Mod__ose.conf?

I am trying to connect the Apache HTTP server to the OSE in DB. When I use the default mod__ose.conf which was built on installation, I can access the web server via http://localhost. But after I use "exportwebdomain" command to export the web domain configuration to a config file and include it in mod__ose.conf file or paste it into this file, I can not access the http server any more. It gives my an "internal error". But the information in the default mod__ose.conf file is not suitable to the web domain which is located in the Name Space. so it seems there is no way left for me. use the default mod_ose.conf to start the http server well but miss the configuration information for web doamin in name space, or use correct configuration file for web domain in mod_ose.conf, but lose the running well http server. who can tell me how to config the mod__ose.conf file so that I can keep the HTTP server running well and present the correct configuration informaiton for the web domain in my name space? Thanks alot.

Ok here some improvements, i did the exactly what you said , and reboot the machine and i got http server successfully started , but when i access http://<hostname>/pls/portal30
it took 10-20 mins and came up with "internal server error"
and i check the error_log and found alot of Java exception throws ,
one of them is org.apache.java.util.Configurations.getstring(Configurations.getstring)
I can send the error log if you want to take a look at it..
is it because modose conf? where can i found the modose info? how it works?

    I am having the same problem installing on Windows 2000. I looked at the services that were installed and two of the ones that were marked as Automatic did not start when I rebooted. They are:
    OracleiSuitesHTTPServer
    OracleOraHome81TNSListener
    I also tried to start the HTTP server from the command line but got the following error:
    D:\Oracle\iSuites\Apache\Apache>apache

    Thanx Mukul,
    You're right, mod__ose.conf appears twice in oracle_apache.conf.
    Apache http started now.
    But still i can't start the page:
    http://myhostname:7777/pls/portal30
    The DAD for portal30 is configured with Oracle username: portal30
    Oracle password: portal30
    connect string: tml000 (is the same as in portal30_sso and is defined in tnsnames.ora)
    error message:Internal Server Error
    Instead the page http://myhostname:7777/pls/portal30_sso is starting well.

    Hello!
    I use the java version 1.4.2_17.
    I detected the inconsistences regarding the java parameter settings within Config Tool.
    Because I am on Windows X86 Platform I changed the values of "Max heap size (in MB)" equal to the values of
    u2013Xmx2048 for server and dispatcher.
    Unfortunately this does not solve my problem.
    When I log into the portal I get the following error:
    Portal-Runtime Error:
    How can I find the appropriate log file?
    The main problem still is the the disp+work process that getting yellow and after a while again green.
    This interuptes the portal functionality of course...

    Also, if you installed Oracle 8i it creates a listener using port 80. Change the port number of one or the other or simply shut down the Oracle 8i http listener to avoid conflicts.

  • Frequent Apache crashes on win nt 4.0 server

    Hi,
    In our production environment we use Portal 3.0.9.8.0 and the 9iAS is on a win nt 4.0 server and the 8.1.7.0.0 rdbms is on another
    win nt server (3-tier). Other products on the 9iAS are Discoverer and Web Forms and Reports.
    The apache webserver is crashing frequently. First we received a WSADuplicateSocket error.
    After seraching on metalink we found a workaround that described to exclude mod__ose.conf in the oracle%.conf file. (e.g [#] include mod__ose.conf ). After implementing this workaround, the errors concerning the WSADuplicateSocket disappeared.
    But now after browsing a few minutes apache still crashes. Now we receive another error message:

    Apache tries to create a new child process but fails.
    My question is if there is a patch or a workaround for this that works for 99.9%
    or should I change the 9iAS environment to Linux or Unix ? Also, what are the future developments with the 9iAS ? Is Oracle planning a stable version of apache for win nt / 2000, or are that advertisement lines ?
    No offence, but it is quite irritating to solve one bug and to find another waiting for you.
    Best regards,
    Jerome

    Hi Jerome,
    We were experiencing the same issue but we eventually traced the problem.
    Apache crashed when using a Windows 2000 client and Internet Explorer 5.0. Upgrading to IE 5.01 or 5.5 sorted out our problem... Or using NT 4 as the client...
    Could this be your problem?

  • Mod_ose trouble

    Hello!
    Can't rigth configure the access to
    servlets via mod_ose.
    In error log of apache follow errors:
    LISTENER not found or address description longer than 4096 chars
    Cannot bind JIP service to LISTENER
    Try to configure both, whith MTS configuration and without it, error not
    changed.
    What the probably reason whith this trouble?
    Oracle for Linux.
    Help, please
    WBR,
    Ivan.

    Hi,
    Your step-by-step instruction on mod_ose configuration is very good and useful.
    I could get servlets running this way.
    But I can't get JSPs to execute on my 817 installation.
    I did all that you have listed here (except for steps 20 and 21 because I did not understand what those steps did. )
    I did loadjava -r -u scott/tiger jsp001.jsp
    Then in the sess_sh (as sys user), I did
    publishjsp -schema SCOTT -context /testRoot/contexts/testing jsp001.jsp
    First error it gave me is "/testRoot/contexts/ testing is not a servlet context"
    If I persist and give the same command again it gives another error
    java.sql.SQLException: ORA-29549:class SCOTT._jsp001 has changed, Java session state cleared.
    Could you please also give such instructions (continuing this) on how to deploy JSPs ?
    It will help a lot.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Deepa.

    Please follow the procedure below for mod_ose
    configuration with oracle 8.1.7.
    This procedure tested on Sun Solaris and Windows NT.
    The same should work on other unix platforms also.
    1. In the init.ora set the
    mts_dispatchers = "(PROTOCOL=tcp)"
    and restart the database.
    2. Invoke the sess_sh tool.
    sess_ss -u sys/change_on_install -s jdbc:oracle:oci8@
    3. $ createwebservice -root /testRoot testService
    3. $ chown -R SCOTT /testRoot
    4. $ chmod -R +rwx SCOTT /testRoot
    5. Create a directory /tmp/test (on UNIX)
    $createwebdomain -docroot /tmp/test /testRoot
    on NT
    Create a directory c:\test
    $createwebdomain -docroot c:\test /testRoot
    5. $createcontext -virtualpath /testing -docroot /tmp/test /testRoot testContext
    on NT
    $ createcontext -virtualpath /testing -docroot c:\test /testRoot testContext
    6. addendpoint -port 2020 -register testService main
    7. $ chmod -R +rwx SCOTT /testRoot
    8. Come out of the session shell.
    9. Now invoke sql*plus and connect as sys user and run the DBMS_JAVA.grant_permission.
    On UNIX
    exec dbms_java.grant_permission('SCOTT','SYS:java.io.FilePermission','/tmp/test/test.txt','read');
    commit;
    On NT
    exec dbms_java.grant_permission('SCOTT','SYS:java.io.FilePermission','c:\test\test.txt','read');
    commit;
    Now create a file say test.txt in /tmp/test (On UNIX) or c:\test (On NT) and try to
    acess it from the browser.
    http://machine.com:2020/test.txt
    This should return the test.txt on the browser. If it gives ant java exceptions please check
    for the DBMS_JAVA.GRANT_PERMISSION arguments.
    10. Create a java file Hello.java
    import javax.servlet.*;
    import javax.servlet.http.*;
    public class Hello extends HttpServlet {
    int i =0 ;
    public void doPost ( HttpServletRequest req, HttpServletResponse res )throws ServletException, java.io.IOException {

    out.flush();
    out.close();
    public void doGet( HttpServletRequest req, HttpServletResponse res )throws ServletException, java.io.IOException {

    14. $ publishservlet -virtualpath /Hello /testRoot/contexts/testContext Hello SCOTT:Hello
    15. $ chmod -R +rwx SCOTT /testRoot
    16. Now from the browser invoke the servlet by using
    http://machine.com:2020/testing/Hello
    Mod_ose configuration:

  • Oracle Servlet Engine/Apache

    Hi,
    I am trying to jsp published in oracle throught Apache.
    In my tnsnames.ora configuration is like
    inst1_http = (DESCRIPTION=
    (ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=tcp)
    (HOST=alex)(PORT=7988))
    (CONNECT_DATA= (SERVICE_NAME=myserver)
    (SERVER=shared)
    (PRESENTATION=http://testservice) ) )
    I have specified service_name as webserver name given in httpd.conf (ServerName=myserver) of Apache.
    Presentation is given as webservice created under the service folder in sess_sh environment.
    When I try to connect through the browser by giving port 7777 which is listener at Apache the httpd_error_log gives
    Connection to [(DESCRIPTION=(ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=TCP)(HOST=alex)(PORT=7988))(CONNECT_DATA=(SERVER=SHARED)(SERVICE_NAME=myserver)(PRESENTATION=http://testservice)))] failed
    Also when I type http://alex:7777 it gives
    Service Temporarily Unavailable.
    The server is temporarily unable to service your request due to maintenance downtime or capacity problems. Please try again later.
    Is anything wrong in the Service_Name ? What it should be ? I have included
    AuroraService inst1_http in mod__ose.conf file.

    you can skip ose (a truely dredful product), and use orion

  • Apache on win2k

    Apache doesn't start on my Windows 2000 SP1 machine.
    The error log reports:
    Syntax error on line 2 of C:\9iAS\iSuites\Apache\Apache\conf\mod__ose.conf:
    Cannot load c:/9ias/isuites/apache/apache/modules/orajipa8i.dll into server:
    If I comment out the line Apache starts ok.
    Any ideas ?
    Mike

    Yes I know. This is because the file mod__ose.conf is included twice. Once in httpd.conf and other in oracle_apache.conf.
    Since oracle_apache.conf is included in httpd.conf, there is a duplicate entry for mod__ose.conf. Hence while trying to load the dll which is already loaded, it is raising error.

  • 9i Appliaction Server

    Help!
    I have installed successfully 9i Application Server EE on oracle 8i EE 8.1.6 rel 2. There are no errors or nothing so it seems everything is running fine but i want to check that all the components of HTTP server like jserv, jsp,mod_plsql, xdl that they are working and listening client request. How do i do it? I appriciate if somebody can help me.
    Thanks in advance.

    To verify that they are set up to be started in the first place. Check the httpd.conf and oracle_apache.conf files. You should see something like this in the httpd.conf file:
    # Include the configuration for Apache JServ 1.1
    include "c:\oraias\Apache\Jserv\conf\jserv.conf"
    # Include the Oracle configuration file for custom settings
    include "c:\oraias\Apache\Apache\conf\oracle_apache.conf"
    And something like this in the oracle_apache.conf file:
    include "c:\oraias\Apache\Apache\conf\mod__ose.conf"
    include "c:\oraias\Apache\modplsql\cfg\plsql.conf"
    include "c:\oraias\xdk\admin\xml.conf"
    include "c:\oraias\Apache\jsp\conf\ojsp.conf"
    These ".conf" files contain startup parameters for Apache and all it's modules.
    To see if they've actually started look at the error_log.log file in the Apache Logs directory. If a module hasn't started, it should make an entry here. You can check specific module log files for more information.
    Another option would be to run an application that utilizes the module in question. You can do this using some of the examples provided by Oracle. These can be accessed through the Oracle_http homepage.

  • EBS HTTP SERVER CONFIGURATION

    Hi Friends,
    I am learning to configure the EBS http server. Where do I find the file the contains the DAD (database access discriptor)?
    I read the docs and it told me to run
    http://titan.ebs.com:8000/pls/admin_/ but it as asking
    a password. What is the default password for the VISION
    EBS default installation?
    In configuring iAS HTTP server which one among the .conf it created is called "Database Access Descriptor(DAD)"? I am confused with lots of .conf in the directory $ORACLE_HOME/Apache/ who is the DAD here.
