  • How to get rid of /j2ee prefix from URL when I use the OC4J via Oracle HTTP server

In 9iAS 9.0.2 Oracle HTTP Server (OHS) is pre-configured to assign requests to the Home OC4J instance via the URL-prefix "/j2ee"/
For example, the TEST servlet under OC4J would be passed through OHS using:
    http://urmachine:urApachePort/j2ee/TEST
whereas in the standlone OC4J version, this URL works:
    http://urmachine:urOC4JPort/TEST
How to get rid of /j2ee prefix from URL when I use the OC4J via Oracle HTTP Server?

It is getting the url prefix from mod_oc4j.conf
    under /ora9ias/Apache/Apache/conf

  • Internal server error - Http server and OC4J intance

    Hi
    Internal Server error ( GET/<app name>
    Hi,
We are using AS10g R1: 9.0.4.0.0 in production and occasionally getting Internal Server Error. And to overcome this problem, everytime we have to restart the HTTP server; we tried re-staring the OC4J instance to find out whether OC4j is causing the problem, however it doesn't work until we restart the Http server. Interestingly Http server serves well other OC4j instances during the error for a particular app runing in different OC4J instance.

    Re-starting HTTP server

    Greetings,
Since we see a 500 error below in the Http server access log msg: the server is unavailable. I suggest changing the OC4J logging to "FINEST" and then run your test again (server reset etc.) and post the log here.

  • Add http server instance to 10g

    Hi all,
I have installed oracle application server 10g. But the http server instance is 0. How do I add the HTTP server instance?
This is what I get in the EM console.
    Hosts 1 Application Servers 1
    OC4J Instances 1 HTTP Server Instances 0
    Thanks

    "6838",
It appears like this may be an issue with your environment variables. When opmnctl is attempting to startup, is ORACLE_HOME set to to your new Companion CD Oracle Home? As well, can you ensure that you don't have the environment variable ORA_NLS33 set to an old location (it's unlikely this is even set, but it's worth checking).

  • Oracle HTTP Server internal heartbeat process issue

    Hi All,
I am having an Oracle HTTP Server configured in the front of Weblogic 11g. I just noticed that
in my HTTP Server access.log, there is an incoming new entry every 20 seconds like this,
    127.0.0.1 - - [19/May/2010:08:09:57 -0400] "HEAD /index.html HTTP/1.1" 200 -
    127.0.0.1 - - [19/May/2010:08:10:17 -0400] "HEAD /index.html HTTP/1.1" 200 -
    127.0.0.1 - - [19/May/2010:08:10:37 -0400] "HEAD /index.html HTTP/1.1" 200 -
It appears that it is an internal background process in HTTP server that does this.
Does anybody know what this process is and how I can stop it or just stop it from adding this entry to the log?
    Thanks,
    John Wang

    Roberto,
I checked the file opmn.xml and could not see anything related to this. However, I did find a link which addressed the issue and provided a way to stop it from writing the record in access.log.
How to stop DMS from writing to Access Log
    Thanks,

My http home directory is c:\OracleHTTP; my old HTTP directory was C:\orahttp that I deleted and reinstall Oracle HTTP Server.
I don't understand why these error is coming? even Apache is referring old http server home.
on DADS.CONF my image directory is set to
    Alias /i/ "c:\OracleHttp\Apache\images\/"
So the situation is when I invoke Apex it displays with all images, but do not move after that; i.e the screen don't move whatever you type.
Can anybody give advise what can we do to make Apex functional?
    Thanks.

The reference to old HTTP home was resolved as there were old settings on Window Registry that I deleted.
I am still getting following errors:-
[Tue Mar 31 09:10:48 2009] [error] [client 192.168.2.102] [ecid: 1238508648:192.168.2.102:944:4080:7,0] File does not exist: c:/oraclehttp/apache/apache/htdocs/favicon.ico

    Any body have ideas?

  • Certain Http Server Errors not visible in logs for Azure Websites

I noticed that a lot of times (but not every time) Http Server Errors on my Azure Website (an ASP.NET MVC app) don't show up in any logs, although they are recognized by Azure. E.g. I get alerts that Http Server Error count > 5 in the last 15 minutes,
I see the error count on the Portal under Monitoring/Requests and errors however these errors are not visible in my application's own logs or in the eventlog.xml. Thus I also can't troubleshoot them.
Now I'm not totally sure (and can't find any hints about) what exactly "Http Server Errors" mean in Azure terminology but since 4xx errors are handled separately by alerts I'd guess these are 5xx errors. If indeed then I don't understand why there
are apparently errors happening that are not visible at least in the event log?

    Hi  Zoltán Lehóczky,
For your issue ,I suggest  that  you could try to enable  site diagnostics   and application diagnostics   in Azure Management Portal.
In site diagnostics ,it will logs Detailed Error Logging which  logs detailed information for HTTP status codes that indicate a failure (status 400 or greater).
Then  you could access the folder "/LogFiles/DetailedErrors"  via Ftp to check Detailed Error Logs  which provide any HTTP errors have occurred.
For more information ,I suggest that you could refer to the link below:
    http://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/documentation/articles/web-sites-enable-diagnostic-log/

sounds like apache or oc4j is getting confused about matching to their respective partners.
I've seen it very very rarely and then AFAIR it was down to vhost misconfiguration

  • Oracle AS "Internal Server Error" (logs are available)

    Hello,
There is a J2EE web application that runs on Oracle AS 10g. Configuration is as follows:
    Oracle AS 10g
    Oracle DB 10g
    Oracle Content Management SDK
It randomly gives "Internal Server Error" but there is no explanation about what really is wrong. If you wait and try again, you can access the page that gave error previously. I use Internet Explorer 8 to access the application.
I tried restarting application server, even restarting operating system. no luck.
I also tried renewing classes12.jar jdbc driver. No change.
You may find some logs below. I can not paste whole log output here as it is to much. Only latest a few lines that may help about what is wrong.

    Hello,
First of all, thank you very much for your helpful answers.
The problem was, we launched another server for test purpose. HTTP Server in both servers collided, so changing the HTTP Server Port in test machine solved the issue.
P.S.: I didn't know test server was up when i wrote this problem in here. Sorry for misleading you.

I think we'll need some more information.
Let's start with your working environment (development mode + autodeployment). Now if you change to deploying it yourself does it still work? If not, please give me more details on exactly how you're deploying it.
Also, can you show me the server log, especially any messages or errors around your application's deployment.

  • HTTP Server Error - 403 Forbidden

    Hi all
i was checking the performance of my application server, in HTTP Server (AS instance, not infrastructure instance)
HTTP Server error rate is high, drilling down if found that i have an unusual number of 403 - Forbidden errors.
In the access.log of http server i found the following:
    10.42.40.73 - - [05/Apr/2006:15:13:43 +0100] "OPTIONS /cotacoes/ HTTP/1.1" 403 119 10.42.48.237

    10.42.40.73 - - [05/Apr/2006:15:13:43 +0100] "OPTIONS /cotacoes/ HTTP/1.1" 403 119 10.42.48.237
    10.42.40.73 - - [05/Apr/2006:15:13:43 +0100] "OPTIONS /cotacoes/ HTTP/1.1" 403 119 10.42.48.237

    10.42.40.73 - - [05/Apr/2006:15:13:43 +0100] "OPTIONS /cotacoes/ HTTP/1.1" 403 119 10.42.48.237
10.42.47.237 is the ip of the Application Server
/cotacoes is the path to an application that is deployed in OC4J ( this application is built with B4CJ framework)
i have asked the programming team to find the piece of code that was generating an OPTIONS request to the server, they could not find any reference to an OPTIONS request in all application code.
Is it some configuration in OC4J container ? or some option in BC4J ??
    my environment:
    Oracle Application Server 9.0.4
    Hp proliant dl580 server
    Windows 2003 enterprise server
    Best Regards
    Rui Madaleno

I spoke again to my local Nokia dealer and they say the problem is in my Exchange user.
My IT people say that my user is exactly the same as the rest of the people in the company…
Can anyone think of a solution???

    Hi,
This 3rd time I followed this link. But nothing new, same error.
Can you please tell me how to do follow, I cannt do the 1st step, how to change the local system to windows level account, vice-versa. It is shown mine as
    Server Configuration Manager(Local)
From here I folllowed the steps ---[I cannt insert link/image :-(]
SQL 2008/R2 setup fails with "Wait on the database engine recovery handle failed"
If I right clicked on SQL Server Service, there is no option to change the account.
    Hello,
Thanks for your patience, did you tried stesp mentioned in below article
    http://blogs.msdn.com/b/sqljourney/archive/2012/03/16/sql-2008-r2-setup-fails-with-quot-wait-on-the-database-engine-recovery-handle-failed-quot.aspx
To resolve it, follow these steps:-
When the installation throws this error, click on OK and allow it to proceed. It will fail for Database Engine, but the SQL Server service should have
been created. Check the Services console.
If the service is present, perform the following steps:-
    1. Go to SQL Server Configuration manager, right click on the SQL Server service, and change the service account (if it is local system, give
it a windows level account, and vice-versa). It might throw a WMI error but you will see the account getting updated anyway. If not, then use the Services console. Change the account for SQL Agent as well.
Use this link to change sql server service account
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms345578.aspx
    2. Next, try to start the service. It should come online.
    3. However, you will not be able to log in to the SQL Server
    4. Now stop the service and start it from the command prompt using -m -c -T3608 parameters.
    5. Now try logging in to the server using admin connection from sqlcmd (sqlcmd admin:<server name>\<instance name> ...)
    6. Once logged in, use the sp_addsrvrolemember '<domain\username>','sysadmin'.
Also add the builtin/administrators to the sysadmin role
    7. Now stop the service from the command prompt and start it from SQL Server configuration manager
You should be able to log in to the server now.
    Hope this helps someone.
