Model 57H83 No Picture

We have had a Rear projection Toshiba for about 10 years. Model # 57H83. Today we were trying to make the TV work with an antena instead of Cable.  We were also  trying to get the X-box 360 to work.  What we found is that when ever we change the TV/Video to Ant 1, Video 1, Video 2, Video 3, & Ant 2 we can get sound but no picture just a green background with squiggly lines.  When we put it on Colorstream 5 HD we can get picture & sound.
What could the problem be with the other modes??
Please help.

Have the same problem, ever figure it out?

  • Iphone (original model) not taking pictures

My Iphone isn't taking pictures anymore. When I snap a picture, it looks like it is storing it but when I go to look at the photo gallery, all the images are blank. When I plug in the phone to sync it, it doesn't trigger my computer's software to download the images.
    Thanks.

Yes, I am experiencing the same problem as are many iPhone camera addicts. There are quite a few threads on this issue here on the Apple Support board and although I have not heard anything I am sure Apple is aware of this issue.
Several people including my self have had their iPhone replaced at the Apple store because of this issue only to find it was a software issue and not hardware. Sit tight, I believe the next update will fix this and several other nagging problems that has cropped up recently.

  • How do you get the iPhone 4 camera to take larger pictures?

GSM Model is the AT&T one? Just want to make sure I'm in the right spot. I have an AT&T iPhone 4.
Well I notice that when I take photos and I laod them on my computer to color correct them or whatever, they are a very small size (11x8 @ 72dpi) Obviously when you up the dpi the image gets smaller, in this case when you change the dpi to 300 the picture becomes a 1x2 image. Not suitable for printing at all.
How can I change the output picture settings on the iPhone 4? On my older 3GS model it takes pictures at 28x21@ 72 dpi, and when you up the dpi to 300 it makes it roughly a 4x6. Very suitable for printing a clean picture. There has to be a way to change the settings on the iPhone 4.

I agree with randy something your doing on your computer is compressing the pictures when I open a photo taken with my iPhone 4 its 1936 X 2592 which is a huge photo it only shows me the picture at 33 percent so im not sure what your doing differently my document size is 26 inches by 36 inches if that helps

  • Im Trying To Learn Java :o(

    Hey All,
I have decided to get my mind active and randomly learn Java. I say randomly because i am going to be a student again in IT but i like the kinda 3D side and modelling and nice pictures and flash actionscript lol not all this stuff.
Anways i would just start by saying that Java offends me massivly, i know something happened with M$ and Sun and ever since then all i have had with the sun download is problem after problem and crashing and all iw as tryin to do was play some Jippii games. This aint a recent problem, it always happens and i must have reformatted xp around 7 times. So i stay away from applets!!!
Anyways in 2002 when i started learning Flash it was because i seen a site i liked and wanted to do that. The equivelent is kinda like me saying "OK GUYS I HAVE JAVA NOW HOW DO I MAKE DOOM" anyways 2 and a half years later im happy with what i can do and have used alot of different apps and learned alot from 3dsmax to aftereffects etc.
Anyways my goal out of this whole Java thing is to make a game like one i used to play when i was younger on the Amiga 500. No where has this game and a modern one would be great to play. The graphics suck but the physics were really nice.
    So my questions are:
    1) Java. Ok im going to be honest, i know nothing about Java, i dont even know if it can do what i want and what i really dont want is to spend a while learning this to be stuck with no effects for my game, ie are small particle effects possible in Java? I know Java is pretty slow for a proper language compared to C/C++ but how slow? Can you shift a hundred particles around the screen and still add physics in the background?
    2) Java. The whole thing confuses me massivly. Im not a big posting person as i tend to prefer searching but i dont even know where to begin. I will bite the bullet and say i aint going to have alot of problems with the syntax of the language itself. It all looks kinda how i expect it, obviously i dont mean i aint gonna have problems and lot of them but it is not REALLY alien to me to look at a bit code. At the same time it is. I need to know alot of stuff, things that the 2 ebooks i have just ignored. For example, when i compile something, i thought that meant it compiled to the EXE but infact it turned my "heyworld.java" into a "heyworld.class" file. This just makes no sense to me atall because i HATE command line stuff, i see it as reinventing the wheel so im trying to follow through on first of all netbeans (an that went off almost instantly) and a free one that got my hey world to work (well, class). I need to know if a compiler dont make a exe then whats the class for and what exactly is a class file. You know just stuff like that? Does anyone know i kinda dictionary so to speak? baby talk i mean, so far all i seem to get is explainations with words i dont understand.
    3) How difficult is it to make a 2D game in Java? To make this plainer, i aint having an applet run somewhere, i want a nice downloadable exe. Of course i will need to start at the beginning but i mean to get a ship on the screen with keys to move it and a "cave" roof to crash into, is this going to take a long long long time to get to that stage? You see, as i said before unless after a few days i have a object on screen to work with, i just get too bored to continue. for example "the object of this is to make a red circle move across the screen" REALLY interests me where as "today we are going to make a mock system for a small business user" sends me back to 3Dmax and the lighting i was reading about lol I tend to look at a piece of code and be devestated by its complexity then try and make it make sense over time. Is this possible with Java? It does work for me this, i was picking apart a isometric code in actionscript before i knew what a tween was.
    4) Theres so many different J*** J"EE things floating around that i dont actually know what one i am meant to use? I got 1.4.2 i think but thats all i know. Id like any other things that helped yourselfs start off in Java?
Sorry to go into a bit detail here, its just that with this degree im starting, it soon branches off into 2 groups. Programmers and Designers. I feel i know the design side well enough to make a comparison but it would be rude to leave this side of the things out and write it off without atleast giving it a shot.
Thank you very much for your time :o)
    Kind regards,
    Clarky.

If you want an idea of what's possible with Java, do a google search for "java games" or something like that. I've seen occasional postings of what are supposed to be pretty cool games that have been written in Java, but I'm not into games, so I've never bothered to check 'em out personally.
As to whether you can do it, well, you'll have to figure that out. Learning Java well enough to create a video game is not a trivial task. I don't just mean the syntax of the language, I mean the many APIs you'll be using, concepts like multithreading and exception handling, good OO principles, etc. Without a good handle on that stuff, your code will quickly turn into a morass that will be difficult to enhance, maintain, or debug.
I suspect that the code to make a particular graphical event occur will be more verbose and complex in Java than in ActionScript, given that Java is a general purpose language and AS is more geared to GUIs. Nonetheless, I'm sure there are APIs out there (some free, some not) that will provide some higher level constructs than the core APIs to make some of that easier. You'll still be operating in the idiom of a general programming language though.
There may also be a hybrid solution available--where you use Java to express the game logic and another language to express the graphics. I don't know anything about this kind of stuff though, so that's just speculation.
You may get more precise advice in the GUI Building forums on http://forum.java.sun.com/ than here.

  • I don't where do I start

    Concept
Construct a traffic flow simulator that models cars travelling down a laneway. You may create the simulator in several stages, each one more sophisticated than the previous. In the last stage, cars travel along the laneway at various speeds, without crashing into other cars. There is also a stoplight, which alternately stops traffic and lets traffic go.
    Design Considerations
    Architecture
We suggest that you use an architecture that has:
    1.     A driver programmer (a JApplet running in an HTML page you create and submit). Let the driver programme create the instance of the traffic simulator and start the show. Keep the driver programme simple. (See Loftus and Lewis for many examples of this sort)
    2.     The simulator classes, which include:
o     A class representing the traffic simulator itself (including the controls for starting the simulation, and testing for synchronization (see below))
o     A class representing the road (It keeps a list of the cars and where the cars are on the road)
o     A class representing a car. (You will need more than one instance of this class one for each car that is running)
o     A class representing a stoplight (You only need one instance.)
    Responsibilities
To make the simulation work, you will need to have cars that have a position on the road.
Each car (running on its own thread) will update its position according to its current speed. It is required that you use threads.
The road becomes the class that collects these cars. Therefore, it needs to create and keep a record of which instances of the car class exist.
The traffic simulator itself creates the road, and any needed controls.
The stoplight is like a car, except that it does not move (place it half way along the road), and it alternates every few seconds between red (when it is like a car on the road, and other cars cannot get past it) and green (when it is not blocking cars)
To display the road, you might have the road draw itself, and then call on each car to draw itself on the road.
    Underlying Model
It is a good idea to have a data structure of some kind to represent the simulation. Do not count on the picture of the road to also be the underlying model, because the picture is a complex set of graphic coordinates (many of which will have to change when a car moves).
Instead, think more abstractly: a road is a set of positions, and a car has one of those positions. Therefore, the underlying model of the road might be:
An array, each element of the array representing a position on the road. The car's current position is represented by a reference to the car placed somewhere in the array (like markers moving in a Parcheesi or Monopoly game).
You may choose another model. Whatever model you choose, you will have a much easier time moving a car by changing its position in the underlying model, than by trying to change it directly on the graphic display.
    Threads
Each car needs to run on its own thread. The simulator creates the instances of car, and starts its thread. The car (inside its run() method):
Sleeps for a while (the faster it is going, the less time it sleeps between moves)
Checks the road to see if can move forward.
Moves, if it won't crash into cars or stoplights, or else reduces its speed and sleeps some more...
Good practice: Inside the run() method, you need to have the above steps repeat over and over. Avoid using an infinite loop (e.g. while (true)) or even a loop based on a fixed number of iterations (e.g. for (... i<1000 ...) ) . Instead, have a boolean variable such as go and use:
    while (go) { ... }
When go is true, the steps can repeat. When you are ready to stop the thread, you set go to false. Remember to stop your thread when the car comes to the end of the road.
    Synchronization
You should implement synchronization, so that each car or stoplight gets to complete one attempt at changing the state of the road without being interrupted by another car or stoplight.
    Testing Synchronization
To help us test your implementation of synchronization, add a testsync parameter to your HTML file and to your JApplet, which you should get in the init() method. If it is not present, the road behaves normally, but if it is present, the change() method of the road should sleep for 2 seconds before returning. Adding the delay means that you should be able to see the synchronization in action: the cars will pause, too!
    Start and End of Road
You can make cars appear at the start of the road by having the simulator wait a random amount of time, and then create a new instance of car. When cars get to the end of the road, you can let them disappear. Alternatively, you can make your road circular, i.e., have the end of the road feed cars into the beginning again. It is easy to make the road circular: just make sure that in the underlying model of the road, the next element after the final one is the first element again. The use of modular arithmetic
    (index++)% myArray.length;
can make this easy. (Of course, if your road is circular, you may have to rethink how cars start ...)
    Graphic display
Once you have an underlying model, and the cars move along the road on the underlying model, then it is easy to draw a picture of the road with the cars on it in their current position.
    Some hints:
Draw the track on a JPanel that is just for the road, the stoplight and the cars. Keep any other displays in other places.
Use the repaint() method of JPanel to redraw it, invoking super.paint(g); as the first statement of the paint() method. (It is also possible to create your own draw methods() instead.)
The road can be drawn as a long rectangle going horizontally across the JPanel.
It is sufficient to make a rectangle to represent a top-down view of a car. To get fancier:
o     Draw a rectangle of car colour
o     Put a black edge around it
o     Put a smaller black edge in the centre of it (for the top)
o     Put the car number on the top of the car.

                         CAR1                    CAR2                     STOP

  • Trim marks positioning incorrect for files that have a larger crop box than trim box

I've seen this question in one other place on the forum, but it doesn't look like it ever got answered. It's been driving me nuts for months, so I'm going to try to do a very simple walkthrough for this problem to find out if this is a glitch in the software, or I'm doing something wrong.
When telling Acrobat XI Pro to print a PDF with "Trim Marks," the marks are applied to the "CropBox" instead of the "TrimBox." As far as I'm concerned, this is incorrect behavior. Acrobat 9 Pro, on the other hand, applies the Trim Marks to the TrimBox. Since I receive files with bleed and need to print out a sample on the printer on a regular basis, I have found it necessary to leave Acrobat 9 installed just to print these files. I've done a very simple walkthrough on how to generate a very simple mockup file from InDesign and output it to better illustrate the problem.
I've created a new InDesign document that is 5x7 inches with 1/8" bleed. To make it easier to spot the applicable boxes in the file, I've made a box with a 1/2 point stroke. I made a magenta stroked box that's 5x7 inches to signify the trim, and a cyan stroked box that's 5.25 x 7.25 inches to signify the bleed. I then output it to a high resolution PDF. For the purposes of this example to make sure this can be replicated easily, I'm using the built-in [PDF/X-4:2008] preset to start off with. The only adjustment I'm making to this preset is going to the "Marks and Bleeds" section to check the "Use Document Bleed Settings."
When opening the resulting PDF in Acrobat XI Pro, you can see that the various "Page Boxes" have been applied properly. "CropBox" is set to 0 to include all of the artwork in the file, "BleedBox" is set to 0 since there's nothing outside of the bleed area in this pdf, and "TrimBox" is set to 0.125 in since we gave this file 1/8" bleed. When going to print the file, you can go to "Advanced" and then "Marks and Bleeds" to enable printing with the "Trim Marks." Once you click ok, you can see in the preview image that the trim marks are lining up to the cyan box instead of the magenta box.
As an extra step, it's possible to confirm that the trim marks are going to the crop box and not the bleed box or trim box. If you add a slug to your InDesign document and reoutput the pdf (being sure to include the slug area in the "Marks and Bleeds" section), you will find that the Trim Marks are even further outside of the cyan box. If you output your PDF from InDesign with Trim Marks already applied, you can turn on the Trim Marks option when going to print in Acrobat to see that Acrobat's Trim Marks are going outside of the crop box as well instead of overlapping the ones generated by InDesign.
Is there any fix for this behavior aside from opening the files in Acrobat 9 and printing from there instead?

yes, in the pure definition of the word in the world of print, Crop DOES equal trim...in the exact concept of what YOU see it as.
in Adobe's little bubble, they decided to call the outer box the "Crop" so that they could differentiate between trim and crop in the page box model.
These pictures should help, if not, I'm not going to continue to explain something that you don't want to grasp.
Each picture shows what Acrobat is calling each page box line.  since they felt the need to call one trim and one crop, you have to widen your concept of what Adobe is defining "crop" as.  Not saying its right, but it is what they are doing, and what is causing the whole issue.
All that aside, if you are not understanding the page box model, then your PDFs are probably not set up this way, so you probably wouldn't even notice the change... So why are you posting on this thread?

  • External Monitor won't work

I have a MBP 17" Late 2011 model with the Intel HD 3000 and AMD 6770M grpahics cards. I have read through many of these posts and found the exact same problem that I am having as well. I hook up a monitor through the VGA connection; Windows sees the monitor and even correctly idenifies the model; however no picture on the screen.  Also, when monitor is connected is shows the startup windows screen and even the Safe boot screen; but the second it gets into the desktop the screen goes away on the 2nd monitor. I have tried many of the solutions; updating boot camp drivers, updating AMD drivers, etc. and no joy.  When updating the AMD drivers, AMD's website detected that the hardware was the 6700 series and windows 64-bit; gave me the drivers to install and when installed the drivers their program ended up saying that the hardware was incompatible and not the right one.  Why is this so hard and can anyone tell me what to do, also is it possible to get windows to see the Intel HD 3000 card or is that just not possible.

I have followed your advice and still no go with dual monitor through VGA.  However, here is an interesting note.  Using the ATI drivers from bootcamp 4.0 disk, the program detects the graphics card as a 6740 and not a 6770M.  However, AMD's own website detects it as what Apple stats in their specs, a 6770M and when it give the the drivers to install that, the program won't load it saying it is the incorrect hardware/software match up, but it does the SAME decting with the boot camp drivers and goes a head and installs the drivers for the 6740.  I am not sure what to do, so here's a run down again of what I have and what I need to do:
    MBP 17" 2.4 GHz Intel i7, 4GB RAM 1333
    Bootcamp 4.0
Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit edition
Trying to use dual monitors through the VGA adapter, VGA adapter and cable work (works in safe mode, start up, and in OSX).  Once in Windows 7 desktop, 2nd monitor goes dark and won't respond.  I have gone into safe mode, uninstalled the display drivers, clean registry, reboot into safe mode, then install the bootcamp ATI graphics drivers (no go), rinse, repeat, tried using the drivers that AMD's website detects of the device (no go), rinse repeat went back to the bootcamp ATI drivers just so I can still use the main screen.Has anyone else figured out this problem.

  • I cannot find my MacBook Pro serial number anywhere!?

I just recently purchased my MacBook Pro from a seller locally on Craigslist. I couldn't find the serial number on the surface of the laptop (under the battery) or through the system:
I have been searching all over Apple's website for this, but I cannot find any information on it!
Please don't tell me it's "stolen" because every product I have registered goes through fine and I get no error. Additionally, the guy I bought it from said that he had a fresh installation of the new OSX Lion and it didn't give a serial number.
I'm new to the Apple Mac products, and when I saw my cousin's old MacBook I was able to find his serial number was engraved behind his battery.
Mine doesn't show anything engraved at all, besides what model #'s the laptop contains.
    Further info:
    15"
    Model #: A1226

The 1st picture shows as such because I clicked it. I'm assuming this is what you're talking about:
I was stupid because I completely forgot when I met up with him that I texted him asking what the serial # was and he didn't reply.
Then when I met up with him, he even told me to go over the mac, test it out, and ensure myself that I was happy with it. As I looked for the serial number, I didn't see it, and that's when I asked him why it was missing.
He said the number erased because he had to do a "fresh installation" of the OSX Lion. I read in other articles that people have had to do this with the older MBP models (aka core 2 duo) and it has caused the serial number to erase from the specs.
As for the last picture I put, I just noticed that there was something there...then I thought to myself that's where the badge would be.
I've been looking all over in Google for my model and where the serial number should be, but can't seem to find it...
I guess I'll deal with it as is...
Only weird thing is, that if it were "stolen," then why have I been able to update the software from Apple without any issues?

  • Including BPEL as part of the J2EE Spec

Can someone tell me if the BPEL stuff is going to be included in a future version of the J2EE spec? The reason I ask is because there are certain application servers on the market that no longer allow you to deploy a BPEL process, now you have to wrap it in an SCA component. In my opinion this just makes the development/deployment model more confusing.
    Thanks

Agreed, adding yet-another-component-model to the picture just complicates the developer's life.
Since BPEL isn't a Java technology, and doesn't have a standard Java binding (pending completion of JSR 207, which is supposed to provide one), I don't think there will be any "BPEL stuff" in any upcoming versions of Java EE on the horizon. That's just my personal opinion; the folks who work on the Java EE spec don't hang out at this forum, since JBI isn't part of Java EE either.
I suggest you look at appservers that support JBI. That will allow you to plug in a BPEL engine, deploy your BPEL straightforwardly, and not have to deal with extra complications. It will also give you a good J2EE/BPEL interoperation story that is easily extended to other technologies for defining business logic, accessing communications protocols, transformation technologies, business rules engines, etc.
Meanwhile, you might want to ping the spec lead on JSR 207, and find out where "Process Definition for Java" (sometimes called BPEL/J) is. It sounds like a JSR you might be interested in participating in, perhaps.

  • What type of fans do you have on your iMac 20"

    I looked up the http://scienceman.com/pgs/00_imacG5.html
and found out my fans are original models like the pictures shown on the left.
I got my iMac this late September and was wondering if it's something to do with the fan noise issue.
So does anyone like to see what fans do you have?

    Jurgan and Richard,
The internals of the 20-inch iMac G5 are different than the internals of the 17-inch model. While the major parts are in the same general area, different components are used.
The first photo at apple-history.com is that of a 17-inch model. The second photo is that of a 20-inch model. The photos at the blog website are also those of a 17-inch model.
For good comparison views, look at the iMac G5 DIY instructions found here:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=300205
Specifically, look at the 17-inch upper fan instructions and the 20-inch upper fan instructions.
I hope this clears things up.

  • What is Organization structure in IS Utilities

    Dear Experts,
I'm new to IS Utilities, Can any one explain bellow concepts:
    1. What is Organization Structure in IS Utilities and How it helps?
    2. How and Where can we configure that?
    3. any Building Block for this concept?
Kindly provide me the relavent links/Docs for further understanding... many thanks in Advance
    Srujan

Org, structure defn can be different for different industries, but in general it can be defined as mentioned below.
    Org. Structure is:
You use the organizational structure to represent and process
disciplinary assignments, remuneration flows and statistical aggregations.
As asked by you 1 example for this is:
In an insurance company, the organizational structure models the
hierarchical picture of an organization (generally sales and distribution), in particular for
    the derivation of overriding commissions.
One more definition for Org. Structure which can throw more light in understanding this is:
"A hierarchy in which the organizational units in an enterprise are arranged according to tasks and functions.
The organizational structure differs from the administrative enterprise or personnel structure, whose

  • Olympus Micro 4/3 RAW Format not recognized in Photoshop

What do I need to install in Photoshop to recognized Olympus Micro 4/3 RAW Format?

It turns out that all I needed to do was download the latest version of the RAW update 6.6 for Photoshop 5.5 which includes the latest RAW formats for a number of newer released camera models from many camera companies.  My camera model was listed in the Photoshop 6.3 RAW updates - Olympus Micro 4/3 P3 camera model.  I downloaded and installed the latest digital camera RAW format update and installed it on my computer for Photoshop 5.5 and it worked perfectly allowing me to open the  Olympus Micro 4/3 P3 camera model RAW format pictures, view and correct the photos in Photoshop.
I actually found the answer in Photoshop HELP, it just took me a while till I phrased my HELP Search properly for Photoshop.
    Thanks for your prompt responses.

  • IOS4 bugs

where can i report issues with my iphone since upgrading to iOS4?
here is what I'm experiencing since the upgrade:
    phone model: 3GS 32GB
    - pictures in my "photos" app have a faulty orientation. the thumbnails look fine, but when I open some, they are sideways.
    - pictures assigned to contacts from an album on phone looks normal on thumbnail, but comes up looking like a color negative almost.
    - if i delete the photos that come up sideways, when i resync the phone, there are black boxes where the photos used to be.
    - syncing with itunes: when i sync my iphone, when it says, "syncing notes w/ ***'s iphone" at the top, a window pops up called Adding Files, and it says, "processing 20090722 225601 1 1.m4a" with a progress bar underneath it, then everything seems to freeze. itunes freezes. my cursor icon is stuck in that progress circle thing when moved over itunes. the syncing icon next to the iphone icon in the menu bar on the left is frozen. the progress bar at top in itunes is frozen.
    - and the last thing (so far), when i try to restore my phone, itunes doesn't save the order of my apps, and in fact, doesn't put any on my phone. I have to reselect every app i want on the phone, and rearrange them to the order I want them in. this is extremely time consuming and *****.
I need help with this, and I hope that Apple will issue an update to the iOS4 that will address and fix all of these issues. where can i report them so I know it's being looked into??

    It´s not so simple...
It is a Problem/Bug in the ios 4!
The formula to calculate the frequency is totally wrong...

    Okay I have done anything:
    APN reset - nothing...
    Network reset - nothing...
    Reboot the iphone - nothing....
Install it as a new iphone (DFU or normal) - nothing...
Re-install iTunes (Windows or Mac) - nothing.... (
    My Iphone 3gs - nightmare - since i use ios4....
It is definitely a problem with OS4 running on the 3GS.
We want to be able to use our phones (iphone 3gs) as a telephone!
When my iPhone losses signal quality and then tries to reaquire the signal it crashes....
    I can say only:
I even restored a backup, but this has made nothing difference.....
No problems at all with previous software!!!!!!
Please Apple, give us a downgrade possibility!!!!!!!!!!!
