Monitoring messages for BPM

How do we monitor the messages processed through BPM?
when do we use SXMB_MONI and SXMB_MONI_BPE exactly? which of these used for BPM processes?

Hi,
If you don't SAP Service Market place user Id , then refer this document-
https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/e7bc3a5a-0501-0010-1095-eb47159e169c
If you want to monitor details of the BPM with technical details or workflow log or messages inside the BPM then either you can use SXMB_MONI_BPE or you can go from SXMB_MONI->PE->Technical Details

  • To Monitor inbound and outbound messages for ECC 6.0 business system

    Hi Guys,
I am working on ABAP proxy. I want to monitor the flow of Inbound and Outbound messages for my Business system (ECC 6.0).
XI server is on a different system.
I understand that SXMB_MONI is used for tracking XML messages. What kind of tracking can we do by this transaction in our Business system and the XI system?
And how do I know whether the outbound XML message sent is lying in the Sending Business system or in the XI system?
When I am testing my interface, there is a fault message generated. How do I know whether the fault message is being sent to XI?
    Thanks,
    James.

    James,
Go to SXMB_MONI in your sending system.
Here you will find a message ID fro your Message.
Go to XI, --> SXMB_MONI -->Monitor For Processed XML messages --> Advanced Selection Crieteria and use the Message ID here to see if the Message has hit XI or not.
Likeiwse it can be traced in the target system as well.
The basic point,  The messages will have same Message Id on your R3 and on XI.

  • Return message for timeout in BPM

    Hey
I have a synchronous scenario using BPM. My question is: If the web service I'm calling is down and I receive a timeout, can I then create a return message from BPM to the sender system that can take attributes from the original message that did not reach it's target? I have read that I can do this in case of an error, but I read someone saying this is not possible when we have a timeout...
    Thanks!

    Hi Ole,
You can implement a Dedadline branch in your BPM that catches your time out.

  • Reg: Message and BPM

    Hi
I'm having a scenario where i use a JDBC adapter to extract data from a DB. As a result of the query say, 10 rows are returned as message to XI server. I have a transformation (BPM) set and the receiver(target system) is a file. When i open the file to see its contents i can see only the first record been transfered. The mapping part used for the transformation node is having IF condition. But all the fetched records satisfies the conditions in the mapping.
Pls let me know the corrective step.
    reg: Prabhu

    Hi,
1)Check the input XML i.e all 10 records are coming into XI . This you can check in SXMB_MONI
    2) Then you can test the mapping in the integration Reposiotry .. So now you can get if any mapping problem. For this , check is the occurence of target strcuture is 1..n or 0.n
    /people/michal.krawczyk2/blog/2005/09/16/xi-how-to-test-your-mapping-in-real-life-scenarios
    3) If mapping is correct , then check the RWB->Message Monitoring->Message Display Tool and check the payload.
    4) If this is correct, then check the File COntent Conversion of the Receiver File Adapter.
    Hope this helps,
    Regards,

  • When we will go for BPM

    Hi,
I want to know when exactly we go for bpm and how to work simple bpm scenario.

    Hi Sreenu,
BPM is used for Stateful communications, suppose u have to delay message processing,or wait for other messages to arrive and then semd them all together,in that case use BPM.
We will use BPM when ever we want to do the following:
1.Controling or Monitoring of messages in XI
    2. Collect or Merge the messages in XI
    3. Split the messages in XI
    4. Multicast a Message
    5. Need to send an Alert
    6. Transformation
With its BPM capability, SAP NetWeaver:
    • Exploits business-process efficiency by giving your business
users the ability to directly model, manage, monitor, and
    analyze business processes
    • Enables continuous process improvement and the dynamic
    modification of business processes
    • Extends the value of your company’s core business investment
and maximizes the return on its strategic assets by providing
the ability to change process rules without additional IT
    investment
    • Provides greater visibility into critical business operations for
better decision making by delivering the right information at
    the right time
    • Allows the integration of people, applications, and internal
    and external resources
    Process step types:
    Message relevant:
Receive: We use it to receive a message. By receiving a message we are sending the data into process. We can use it to start a process. We can use it for activating or using correlations.
Send: We use it to send either an asynchronous or synchronous message or an acknowledgement.
Receiver Determination: We use it to get a list of receivers for sub sequent send step. It calls the receiver determination that we configured in the integration directory and returns receivers list.
Transformation: We use it to change a message inside the process. E.g. bundling multiple messages into 1 or splits a message into multiple.
Using this we can create N:1 or 1:N or 1:1 transformations. In general scenario 1:N transformation is possible.
    Process flow control Relevant:
Container: We use it to set a value for target container element at runtime. Target container element and assigned value must have same value.
Control: We use it to terminate the current process and to trigger an exception and to trigger an alert.
While Loop: To repeat the execution of steps within the loop.
Fork: We use it when you want to continue a process in branches that are independent of each other. E.g. to communicate with two systems that are independent to each other
Block: We use it to combine steps that you want to execute one after the other and which are to access the local data.
Empty: It has no influence on the process flow. We use it as a place holder for a step that has not yet been defined, and as a step with no functions for test purposes.
Wait: We use it to incorporate a delay in the process.
Switch: We use it to define different processing branches for a process
    T.Codes for B.P.M:
    SXMB_MONI_BPE
    SXWF_XI_SW11
For Example a Small Explanation reg BPM for this Req we used BPM
A background program should be scheduled to run every 10 minutes to analyse any material records that have been created or changed or deleted that have occurred to the material master records in the last minute.
There are two Message Mappings involved in the whole scenario. First mapping is N:1 Mapping which will be used in BPM and second Mapping is 1:1 Mapping:
    1. First Message Mapping  N: 1 u2013 Mapping between IDoc (occurrence u2013 0...unbounded in u201CMessagesu201D tab) to IDoc with changed occurrence of its top node (IDOC) as 0...unbounded. This message mapping will be used in BPM u2013 transformation step.
Description: This BPM collects all Idocs for 10 minutes which are of Message Type (ZMATMAS05) according to Receiver Partner Number (Field u2013 RCVPRN) and calls N: 1 mapping to bundle the collected Idocs in a One External Definition for that IDOC.
    Use
You use a wait step ( ) to incorporate a delay in a process. Usually, you use a delay to define when the next step in the process is to start. You can define a delay as either a point in time or a period of time.
At runtime, the step waits until the specified point in time is reached or the specified period of time has passed. The system then continues the process by proceeding with the next step.

  • Emulate Fault message in BPM

    Hello
I have read all related topics
    fault message in BPM process
Alert monitoring and fault message types
Using Fault Message Type in BPM
    but no answer..
I have synch BPM that send synch request to RFC and a mapping step. Then I have to catch exception (of send step or mapping) and send fault message in exception handler.
I haven't a proxy. I want to create fault message manually and send it. Is it possible? I cannot create an interface of fault message type.

    Hi Sergey,
As far as I know, it's possible to catch the mapping/send exception.
It's also easy to define an exception branch for this exception, and inside the exception branch, send a "normal" message in a send step.
However, as far as I know there's no way of specifying a BPM send step that sends a fault message.
At least in my experience, regular messages are just as useful when sending error information.
    Cheers,
    Ofer

  • Job log messages in BPM

    Hi All,
I am doin Business Process Monitoring for monitoring batch jobs of a satellite system so that we will be getting tickets when some job is cancelling.
for cancellation of jobs SD tickets are generating.
now the requirement is to genarate a SD ticket for the successful job completion.
in BPm we have one option as "job log messages" in Background job monitoring type.
can we do it from there? How will the information be displayed in the ticket for job completion?
we are defining some threshold values also in that option. how those threshold values will help in generating SD ticket.
can anyone please suggest some idea.
    thanks
    Tripti

    Hi,
You can monitor job log message with Business Process Monitoring in two ways (for an alert description see http://help.sap.com/saphelp_smehp1/helpdata/en/99/b45f54119044f19d389b2cad3430bc/frameset.htm)
    a) Error messages:
Use case: You want to create alerts/notifications if background job creates more than N error messages in the job log.
-> Use the upper limit for yellow/red alerts.
-> Example: Job canceled ->monitor message of class 00 and with ID 564 (type A)
    b) Success messages:
Use case: You want to create alerts/notifications if background job creates less than N success messages in the job log (Usually you want to watch the create of follow documents or the successful update of documents)
-> Use the lower limit for yellow/red alerts
-> Example: Job finished without error -> monitor message of class 00 and with ID 517 (type S).
In both cases you will get a green rating - but no notification - if conditions for yellow/red alert are not met. Notifications (manual and automatic creation) are allowed for yellow and red alerts only.

  • Collection of messages in BPM

    Hi Experts,
Collection of messages in BPM is not working,IP is executing for each Idoc.Actually i have done the sceanrio Idoc to File,Here I am getting multiple IDocs of same type from R3 when run a transaction and i would be generate a single file for all the IDocs. For this i have changed the occurence of Idoc from 1..1 to 1..unbounded and done the mapping betweeen these two. i have done bpm just like as standarad bpm pattern "BpmPatternCollectTime".I mentioned the time as 1 minute.in transformation step i had mentioned interface mapping for 1..1 Idoc to 1..unbounded Idoc and the real mapping conditions of this sceanrio is carried out after the bpm. The Idoc's are generating from R3 with the time diffrence of 3 secs.So it should generating a single file what ever the no.of idocs populating within a minute.
In monitoring it showning for bpm, its trigerring for each incoming Idoc and procesing successfully.
For Ex: Two idocs are coming from R3 then BPM triggers twice
What could be the possible reasons for this or i have done any thing wrong.
    Any ideas.., Thanks in advance

Block: We use it to combine steps that you want to execute one after the other and which are to access the local data.
Empty: It has no influence on the process flow. We use it as a place holder for a step that has not yet been defined, and as a step with no functions for test purposes.
Wait: We use it to incorporate a delay in the process.
Switch: We use it to define different processing branches for a process

To deal with Multiple sender and receivers based on the conditions we could use BPM. Its one of the feature of BPM, but its not mandatory to go for BPM for each n every case. Its depends upon scnenario.

    Hi,
If you are doing confirmation in SRM , it is Extended classic scenario.
error : There is no outbound or Inbound Idoc found with error
You   have not created the IDoc  for the outbound Idoc for the confirmation to take to the backend.
Create the Message type and partner profile in WE20
Create Distribution model in SRM -T.code :BD 64
we found the PO Number or Confirmation number to check whether the confirmation is posted or not
Soln: Check in confirmation in display/process confirmation in SRM enter the  timeframe
(or) check in R/3  in ME23N by putting the Purchase order no and check the goods receipt
