Mobile Web Server installation failure

Hi Forum,
I have used the server on my phone previously. It worked well.
Now after a updating my phone, I cannot even install the application. It runs through the installtion and then starts a "installing web server" half way through which it fails!
Despite installation failure it features in my App Manager but not in 'My Own' folder. I uninstall it and reinstall to no avail.
I am a Nokia N93 user.
Would greatly appreciate assistance as I want to demo the software for my class.
Best,
wirefree

I had exactly the same problem ("Installation failed" at install time) but finally got it running.
My steps:
0. I removed the unfinished installation of the MWS.
1. I manually installed the Open-C libs (only glib.sis, pips_nokia_1_3_SS.sis and ssl.sis) from the SDK here: http://www.forum.nokia.com/main/resources/technologies/openc_cpp/
2. Then I manually installed python (PythonScriptShell_1_4_4_3rdEd.sis) from here: http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=154155&package_id=171153&release_id=609802
3. Finally I reinstalled the mobile web server (v1.4 beta) . No error message anymore. Everything works like a charm now. Hope this helps. :-)
Kind regards,
Florian

  • Problem with the Installation of Mobile Web Server...

I have a N95. I have been trying to install Mobile Web Server on it. The installation fisnishes but the icons are all separeted and there is no only one icon for the program (MWS, MWSChat, MWSBlog, MWS).
Reading the manual of the software I realized that something should run after the installation but nothing is
executed. I tried to install it on memory card, main memory
    >with no success. Is there any bug reported about it?

Hello, this is a known problem with new 1.2 release. Please refer to my blog post and stay tuned for a fix.

  • Mobile Web Server: suggestions

Say you want to remote-start your cellphone webserver. What do you do? Well, first you have to log in on the "Mobile web Server" webpage, and then click on the "Start the server here" link.
This is very much bending over backwards. Why not provide a "start server" link on the offline page, asking for login data? It is very likely that the only bookmark you'll have is to your own mobile website, not to the "Mobile web server" homepage as well. This way, if your server is not online, you'll end up on your offline page. From there you'll have to surf over to the "Mobile web Server" homepage, log in, and then finally find the "start server link." Very unintuitive! Very cumbersome.
Please put a "start server" link on the offline page!
    Thanks.

Your feedback will most likely not be noticed by the relevant people here.
A better place to leave it is on the mobile web servers forum:

If anyone's using this, you'll know what a funky little application it is - and for free too? WOW
However... if you update your firmware, it may not work first time, so I'd suggest you back up the web server files - but there's no backup feature, so I'd recommend using the built in Zip software - zip the whole Web Server folder, then reinstall the Mobile Web Server software (you don't have to uninstall it first), then extract the zipped files back to the original folder...
It worked a treat for me

  • Windows Server 2008 (TS) and Lync Web App installation failure

    Hey folks,
I've run into a little big problem due the Lync Web App installation via mstsc on a stand alone Terminal Server 2008 SP2 64 Bit. When I tried to install the Lync Web App Plugin via
mstsc and standard user I get the message:
    "The system administrator has
set up a policy that the installation
    prevents"
    Till that it's just fine.
The next thing I did is to disable the UAC and DEP, but same problem as above. I also tried to extract the install EXE for the MSI packages to allow the installation. But did not work.
After I searched the internet for an answer relating to this problem I've had to create or change a RegEdit entry. So I switched to the registry to:
    HKEY_Local_Machine\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\Installer
and created a DWORD entry DisableMSI and set it to 0. Then I tried the installation of Lync Web App Plugin via
mstsc and standard user again and this message appeared:
"The installer has encountered an unexpected error installing this package. This may indicate a problem with this package. The error code is 2755"
Now the curious thing is, that when I am logged on locally, the standard user is able to install the Lync Web App Plugin. And it works fine. After the installation is complete I can switch to mstsc again and it works.
The only thing what doesn't work is to install Lync Web App Plugin via mstsc into the user profile.
    Any suggestions?

Before you install the application, change your user mode to installation mode.
You can run the following command with Prompt Command:
    Change user /install
After the application is installed, change back to execution mode, you can do so by running the following command:
    Change User /Execute

  • PeopleSoft Web Server installation Failing

    You guys,
I am trying to set up PeopleSoft in a test envionment, in Red Hat Linux, for development purposes (the company that I work for maps Software Infrastructure).
I managed to install the Database Server and the Application Server, both the PeopleTools and their FSCM counterparts.
I am now trying to install the Web Server, with WebLogic 9.2. However, I am unable to complete the installation properly. After I choose all the various options in PsMpPIAInstall/setup.linux, I am prompted with this message:
Warning: /opt/PT8.49/webserv/peoplesoft/applications/people soft/PSOL.war/WEB-INF/lib does not exist. (PSChangeSharedLibPermission)
    INSTALL FAILED!!!
The problem is, the directory /opt/PT8.49/webserv is completely empty. Is it supposed to be populated? When was it supposed to be populated? Which installation step did I misdo? Am I doing anything wrong?
The log file is empty, by the way, and I amn't really sure how to proceed.
    Thanks for your replies.
    Edoardo L'Astorina

What user did you use to run the PsMpPIAInstall ? Is it the owner of the Peopletools installation binaries ? Did you run the psconfig.sh script before running the deployment.
Have a look to that article I wrote some mone ago, seems similar issue :

  • Mobile Web Server "take a picture" feature

    Hi to all!
    I installed this application:
    http://mymobilesite.net/
    and I think it's great!
Only a question: does the "take a picture" feature work? When I try to take a picture from my phone (a Nokia N82) remotely, it always says: Unable to take a picture at the moment!

I'm Winston Wolf, I solve problems

    Hello.
    Thank you for your help.
I checked and now the only drive that has "/Data/Web server" is E: (so no other drive has it).
After I uninstalled the previous Web Server, I checked and the folder was not present, so now it should be "fresh".
When I turn on the web server, I can access it from the web, but I don't get any of the screens seen at http://mymobilesite.net/screenshots/
Unfortunately right now if I try to turn on the web server I get "connection timed out", so I cannot post any screenshot of how it looks like for me.
But I'm pretty sure some config file is screwed up. Can you please send me a copy of your "/Data/Web server" please?
    Kiitos,

  • Web server installation on distributed environment

    Hi Gurus,
I need some clarification as mentioned in installation document.
    document
On each remote machine in a distributed environment, install the Web applications you plan to run on that machine and then use EPM System Configurator to deploy the Web applications automatically, or manually deploy the Web applications.
if i would like to configure
    Server1: foundation, workspace
    server2: eas, planning
    server3: essbase related
should i install EAS and planning on server 1 and 2 both.
    regards
    Kumar

On the machine on which you plan to administer the WebLogic Server, you must install all Web applications for all applications you plan to deploy on any machine in the environment. (The WebLogic Administration Server is installed and deployed on the Foundation Services machine.)
So Install all the web application components on the foundation machine and on the machine you want to deploy on.
    Cheers

  • MRS  - Mobile Repository Server  installation guides

    Hi,
I'm trying to find out where the installation guide for MRS is located... Someone can help?
    Thanks in advance
    -Johan

    Hi Johan,
The Repository Server does not have a separate installation guide . The guidelines are included in the Mobile Sales Installation guide, which is included with the install DVD.
In the case of MSA 4.0 & 5.0 the Repository install is outlined in Sectio 6 of the install guide.
    Hope this helps.

  • Where is "Web Server Instance Location" for SWSE installation in HP-UX?

    Hi there,
We are using Siebel CRM SIA 8.1.1, our database version is Oracle 10g 10.2.0.2.
For Siebel Web Server Installation in HP-UX, it will asked where is the location for "Web Server Instance Location" in HP-UX.
Previously we also having problem for SUN Solaris, but there's a metalink on this (someone else raised it) and we manage to solve it.
For HP-UX, we are using HP Web Server. According to bookshelf, we should use HP Apache Web Server?
Kindly advice where is the location for "Web Server Instance Location" as per question in the installation.
I believe our Web Server is installed in /opt/hpws.
    Regards,
    Rizwan

    Issues solved.
    Basically the location will /opt/hpws/apache32
Currently Siebel 8.1.1 is only support apache32 bit.
Things that need to consider, make sure you installing the same user as the user in apache32 folder.
Means if you install apache32 as root, then you need to install SWSE as root.
In my case, even thought i install as root, the apache32 folder will belong to BIN user. Not sure why.
Then we had to install SWSE as bin user, then we manage to get the execution successfull msg.l
    Thanks

  • Secure service in Java Web server 2.0

Hi all, I have installed a Java Web Server 2.0 without the secure service running, and everything works just fine.
Then I make a self-signed certificate with authstore, using key size 1024, MD5withRSA, hostname: <my computer> (testing on local net (maybe this is what fails?)), and all the other stuff. All looks good and certificate info looks like this:
    Subject Information: CN=yodopc1, OU=SW dept, O=Yodoba, L=Z?rich, ST=Z?ric, C=CH
    Issuer Information: CN=yodopc1, OU=SW dept, O=Yodoba, L=Z?rich, ST=Z?ric, C=CH
    Dates Valid: Thu Jun 28 10:19:35 CEST 2001 --> Wed Sep 26 10:19:35 CEST 2001
    Algorithm: MD5withRSA
    Serial Number: 993716375
Then I exit, and restart (even tried rebooting machine).
Start webserver, type inn key password, and login to the Server admin applet. There it says:
Service -------------- Status ------ Port -- Network Address
    Java web server ------ Terminated - -------
    - Web service -------- Unknown --- 80 ----
    - Secure Web service - Unknown --- 7070 --
If I try to start the server, it runs for about ten seconds before it is back to the same state again. Of course trying to access server through http(s)://localhost(:7070) results in a "Cannot find server..." If I delete the keys file in <JWS-root>, everything is back to where it was before I started creating the certificate.
I have seen that there are a lot of old (1-2 years old) Posts with similar and perhaps related issues, but none of witch have any replies that finds a solution. Hopefully someone can help my now...
All help and suggestion are Greatly appriciated.
    Sjur

    Hi Sjurba,
    Please follow this URL:
    http://www.sun.com/software/jwebserver/faq/faq.html#f6
    http://docs.iplanet.com/docs/manuals/messaging/sims35/install/postwa.doc6.html
    Also read the below.
Client side workaround: Use Netscape Communicator 4.x instead of Netscape Navigator 3.x.
Java Web Server workaround: Use the VeriSign root certificate that is shipped in Java Web Server 1.1. Follow these instructions:
1.Copy or save the file named keys, located in the top level directory of your Java Web Server installation, to a secure place (for example, a floppy disk).
2.Locate the secure server certificate that VeriSign sent you.
3.Install Java Web Server 1.1 in a temporary directory. You don't need to run this server--you only need to run AuthStore to regenerate the keys file. (The install of
Java Web Server 1.1 does need not be on the same machine as the install of the Java Web Server 1.1.x that has the problem).
For the remainder of these instructions, 1.1.x server root is the installation directory of the Java Web Server 1.1.x that shows the problem. 1.1 server root is the
installation directory of Java Web Server 1.1
    4.Copy the keys file from 1.1.x server root/ to 1.1 server root/.
5.Run AuthStore under 1.1 server root. AuthStore is in the bin directory. You will need to type in the server passphrase to launch AuthStore.
6.From the scrolling list, select the key that corresponds to the secure server certificate from VeriSign.
7.Click Import and type the full path of the certificate that you received from VeriSign.
8.Click Save to write a new keys file under 1.1 server root.
    9.Click Exit.
10.Copy the new keys file from 1.1 server root/ to 1.1.x server root/.
11.Restart the Java Web Server 1.1.x under 1.1.x server root.
I hope this will help you.

I have been stumped by this error. I have tried several different ways to install this software but I always get the same error. I believe that I have the latest version of the Sun One Web Server and I received no error notifications when I installed it! Any help would be apeciated!
    Thanks!!!!!

I think this might occur if you don't have the patch for SunAlert 46042 installed. There's more information on this critical Solaris security vulnerability, which was reported back in 2002, at http://sunsolve.central.sun.com/search/document.do?assetkey=1-26-46042-1
Can you run the following command to check if you have patch 109326-09 installed and let us know the result?showrev -p | grep 109326If you don't have 109326-09 or higher installed, you should install it as soon as possible. You can follow the link from the SunAlert. Better yet, install the latest Solaris 8 recommended patch cluster from http://sunsolve.sun.com/pub-cgi/show.pl?target=patches/patch-access to make sure your system is fully patched and up to date.

  • I want to cache all files in my web server for JRE auto installation

    Hi,
I have written an application for my customer. When they access my web server, they will auto-install jre 6.12 and then load my application using jnlp. All that is done, but i want to improve in the following ways:
    1. I want to have more quiet installation of java. It should only show progress bar or just run in background. In the jre installation file (cab file), there is a file jinstall-6u12.inf, the last line is "run=%EXTRACT_DIR%\jinstall.exe /installurl=http://localhost/1.6.0_12-b04.xml /installmethod=plugin". What should I add to this line to make the installation more quiet?
    2. When my client install jre, i want them to fetch all necessary files from my web server, so when java web site is down, i can still provide files they need to install java. I am aiming jre 6.12 only.
    Thank you in advance.

In AirPort Utility 5.x.....click Manual Setup

The "Quick Erase" option will only take a few minutes, but it is not a secure Erase.
The "Zero Out" option will replace everything on the disk with zeros, and will likely take 4-6 hours for the process to complete, depending on the size of the drive.
The erase procedure will only affect the disk. It will not affect any of the network settings, passwords, etc that you have stored on the Time Capsule.
