Mobile layout shows as desktop on phone
I created a mobile layout about a year ago that always appeared as it was designed. Recently I was informed by my client that the desktop version shows on the phone. I checked the layout on a simulator and it looked like the designed mobile layout. Why would the phone not be accessing the mobile layout?
I have tried placing the layout on the master, making little changes and republishing, but I still get the destop layout on my phone.
Suggestions?
I logged on from my phone on 7/23/2013 and now it renders correctly!

IE7 locks onto Mobil layout vs desktop layout
I am developing a new site and using the fluid grid layout. I have tested it on my laptop in Firefox v18, Internet Explorer 9, and Chrome v24. Everything was fine until I tested it on an XP desktop. Everything looked fine in Firefox v18 on the desktop, however, Internet Explorer 7 did not show the Content1 and Content2 as side by side columns that all the other browsers showed. In using the IE Developer Tool Bar it shows that the division style for them is width=100%. In reviewing my css the only place where Content 1 and Content 2 has width=100% is in the Mobile Layout for 480px and below. The Tablet and Desktop Layout both have those widths below 50%.

It just seems like IE7 is locking onto the very first section of the css and not moving to the desktop and I just haven't been able to solve this so any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

VerneI have been doing a lot of looking around for possible solutions to this IE 7 issue with media queries. While there were a lot of diverse views on the subject I came across an article that seemed to be an easier solution to try than everything else. I downloaded the js file they recommended, copied and pasted

How do I stop firefox from showing mobile content on my desktop
I was wondering if anyone could assist me with this problem. Firefox shows mobile content on my desktop (such as going to Yahoo Sports page) instead of desktop content on my desktop. I have tried clearing cookies and c ache, and that has not solved my problem. Thanks in advance!
Oh, Yahoo! might have stored its decision in a cookie, or in a cached file. You probably need to clear those again. You've done it before, but just for reference:
(1) Bypass Firefox's Cache
Use Ctrl+Shift+r to reload the page fresh from the server.
Alternately, you also can clear Firefox's cache completely using:
orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Options > Advanced
On the Network mini-tab > Cached Web Content : "Clear Now"
If you have a large hard drive, this might take a few minutes.
(2) Remove the site's cookies (save any pending work first). While viewing a page on the site:
* right-click and choose View Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
* Alt+t (open the classic Tools menu) > Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
Then try reloading the page. Does that help? -

I visited your site using Dreamweaver CC and tested it using the default Desktop, Tablet and Mobile sizes, followed by the Smart Phone Size.
The CSS you currently have sets the featurest <div> to 'display: none' when viewed on screen sizes lower than 480px:
Another helpful way to find out what is going on with your CSS is to test the site with Firefox using Web Developer Tools to inspect the element (or alternatively, Adobes Inspect tool). You can right-click the image and "Inspect Element" then resize the browser window so you can see exactly which CSS rule is being applied and overrided.
My suggestion would be to add an additional media query in Dreamweaver to handle all screen sizes below 480px and then set divs or elements you want to hide or show display property to visible.

Using different templates for the desktop and phone versions of the same blog
I have a site which was created in Adobe Muse and is hosted on Business Catalyst.
I have created both a desktop and a phone versions of the site.
I want to know how I can integrate the blogs that I currently have on the desktop site with the phone version that I just did, using different templates for the desktop and phone versions of the same blog. This is in order to ensure that visitors to the blogs on the website are directed to the templates that render correctly for the devices they are using.
My current approach has been to create both a desktop and phone versions of the blogs. The problem with this however, is that the dates are different and the comments are separated between the two blog versions!
I have also tried enabling mobile templates in BC, but still couldn't find a way to specify the mobile versions of the templates for the same blog?
To recap my problem, I basically need a solution where the same blog uses different templates for desktop and mobile (both templates use different navigation headings and menu styles)

Using Muse to add a mobile layout to an existing Site?
I have some customers who already have live sites built outside of Muse who are interested in adding a mobile layout. Is it possible to add a mobile layout with muse to an existing site? I plan on trying this out this weekend but wanted to know if anybody beat me to it.
Thanks!If you're looking to design and publish just a mobile site, you can easily do it through Muse. When you start a new project in Muse you can select the Initial layout to be Phone and begin planning and designing your mobile site. If required, you can later add the Desktop and Tablet layouts to your project as well. Then when you're ready to publish your mobile site (to either Adobe hosting through Business Catalyst or to your own third party host), you can upload the site to a host directory of your choice so as to not touch the existing desktop site files. Alternatively, you always have the option to export the site as HTML and publish it anywhere you like through a FTP client like WinSCP or Filezilla.

Sorry, it could be as simple as a CSS color: selector set to the same color as your background, but all problems and solutions are in your code
We need to see ALL your files to solve your issue quickly and accurately without a lot of guessing and questions back-and-forth.
To prevent others from seeing a page with errors, just rename a copy of your problem page (such as "test.html") and upload it to your server (with any associated files) in whatever folder the original page was located, and simply post a link in the Forum and tell us your problem.
This saves you having to cut and paste miles of code into the Forum for the page and all the dependent CSS, JS etc. files.and saves us from having to recreate all your files, find your images and then repair your code and test the solution for you.

a while back i was in a group chat and was spammed with thousands, yes, thousands of texts at once. when i started up my computer, imessage attempted to load the messages. Now, when i send a message it will show up on my phone, but i cant see it on my computer, when i hit send it just vanishes. this is an improvement from months ago however, when my messages wouldnt even send. im running 10.8.5.
Please read this whole message before doing anything.
Back up all data.
Quit Messages if it’s running.
Step 1
Hold down the option key and select
Go ▹ Library
from the Finder menu bar. Move the following items from the Library folder to the Trash (either may not exist):
Caches/com.apple.Messages
Caches/com.apple.imfoundation.IMRemoteURLConnectionAgent
Leave the Library folder open. Log out and log back in. Try Messages again. If it works now, stop here. Close the Library folder.
Step 2
If you still have problems, quit Messages again. Go back to the Finder and move the following item from the open Library folder to the Desktop:
Messages
Note: you are not moving the Messages application. You’re moving a folder named “Messages.”
Test. If Messages now works, delete the Messages folder on the Desktop. Otherwise, quit Messages again. Put back the folder you moved, overwriting the newer one that may have been created in its place, and continue.
Step 3
In the Preferences subfolder, there may be several files having names that begin with any of the following strings:
com.apple.iChat
com.apple.ids
com.apple.imdsmsrecordstore
com.apple.imessage
com.apple.imservice
Move them all to the Desktop. There may also be a file with the name "com.apple.imagent.plist". Move that to the Trash.
Also in the Preferences folder, there's a subfolder named "ByHost". Open it and do the same thing.
Log out and log back in. Test again. This time Messages should perform normally, but your settings will be lost. You may be able to put back some of the files you moved to the Desktop in this step. Relaunch and test after each one. Eventually you should find one or more that causes Messages to malfunction. Delete those files and recreate whatever settings they contained.
If the issue is still not resolved, quit Messages again and put all the items you moved to the Desktop back where they were. You don’t need to replace the items you moved to the Trash. Stop here and post again.
If you later decide that you don’t like the results of steps 2 and 3, you can undo them completely by quitting Messages and restoring the items you deleted in those steps from your backup. -
I have unlocked iphone and got walmart family mobile. I was issued a phone number initially then asked for a different one. Now when I send text messages, they show up the original number, but when I make phone calls, the id shows up the new number, I can recieve text messages to both numbers. If you try to call the first number it says it is not a working number. On my phone, if I go under "about" it says "my phone number" and it says the second number, under settings, and messaging, it says that I send and recieve messages from the original one. T-mobile, has no idea why this is happening and has tried everything to fix it
This is for iMessages only, not for text messages as in SMS/MMS.
Settings > Messages > Send & Receive > Apple ID.
Select your Apple ID and at the menu window that appears, select Sign Out.
Turn iMessage off at Settings > Messages > iMessage.
Then follow these instructions.
You can remove an iPhone from your support profile by following these steps.
Step 1: Click on this link to open the login window of your support profile.
Step 2: Log into the website using your Apple ID – same as your iTunes login.

Muse mobile layout not full size
When I preview my mobile layout the images are not at full size. Layout size is 320X480(portrait). When I place an image it reaches the sides and shows the red line; however, when I preview the images shrink. Any suggestions?

Probably this would depend upon image size used on page , or use a rectangle with 100% width and image as fill.
