You run Windows in Parallels or Fusion. Then in Windows you install the program.

You already have the software installed that you need if you have 10.8.2.
If AirPort Utility cannot find the Express, that is another matter. More software is not needed. More troublehooting is needed.
Power up the Express for a full minute
Hold in the reset button on the Express for 7-8 seconds and release
Allow a full minute for the Express to restart
Click the AirPort icon at the top of the Mac's screen
Look for a heading of New AirPort Base Station
Just below that, click on AirPort Express
    What happens?

  • IMovie plug ins not compatible with Intel Macs

I need a page turn transition for an iMovie 6 project I'm working on. I downloaded one from cfx, but apparently a lot of the plug ins are not compatible with Intel Macs. Anyone out there have any suggestions?

Any GeeThree plug-in that uses flash will no longer work, which include all the WildFX plug-ins. Apple did away with flash support in Quicktime 7.3.1 or newer! Now iMovie is basically unusable without the very cool & professional GeeThree plug-ins. If Apple keeps this up iMovie will probably go the way of the dinosaur. I've talked to Apple about this and they responded "why don't you buy Finalcut Pro". It's what Apple does best, Farm the base.....

  • The HP Deskjet 3050A All-In-One J611 series printer I just bought is not compatible with my Mac Book Pro.  What do I need to do?

I recently purchased an HP Deskjet 3050A All-In-One J611 series printer and it is not compatible with the version of the operating system on my mac book pro.  I am currently running on OS X 10.4.11 and the printer is compatible with v10.5 or higher.  What can I do to update the operating system on my Mac Book Pro?

10.5 will be harder to find & more expensive, I think I'd go for 10.6

  • My new ipod is not compatible with my Mac computer. what do I need to do ?

My Mac computer with an operating system 10.5.8 is not compatible with the new ipod nano I just purchased. What are my options?

Choose About this Mac from the Apple menu and check the processor.
If it's a PowerPC Mac, none. You may want to ask for a refund.
If it's an Intel Mac, click here, install the DVD, and run Software Update twice.
If you upgrade the OS, back up the computer first.

  • Why is Mountain Lion not compatible with my Mac Pro?

Downloading Mountain Lion to my Mac Pro (running Snow Leopard OS 10.6.8) fails with this warning" not compatible with this computer". Why is this happening? What is the solution?

Apple didn't drop graphics cards. What they did is force 64b boot mode.  What that means is any Mac that does have a EFI64, Mac Pro 2006-2007 cannot use Mountain Lion at all.  And any machine using certain video cards that don't have 64b drivers are also not able to use it.
It is a shame that they decided to do it, but that is the way of large companies no days.  There is no real reason to upgrade to ML unless you really need notifications, iCloud, and iMessage on your Mac.
What is sad is they removed the ability for people to buy Lion.  So if you didn't go to lion you have already lost some apps in the app store, cause they require Lion or Mountain Lion.

  • IPad not compatible with my Mac OS 10.4.11

Got my 3G iPad yesterday only to find out that it is not compatible with my current MacPro (OS 10.4.11). So no syncing for me.
My husband's Macbook is on OS 10.5.6, which I think will work BUT once I upgrade my computer will the iPad be like an iPod and only recognize his computer? I don't want to sync it to his laptop if I don't have the option to re-sync it to mine later.
    HELP!

    Welcome to Apple Discussions!
It won't work on his machine either. He needs to upgrade to 10.5.8. See the specs page here:
    http://www.apple.com/ipad/specs/
    Even the store page here:
    http://store.apple.com/us/browse/home/shop_ipad/family/ipad
Both say a minimum of 10.5.8 and iTunes 9.1.
Don't know where you got your iPad, but you should always read the entire page of where you buy it from to make sure your system meets the requirements.
Before upgrading to 10.5.8 or later, consider the following*:

    For older Macs that aren't supported in Firefox 4+ versions, try TenFourFox for PowerPC's running Mac 10.4.11 & 10.5.8 . <br />

  • Pro6830 not compatible with my Mac OS X 10.6.8

I can't install the HP Officejet Pro 6830 as it says it nrequire OS X v10.7  The support website was not help.  Thanks!

    Hey @Platberg,
Welcome to the HP Support Forums!
I'm sorry to hear that you were not able to locate the Mac OS x 10.6.8 drivers for your product. With these new release printers unfortunately you need to be running the latest Operating Systems. For your product you will need to be running Mac OS X 10.7 and up in order to use the Full Feature Software and Drivers.
You have two options at this point:
Option 1: Upgrade your Mac OS X Operating System to at least 10.7:
Upgrading your Operating System will also help with other programs and products that will eventually lose their Mac OS X 10.6.8 support.
Update OS X and App Store apps on your Mac
Option 2: Use the HP Eprint App as a Temporary Printing Workaround:
Step 1: Configure your Printer on the Wireless Network:
    Gather the following items:
Network name: The network name is the SSID (Service Set Identifier).
Network password: The password might also be called the WEP key or WPA security passphrase.
A computer connected to the wireless network.
Internet access: HP recommends broadband Internet access such as cable or DSL for software downloads, using Web Services, and getting printer updates.
Make sure that the router and computer are turned on, and that the computer is connected to the same wireless network you want to connect the printer to. Turn on the printer and place it close to the computer and within range of the router during the setup procedure.
Disconnect any USB or Ethernet cable from the printer.
Step 2: Connect to the wireless networkFollow these steps to use the Wireless Setup Wizard to connect the printer to your wireless network.
On the printer control panel, swipe the display to scroll to Setup, and then touch the Setup icon (). The Setup menu displays.
Touch Network Setup, touch Wireless Settings, and then touch Wireless Setup Wizard.
Follow the instructions on the printer control panel to connect the printer to your wireless network.
Step 3: Set up Eprint On your Product:
HP ePrint is a free service that allows you to print documents and photos from any mobile or network-connected device (such as a phone, laptop, tablet, or other mobile device) to your HP ePrint-enabled printer. Each HP ePrint-enabled printer has its own unique email address. After you enable HP ePrint on your HP ePrint-enabled printer, you can print from your mobile or network-connected device by sending an email to your HP printer's email address. With HP ePrint, you can print from anywhere, at any time. If you can send an email, you can use HP ePrint.
HP Web-Connected Printers and Supported Cloud Services for HP Printers
After setting up your printer on your wireless network you need to print a Network Configuration Report to get your IP Address.
How to Print a Network Config Report:
On the printer control panel, touch the Wireless icon () or the Ethernet icon (), and then touch the Settings icon ().
Touch Print Reports, and then touch Network Configuration Page
    3. At the top under 'General Information' locate the URL for Embedded Web Server.
    4. On your computer you need to open up the Internet Browser and type in the URL that you found on the Network Config. Report. The website for the printer should now load.
    5. Under the website (Embedded Web Server) for your printer there should be a 'Web Services' tab at the top, you need to select that.
    6. Under the Web Services tab select 'Continue' to enable the feature and 'Agree' to the terms of use.
Step 4: Create an Eprint Account:
After enabling Web Services on your printer a Web Services confirmation page containing the printer's claim code prints.
Go to HP Connected , and then click Create Account.
Enter your information in the text fields, click the checkbox to accept the terms of use, and then click Create Account.
On the Welcome to HP Connected window, click Continue.
Click the Devices tab (if not already selected).
    Click Add a Device.
Type the printer's claim code found on the Web Services confirmation page, and then click Add.
Click OK. The You have successfully added your printer window opens.
NOTE: HP sends an email to the account you used during the registration process. Open the email, click Confirm email address, and then sign in to HP Connected to complete the verification step.
Click the Devices tab (if not already selected).
Next to the icon for your printer, click Settings.
Next to the icon for your printer, click Settings. The status of your printer displays above the printer icon.
Under the printer's current ePrint email address, click Change Address.
Type a new email address in the text box, and then click OK.
If the email address is available, your settings update immediately.
If the email address is not available, try a different address or click one of the suggested addresses, and then click OK.
Inform any allowed senders of the new ePrint email address.
Please refer to the document: Setting Up a Custom Email Address for HP ePrint if you have any further issues with the Eprint Setup process.
This seems like a lot of steps but it really isn't bad once you get started. I just wanted to give you as much detail as possible to make this workaround a simple one.
Please let me know if this helps to resolve your issue for now until you're able to upgrade your Mac OS X for Full Feature Driver and Software compatibility. Good luck!

  • Some Fonts Not Compatible with Intel Macs?

    ID CS3.
I have an Intel Mac running Tiger, and opened a ID CS3 file and installed the PostScript fonts that travelled along with it. Or tried to anyway! :)
The fonts would make FAP3 quit when I'd try to import them. And they wouldn't work properly if I installed them manually in ~/Library/Fonts.
    Corrupt fonts I'm a thinking!
So I diagnosed them in Font Doctor which found no problems at all.
Then I tried using the fonts and the ID CS3 file on an older PPC Mac, and everything works perfectly!
Has anyone heard of PostScript fonts not working at all on Intel Macs?

Thanks Nini, but I also went to the extent of installing a new internal HD and installing & fully updating the OS on it. Same problem.
I believe Buko is correct about these fonts. Customer is going to need to buy new ones! :)

  • I have a mac book 10.6.8 that has been upgraded to Snow Leopard (latest version.) How can I upgrade to mountain lion with 1GB of memory? When I go to buy it, it says that it's not compatible with my Mac but my Mac has all of the qualifications.

If anyone has any idea I'd really appreciate it. I just bought the iphone 5 and recieved the new nano as a birthday gift and now I'm up a creek without a paddle b/c I can't plug them into my laptop without the new itunes that runs on Mountain Lion.
Please help, I'm not very tech savvy.

You don't need anything higher than OSX 10.6.8 to run iTunes 11.  iTunes system requirements - http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
You can't upgrade without more RAM.
