Missing variables in Infoset Query.

Hi All,
0P_KEYD2 is a variable for characterstic "Posting Date" in the query which fires on ODS 0FIAR_O03.I have created an Infoset on ODS 0FIAR_O03 and 0CUST_SALES(Master Data)and created a query on this infoset. But I am unable to see variable 0P_KEYD2 for Posting Date in the Infoset Query.
(There are some other variables too which are not visible in Infoset Query, these include - custom "Z..." variables & BC variables, with SAP exit and with User entry, etc)
Could anyone suggest how to access this same variable for query on infoset as in ODS query?
I tried having an new Infoset with just the ODS 0FIAR_O03, but here again these variables are missing for this characterstic (and possibly other variables for other characterstic), while if I try to build the query on the above ODS directly I get the variables!

I'd put this query in SDN quite some time back..but didn't get any response then.
As Raymond said above, that is what I'd done in my case. The original variables are SAP exit (u can view their code in the standard SAP FM's). Here the code refers to other variables/objects with their specific tech names (or something similar..don't remember it now). In infoset, as we dont get the original tech. names of the objects in the query ...these SAP exit codes will not work for these variables.
The solution is to create your own custom variables & populate it in Customer Exit. U can get the logic from the SAP exit code...its not that difficult to understand.

Dear, it seems that you have changed the query in SQ02 and then just save it and not generated.
or may be after generation again clicked on SAVE button.
So untill unless you will not generate the query, it won't work.
Secondly, by chanegs in the query, i don't think it changes the name of the main program.

InfoSet Query - Long Description while selecting variable values

Dear Experts,
We have an InfoSet Query on different InfoObjects like 0CUSTOMER, 0CUST_COMPC etc and the common link between these InfoObjects is CUSTOMER.
We have a variable created on this CUSTOMER. The requirement is that when this query is executed, user should be able to select a value of Customer (F4 help) and at that time, he should be able to view both Key and Long Text of Customer.
We know that if we change the CUSTOMER InfoObject --> BEx Properties tab, then we can display Long Text and Key in Query Selection Screens. However we can not do that because it would affect all queries in which this InfoObject is used.
If we go to Query Design, and choose "Long Text and Key" in properties of Customer, then system displays Long Text and Key of Customer but after the report execution is done.
We want to display the Long Text of Customer to User at the time of selection and that too without making any InfoObject level change.
If it was InfoProvider, we could have done it using "Provider specific properties of Characteristic" option. But this is InfoSet and that option does not appear here.
Please suggest the solution.

Are you looking to display long text for infoobject instead of short description ?
Then go tp rsd1>infoobject>display/change-->master data/texts -->text table properties -->check long text exists.
It supports a long text field with a length of 60 characters

Custom Field in Infoset Query missing in Infoset

Hi Everyone,
I'm in a puzzle and I hope someone can help me. Basically I need to maintain an existing infoset Query - While looking through the query and it's related Infoset I noticed there is a custom field appearing in the query (SQ01) but this field is nowhere to be seen in the Infoset (SQ02) - I'm just wondering how can this be ?
The same custom field exists in another Infoset - is it therefore possible to build a query using an infoset while pulling in fields from another ?
I would appreciate any thoughts on this matter as I'm in a very confused way over this.

Hi Damien Kesle ,
There are ways by which you can create fields ( they are called Local fields ) in the Query too.
Please see , whether the custom field you are asking is present in the Query.
Even then , just to confirm that your said field does not exist in the infoset, follow the steps.
Go to SQ02, put the name of your Infoset and click on tab "Description ".
Then do a Ctrl + F (Find/Search) for the field. If its not there, then you can confirm that the field comes from Query and not Infoset.
Approach for any further queries.

SAP Infoset Query Reporting Set Restriction by Org. Structure

Dear Experts,
I am giving some new users a demo on using Infoset Query on an IDES server.
I am using the user group Personnel Administration (PA) and the HRDATA infoset.
As per my understanding, I should be able to restrict the reporting set according to organizational structure as the infoset is based on logical database PNP. However I am only seeing "No. of hits" in the restrict by drop-down (as can also be seen in the screenshot).
What am I missing to be able to see the restrict by option of "Persons along organizational structure"?
All assistance in this regard is really appreciated.

Thankyou for your response.
Your solution is perfectly sound for fulfilling the purpose.
However, because I am conducting a demo, I thought a reporting set restriction on the main screen would be more appealing, than an additional selection screen.
In a demo screenshot I have seen that the restrict by option "Persons along organizational structure", is listed right under "No. of hits" like in my screen shot. Can you shed some light on that. I am attaching the demo screenshot I am talking about for reference as well

Infoset-query-selection-screen-default-values

Hi All,
I am having the requirement as I need to put default values in the selecion-screen of the report by using Infoset query. Let me know the settings required for this.
I am using SQ01, SQ02, SQ03 T.Codes.
And I need display one record only if any field contains mulitple records, for example in the HR-ABAP, field p0105-usrid contains multiple values depending on the subtype.So, I need to display USRID when URSTY = '900'. All these should display by Infoset query only.
Pls help me in this scenario , its an urgent requirement.I am very much thankful for you for reading my proble, if you will provide some sort of solution, I feel very happy.

To default the values on your selection screen, you will need to do some ABAP I guess. (if you do not want to use variant). Open up the infioset in SQ02 and then goto code option for the PNP**** field and then you can code to initialize the selection screen variables. Test with an ABAPer.
To display multiple records as multiple columns, you will have to create custom fields in infoset, and then go from there. Again see ABAPer.

Infoset Query in Datasource.

I'm using a Infoset query based on an ABAM program as a datasource. For passing parameters, form Infopack to the program I defined the parameters in the Infoset (SQ02 -> Extras -> Selections -> parameters). After doing this, when I include this Infoset in my new Datasource and save it, I'm not getting the paramter defined in the Infoset. All other fields in Infoset look fine. The parameter defined should appear in Datasource as PARAM_P_<param name>, which can be used as selection parameter in the Infopack. Can anyone tell what I'm missing out and where?

Try testing your datasouce in your source system with tcode RSA3? Can you get data back from that?
Have you defined that field as a selection field in RSO2?

Generic Extraction using Infoset Query

Hi Experts,
I am trying to create on Infoset query on the R3 side for creating one generic Extractor Joining EKKO and EKPO table.
u2022I have created the User group in SQ03.
u2022I have created the Infoset in SQ02 and selected few 5/6 fields from each EKKO and EKPO tables into the Field Groups of the Infoset.
u2022I have generated the Infoset and assigned it to the user group created on SQ03
u2022I have created a query on SQ01 using this Infoset and deselected the u201Ctextu201D fields created by default and selected the Basic list. Done everything needs to be done in there.
Now when I am going to RSO2 and created the extractor using that Infoset, I am not seeing the Function groups that I have created in the Infoset in the Extract Structure, rather its pulling all the fields that is there in the Infoset joining both tables. It should show me those 5/6 fields that is there in the field group.
I just want to see only those 5/6 fields in the extract structure of the DS.
I am not sure what is missing.
Any documentation on the same or if anyone faced similar problem, please help.

You can create the infosets in r/3 using the t code Sq01,sq03 etc.
You can create a generic extractor in r/3 using the tcode rso2 and that you can specify the infoset name.

while i am doing transport in infoset query,i select the infoset and query and next i wnt to transfort and metioned there requried names of infoset &query. i done every thing ok but in SE10 transport organizer ...displaying request is wrong missing the system name and request number..

Have you attached the objects to a transportable package?
When you created the transport request, did you make a note of the request number, did the system give any errors or messages while writing the object to the request?
If you do know the request number, goto SE10, and then press F5 and fill your request number and press enter, and then you should be able to see your request.

Mandatory selection screen:
When you display infoset go into the infoset>Goto >selections or click on the app tool bar button for selections,
it will open up a table will all the screen fields. Adjacent to these, there are 3 check boxes for Standard selection, required entry and default. Check the required entry field.
You would have to place the code in the PBO. In case of selection screens, you will have to do it in the AT SELECTION-SCREEN OUTPUT EVENT.
Doesn't really make much sense to try and do it in the PAI ( = AT SELECTION-SCREEN).
You can do it using customer exit. You have the options to verify a variable input and display a message back to the users, check the attached documents. The check can be done in the customer exit step I_STEP = 3.

Missing variable

Hi Guys,
I'm using an infoobject in both an infoset and a multiprovider. I've created a variable in one of the queries, and want to add that same variable to another query. It is however not showing this variable in the query designer! Any ideas why I cannot select this variable?
I can make a copy, but it will have a different technical name which results in the variable being shown two times in the variable selection screen.
Any help is appreciated!

If the varaible is created under a particular info object then that should Exist.
Check your other report which has that varaible and which characteristics.
Then create the report. Else create a new varaible and try to use that for both the reports and ignore the previous one.

Is it possible to create a new variable in a query based on an if statement.
eg select A, B, C from table where condition
C is the new variable and should have a value of 10 if A is > 100 and a value of one if A > 100 and B < 200 for example.

1.) BSAK + BSIK can be combined with an infoset data structure but only contain the vendor line of a document; the cost distribution lines are not in the tables.
2.) BSIS + BSAS can be combined with an infoset data structure but lack vendor data and joins (to a vendor source) are not an option with data structures. Vendor data added with an additional field is too slow to be a primary selection field.
3.) Logical data base KDF in an infoset returns only the vendor line of a document, not the cost distribution lines.
4.) Logical data base BRM in an infoset can have vendor from BSAK/BSIK attached by an additional field but performance is too slow to be useful. Joins are not an option in a logical data base infoset.
5.) Complete data is lacking when table joins between document cost distribution tables and vendor data tables are possible, (SPL actual line item table & BSIP or FMIFIIT & FMIFIHD). BSIP lacks AB documents (reversals). FM tables lack general ledger only documents.
6.) BSAK and BSIK together have complete vendor data but joins of both to a basis table do not work well. Left outer joins are too slow, inner joins won’t work since the tables have mutually exclusive data.
It would be ideal to have vendor in BKPF, like FMIFIHD has, but it isn't a field.
