Missing ring tone:

My 3GS has started to not ring when a new call arrives.  I'm missing calls because they are silent.
Tried adjusting via Settings..no sound
Tried to clear all memory by pressing on/off switch and home key for 10 secs...no sounds
Tried to use ring tome setting to test ring tones and the tome sounds so hardware is OK
Whats can I do to get my ring tone back.
Al

We also seem to be missing some details . . .
Can you elaborate a bit more so we can better answer your (missing) question?

  • Iphone backup due to missing ring tones

Hi, I am missing my personal  ring tones on my iphone. But I only have one backup in itunes. Is it possible to restore a previous backup with time machine? Or any other idea? Many thanks, Helmut

The RMAN Crosscheck command only validates that what RMAN thinks is backed up really is.
The Change archivelog all validate is what you need to run when you delete archivelogs before they have been backed up by RMAN.
If you have to restore a backup that was made before you deleted the archive logs, you will not be able to perform a full recovery.
You may want to consider running just archivelog backups more often and have RMAN delete them after they have been successfully backed up. In Oracle9i Release 2, there is an option to delete the archive logs after they have been backed up X number of times in case you want the logs duplex archivelog backups.

  • N97 v2.0 Gallery problems and missing ringing tone...

    Hi!
I had removed all of my photos an mp3 files from my phone before I updated it to v20.
    Now I'm facing two problems:
    1st:
It still shows me lots of photos in the gallery (which have been deleted from memory), unfortunately, I can't delete them there. And i can't force the gallery to refresh those items. How do I get them out of there? It's freaking me out to have more than 100 items in the gallery, which aren't there any more.
     2nd:
I separated my contacts into four different groups. I'd like everyone of them to have a ringing tone of their own. So I copied four mp3 files to the internal mass memory. Unfortunately, two of the files appear only in the music player (which can play them without problems), but I can't choose them, when I'm in the contact group settings. Any ideas?

I updated to Firmware V2.0. It all seemed to go well and the N97 seemed to be fine afterwards (all the applications worked, etc.) It wasn't until I made a call that I realised there was a problem. I could no longer make or receive calls! If I dialled any number (from Contacts or using the Dialler) the phone said 'Not Allowed.' I tried reloading the firmware but it didn't cure the problem. Texting worked fine. I tried Restoring Factory Settings, a Soft Reset and then a Hard Reset but on all attempts the phone said 'End All Active Calls and Connections First.'
Same problem as you I think. Here's how I solved the problem:
Hard Reset *#7370# (it didn't work straight away as each time I tried I got the message 'End All active calls and Connections First'. This can be cured by removing all widgets from the Home Screen.
Having completed a Hard Reset I checked the firmware version on my phone *#0000# and found V2.0 was still installed.
I then restored my data to the phone from my Backup using Ovi Suite. Unfortunately this left me back at square one - unable to make or receive calls! The trick is not to restore everything.
Repeat the steps above until restoring from Backup. Check all items except 'device settings and applications' and carry out restore.
I did that and my phone is working perfectly. I have had to manually re-install my applications but everything is working fine.
Give it a try. Good luck!

  • HT203167 How do you get back missing ring tones? I paid for and downloaded Dr Who ring tones and now they are gone?

    Please help!
I have purchased a Dr Who ring tone and a message tone, it had been working for about 4 months but now it's just gone?

They will only be where you put them.
Did you fail to backup your purchases?

I think you have to re select them in in iTunes.

It doesn't matter what it is in your backup that's causing the problem because you can not selectively restore things from your backup. It's all or nothing.
Set you phone up as a new device and start over.

  • Missing purchased ring tones, after upgrade

Any advice on how to reinstate purchased ring tones on my Iphone 3gs?   The purchases show in Itunes but, if I tick the ring tones sync box, there is a dialogue box warning that all music etc on the Iphone will be lost.  I don't want to do that!
Historically, ring tones purchased on the PC have never transposed to the phone and I have directly downloaded ring tones via the Iphone.
    Thanks

Thanks, Ann154 and SuzyQ, for your contributions.
    Hello ralphluben,
I’m glad to hear you upgraded to one of our fabulous Smartphones.  As SuzyQ mentioned, ringtones that were previously purchased will not automatically transfer over when you upgrade your device.  However, these ringtones are available for repurchase through My Media Retrieval if you login to My Verizon. Have a wonderful night!

  • Previously purchased ring tones missing on iPhone 6?

I've tried to locate solutions to this via Apple Support communities & Google search, but can't seem to find a solution to this problem:
I previously purchased & had several ring tones on my iPhone 4S, & these did not appear on my iPhone after transferring all data/files from the 4S. These ring tones appear in my iTunes account, but even after "copying" these files onto my iPhone 6 (within iTunes), the ring tones still don't appear on the iPhone 6.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks,
    L. Bonnet

I should mention that the tones are actually loaded on my phone.... they are both surrounded by thick lines. I can select them but they will not work when I get a text.

  • After phone upgrade-purchased ring tones are missing

  • Speaker system for 5300 to improve ring tone volum...

The ring tone volume for my Nokia 5300 is preset and cannot be changed (and made more loud/soft). It's fairly quiet overall. I checked with Nokia directly & confirmed that I cannot adjust it. As a result, if my phone is set down in the house, I cannot hear it ring, as it is too quiet.
Are there any speakers (system) I can plug my phone into so when it rings, it will broadcast through the speakers so I can hear it more easily when set down in the house?

I don't know the exact menu of your phone, but if you work through Settings>Call>Call divert it lets you input the number of seconds before each divert. Bear in mind that this will work only if your operator supports it. Operators get more revenue opportunities if you miss calls.

  • How come my ring tones are not available to download off of iTunes Match to my iPhone 5?

Any help I can get would be appreciated. I am running an older verion of iTunes on my iMac G5 which will not allow me to plug in my new or old phone running iOS6. I can do everything wirelessly (updates,etc..) which is great but access to non itunes music is nonexistent. iTunes match is some comfort but still alot of music missing, which i guess I can live with until spring when i can upgrade my Mac but I would really like to get my ringtones onto both devices and kind of figured they should be available via the Cloud at least.

iTunes Match is focused on music, you will need a different method to access the original ring tones.
