Missing renders after a save

I rendered a seq overnight and saw the renders done the next morning. saved the project. re-opened it minutes later and it was missing one render file. two things here. when I looked at the renders folder in the drive I rendered to, I could see all the renders that I had asked it to render overnight(well as far as I could tell) The missing render file according to FCP was on a different drive. There are three drives that are hooked up via FC channel network. The drive it said the missing render file was on was not assigned as the drive for renders of this part of the project. This was so when I looked for the renders that did exist and they were where they were supposed to be.
So the question is why did it lose the render and why did it think it was on a different drive than where it the rest of the renders were? Lastly, is there a way to connect the renders I did find to the seq even though it was missing this one render.
Now the drive it thought the render was on, was used for other renders. Also in the drive that it thought the renders were there was a render that had a similar name but was one number off in the name. ie. 7a instead of 6a which it was looking for.

(Is it just me, or is this sporadic behavior in FCP. I've not experienced it enough to be a PITA, but it has certainly occurred in the past..on several Macs/FCP versions.
I figure it just one of those things, and re-render.)
Regarding the 'other drive'...it may be possible that FCP came up showing the other drive because it was the most recent drive it had been sent to to 'reconnect' some piece of media...that's a guess, but would make sense based on behavior I've experienced.

    My current setup:
    MacBook Pro Retina 15-inch, Early 2013
    2.8 GHz Intel Core i7
    Memory: 16gb 1600MHz DDR3
    Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M 1024MB
    Operation System: OS X 10.8.5
    I am running a 27inch thunderbolt cinema monitor and a 40 inch LED TV client monitor.
    Following a recent NVIDIA Cuda update, I open a project in PR or AE to find a dialog box that reads:
    Missing Renderer
    "This project was last used with Mercury Playback Engine GPU Acceleration(CUDA), which is either not available or not certified on this system. Mercury Playback Engine GPU Acceleration(Open CL) will be used."
    I click "OK" and go into PR or AE. Doesn't matter what project I go into, when I start working and there are several dosen clips in a timeline pulling form the source footage on a thunderbolt drive, the scrubing with extremely sluggish to the point where my workflow speed overwhelms the system and another dialog box pops up to say:
    "Premiere had experieced a serious error and is forced to close....."
    Serious error indeed!!!
    Never had this issue prior to the CUDA update.
    Spent 2 hours in the apple store erasing the CUDA update and installing the previous one......to no avail.
    Wiped the commputer completely and reinstalled everything on it(Creative Cloud, REDCine X, Red Giant Looks, etc).....also to no avail.

    Ideally yes, internal drives would be awesome to have, but without the MacPro out yet, this is the next best option.
    This doens't solve my issue tho......why have I been able to work seemlessly with throughout the Creative Cloud with Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop, as well as run REDCine X and Red Giant Looks prior to the update. After the update, something is amiss.
    Now there is a Missing Renderer dialog box as I open Premiere. Something has to have affected PR.

    I have just updated premier with Adobe Application Manager today, checked 'updates' afterwards and confirmed all is up to date.
    But now when I run the app I get a message entitled 'Missing Renderer' and it says the last time the project was open mercury was available that the mercury system is not available now and software only will be used- or words to that effect
    It always was available. I re-checked the supported cards text file and my card is there. Geforce GTX 260
    In about box, my version is 6.0.3 (001 MC264587)
    I am on windows 8 ultimate

    Working now. It appears that after the upgrade, the entire Adobe directory on drive C became read only. I reset this and all works fine again

  • Missing Renderer - GPU Acceleration Disabled

    Hi.
    I've been having a problem with premiere lately. When I create new project, the render settings are set for CUDA GPU acceleration. I have no issues while editing the project or when rendering preview files. However, once I save the project, quit premiere, and then later re-open the project, I am presented with the dialog "Missing Renderer" - "This project was last used with Mercury Playback Engine GPU Acceleration, CUDA, which is either not available, or not certified on this system. Mercury Playback Engine Software Only will be used."
    After this message, my timeline opens completely unrendered. I've attempted to change the project setting and reselect GPU Acceleration as the renderer, but the dropdown box is disabled in the project settings menu.
    Can anyone help me with this issue?
    Computer Specs:
    Intel Core i7-3537U
    8GB RAM
    NVIDIA GeForce 710M with 1GB Dedicated RAM

    Do you have dual graphics adapters?
    Go to the Windows Control Panel and select Hardware and Sound and then select Device Manager... In Device manager you click the + sign to the left of Display Adapters... and see if 2 are listed

  • Rendering doesn't save

    I upgraded to PE 9.0 (with updates) after a very frustrating experience with PE 8.0. Was looking forward to having so many problems fixed. PE 9.0 just presents a host of new problems! I am having 2 issues right now:
    1) I followed Steve Grisetti's advice to render and save often. However, my rendering does not save. When I re-open the project, everything needs to be rendered again. It is a lot to go through everytime the project is open. I am also interested in knowing how I can make sure that my capture frame rate is the same as PE 9.0 so I won't have a red line above every clip that I place on the timeline (no transitions added at that point).
    2) My project has given me this error message the last 5 times I have opened it (as per advice in one forum, I restart computer after every error message):
    [..\..\Src\RenderFrameRequest.cpp-310]
    I ran my Norton virus scan, Malware Bytes program and defragged the hard drive.
    My system is a Dell XPS 630, Intel Core 2 Quad CPU Q660 @ 2.40 Ghz with 3.25 GB RAM. Running XP Pro SP3, 32 bit, 2x 1 TB SATA II, RAID 1. Video card is NVidia GeForce 9800, RealTek audio driver.
    any suggestions?

    Unfortunately, this inability to save rendered video is a bug that's been in Premiere Elements since version 8.
    Hopefully it will be fixed in the next generation of the program. But, meantime, I encourage you to contact Adobe and make them aware of this problem. The more of us a who complain about it, the more Adobe will realize how serious it is.

  • Missing renderer error in Premiere CS6 plus three more errors

    I just tried to open a saved project and now get a Missing renderer error in Premiere CS6;
    "This project was last used with Mercury Playback Engine GPU Acceleration (CUDA), which is not available on this system. Mercury Playback Engine Software Only will be used"
    I then click OK and get a new errror:
    The preset used by one or more sequneces in this project requires third party components that could not be located. These sequences will be modified to use a custom sequence setting instead ...."
    I then click OK and get the error:
    "Adobe Preniere Pro CS6 has stopped working"
    This is the same computer thta created the project and nothing physical has cahnged. I reboot try to create a new project and get the error:
    "Sorry a serious error has occurred that requires Adobe Premier Pro to shut down. We will attempt to save your current project"
    I cant do anything with premiere CS6 at all.
    HELP!

    The first two can be solved pretty easy, but won't help much in light of the third.  We need to solve that one first.  Once you get PP to open and remain open with a new project and new sequence, then we can fix the first two.  So...

  • Adobe Lightroom 3 not updating thumbnails after Photoshop Save

    Anyone know why Lightroom 3 will not update my thumbnails after I save changes in Photoshop CS5?
    I tried to do a "save" (in lightroom) to update the metadata of the file, and the changes still never occurred.
    I know that the changes held though because when I RE-open the file in photoshop the changes are there..
    And once again, I save through photoshop, and it does not render the changes in Lightroom.

    seriously, I move through 20-30 images per day in post-production. I shoot around 6-800 in the studio. I rely on flags to get me through the photos quickly (hence why it exists)
    You're telling me that I have to save each of these files first before opening - um, didn't have to do this in Lightroom 2.
    Is Adobe EVER going to put out an update on this? 
    Beta exists for a reason - so that bugs like this don't appear once the disks hit the sales floor. How could they have missed that??
    Anyway - this isn't really helpful to me.  The save are slow too.

    Basically i use guides a lot when creating or editing PDFs, however when i am done editing and i save my work and close it. The next time i open up the pdf to edit, my initial guides when i created the Pdf is missing. This is really annoying. does anyone know how to fix this problem?

  • "Missing Renderer" spreading like the Flu.

    Hi there-
    Seen a few posts about this on here, but all are PC based and I'm not confident the resolutions are applicable.
    Here is what is happening:
    We've got 4 edit bays. Identical MacPro 12 core towers. All with the Nvidia/PNY Quadro 4000 for Mac GFX card. In the past month, 3 out of 4 inexplicably have lost the ability to use the Mercury Playback GPU. We've had to go straight software at this point.
    We've gotten the 'missing renderer' error and nothing we attempt seems to fix it. Even a complete wipe of an edit system, reinstall of OS, drivers and Adobe suite won't fix it. Once it's gone, it's gone.
    We've not been able to establish any pattern to this either....the error has popped up on two computers about two weeks ago with no rhyme or reason. It popped up on a third yesterday immediately after we installed Avid Media Composer.
    All of these computers are running the most current Nvidia Drivers, Cuda driver, Premier 6.03 and Mountain Lion. They've worked for a month or so, but in the past 2 weeks, they've all started falling and are unable to recognize the Nvidia card as the renderer.
    Can anyone help? This is really frustrating!

  • Missing Renderer

    I am receiving an odd message that has only recently started popping up upon launching projects.  After clicking Open, and before the project loads, I get a dialog box which is headed:
    'Missing Renderer'.  It is then followed by the message:  'This project was last used with Mercury Playback Engine GPU Aceleration, which is not available on this system.  Mercury Playback Engine Software Only will be used'.
    I have the Nvida GTX-470 GPU card installed and the message has only started to pop up of late.  I've made no changes that I am aware of.  I can tell by watching playback that the message is correct and the card is not being used. Oddly, some projects don't give that message while others do.
    What would cause CS5 to suddenly quit accessing the card?  Could it somehow be offline?  And if so, how would I confirm that?  And finally, I noticed in the list of CS5 5.0.2 some fixes for Nvidia cards.  Is this a possibility?

  • Photoshop cs4 color changes after I save it from psd to jpg

    I have used  cs2 for years and just got cs4 and I always work on my pictures in raw then save them as psd then open them in photoshop and work on them and save as jpg for printing.
    I can't seem to be able to do how I used to.
    I open the picturte in raw and fix the color until it looks good, then open it in photoshop and it still looks good and I save it as jpg then the whole thing goes down hill here I view it in Windows live gallery and the color is all off, its way over concentrated and looks red and jsut way different then it did in photoshop and thats how it prints too.
    Any idea what it can be?
    Why soon as I save it as jpg the image looks so different.
    Please help, I'm working on clients pictures and don't seem to be able to save them so they are right.

    okay I see that this is getting little more complicated.
    So now I see it isn't anything with windows.
    I do edit the picture in raw and it looks good and save it as psd then when I open it in photoshop it looks right and if I select view-proof colors then it comes out with that crazy color as it will look after I save it.
    So going from raw where i edit it looks good then after I save it even if I save it there as jpg and open on photoshop it alway changes when it is checked on proof color.
    Is anyone on here that know whay this is happening? how do I make the pictures stay the same after I edit them in raw?

  • How to remove connect and workbook link after pressing Save as,Print,Export

    I have to remove the connect link and workbook link which appear AFTER pressing Save as,Printable Page,Export in a discoverer viewer report. I had already removed the link in the report itself with changing the uix files, but after pushing the link for export, save as or print the link Connect and Workbook still appear.
    I know that I have to change something in UIX Files, but which one and what I have to change...? Have anyone an idea? Thanx for fast reply, it´s a urgent problem.

    If the tone really is a single (or at least narrow band) frequency like the picture shows, I'd try the Notch Filter on the Audition/Effects/Filter and EQ menu.  It might take some playing around to get the exact frequency and tweak the amount of cut you apply vs. the effect it will have on surrounding frequencies--but if you can get the right balance, you can then easily apply this to the whole of every file.
    Sorry, can't help on the Premiere Pro question since I only use Audition.

    I use this cmd to import

    Then I get this error for all the triggers

    Failing sql is:

  • Bookmarks disappear after file save in Acrobat Pro 9

    I recently bought Acrobat Pro 9 and have run into a problem with creating, editing and saving bookmarks. (I use InDesign CS2 to create most of my PDFs.) 
    On only one occasion could I create bookmarks in a normal manner, i.e., selecting pages to bookmark, creating a bookmark using the keyboard <Command B> and entering text into its label. I got through the entire list of bookmarks and saved the file.
    When I reopened it, all but one had disappeared. This has happened most of the time.
    But there is an additional wrinkle. Except for that one “normal” occasion, what usually happens is that whenever I create a bookmark (by whichever method), my ability to enter text into the label is so short that the only way I can accomplish it is to prepare a list of label contents in a word processor and copy/paste each line into each created bookmark. And I do have to be quick about it. Acrobat will keep generating functional bookmarks as you go along, but when they're all “Untitled” and you can't get get in there to do any real edits, there isn't any point to having bookmarks. (I'm a fast typist.) Invoking TouchUp Text at first gave me a small reprieve, but since then it hasn't helped at all.
    When I save the document and close it, on reopening I find again that all the bookmarks have disappeared. Conclusion: they didn't really get saved in the first place.
    Previously I used Acrobat 5.

    I see that this is a very old thread. I'm using Acrobat Pro 9.3.2 on OS 10.6.6 and seeing something similar. No real solution, but I thought I'd add a data point and my workaround.
    It seems as though SOME, but not ALL, of my bookmarks are "taking." Right now, whenever I add a bookmark AFTER what's probably the first bookmark created in the document, it MIGHT stick around after a save. When I add a bookmark BEFORE that bookmark (as in "it's positioned higher on the list in the sidebar"), it doesn't save. I ended up moving the "good" bookmark to the front of the list, and then adding additional bookmarks after it. These all stuck around after a save.
    Because of bugs like this, I'm using Preview in every case possible. Acrobat does more, but it sucks at the basics things you'd expect to work flawlessly. Oh well!
