MIssing Thumbnails after running an action or batch??

After using an action or using a batch such as converting and saving tif files to jpg files or jpg for web I end up with about 25% with no thumbnail or 20%-80% of the thumbnail grayed out. If I drag the file to another folder and then back the thumbnail is fine but it is kind of a pain to do this on a big batch.
Any ideas?
I am on a MAC pro with 7GB RAM. VErsion Leopard VErsion 10.5.7

Did you sort this out? I have exactly the same problem with PSE6 which I didn't have with PSE4. I've also changed my Mac to a MacBook Pro with 4GB ram running 10.5.8.
As you say, after making any change to a photo the thumbnail is partly incomplete (ie grey) but can be recovered by dragging the jpg into a different folder and dragging back.

Missing partitions after running Recovery from previous System Image Backup in Windows 8.1

After running Recovery from a recent Sytem Image Backup the LRS_ESP partition is now missing and the Used space on the PBR_DRV partition is reported as 95.20MB while it previously reported 9.52GB in use. The WINRE_DRV, SYSTEM_DRV, Windows8_OS and D:LENOVO partions appear to be OK.
I ran the Recover after replacing the original 500GB HDD with a 1TB. Any details/links/recommendations on recreating/correcting the LRS_ESP and PBR_DRV partitions? Thanks!

Missing icons after running Adobe Manager

After running Adobe Manager, the icons pinnned to the task bar for Mozilla Firefox and SAS JMP were lost. They no longer appear in the programs list either. How do I get them back? I am running Windows 7.

Have you tried locating the applications on your hard drive and then repinning them to your Taskbar?

Missing thumbnails after dragging a project into another folder?

Why would cause whole bunch of photos in an album to not show up in browser/viewer after dragging and dropping from one folder into another?
If I click on the root folder where the project is located, all the photos show up again on the browser/viewer. But when I click on the specific album within the folder, they disappear again.
The only way I can find to get Aperture to display the photos in the album is to close the app and relaunch it, which is extremely annoying when I just want to move a couple of albums around.

Looks like this is the closest to the trouble I am having. I am having the same issues. just downloaded the trial version and imported all my iphoto library but all my video files are missing those thumbnail in the browser format... well actually regardless how I view the file, thumbnails are missing for all the videos. To me, it doesn't do anything even if I restart the app...

Organizer 10 missing thumbnails after upgrade

After upgrading from Elements 7 to 10, I'm missing 1400 thumbnails in Organizer 10 that are still present in Organizer 7. Is there some way to find the missing images and get them viewable in Organizer 10? Thank you.

Well, I figured how to fix the problem manually, fairly quickly. Clicked on Display, then folder location. In the My Pictures section, it was was easy to identify the 20-30 folders (out of about 100) whose images had not been imported into organizer. Right clicked each one, one at a a time, and clicked to import images. Voila. Took about 10 minutes, and all the images are now in Organizer 10. Thanks for the ideas to help me.

Missing thumbnails after adjustments

After I make an adjustment to an image, the notation on the image thumbnail shows that a new imgage has been created, but I cannot display the new image or its thumbnail, unless I quit Aperture and restart the application. Then the new thumbnail appears. I have the preference set to creat a new image when an adjustment is made.
When adding a keyword using the keyword control, the thumbnail disappears altogether. When I quit Aperture and restart the application the thumbnail reappears.
This is a new problem for me that did not occur in previous versions.
Any advice would be appreciated,

After upgrading to Aperture v3.3.1 I no longer have the adjustment problem. The new adjusted thumbnail is displayed correctly.
The keyword issue still persists. It also happens when keywords are dragged from the keyword list itself.

How to prevent PS from skipping steps in action sequence after encountering an error while batching

Would really appreciate help. I've spent several days working on this.
What I am trying to do is a long story, but the latest problem I've encountered is that when batch running an action sequence, and when PS encounters an error in a step in that sequence (e.g. a layer X is not available), it does not process the subsequent steps in that sequence.
My action sequence involves auto aligning layers from 2 image files, one a PNG file and another a JPG file.
I am batch running the action sequence on a folder of image files. The PNG and JPG files are arranged like this:

2.jpg
2-2.png
Some steps in the action sequence apply to the first image file, by virtue of the fact that the default layer in a jpg file is named "background", while some steps in the action sequence apply to the second image file by virtue of the fact that the default layer in a png file is named "layer 0".
When I run the action sequence manually, I will just click "continue" when an error message pops up, and PS will continue processing the subsequent steps in the action sequence. i.e. the sequence works exactly as I need it to.
But when I run the action sequence through the Automate> Batch command, with the setting "Errors: log errors to file", I find that PS ignores the subsequent steps in the action sequence if an error message is encountered on a step, and moves on to the next image.

Is there a way to get around this? I am not proficient in scripting, hence I am here seeking the expertise of this community.

Use sc command to put Windows Module Installer to disabled in your script after Enabling Hyper-v Role. When the system completely restarts, change it to Manual or Automatic.
Note: I have not tested it, it is just my thought, if it does not work or something unexpected happens, it means your issue cannot be fixed this way.

How to collapse action steps after running..?

As mentioned in the subject line, does anyone know a way of collapsing the (sometimes many) steps that open up underneath an action after it is run? It becomes quite laborious to scroll down and down...and down...longer and longer, to find the action I want after a few of them have been run. I am aware I can click the small arrow next to the action to close it but is there a way of including that step in the actual action or automating it somehow?

Firstly...thankyou for your continued interest/suggestion/assistance; it is much appreciated.
I am working as a portrait retoucher for a high volume studio where speed is of the essence. The action basically, flattens the image, creates a copy/duplicates layer, selects dodge tool, selects a custom brush for dodging...then there is a stop inserted so that I can paint/dodge the eyes to brighten them. Then when I click play and the action resumes it creates a layer mask, selects the brush tool and selects a custom brush for masking out areas of the previously dodged layer. - Hope all of that makes a little sense.
That isn't the first time scripting has been suggested but to be honest I don't know anything about that - is it worth investing some time to explore that avenue?
If I switch to button mode, will the action still pause for the stop or will it just run from start to finish? I have used configurator to create a custom toolbar that has buttons to run the above mentioned action (and a few others) but when I run it from here (configurator) the action does not pause or recognise the stop; it just runs the action from start to finish - wish there was a way to fix that too!
Not sure if a workaround or solution even exists for these issues but I thankyou again for your time regardless.

How do I do Photoshop batch (running an action) from Lightroom?

Images going up on the website get watermarked. The watermark is 3D, diagonal watermark that run across the entire image and is composed of the image content so it's just slightly visible and doesn't interfere with viewing. It gets implemented via a Photoshop action.
In Bridge, this is trivial. Just select the images, and tell Photoshop to batch process them, running the action that does the watermarking.
How do I do this in Lightroom?

I followed the above instructions and found a slightly better way.
When I made my action, I made sure to OPEN a file PS has never open before, then I ran whatever action is within my action, then I SAVED the file (which brings up the save settings dialogue), and you choose whatever settings you want and save. Then you create the droplet per the instructions above. The difference is if you use save as for your PS action, it will save another copy of the file and you will have to import the files into LR again, and you would have two set of files (one set from the original LR export, one set from the save as command from the PS action). If you just use save, it will save directly over the files LR exported, which presumable is already in your LR catelog and you wouldn't have to micro your files as much.
However, make sure you only run this over new exported files as this is destructive and saves over the exported files. Also, when you're creating your PS action with the save command, you will save over that file as well, so make sure you have another copy of that file.

Missing Preview, Quicktime, & more after running Cache Cleaning Software

I have what is probably a pretty ignorant question, but I do need help.
I purchased a third party app bundle including a cache cleaner. After running it once, I no longer have quicktime, preview, calandar, and a few other apps that came with my iMac. I did a restore from a previous backup, but I still do not have the apps. I could not find downloads since they are basic apps that came with the computer, and I have very little time to research unfortunately.
My question: Is there anything I can do to fix my iMac without taking it into an Apple store?

The only thing you can do to recover your OS X apps is to reinstall OS X. To do it,y ou have to use OS X Recovery > http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4718
Hold Command and R keys while your computer is starting to start in OS X Recovery, choose the option to reinstall OS X and follow the steps. After installing Mountain Lion again, you will recover the lost apps and you won't lose any data.
You shouldn't use cleaning apps because they aren't needed and because they could delete OS X files, as in this case. OS X knows how to take care of itself, so you don't need any third-party application

Create PDF and run action does not actually run the action after producing the pdf from word

When I select "Create PDF and Run Action" in word it does not actually run the action in Acrobat it just sets the tool, why?

Impdp triggers always give error ORA-04071:missing BEFORE, AFTER or INSTEAD

I am using 11g impdp to create a test system.
I use this cmd to import
impdp 'SYS/xxxxx@PWRFUN AS SYSDBA' dumpfile=PWRPROD.DMP logfile=PWRFUNimportPROD.log SCHEMAS=pwrplant TABLE_EXISTS_ACTION=REPLACE
Then I get this error for all the triggers
ORA-39083: Object type TRIGGER failed to create with error:
ORA-04071: missing BEFORE, AFTER or INSTEAD OF keyword
Failing sql is:

Illustrator CS6 Running an Action on Multiple files in a folder

I'm having trouble getting this to work and was hoping someone could shed some light for me.
I created a action in Illustrator CS6 (on a PC) which opens PNG files, scales them onto a 8.5 x 11 page, saves them as a PDF into a output folder on my desktop and then closes the page. The action works great and does exactly what I had hoped for.
Here is my issue:
I now have a need to do this on multiple files at the same time. Using the Illustrator Help menu, I found out about Batch processing. The tutorial says that a batch can be run on a single file or on a folder of files. Bingo! That's what I want. Problem is, I can't get it to work.
After setting up the batch with the following settings: (note: I didn't use a destination folder because I have the action saving the pdf into an output folder on the desktop).
According to the help page, it said to use Override Action "Open" commands which Opens the files from the specified folder and ignores any Open commands recorded as part of the original action. I thought this is what I needed to open all the files in the folder, because when recording my action, I had to use the open command to open a png file. It wouldn't just let me choose a folder. If I don't have the open command in the action, nothing happens.
My main issue is getting multiple files from within my input folder to open when running the action. The only file that opens is the file that I recorded while creating the action. If I remove that file from the folder, nothing happens at all.

I need to create a Action in Illustrator CS6 where i have to open set of files from the desired folder and convert the files to eps format. but i need to save as CS5 version instead of CS6.
I tried creating the Action it works perfectly except the CS6 to CS5 conversion.
Is there any way to achive converting to CS5 in Action?

Missing Thumbnail Fix, at least for me

I had an extremely frustrating issue with missing thumbnails (dotted blank boxes) with iPhoto 6 that migrated to iPhoto 8 with no relief. I tried all the thumbnail and library rebuilding, and permission repair issues to no avail.
In my case, the original images were fine - if I double clicked on an image, it would open fine in iPhoto - right-clicking to reveal the original in the Finder worked fine too. But for about 100 photos, no thumbnails.
I finally discovered that if I edited the image in some minor way, the thumbnail would rebuild. The easiest was to rotate the image (selecting multiple worked as well), and then undoing the rotation. I don't know what caused the issue to begin with, but this action fixed the issue in a way the built-in rebuilding option could not do.

TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've written an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. Run import data in batch file

DOes anyone know how to run sqlplus and import command in a .bat file?
I am trying to import about 10 database dump files into a database, what I want to do is to run sql statement to create tablespace/user in a .bat file first and then run import command to import the database dump files.
I wrote the following scripts in batch file:
sqlplus sm03/sm03@smdb1 @c:\table.sql
where table.sql contain the sql to creat tablespace and user. THis part work fine when I tested it.
But I don't know how to get back to commandline and continue to run the import command after sqlplus command finish. I hope just one click the bat file and it will run sqlplus command and import comand as well

I know export/import have to be run from command line, what I am trying to do is run a batch file containing something like this:
sqlplus sm03/sm03@smdb1 @c:\table.sql
Import xxx/xxx@database name ......
table.sql contain the sql to creat tablespace and user
What I want or hope, if possible i am not sure, is that when I click this batch file, it will run the first line(sqlplus), and then after that, contiune to run the second line(import)
The problem is after running the first line (sqlplus), it stil in sqlplus prompt. In order to run the second line(import), the script has to be exit sqlplus and back to command line. I try to add a $ after first line, it can get back to the command line, such as c:\>, but it won't execute the import command automatically unless I type the import command manually
I am not sure if i miss something in batch file or it just can not do like that
