How to collapse action steps after running..?

As mentioned in the subject line, does anyone know a way of collapsing the (sometimes many) steps that open up underneath an action after it is run? It becomes quite laborious to scroll down and down...and down...longer and longer, to find the action I want after a few of them have been run. I am aware I can click the small arrow next to the action to close it but is there a way of including that step in the actual action or automating it somehow?

Firstly...thankyou for your continued interest/suggestion/assistance; it is much appreciated.
I am working as a portrait retoucher for a high volume studio where speed is of the essence. The action basically, flattens the image, creates a copy/duplicates layer, selects dodge tool, selects a custom brush for dodging...then there is a stop inserted so that I can paint/dodge the eyes to brighten them. Then when I click play and the action resumes it creates a layer mask, selects the brush tool and selects a custom brush for masking out areas of the previously dodged layer. - Hope all of that makes a little sense.
That isn't the first time scripting has been suggested but to be honest I don't know anything about that - is it worth investing some time to explore that avenue?
If I switch to button mode, will the action still pause for the stop or will it just run from start to finish? I have used configurator to create a custom toolbar that has buttons to run the above mentioned action (and a few others) but when I run it from here (configurator) the action does not pause or recognise the stop; it just runs the action from start to finish - wish there was a way to fix that too!
Not sure if a workaround or solution even exists for these issues but I thankyou again for your time regardless.

mapLocalization is a jsf fragment that contains a dvt:map. mapLocalization has to call ExecuteWithParams

view of a ADF data control, and this view gets a bind variable that is this map zoom for to return a code of
geografic unit that refers to this map zoom.
mapLocalization gets this map zoom by javascript function that called by left click in the dvt:map.
But after that click in the dvt:map, I don't know continue the task flow explained above because dvt:map don't have the "action"
atribute.

1) What steps did you follow to create your access control lists?
2) You say you have Access Rights for controls in your project. Could you please clarify what controls you're talking about, and how the access rights were applied to each control?
3) What will you be connecting the access rights to at the output? Will they be used as an input for another function, or are you going to wire them up to another VI?
Once I have a better understanding of how your application is set up and what you're trying to accomplish I can do more research into resolving your issue.

How can I free RAM after running labview vi

I am trying to acquire 7 channels of data for 60 secs at 44100 Hz using a PCI-6259 card and LabVIEW. I am using the DAQmx Read polymorphic vi to acquire the data and the 'Write to Spreadsheet File' VI to write it. When I run the program for the first time, it will acquire and write the data, however when I try to run the program again it says the memory is full when it tries to write the data. I can close the program and reopen it and it will acquire and write the first time I run the program again, but it will not write the data the second time I try to run it. I have 3GB of RAM on a Windows XP system. The data is being acquired as a 2D DBL array and is creating an array that is 2646000x7. Can someone explain how I might clear the memory without having to exit and reopen the program? I would also like to increase my sampling frequency to get better resolution.

How to change action message after submit

Please advise.
I'm new to APEX and Oracle for that matter. I've got a form that is being displayed with no data after pressing a <CREATE> button from interactive report(Page 1).
I fill in the data and when I press <Save Changes> button from Page 2, internally the data is processed on insert and a trigger assigns a new Serial Number. When the screen branches back to same page, all data keyed goes away and is ready for my next add. However, what I would like is to be able to show the new serial number in the action message which defaults to "Action Processed". I'd like to be able to post the serial number followed by "added successfully".
The item on the screen is P2_SERIALNUMBER and the database column is SERIALNUMBER. The serial number is created by a trigger, therefore the P2_SERIALNUMBER is just a disabled text fiield saving state.
in the submit process, I tried setting an alert script where the current default message("Action processed") is, referencing the P2_SERIALNUMBER item but I don't think the new serial number generated from the trigger is populating the item.

Apparently, did not work. I have a dozen or so fields for update on this page(2). There is an autonumber PK called PROBLEMID(hidden on form as item P2_PROBLEMID). The field I want displayed in the action message is P2_SERIALNUMBER. I tried returning the value to a secondary key on the ARP screen and tried using the message you gave me, but upon pressing <Submit Changes> button it just echoed back the message you gave me literally with no data substitution for the argument &P2_SERIALNUMBER. I also tried an alert statement in the message field using <script>alert(html_getElement('P2_SERIALNUMBER').value + " added successfully")</script>. What I got back after pressing the <Submit Changes> button is an alert message that said "false added successfully". So I don't know if the code is wrong or that nothing is getting sent back to item P2_SERIALNUMBER(defined as text field with state) and therefore returned it "false". Any more ideas would be gladly appreciated.

I developped a sequence file with many levels of interlinked subsequences, and I want to be able to run selected subsequences/steps after the great-grandparent, the grandparent and the parent sequence.
Anyone know the best method to do this ?

Run the selected step "Grandparent 2" doesn't do what I require because this run all sequences under "Grandparent 2", while I want to run "Parent 2.2" and "Child 2.2.2" under "Grandparent 2".

Action steps that won't run correctly in PSE 7/8/9 (but did in 4 and 6)

I have a wonderful action that was written to work in PSE 3/4/6. It won't run in PSE 7/8/9. After fooling around for a while, I think I understand why. Adobe changed the way Adjustment Layers are handled. In earlier versions of Photoshop and Elements, Adjustment Layers threw up a modal dialog box. That changed so that Adjustment Layers now appear in the Palette Bin as a palette.
Here a sample of some of the action steps that won't work correctly:

In earlier versions of PS and PSE, the way these steps would work is that a new adjustment layer would be created, the dialog box giving the instruction would open, it would be dismissed by clicking "Continue," and then the "Set current adjustment layer to: Levels" would generate a model adjustment layer dialog box would open up which would let one make the adjustment.
In newer versions, since Adjustment Layers are handled in the Palette Bin, after dismissing the instructions, the action doesn't stop to allow the user to make change the sliders on the adjustment layer.
The action runs perfectly in CS4 and CS5 and throws up the levels adjustment modal box as it did in PSE 4 and PSE 6, but the action doesn't throw the modal box in PSE 7/8/9
Does anyone know of a way to alter the action steps to allow the action to stop to allow the adjustment and then to resume again?

Adding a new levels adjustment layer on top of the Midtone contrast layer
should work, just use a clipping mask to restrict the adjustments to the
areas of the levels adjustment layer below. The histogram will be different, but
actually testing the action is really the only way to know if that makes any difference.
Replacing the levels adjustment layer is another option, though it requires a few more steps.
The following assumes when the action gets to this point,
the Midtone contrast adjustment layer is the active (selected) layer.
To record this part of the action:
1. Duplicate current channel (in the channels panel. drag the Midtone contrast mask
    down to the Create new channel icon at the bottom of the channels panel)
2. Ctrl+click on the newly created channel (Midtone contrast mask copy)
    This loads the selection of that channel.
3. Drag the new channel (midtone contrast mask copy) to the trash icon at the bottom
   of the channels panel.
4. Back in the layers panel, delete the Midtone Contrast adjustment layer.
5. Go to Layer>New Adjustment Layer>Levels
    This creates a new levels adjustment layer using the selection loaded from
    the duplicated channel and opens the levels dialog.
To load the RGB (composite) as a selection, Ctrl+click on the rgb in the channels panel
and the same is true for the red, green and blue channels.
With layer masks, elements doesn't seem to want to load them as selections in actions,
so that's the reason for the action steps above.

How do I add a step to run at the beginning of an existing task sequence?

I need a way to add a step to run at the beginning of an existing task sequence like you see up above. We need to do so to all task sequences that install software in our environment. I understand PowerShell very well but, I am not sure of how I would modify
(if possible) an existing task sequence, let alone add a step to the beginning.
This is super important and would most appreciated for any help. Thanks! :)

I understand how to perform the above action. I need to have that in a PowerShell script. I need to insert a "Install Package" step at the top of all 900+ task sequences with a specific package. I am good with PowerShell, just not that good.

How to schedule batch jobs to run after another periodically?

Hi good people,
I want to schedule batch jobs to run periodically one after another.
Here is the problem:
I have scheduled JOB1 to run once a week and I scheduled JOB2 to run after that job (JOB1). The problem is that JOB2 runs only after the first time that JOB1 runs. The second time the JOB1 runs the JOB2 is not started. I presume that the reason for that is that JOB2 is tied to the job number for the JOB1, and since a new job (with the new number) is created every week, the JOB2 is only tied to the first instance of JOB1.
So does anyone have an idea how to get JOB2 to automatically run every week after JOB1? One idea is to use events, but that I'm hoping that there is a bit cleaner solution..

Try scheduling both JOB1 & JOB2 in a single job in steps.
First schedule JOB1 & then give JOB2 in steps.

By publishing this workflow, conditions and actions inside Impersonation steps will run using your credentials

In a SharePoint 2010 workflow that accesses a custom list, I am getting the following warning message before I publish the workflow to the SharePoint test server:
"By publishing this workflow, conditions, and actions inside impersonation steps will run with your credentials".
The only step in this SharePoint 2010 workflow is the impersonate step.
Thus would you tell me what I can do to have the workflow run under different credentials?

As the warning says, any actions within Impersonation step would be carried out under your credentials if you published the workflow. If you intended to just add a Step in the workflow, then use different icon that says Step (with down arrow). Impersonation
step is used to modify the permissions on the item.
Once you have this, the workflow will be executing under the credentials of whoever starts it. Hope it helps.

AIS CC: how undoing the actions of a JS run via app.doScript

I wrote a JavaScript, which I can properly run through app.doScript(UndoModes.fastEntireScript, etc.).
Now, at a given time, I would like to programmatically undo the actions of my own script.
The various resources I have got here (InDesign_ScriptingGuide_JS (CS6), InDesign_ScriptingTutorial, the ExtendScript Toolkit Object Model browser) suggest things (app.undo(), app.documents.item(0).undo(), etc.) which fail, when executed on my AIS CC.
Any idea or tip, on how to undo actions submitted via doScript on AIS CC?

you're undoing the entire script, which is probably not what you want.
Undoing everything embedded in my "main" function is really what I want to achieve.
Whether it's a bunch of complex code, or nothing at all (as in my snippet, where "main" contains only a comment line ), it's what I want.

I changed my "UndoModes.fastEntireScript" into "UndoModes.entireScript", as you suggested; with no avail so far: I still get the same "is not a function" error.
Actually, I have the feeling that I do not understand/master the InDesign DOM here, and am simply trying to make a call to a method (undo) which does not exist in this class (app) - despite the Adobe Reference Manual says it does...
It sounds an inefficient way to write a script
My script makes some changes in an InDesign document ("main" function), then exports it to PDF (out of the "main" function).
Then, the environment I work with (XMPie) will inject variable information in the InDesign document for the next recipient.
At this time, I need the document to be reset to its original design.
That's why I need to undo all the changes applied by the "main" function.

Turns out those error messages it gave me were because it didn't sync properly and create a backup. Which is why when I restored from backup it didn't reload my old info. Instead of assuring me that I would have the option to restore my info, it would have been nice had it told me that a backup hadn't been completed and that restoring my phone without it would leave me with nothing.
Tech support had me use my old SIM card to import my old contacts. This worked, but I've entered contacts since getting the new phone that aren't on my old SIM. And doing so left me with a bunch of re-organizing to do (deleting, combining, entering First and Last name fields...) it took me several hours.
I didn't get my appointments back, cause my old phone was just a phone, and that info wasn't on the old SIM, but I'm REALLY glad I got my contacts.
