Money distributing

Hi,
I am using iWork '09 through the 1 month trial version and was hesitating to buy it.
One function that I really wanted was:
For example, John and I are having a trip somewhere, and I paid everything in advance. He wants to pay me in several times and I want to keep track of his payment (don't want to miscalculate).
What I want, is a sort of "super cell" where you input a number, and it will distribute itself within a column (here, the "Paid" column). So it implies a notion of "maximum" and another function that would take the leftovers and distribute it to the other rows until the number goes to 0. Then, the next time he paid me, I would input the new amount and it would continue to distribute inside.
If you have any ideas how to do this, even if it implies inputting complex functions inside the cell, I'm all ready !
Thank you.

Hi Julian,
Here's the distribution formula from the original table, with some notes on it.
=IF(LEN(B)>0,Payments :: $B$11*B/B$11,"")
LEN(B) counts the number of characters displayed in the column B cell on the same row as the formula. IF there's one or more, then control goes to the next portion of the formula:
Payments :: $B$11*B/B$11
This part retrieves three amounts:
"Payments :: $B"  (200)    the Total Payments (from cell B11 of the table named "Payments"),
"B"                       (100)    the amount due on this row (from the column B cell on the row containing the formula),and
"B$11"                  (400)    the Total Due (from cell B11 of the table containing this formula
It calculates the fraction (100/400) of the total due applicable to that item, and multiplies the Total payment by this fraction to determine how much of the total payment will be credited to this item:  200*(100/400).
If there's not at least one character displayed in the cell in column B, IF passes control to the last part of the formula, ( "" ), which inserts a null string in the cell (as in rows 7-10).
"Is it possible to fill in the fill in the first amount due, take the leftovers, finish the 2nd amount (if there's enough leftovers) and so forth ?"
Certainly. just requires a different formula in column C.
John::C2, Fill down to row 10: =IF(LEN(B)>0,MIN(B2,Payments :: $B$11-SUM(C$1:C1)),"")

  • What is the percentage that Apple takes for every app/song sold?

What is the percentage that Apple takes for every app/song sold?
For example, a song is selling for $0.99 ($1.00), does Apple take 50%, which is $0.50 or what?
And how is the rest of the money distributed?
Thank you in advance for any information!

Music: For most major record artists Apple keeps 34¢ of a 99¢ song. The remainder is mostly kept by the record companies. The recording artist gets what little is left (about 10¢).
    Apps: Apple's commission is 30%.

You can prevent it from being printed by applying a security policy to it

  • How the JVM SHOULD be distributed (interesting)

Well I sent this document to the JCP maybe it will be better off there....
Sun needs a new JAVA marketing strategy.
Opinions expressed here are of my own, Matt Prokes, remember these are only opinions about what should or could be.

    What Java's Problem Is:
As far as I can see the only problem that java has these days is the client inconsistencys, this is due to Microsoft and there attempted dustruction of the HUGE java language, and Microsoft has succeeded wonderfully thus far, which is sad. I feel it is only due to the way Sun markets Java, not that they have not tried but they are going about it the wrong way.
Sun Feels They Are Being Oppressed:
It seems to me that Sun has a feeling of being oppressed by Microsoft, they see the company inflicting standards on the computing world that are self centered and platform specific, this is why java was created, to break that mold and it does it wonderfully but java has not gained populatiry because of marketing technique, no, it has gained popularity because it REALLY is what it is cracked up to be....A better way of doing things....
That is why sun landed the title of being one the the most innovative companys today by the magazine PC World ranking 13th place while Microsoft landed 137th (i think).
Yet with all this technology sun does not try to inflict it's standards on the PC world, well you might think what about all those court cases, for instance the most recent that suggests that Sun wants to FORCE Microsoft to install their JVM. I think stuff like this just slows Sun down, as we learned with previous cases Microsoft is just to big to fight and if you do manage to win it will be 3-4 years later. If you think about it time is money, why waste time? Trying to leach off of Microsoft is NOT the way to inflict standards, infact it is one of the worst ways because by the time you would have won microsoft would have bullied the java enviroment to it's grave (umm .net). So you may ask how do we enforce standards without the help of microsoft, the answer is more simple than you may think yet for some reason it has not been thought of by Sun. So far this is what has brought microsoft to the top.
    1.Great Software
    2.Enforced Standards, and Implementation
    3.Excellent Marketing
    4.Protected Software (Ideas)
    5.Industry Wide Support
Innovation is not on this list, Microsoft does not have a innovative bone in it's body at the moment, it just buys technology that it needs, and has flashy GUI's, and a huge amount of support in the software industry. This is why according to the magazine PC World microsoft ranks #137 in innovation while Sun sits at a satisfying ranking of #13.
What this means is that Sun just is more innovative, it has technology out there that could be used but it can't because we have clients with Version 1.3 Java software on their PC's, Either that or Propietary and NOT PLATFORM INDEPENDENT Microsoft JVM's which Microsoft will again start to distribute in 2004 on XP, this brings me to my first point, if we are going to have a platform independent language it needs to come from ONE POINT that will be implemented by all Manufactures (the W3C for instance). You may be thinking well how do you enforce the SUN JVM if microsoft does not pack it with windows? The answer is you do what most new companys do and that is goto the PC Vendors. I would like to point out that microsoft is for the most part ONLY a software company (aside from some of there PC products), but they do not build and distribute PC systems, thus microsoft does not control what can go on a PC, I would like to point out the growing Linux threat to windows, more particulary the linux based operating system (Lindows) recently lindows has aquired a deal with walmart to sell there operating system as a subsitute to windows, this worked out phenominaly and right now walmart cannot seem to keep enough of the pc's on the shelves (since they cost only about 199$). Case point linux has also grown enormously due to Home Editions of linux (Red Hat). The first point I would like to make is that Sun should be PAYING vendors to install the SUN JVM over the microsoft one, this takes care of a few of Sun's problems (Not as much industry support as microsoft, and upgrading the JVM) all this can be done for a measily 5-6 million a year and will reach about 70% of the PC sector, infact I am almost certain this is how microsoft started out.
One Of Java's Big Problems JVM Inconsistencys
Now if Sun locks 70% of the PC market that will already be a large boost for java, but the question is how to make the percentage grow to 100%... I would now like to point out the company Macromedia, macromedia products are phenominal, and have changed the way media is seen on the web, particularly the Flash product that macromedia sells, now at this moment macromedia has stated that >90% flash support exists on the web today and >70% is with the most current version of flash, as I see it infact flash is one of the most universally supported pieces of software even more so than microsoft, this is why you see flash movies on yahoo, cnet, amazon, and even MSN! So you may ask what made flash what it is today? Well as described before flash is supported and installed by PC vendors, and even if it is not you can bearly go any place on the web with out getting a message stating that you should upgrade to the most current version of flash, this is due to the wide support on the web..... Now on the other hand if I run a java applet and the applet was compiled with some new features that were not supported in version 1.3 (Swing for example) we will get an error message stating that the package cannot be found and the applet will not run...You do not get any messages to upgrade, no window prompts, nothing..which brings me to my next point the java compiler should include the code (a pre JVM 1.3 version & microsoft JVM compatiable) that will prompt you to install the most current version of Java you already see default loaders for swing, a plugin check should also be included in all programs to ensure that you have to most recent version, and if you do not then it will send you to the Sun Website, or display a update manager or something. Getting an error saying that the applet packages are not found does not help the user any it only frusterates them, you have to physically provide a remedy to the problem at hand. This should also check to see if the microsoft JVM is installed and if it is prompt to upgrade to the Sun JVM, this will pretty much distroy the use of the microsoft JVM.
This takes care of the enforcing standards part, braudens the Industry Wide Support, and protects the java enviroment, last but not least you need to promote the software, Java already does this excellently with webservices, and other things but there are more consumers than businesses and Java should also be concentrating more on the excellent 3d support that they have, the networking features of java, ect. Take OpenOffice.org for instance the product has grown emmensly since it has started and much uses Java API's, you would see much growth in Java if you provided other products like Open Office for free, for instance a Quake Like Multiplayer game in Java 3D distributed on an open source enviroment, in applet form (since applets are exclusivly a invention of Java), and then have a couple of servers set up that people can play for free on Sun's site, more networking app's for free, ect. You have to promote some of the more flashy features of Sun this way in order to see more growth and support and for free (learn from linux which is quickly becoming a HUGE threat for microsoft) if sun is making 13 billion a year I see no problem to them sporting a couple of servers with some USEFUL online apps/games/ect that sport how innovative java really is, and if they really need to they can have all the banners on stuff like the online games, take Http://www.runescape.com that sports an average of 10,000 users at any moment using the cross platform Java 3d API and they do it for free! All open source free products should be on Suns website, it shows how strong of a community Sun really is, instead of having it on some other website like www.openoffice.org that only sports Sun's name maybe a few times you might occasionally see a logo.. it would be better to maybe get open office from an address like www.openoffice.sun.com, maybe try a www.games.sun.com address or a www.apps.sun.com and then advertise the stuff that can be found at the Sun website. Sun should be proud to be open source, it is the only thing microsoft can't buy....
    Opinions Of Matt Prokes..

Sun should be proud to be open source, it is the only thing microsoft
can't buy....Thats the only line of your whole pointless post that I read.
Since when is "sun" open source. I imagine you mean java. Java isn't open source, what makes you think it is? You can get the source for it and modify it to suit ur needs as per the license but this isn't really open source.. is it?
Anyway, don't waste space with your crap here, send an e-mail to somebody at sun instead, its just a waste posting this here.

  • To Adobe Representatives: How do I get my money back?

    Dear Adobe,
I am awaiting the full and official release of LR3.2 so I can evaluate any SIGNIFICANT improvements in performance.
As can be seen by following postings on this list, many people, like myself, are having performance issues on equipment that more than meets the default minimum specification as listed by yourselves for running LR3.0. While no guarantees are given relating to the time taken for adjustments made to be actively visible on the working image, I believe it is unreasonable to expect (in many instances) several seconds to be acceptable. This significantly impairs the visual feedback process leading to over adjustments and costly rework.
Not only are the performance issues difficult to cope with, there are a string of bugs that also effect everyday operability. Personnaly I am experiencing screen flickering, occassional lock-ups of LR3.0 and a complete crash leading to a reboot.
Currently I do not believe LR3.0 to be of sufficient quality to satisfy commercial usage, indeed I am not sure it is actually suitable for hobbyist usage in it's present form.
LR2.x was an excellent product, LR3.x has the makings of being a superior product - but it falls short by a long way.
Undoubtedly, there will be a string of terms and conditions that you can call upon to defend you having to pass any money back, but ultimately you have a moral and professional position to uphold because in good faith I believe I bought the best, built on the reputation of previous versions, in reality I got a lame duck.
So back to my subject header, should LR3.2 not have SIGNIFICANT performance improvements - How do I get my money back?
    Best Regards
    Phil
PS - I have no performance issues with any other software I am running on the LR3.0 working machine.

It's not meant literally, but as an indication to the level of frustration that poor quality creates. Everybody who owns a car knows how bad it is when it fails, particularly so if it is new...

I would say they have as much control as other software developers. If they say it works on a Win V7 then it should work quite happily with the Win V7 drivers, particularly if the equipment is fairly well established and distributed across the PC main brand developers.

I did, it was called LR3.0 Beta 2 and it worked fine (minus a few of the extra features). They just changed it and now it doesn't which is why I will wait until v3.2 is officially released.

  • Stock market short selling ( what a cool way to make money )

    Hi
This was on BBC internet today...
There are also proposals for new guidelines on short selling, including requiring managers to regularly disclose information on important short positions to national authorities.
Short selling is a technique that sees investors borrow an asset, such as shares, currencies or oil contracts, from another investor and then sell that asset in the relevant market hoping the price will fall.
The aim is to buy back the asset at a lower price and return it to its owner, pocketing the difference.
On Monday, a key committee of Euro MPs backed a directive that may lead to greater supervision of the hedge fund industry.
Finance ministers must now negotiate with the European parliament over the legislation. Talks will begin on 31 May before a final vote in July.
If I remember right...in 1971 at Merrill Lynch Pierce Fenner and Smith...this is what happened:  Keep in mind there was only one "baby bond" or baby stock house...where you could have an account for less than about $10,000...in other words, all accounts were institutional, corporate etc...not individuals unless they were fairly wealthy....certainly not joe blow from next door.  Right off the bat I gotta say I can't cover "who owns the exchanges - the deregulation of banks and the effect on trading and underwriting...hedge funds and so on....it's very different today than it used to be...
But anyway, this is a day in the life of Bob The Buy-In-Clerk at Merrill in 1971...
Bob looks at a computer printout of fanned pages with a list of failed trades...
    What's a failed trade ?
You make a trade on the exchange...buying 10 shares of ATT at $10---   Being the seller.  You are a broker ( Kidder and Peabody ).  You have a customer that wanted to sell the ATT.  You do that for him.  You get a commission.  You have the shares in your vault because your customer didn't want them in his house. You sold to Merrill because THEY have a customer that wanted ATT.  Merrill will keep the shares in their vault so the customer doesn't have to keep them in his house.
Simple....BUT NOW WHAT ?  You have 5 days ( 5 business days ) to complete the trade.  5 Days for Kidder and Peabody to get a guy on a bicycle to run the 10 shares over to Merrill and hand them over through a window that looks like a bank teller's window....  ( THIS IS CALLED OVER THE COUNTER ...the window...which is where that term comes from re: trading between brokers that doesn't go through the exchanges )
If somebody goes to get the ATT from the vault at Kidder Peabody and discovers they are not there then what ?  Perhaps there was a death in the family of the customer and the shares are being broken up according to the estate settlement / last will ......like a piece of paper that says 30 shares on it needs to get broken into 3 pieces of paper that says 10 on them...This is called legal transfer...
Point being....whoops, the shares are at the bank being reprinted and the old one destroyed...( bank being the underwriter with the plates to make prints ) so you can't deliver the stuff.... After 5 days of not getting the ATT from Peabody it becomes a FAILED Trade...and Merrill is now within it's legal right to buy the shares it needs from someone else....another broker.....
If the price has gone down Merrill can buy the 10 shares and still collect ( from Peabody ) the money (difference) paid originally. Merrill keeps the difference, not their customer .......If the price has gone up Merrill still collects the difference but since you had to pay more you don't have any left over to keep for yourself....you just get the shares to your customer.....So buying and selling on failed trades ( a very common practice since it's unavoidable for legitimate reasons ) was the genesis of "selling short"......
Everyone knows you have 5 days to make a trade good.  Everyone knows that with credit from the broker and some nice deregulation..(naked short sell....you don't need to actually own the stock at all !!!  Like a miracle !!! Sell stuff you don't even have ....How cool is THAT ! ).you can make a trade (SELL ) betting the price will go down within 5 days...then buy it for less than you bought if for !   Like finding money growing on trees !!!!!
5 days was in 1971...  I have no idea how much time people have now in that market, and if it's over the counter it's not even going through the SEC dictated 5 day thing....so I'm out of luck about knowing much about what goes on nowadays....and I don't miss it a bit...
What used to be a function of making good on trades has turned into a betting system all it's own....not to make good on trades, but just to make the money tree shake....and so there's the down tick rule and up tick rule...haha....
Now the result to someone like Mr. Long Term investor like me...of short selling...and result to the Doggy Biscuit Company Inc....
I have stock in Doggy Biscuit...it's a nice company...with some cash on hand but some debt as well...it has a line of credit from a nice big bank. It's line of credit is based on it's assets ( worth )...It has a few shares of this and that on it's books ( other doggy products it has invested in )....
There is some bad news about some distribution system ( UPS goes on strike and now many companies like Doggy Biscuit can't get certain stuff to make the biscuits and has trouble delivering said biscuits...)...and some people who hear about it figure they will sell Doggy Biscuit short...yipee...almost guaranteed money off the money tree !!!!  Share prices go down....Doggy Biscuit can't understand why it's going down so fast and so far !!!  This isn't a deal breaker...the strike will end, the dogs will get the biscuits....it's just a little burp in the quarter....but Doggy Biscuit, thanks to all the many short sellers ( yippeeee  ....free money !!!! ) Doggy Biscuit tanks out losing 50% of it's worth in a couple days.  It's line of credit shrinks.  It gets called ( margin call ) on some debt and has to sell it's stock in the other doggy products at a loss....and Doggy Biscuit is on the ropes.  Mr. Long Term investor like me now has Doggy Biscuit stock worth about one half what I bought it for....I have lost tons of money on the share price....
That is the wonderful world of short selling.... lets do more of it !!!!!!!!!!

More cool info about the marketplace:
    http://www.investopedia.com/university/futures/default.asp
Found the above link tutorial on futures market...very good tutorial...
below is a segment of one section that applies more or less to my amazement over the proposed idea of a futures market in motion pictures...
After you read it , think of the possibilities of "influencing" the marketing and success / failure of a particular movie ( with movie stars...a rich source of material for publication ---news items etc )....  and or the overall health of a studio ( distributer - independent productions etc )  It boggles the mind...The effect of piracy in certain countries etc...
How far does the futures market for the price of grain, for example ( leading to the spot market and actual delivery of commodity ) skew off into the realm  of whacky speculation when considering world wide distribution of a movie making a certain profit or not....   and who in the world could possibly oversee that kind of derrivative or settle disputes ?
    Rod
    portion of tutorial below
    Speculators
Other market participants, however, do not aim to minimize risk but rather to benefit from the inherently risky nature of the futures market. These are the speculators, and they aim to profit from the very price change that hedgers are protecting themselves against. Hedgers want to minimize their risk no matter what they're investing in, while speculators want to increase their risk and therefore maximize their profits.
In the futures market, a speculator buying a contract low in order to sell high in the future would most likely be buying that contract from a hedger selling a contract low in anticipation of declining prices in the future.
Unlike the hedger, the speculator does not actually seek to own the commodity in question. Rather, he or she will enter the market seeking profits by offsetting rising and declining prices through the buying and selling of contracts.
    Trader
    Short
    Long
    The Hedger
Secure a price now to protect against future declining prices
Secure a price now to protect against future rising prices
    The Speculator
Secure a price now in anticipation of declining prices
Secure a price now in anticipation of rising prices
In a fast-paced market into which information is continuously being fed, speculators and hedgers bounce off of - and benefit from - each other. The closer it gets to the time of the contract's expiration, the more solid the information entering the market will be regarding the commodity in question. Thus, all can expect a more accurate reflection of supply and demand and the corresponding price.

  • Is it legal to build a website template with dreamweaver and re distribute it?

I see this a lot in the world wide web and thought I would look into the legalities of this as I cannot seem to find any documentation on Adobe's website regarding the licensing of work created using Dreamweaver and redistributing it to others.  Can anyone answer this credibly or point me to the proper jargon?

There are a couple of catches of course:
    1) If you are using Education version or a Trial then you can't can't make money from it.
    2) If you are using other people JS plugins/ HTML boilers etc then you must acquire permission before distributing them- this includes menus, sliders, responsive grid tools like mixit up isotope etc.
    3) Media and Graphics included with a theme needs to be checked against the original authors.

  • SQL 2005 Distributed Transactions from WCF

    Hello,
I've been redirected here from the Transaction Programming forum becuase I have e peculiar issue with SQL 2005 running INSERT stored procs from multiple WCF services all withing a TransactionScope.
    The original post is http://forums.microsoft.com/MSDN/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=2720665&SiteID=1&mode=1
The story goes, I have SRVC A with starts a TransactionScope which in turn calls SRVC B & C in sequence based on processing rules.
SRVC A is a Sequential Workflow which Starts and Completes the TransactionScope
SRVC B Creates a new Customer into the database
SRVC C Creates new Accounts for that Customer and Initialises the accounts with funds
The DB Tables underneath are Customer, Account and AccountLog
    DDL
    Code Block
    CREATE TABLE [Member].[Customers](
    [CustomerId] [int]
    IDENTITY(1,1) NOT NULL,
    [Name] [varchar](32) NOT NULL,
    [CreatedUtc] [datetime] NOT NULL ,
    CONSTRAINT [PK_Customer] PRIMARY KEY CLUSTERED
    [CustomerId]
    ASC
    CREATE TABLE [Bank].[Accounts](
    [AccountId] [int]
    IDENTITY(1,1) NOT NULL,
    [CustomerId] [int] NOT NULL,
    [CurrentBalance] [money] NOT NULL,
    [LastUpdateDate] [datetime] NULL,
    [CreatedDate] [datetime] NOT NULL,
    [timestamp] [timestamp] NOT NULL,
    CONSTRAINT [PK_Bank_Account] PRIMARY KEY CLUSTERED
    [AccountId]
    ASC
    ) ON [PRIMARY]
    GO
ALTER TABLE [Bank].[Accounts] WITH CHECK ADD CONSTRAINT [FK_Account_Customer] FOREIGN KEY([CustomerId])
    REFERENCES [Member].[Customers] ([CustomerId])
    CREATE TABLE [Bank].[AccountLog](
    [AccountLogId] [int]
    IDENTITY(1,1) NOT NULL,
    [AccountId] [int] NOT NULL,
    [Amount] [money] NOT NULL,
    [UtcDate] [datetime] NOT NULL,
    CONSTRAINT [PK_Bank_AccountLog] PRIMARY KEY CLUSTERED
    [AccountLogId]
    ASC
    ) ON [PRIMARY]
    GO
ALTER TABLE [Bank].[AccountLog] WITH CHECK ADD CONSTRAINT [FK_AccountLog_Account] FOREIGN KEY([AccountId])
    REFERENCES [Bank].[Accounts] ([AccountId])
NB. I've removed most fields not essential for this example.
So from SRVC A I invoke SRVC B and the Customer is created, however when I get to SRVC C and the accounts are to be created I get a lock.  Only when the Transaction aborts due to timeout, do I see in SQL Profiler that the call to the SP that created the Account is executed but eventually rolls back as it is part of the distributed transaction.
Now, If I set the Isolation level in the TransactionScope to ReadUncommitted (urgh) the problem remains.  When I set the IsolationLevel to Read Uncommitted in the SP that creates the account the problem remains but when I remove the FK constraint the problem disappers.  The other curious thing is that with the Customer -> Account FK removed and when SRVC C calls to insert funds into the AccountLog which also updates an aggregated total in the Account from within the same transaction scope and with Account -> AccountLog FK constraints in place there is no locking even with Isolation Serializable.
I'm quite at a loss as to what could be causing these issues.  If anyone has any suggestions I would greatly appreciate any help.
    Thanks
    Andy

  • Is it legal for me to create a music remake of an apple loop and make money off it.

Me and my brother made a rock version of one of the apple loops and we were wondering if it was legal to make money off of it by selling it somehow sometime in the future.

That is one of the exceptions that restrict the use of the loops - better have your lawyer look at this:
Using royalty-free loops in GarageBand with commercial workLearn about the usage of royalty-free loops in GarageBand on commercial songs, multimedia presentations, videos, and animations.
    It says:
The GarageBand software license agreement says:
"GarageBand Software. You may use the Apple and third party audio loop content (Audio Content), contained in or otherwise included with the Apple Software, on a royalty-free basis, to create your own original music compositions or audio projects. You may broadcast and/or distribute your own music compositions or audio projects that were created using the Audio Content, however, individual audio loops may not be commercially or otherwise distributed on a standalone basis, nor may they be repackaged in whole or in part as audio samples, sound effects or music beds."
So don't worry, you can make commercial music with GarageBand, you just can't distribute the loops as loops.
The problematic part is the last sentence:
you just can't distribute the loops as loops.

  • Need a 4 point increase, I have $2K to pay down cards. How should I distribute it?

I found a lender I liked and 4 of my friends reccomended him to me. So I applied for a Pre approval for a VA loan yesterday. I knew I had a 616 mid score going into it as I pulled from here but he seemed confident that his scores would be different. He pulled the credit and got the same scores I had gotten from here. He ran all my stuff though AU and said everything looked good from a DTI side for the ammount I want. The only problem is the AU wanted my mid score to be a 620. I was planning on this since I already knew my score and I spoke with him about pulling 2K of my 6K reserve to pay down cards. I had actually managed to not send him my account statement for the account this money was in on accident so he had no idea I had it.  My scores are EQ616, EX616, TU658, I need to get that mid score up to a 620. Hopefully with room to spare My CC balances areNFCU   15K   limit   / 14611 balance   97%chase   1500 limit   /    1119 balance   75%BOA      2500 limit   /    2352 balance   94%Cap1    3600 limit   /    3340 balance   92%Mil star 2740 limit   /    1327 balance   48%WF          700 limit   /           0 balance   52% currently reporting bal of $367, hasnt reported since paying it off.NFCU    10K limit   /           0 balance    This one is a Checking line of credit for overdraft so I cant transfer to it to drop the utilizaion on my other cards.  Total      36040 limit  /  22749 Balance 63% utilization   I was thinking of doing this$750 on boa bringing it down to 64%$750 on Cap bringin it down to 71% $500 on chase bringin it down to 41% Or shoudl I do $1000 on Cap1 bringing it down to 65% and only $250 on Chase bringing it down to 60% Would it be more benneficial to distribute it accoss multiple accounts or just paying it all on one? I dont need help with the DTI so Im not worried about dropping the payment. Just need to get my score bummped up. The CS simulator on here says paying down 2K should get me a 20pt bump acrross all three scores but hat is the fico 8 score not my mortgage scores.  Thanks for any help or input everyone!

I am active duty military and received orders last week to move. Looking at rental properties in the area I would pay around $3-400 more a month for rent vs a mortgage payment on homes adequate for my family. Mortgage payments for homes in the price range I am looking at would be about $1-200 cheaper a month than my current rent payment I have been paying for the last few years.  Deposits, and pet fees on the rental would come up to what I could potentially be paying in closing costs assuming we are unsuccessful in having the seller fully or partially cover them.  I already have all the standard appliances if I should need them for the purchased home. I have been living in a home the size of what I am looking to purchase so utilities and stuff like that I am accustomed to paying. The tax benefits will help too.  I completely agree that I/we are not in a perfect situation to purchase at the moment but from my point of view it seems like a good time to do it. Our DTI is adequate and our residual income way higher than what is required by the VA. My wife does not have any debt other than her car payment and will be keeping her job up there. I just have the cards listed plus a car payment.  Interest rates are NFCU CC is 10% Cap1 is 4% Chase 20% BOA 15% Miltiary star 9% I am not factoring it into my decisions of rent vs buy but I will be reciving a $8-9K bonus in the next few months that would go directly to CC debt. Just bad timing with the suprise move.   My logic may be way off here and if you have any insight I am not seeing or factoring in please let me know.  Sounds like a rational decision; just as Gmood suggests there are unexpected expenses with home ownership and a majority of homes need some work as soon as you move in in many areas.  Houses can take a month or two to close on as well assuming you find one both you and your wife can agree on quickly.  Beyond that I can't fault your thought process at all personally. Pay down the nearly max cards and see where you wind up FICO score wise, I don't think 4 points is much of a problem with that much revolving utilization but address the accounts which are hurting you the most.  Not entirely sure if the line is at 80 or 90% for that FICO penalty as I never saw a good number below 93%. $400 to BOFA$500 to Cap One You don't have enough to be "sure" on the NFCU card nor enough to take one of the other tradelines to zero, me personally I'd probably just dump it to the highest APR card which sounds like your Chase account, but if you pay it towards the NFCU account if you find another ~$200ish you might get a boost there for getting under 90%, hard to say as I never saw good data in the 80-90% range on it unfortunately but a lot of people have quoted 80% over time so may be some truth to it back from the old forum days.  Lacking better data just went with that line in the Cap 1 and BOFA payment optimization. Just for personal reference on a mortage score I was tracking a couple years ago I took a card and maxxed it out, from 1 to 13% aggregate, but 1 to 99.87% individual tradeline revolving and went from 660 to 646 and while I didn't get a control point of 13% without a maxxed out card nor a better point with a max card and virtually no aggregate (maybe coming next month from a "lucky" expense hah), everyone else that has tested things over time that I've seen agrees that there's a non-trivial penalty for a card carrying a balance near it's limit.  Also repeated the experiment identically at 27% aggregate and single maxxed tradeline, same score movement -14 points on Beacon 5.0 which is part of the mortgage trifecta. Also does your wife have any high limit clean tradeline cards that you could be added to as an AU?

  • Distribute list on DMVPN spoke

    Hi,
I would need to apply a distribute list on a DMVPN spoke and not sure if that DL needs to be applied at the tunnel interface or the physical interface where the tunnel is sourced. Please let me know if you have any thoughts.
This is how the configuration looks at other branches that do not have DMVPN configured:
    access-list 1 deny   0.0.0.0
    access-list 1 permit any
    access-list 2 permit 0.0.0.0
    access-list 2 deny   any
    router eigrp 1
    distribute-list 2 in FastEthernet0/0
    distribute-list 1 out FastEthernet0/0
    Thanks,

If you want to control your routing between the spoke and the hub, you have to apply it for the tunnel-interface. Or more general: With the interface that is enabled for the routing-protocol.
And you should look at the prefix-lists instead of distribute-lists. They are much more flexible once you get used to them.

  • Distributing app while in 'hold for developer release'?

I believe (correct me if I'm wrong) that when a new app reaches 'hold for developer release' status, you have access to your promo codes even though the app is not technically available for sale.
My question is:  if your app is free, is there a direct link you can use to distribute the app to a set of users before you mark it 'ready for sale', or are you strictly limited to the promo codes.  I realize test flight is an option for distribution as well but I'm trying to determine what other options might be available before the app is 'ready for sale'.
    Thanks for your help!

Your iTunes Connect account is tied to one bank account that receives all the proceeds. What you do with the money after that is your own problem. You also have to call Apple to get that account changed. I haven't been paid yet, but I'm guessing they deposit in one lump sum for all apps you've published, which could be a problem if you have several apps with different contributors; however, the iTunes financial reports should give you enough information so that you can split it.
If you don't want to open your personal account's statements up to examination by your partners, I'd suggest you open a new account for your iPhone apps and give that to iTunes. That way you can include bank statements and iTunes reports with your checks so they can see that you're not cheating them.

  • How can i transfer money from one itunes account to another

any way to use my husbands itune money to purchase an app for my phone with my account

If you sync your phone to a computer that his account is authorised on then you could try buying it on his account and sync it to your phone - but it will be tied to his account, so only his account will be able to download any future updates to it.

  • DNS set up when not distributing dns

Ok it's not clear but let me try, I am in a place where they give me an ip address and my domain names come from godaddy and are directed from there. sorry I'm french. Here's my question,
Do I need to setup DNS on leopard server if I want to use all the services, open dir, qtss , podcast producer ect. or since I don't distribute dns, can I not use the dns service.
I'm not sure I expressed my self properly so ask questions if you need to know more.

If you want to run your own directory service for your clients then you SHOULD run your own DNS server. This is essential if you're setting up your server in a private-class network (e.g. 10.1.x.x or 192.168.x.x) since GoDaddy are not going to be able to resolve your internal hostname(s).
The fact that no external users will ever query your server for DNS lookups doesn't matter - your own machine will and that's what counts.
