duplicated there when imported from elsewhere on the hard drive).
    - I am currently running OS X 10.6.8 on an Intel Mac (yeah, yeah, I'd upgrade the OS, but software that cost more than the computer isn't 10.8--or even 10.7--compatible).
If anyone has any thoughts on how to prevent this issue in the future, I'd really appreciate it. I think the music files themselves are just... gone. But, I would like to be able to have them stick around for a bit when I get around to dedicating another day to trying to import them from their CD.
Does anyone know a piece of third party software that allows you to sync and update iDevices? Hopefully one that doesn't take over my music library and decide to delete things of its own accord?

I was lucky to be able to use a PC, that after trying numerous times actually read the external hdd, I quickly copied all files over to a backup hdd and recovered all files. After that I ended up in contact with Western Digital about the incident and they recommended to completely erase (7-pass erase) of the hdd, which ended up taking over 5 days to do. They gave me no reason as to "Why" it would have happened but if I erase and reformatted of the hdd and the problem reoccurred they recommended to get the unit replaced.
I was lucky to recover all my files.....keep trying on different computers if you can, and copy what you can get hold of. The 7-pass erase will delete pretty much every trace of information on the hdd with no chance of recovery.
So far since the incident its been running ok but I not longer trust the hdd to be stable. Not a simple nor quick process / solution I'm afraid.
    Good luck!
Once you have recovered your files (or as many as you can get hold of) and ready to erase the hdd:
(THIS WILL ERASE ALL YOUR DATA, MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A BACKUP BEFORE PROCEEDING)
Connect the drive directly to the Mac, open Disk Utility.
Select the drive and click on the "Erase" tab Select the "7-times zeros" to completely erase the drive.
Once the erase have completed format the drive to your selection.

  • Sales office data missing after patching in CRM

    Hi,
We have CRM 4.0 for internet sales.
Recently, we patched our Development and QA CRM systems from SAPKU40009 to
    SAPKU40016.
Immediately after the patching, we see that the Sales office information in the BP (Sales area- organization tab) is missing.  We have only one Sales org and Dist channel with division not active. All the sales office belong to the same sales org. Nothing has changed w.r.t org model before and after patching and all the org units are checked for determintation.
Everything was working before the patching. Just after patching, we find the sales office information blanked out in the BP and as well as the drop down list is empty.
I can see the sales office table entries for all the BPs in CRMM_BUT_SET0140. But when ichange the BP data (for some other field) and save, the table entries get deleted as i am not able to assign the sales office any more.
We have not buffered the attributes. I tried that also and ran the report HRBCI_ATTRIBUTES_BUFFER_UPDATE, but it is of no use.
    Can somebody help?
    Thanks
    Shankar

    Hi ,
    What you can do is,
Create a request for a material whose Sales Area data is missing in
CRM , and perform the request load in transaction:R3AR4.
And please check whether sales area data flows to CRM.
Put a filter in txn:R3AC1, to download single material or material
range. And before performing an initial load in txn:R3AS,please make
sure that sales area data is missing in CRM.Now, perform the initial
load in txn:R3AS.And please check whether sales area data flows to
    CRM.
Check the  filter settings in transaction R3AC1 for
object MATERIAL and please make sure that it would bring down all
the expected materials from R/3 along with the sales area data. I guess there is some
filter setting which is blocking it.
Please check the entries you have maintained in table MVKE - the entries
for the sales data maintained here must match with the ones maintained in the
    filters.
    thanks & regards,

  • PDFMaker Missing after patching 8.2.6

After I patched Acrobat 8 Standard from 8.2.5 to 8.2.6, user can not convert document to pdf format.  It had an error "PDFMaker missing...need to repair Acrobat 8"  Repair and doesn't work.  Any suggestion or fix on this?  Thank you in advance.

    Hi Devyani:
Thank you for your reply.  I checked this post (http://forums.adobe.com/thread/792314) and did some testing on user computer.  Directly using Acrobat 8 Standard to convert did not work.  Instead uses the application (Office 2010) print function to print the document into pdf format work fine; and user was satisfied with it.

  • Restored from TM; missing default apps like System Preferences, etc.

I restored from my TM last night. Unfortunately, I came back to some missing essential applications, such as System Preferences, Preview, all of my Utilities folder, Games, iCal, Photobooth, etc. I didn't realize I'd have to back up those applications when I did my first TM back up; what I had originally backed up were my essentials.
How exactly do I go about getting everything back? Thanks a bunch in advance!

Hi, and welcome to the forums.
Do you mean you excluded things from Time Machine, like your Applications folder?
How exactly do I go about getting everything back? Thanks a bunch in advance!
If so, you can get your Apple apps back by reinstalling OSX from your Snow Leopard install disc. (That won't disturb anything else.) Then download and install the 10.6.4 "combo" update. Info and download available at: http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1048 Be sure to do a +Repair Permissions+ via Disk Utility (in your Applications/Utilities folder) afterwards.
If you bought your Mac with Snow Leopard, your iLife apps will be on the disc that came with it. If not, they'll be on whatever disk came with your Mac, or, if you upgraded iLife separately, those discs.
Any missing 3rd-party apps will have to be reinstalled from the original discs or re-downloaded.
It's obviously a bit late now, but excluding things like that usually isn't a good idea. See #11 in Time Machine - Frequently Asked Questions (or use the link in *User Tips* at the top of this forum). Please reconsider any such exclusions.

  • Missing factory patches?

    Hi all,
I've had Logic installed a while now, and have assumed the plugins like the ES-1, ES-P, Sculpture etc didn't come with any factory presets, other than the EXS24, which had a few. Now apparently this is not the case, and if not, I'd love to get them! Prefer not to reinstall however. Can I just download from somewhere, or pull them off the install CDs?
Plus: any good third-party stuff around?
    Any help much appreciated.
    daniel

    Hi Daniel,
You may be reluctant to reinstall but this is definitely my preferred route. If you've failed to get the presets then there may be other things missing as well.
A reinstallation would be pretty straightforward since it shouldn't overwrite your preferences (they're only created the first time you run Logic).
Third party stuff? Huge amounts! Start here for freebies:

  • Find missing security Patches

    Hello team,
Is there anyway to find out all the security patches we are missing in our production environment.
    Thanks
    Ammu

Please refer to (Oracle E-Business Suite Releases 11i and 12 Critical Patch Update Knowledge Document (October 2013) (Doc ID 1585639.1)).
You can identify the missing patches by following the same approach for identifying them at each tier node (i.e. query AD_BUGS, use "opatch lsinventory", ..etc).
    Thanks,

If you are not getting any errors during the import process, it is pretty unlikely that the import process is at fault assuming that hasn't changed. Make sure that INDEXES=Y and CONSTRAINTS=Y are specified (which is the default).
You can use the SHOW=Y parameter to have the import utility write the DDL contained in the dump file to a text file where you can manually verify that the primary key constraints you were expecting are indeed missing.
