Monitoring KM Documents

Hi all,
Are there any KM Reports which provides us details like
1. users who have accessed a particular folder and file ,
2. The time of access
3. No of access
4. Last Modified etc.,
Or should we develop custom application for the same.. ? Can someone suggest me on related APIs to use .?
Regards
Bharathwaj

Item 4 is available under Reports/Resource Statistics.
I am also interested in Item 1-3 and created this Topic:
Tracking User Activity with Standard Web Logs and Tools Like WebTrends
I'm guessing this is a common request and something SAP will pursue as a reporting enhancement.  Does anyone have any insight on this?

  • How to get frame document in frameset

    Hi, All
I have a application that need to resolve a very old website that write by frameset/frame. While I use webView.getEngine(), I just get the top window.
But what's I need is one of frame document(for example below frame1), I need to monitor one of the frame change event(LoaderWorker, document change event), this frame will dynamically change when user click refresh button. But base on currently API, seems I just get top WebEngine and can just monitor top document load and document change event.
How can I monitor frame event.
    <frameset>
    <frame name="frame1" src="sample1.html"></frame>
    <frame name="frame2" src="sample2.html"></frame>
    </frameset>

You could either make an executescript call on your main document to add a javascript based event handler listening to changes to the frame contents or add the same event handler via java by manipulating the document returned from webEngine.getDocument(). I can't help with a detailed solution for now, but at least you have a direction.

  • Business process monitoring - application monitor

    Hi guys
Perhaps you can assist.  I have setup a application monitor on SD Invoices AR , sales invoices not posted to FI . It is setup for one sales org and one distribution channel.  It picks up 3 documents.  The monitor runs at night .  When I however pull the detailed report for the 3 billing docs, it takes about half an hour to run ? I have tried filling in more information eg billing type etc but there is no difference.
My other monitor - sales documents, orders GI date in past not delivered works fine, with quick response on the detail reported for exactly the same sales org and distribution channel . (176 documents ) . 1 minute.
What could be the reason for my invoices AR monitor taking so long to give me the detailed info ?
    Thanks in advance

    Hello,
you cannot compare the performance of different key figures with each other as every key figure consists of one or more SQL statements of different complexity.
The Sales Orders with GI date in the past are first selected via index table VEPVG which is usually very quick and later on the big application tables are selected like VBUK. As long as the backlog is moderate the key figure is very quick.
For the invoices not trasferred to FI the main select is on table VBRK. With your retail business you have problem millions of entries in this table. The quesion is if an index on VBRK exists in your system that could support a fast query. And then you have to fill selection criteria according to the index needs.
If you don't come to a conclusion there, please open an OSS ticket on component SV-SMG-MON-BPM and we will see if we can provide an SAP note improving the performance for this key figure according to your specific needs.

  • What to monitor

we are moving monitoring software vendor and want to make sure we are covering what we need to monitor.
I've checked ML and these forums but not found a list to work with. We have something a consultant gave us a while back but would like to double check it.
Do oracle put out a basic what to monitor type document?
    Any tips and/or links appreciated
    MN

Well, there's a whole lot that will need to monitor. But are you asking about Proactive Monitoring or Reactive Monitoring?
For Proactive & Real Time Monitoring the Enterprise Manager is the BEST you can get.

  • Setting up WPC usage monitoring on the Portal

    Hello Everyone,
I have been looking for a way to report on the number of portal users accessing different areas of the portal, such as KM documents, but in particular pages and objects that have been created in Web Page Composer (WPC). I know that I can monitor KM documents and have setup reporting for this using the following blog entry.
/people/michael.kronfeld/blog/2007/12/21/recording-access-to-documents-in-km - thank you Michael Kronfeld.
Unfortunately, the report generated from the above setup, outputs all logged entries using a GUID rather than the KM document name, example: u201Cpolicy.docu201D.
Iu2019m assuming that reporting on WPC activity, like the KM reporting may use the GUID method of identification, rather than the WPC object user readable name, example: u201CCareers Pageu201D.
Following the above description, does anyone know of a way to setup monitoring/logging for WPC pages/objects (article, paragraph, etc) on the portal using a method that identifies objects in a way where user readable names for WPC objects are used?
    Thank you.

    Kiran,
I have kind of put this one on the back burner as I have not had much luck thus far. I have however found a third party software called "Click Stream" by Sweetlets, and it looks promising.

Hope this helps. I will update when and if I find out more.

1.Carried out data load on a daily, weekly and monthly basis using Process chains from both SAP Source systems as well as Non-SAP Source systems such as Informatica.
2.Resolving Data load error such as Invalid characters, Time period conversion, Currency conversion, Duplicate records, etc
3.Ensuring the availability of the updated data in the datatarget on time.
4.Spooling out data through Infospoke from SAP BW to systems like Trillium, Ariba (Reporting Tool)
    Ticket Resolution:
1.Process chain modification: Working on “Optimizing Process chain” by creating new process chain considering the load dependencies.
2.Reloading of R/3 data from different clusters – Reconciliation issues
    3.Enhancements as per Business requirement.
    Additional responsibilities:
•Preparing design documents from the Business Requirement docs and identified the relevant data targets for satisfying the customer requirements.

    Diagnosis
The system could not find any entries that are relevant to costing.
    System Response
The system did not cost the object.
    Procedure
Check whether the following objects should be flagged as relevant to costing:
    Items in the BOM
    Display BOM
    Operations in the routing
    Control key in the routing
    1. Look at the message log.
    2. Check whether a quantity was specified in the confirmation.

    hi,
iam facing the problem while creating the
    stnadard cost estimate ck11n
the system prompts the following message
    confirmation
    Logistics - General (LO)
Information from the vendor to the recipient about the status of the purchase order.
The term confirmation covers different types of information from the vendor to the customer, such as order, loading or transportation confirmation and the shipping notification.
If materials planning takes place without a confirmation, planning can only be based on the delivery dates and quantities in the purchase order. In contrast, confirmations make it possible for the customer to plan the materials more precisely because between the purchase order and planned delivery date, more reliable information has become available.
    Logistics - General (LO)
Communication sent by a vendor to a customer regarding the status of a purchase order.
The term "confirmation" (short for "vendor confirmation") is an umbrella term for various types of information provided by a vendor to a customer, including order acknowledgments, loading or transport confirmations and shipping notifications.
If the customer's materials planning and inventory control system does not work with confirmations, it can only refer to the delivery dates and quantities set out in the purchase order. The use of confirmations, on the other hand, makes the materials planning and inventory control process more precise, since between the PO date and the planned delivery date the customer receives increasingly reliable information about the pending arrival of ordered goods.
    Treasury Management (TR-TM)
After concluding a financial transaction, a confirmation of the related contract data is sent to the relevant business partner. Confirmations can be printed or sent electronically directly from the R/3 System. Confirmation forms are defined via the correspondence type.
    Logistics - General (LO)
Part of order monitoring, this documents the processing status of operations or sub-operations. In the SAP System, a distinction is made between partial and final confirmations.
A final confirmation is used to determine
at which work center the operation should be carried out
who has carried out the operation
the quantities of yield and scrap quantities that have been produced
the size of the standard values required for the actual operation
    Materials Management (MM)
Communication from a vendor to a customer providing information on the status of a purchase order.
As used in this sense, the term "confirmation" can cover a number of different documents, such as order acknowledgment, loading confirmation, or shipping notification. Also termed "order acceptance/fulfillment confirmation".
If the materials planning and control system operates without such confirmations, it can only work on the basis of the delivery dates and quantities in the purchase order. Confirmations, on the other hand, enable the customer to plan more exactly. In the period between the issue of the PO and the planned delivery date he is provided with more up-to-date and increasingly reliable information on the expected delivery.
    Project System (PS)
A confirmation is a part of network control. It documents the state of processing for network activities and activity elements. There are two types of confirmations in the R/3 System: partial and final confirmations.
A confirmation is used to record:
the work center where the activity was carried out
the person who carried out the activity
the yield and scrap produced in an activity
the actual values for the standard times
    Intellectual Property Management (CRM-IM-IPM)
A report made by the licensee and defined in the rights sale contract on sales volumes or other quantities (such as audience figures for a film) during a period.
    Receiving (ECO-BBP-REC)
An electronic document that combines the functions of goods receipts and service entry sheets. By creating a confirmation:
Vendors can confirm that they have fulfilled their orders
Employees can confirm the goods and services they ordered via their shopping baskets
Central goods recipients can confirm the goods and services ordered by employees for whom they are responsibleconfirmation

  • How to track changes to Financial Reports

I am being asked by our auditors to propose a process where we monitor and document changes to our Hyperion Financial Reports used for P&Ls, Balance Sheets, etc. Is there a history kept anywhere of the modified date for reports? I know that the client gives the last modified date, but I need see if there is a way to systematically capture all of the modified dates. So far in looking at the different logs, I don't see anything.
    Thanks,
    Bill

    Bill,
If this is 11.1.x ,then you could enable TRACE:32 for FR in logging.xml, this will record most of the activities done for FR.
    Thx

  • Error handling in XI

    Hi All,
I am implementing several scenarios in XI. They are mainly dealing with RFC, JDBC adapter, file.
The main communication is between SAP R/3 and Oracle via XI, both to and fro.
Pls tell me what are the standard error handling mechanisms in XI.
The main focus areas are as follows:
    1. If the sender XML format in XI has error, how to inform the sender system.
    2. If receiver Oracle system finds some error in the received msg, how to inform the sender system.
This is urgent, pls help asap.

    Hi Neetu,
You can use Alerts for the same..... Please go through the information below to know more...
For alerts take a look at this blog,
    /people/michal.krawczyk2/blog/2005/09/09/xi-alerts--step-by-step
    For CCMS monitoring, this document,
    https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/42fb24ff-0a01-0010-d48d-ed27a70205a8
From SP14 onwards, activation of end to end monitoring is not needed for Alerting. Refer to this note 870232 for this info.
If you are blow SP14, then also check this blog,
    /people/michal.krawczyk2/blog/2005/09/09/xi-alerts--troubleshooting-guide
To send an EMAIL, assign an EMAIL ID to the corresponding user in the transaction SU01 and then set up SCOT and you can send emails when the ALERT is triggered.
Once you have configure Alerts, you will get the Alerts into ALERT INBOX in RWB of the user. To also get the email, the following needs to be done,
    1. In SU01 -- Assign the Email ID for the Recipient of the ALERT.
    2. In , RWB>ALERT INBOX> PERSONALIZATION--> Time Independent Delivery and Email are selected.
    3. Finally, SCOT needs to be set up to send Emails. Check this for the same. You can ask your BASIS team to do this step.

  • Tunnelling in IDOC To IDOC and payload size

    Hi XI Experts,
We runned in a PI 7.0 SP13 an IDOC To IDOc scenario with non conversion XML (Tunnelling with IDOC/XML_CONVERSION parameter set). Refer to Michal Krawczyk blog : /people/michal.krawczyk2/blog/2005/11/21/xi-idoc-to-idoc-tunneling--how-fast-and-easy-can-you-get
All seems good : payload in message monitoring is flagged as 'application/x-sap.idoc.bin' et scenario works fine.
But we have 2 questions :
Q1 : in monitoring, payload document is displaied in right bottom window like XML representation....like an XML-converted document.
Q2 : value parameter 'SIZE_PAYLOAD' in message with non conversion XML is greater than....in conversion XML ?!?....
    Thanks for yours responses.
    Etienne

    Hi
Please find here with you the clarification,
*Q1 : in monitoring, payload document is displaied in right bottom window like XML representation....like an XML-converted document.
the value is set to XML_CONVERSION parameter to value 2
    a) 0 - Every IDoc is saved as a table; no IDoc-XML conversion
    b) 1 - Every IDoc is converted to IDoc-XML
    c) 2 - An IDoc is converted to IDoc-XML if requested by the service
Here the IDOC is internally be treated as IDOC-XML as you would be using the Business systems with SAP. And it depends upon the services.
Q2 : value parameter 'SIZE_PAYLOAD' in message with non conversion XML is greater than....in conversion XML ?!?....
The SIZE_PAYLOAD will be always more with non-conversion XML includes the header details also..(I am not sure with it).
Its better that you copy the XML Payload and save on local PC. Then check with its size.
    thanks

  • Shutdown hooker, how does it work?

    hello All:
I am writting a Java service that might crash for unknown reasons. As a failover mechanism, i was thinking to use shutdown hook to do house cleaning work such as closing db connection, notifying the client of this service, etc.
However, people point it out that #1, inside shutdown hook it is ok to close db connection, but notifying client won't work; #2, shutdown hook is not reliable and likely not be called in the first place when the system crashes. Like that in the Linux env, it can be killed by "kill" or "kill -9", the impact on the service can be different.
Anyone can make a comment about the above statements? And what's the best options in a crashing sceanario?
    Thanks,

Is there anything else you can use to moniter external conditions -- a backup battery? Some UPSes can inform the host that is has lost power and should shut down (but that is not a Java problem but a general OS/server setup issue). But you can't guard against everything (kill -9, running on a VM and someone killing your VM in that). The best you can do is attempt to make sure that you leave the world in as sane state as possible (for example good use of transactions) and make sure your monitoring solution works.Best example of that I ever encountered was a computer with 2 independent power supplies hooked up to an extension cable with a splitter, going into a single UPS and a single wall outlet.
Someone tripped over the cable, pulling it out of the UPS outlet, thus killing the power to the machine past the point where the UPS is set to guard against power failure, and due to the idiotic arrangement which compromised the very reason (failsafe) there were 2 power supplies causing the machine to turn off.
No amount of software can guard against such stupidity, yet we were told to modify the software so that it would continue to run in case of power failure (not joking, really happened).
After much debate we modified it to constantly monitor and document its own state so it could restart where it left off before a power failure.

    Hi Sathish,
As per my understanding parent que was not for any schedule program.
Just check in SAP Monitor and WT  document posted on a day and from that sort with document type GR. If needed you can create variant and pool data as required.
More can be done if we create new node for extracting such document. Check enhancement in EWM monitor development document in market place.

  • URGENT HELP PLS Updating latest software 2 iPod causes it2constantly reset

Connected my 5th Generation ipod to iTunes (latest version 7.5(19)) and was told new software available for ipod. Foolishly I said Yes. Ever since then been constantly resetting itself both when connected by USB and when not. Did the 5Rs but it is resetting anyway. Anyone know a fix for this please? Worried it's going to flatten battery. Shall I just leave connected to computer and let it reset ad infinitum till I can get to an Apple store?

Mine stopped resetting itself overnight. When I checked the battery icon it showed about 1/3 used. Because I was having trouble ejecting the iPod from iTunes I took it to a Apple Recognised dealer. He looked at laptop and saw I was running ClamXav a virus protector. Although I told it only to monitor my documents folder it appeared that it might be doing more than that. When told to stop I was able to eject iPod normally.
He did mention that a lot of the recent updates were due to introduction of Leopard and it was still having teething problems.
