Mobile Synch is using up all my memory - can I safely delete some of the files?

I keep getting "start-up folder is full" errors when trying to run applications (such as Minecraft).  My hard disk reports only about 500MB free space left.  When I review my files, I see many gigabyets in the application data folder under "Mobile Synch."
Can I delete some or all of these files with affecting other operations?

Profiles with a .slt file extension are profiles from a Mozilla Suite or SeaMonkey profile and you can remove such a profile if you aren't using those applications anymore.
