Monitoring Webi server running

I need to develop a jsp page to monitor that our BO XI R2 Webi report server is running. I found what looks like very similar functionality in the SDK Sample application. There is a page in the \ServerAdministration directory of the sample app called GetServerMetrics.jsp. Calling that page through the webapp gives me an error that it cannot find the class:
import com.businessobjects.sdk.plugin.desktop.metricdescriptions.*;
I imagine I'm missing a library but am not sure which one. Can someone help with the library(or libraries) I'm missing and where they go on the BO XI server?

It will work once you upgrade to BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 3.0 - it's new functionality.
For XI Release 2, you'd query CI_SYSTEMOBJECTS for SI_KIND='Server' objects, retrieve IServer.getServerAdmin() and see which one implements IWebiServerAdmin interface.
That's the only info you'd get from the Web Intelligence Report Server with XI Release 2.

Has anyone setup a Ubuntu Web server running Ebox behind a AirportExtreme?

I'm setting up a Ubuntu Server, as a web server on a LAN that has access to the Internet via an AirportExtreme (cable modem on the WAN port). The Server is running Ebox (a web based maintenance tool) which can be accessed via the WAN on HTTPS port 443.
Are there any setup considerations on the Airport I need to consider to allow access from the Internet?

You will most likely need to configure the 802.11n AirPort Extreme Base Station (AEBSn) for port mapping to allow inbound traffic from the Internet to access your web server. Note: You will need a Windows PC or Mac to run the AirPort Utility to configure the AEBSn.

Hi all,
I'm new to Arch, this is my 3rd day. I'm still actually fairly new to Linux, and haven't done a lot of customization, especially with desktop monitoring and status apps like conky and etc. I'm running Arch on a fairly old laptop, and I don't do a lot of performance hogging things, so I really have no interest in monitoring my local machine or displaying stats of my local machine on my desktop. But, if it were possible to somehow aggregate performance and stats from my remote webserver that would be fantastic.
Even if it's something as simple as uptime and cpu load averages or anything like that. Has anyone ever done any kind of remote server monitoring on the desktop and if so, what's the best program to install for that? I've never used conky before or any other, so before I invest a bunch of time in one, if it's not going to meet these particular needs, I'd rather get some direction from you guys.
as for my webserver, it is a dedicated web server running debian (Dreamhost), so I have full capability to install what I need to install on it in order to make the performance monitoring available, as long as whatever I need to install is secure. I only have ssh and ftp access to the server as far as I know.

Conky has the ability to execute arbitrary commands and capture the output. Take a look at man conky and see the information on the exec command and friends.

We are developing an embedded system. We need install a web server in our system. We got some information about Sun web server, but it is not enough for us to decide which web server we should use. Would you please give me some detail information of Sun web server?

Access websites hosted on local web server

Hi there,
I have a Cisco ASA 5505 in my home office which has a few PCs behind it with a linux web server running some websites. I can access the websites from outside no problem (i.e. on my iPhone using a 3G connection). However, I struggle to access the websites from within the network. The ASA gives me this error:

Hi,
I assume that you are trying to reach the LAN server with the public IP address that the ASA holds and also uses for the above Port Forward / Static PAT configuration?
If this is the situation then I am afraid that with the current configuration that is not possible. The NAT configuration towards Internet is done between probably "inside" and "outside". So "outside" interface holds the public IP address. ASA doesnt let you connect to that "outside" IP address from behind the "inside" IP address. (Or any other interface for that matter)
What you could try to do is configure a NAT that would enable you to use the public IP address of the server even when connecting from the "inside" of ASA.
Try this
object network SERVER-LOCAL
host 192.168.55.200
object network SERVER-PUBLIC
host 86.x.x.x
object network LAN
subnet 192.168.55.0 255.255.255.0
nat (inside,inside) source dynamic LAN interface destination static SERVER-PUBLIC SERVER-LOCAL
Where
SERVER-LOCAL = Is the "object" that defines the real IP address of the server
SERVER-PUBLIC = Is the "object" that defines the public IP address of the server (that ASA holds on its "outside")
LAN = Is the "object" that defines the subnet from where LAN users connect to the server public IP address
Check that the network mask is correct for the LAN and fill in the public IP address.
The actual NAT configuration tells the ASA this
When a connection from LAN is coming towards SERVER-PUBLIC then UN-NAT SERVER-PUBLIC to SERVER-LOCAL and NAT LAN to "inside" interface IP address (as defined by the parameter "interface" in the configuration)
This should enable the LAN hosts to use the public IP address to connect to the server. The server though will see the connections coming from the ASA "inside" interface IP address.

comments of can't you drop Novonyx, or why are you still using Novonyx
when Novell is trying to go to Apache for its Web Server. I did as
suggested and renamed the Novonyx folder and reinstalled Enterprise
Web
Server, and reinstalled the SP3.
When you install Enterprise Web Server from the NetWare 6 installation
CD, It still adds a Novonyx folder. So the part of why are you still using Novonyx is a poor statement to make in trying to trouble shoot a
problem.

Limiting access to copyright-restricted material on a web server

Hello Folks,
I know this is close in topic to some other recent discussions but please indulge me here.
I have access to a stand-alone web server running OS X 10.5 server. I need to limit access to some copyrighted material on that web server to staff and students of our institution. There is a LDAP database available. The xserve is not currently running Open Directory. On almost any other Apache 2.2.x server, I would probably use a auth-ldap type module but OS X 10.5 doesn't have this.
I know very little about this topic but it seems my options are to compile a new version of Apache with the required modules or to start Open Directory, connect to the ldap database and create a new group of Auth_Users (30,000 records in the LDAP database)and use Realms.
Is this correct? If both options are valid, are there good reasons for going for one rather than the other? Any good documentation out there?

I would probably use a auth-ldap type module but OS X 10.5 doesn't have this.
No, it has something better.
Since Mac OS X can plug into a number of directory systems (Active Directory, Open Directory, BSD Files, etc.), Apple included the modauthapple which plugs into that system.
Therefore whatever authentication system(s) your Mac is set to use will filter down into Apache.
So step 1 is to join your Mac to the Authentication system (via /Applications/Utilitiy/Directory Utility)
Step 2 is to enable modauthapple
Step 3 is to use Server Admin to define your realm and choose the group from the directory.

Setting up web server

I have Sun Web Server running on one of my local PC's (192.168.1.136, port 136). I can access the web server from one of my other local PC's by typing 192.168.1.136:136 in my web browser. However, I can not access it by typing my external IP xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:136.
To do this, I thought all I would need to do is add the following line to the Port Range Forwarding section of the admin GUI.
Start Port: 136
End Port: 136P
Protocol: TCP and UDP both checked
To IP Address: 192.168.1.136
Enabled: checked
Is there anything else I need to do? I checked the firewall settings on my web server PC and they are fine (I am able to reach it via one of my other local PC's after all). Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Web Server 6.1 Error failure ( 967): HTTP3068: Error receiving request

Hi I have install Sun web server 6.1 on my T2000 system with solaris 10, the web server run the Siebel CRM application, but it is tooooo slow to bring the first page. Takes about 6.07 sec to bring the login page. The log files of the web server gives me a lot of +"failure ( 967): HTTP3068: Error receiving request"+.

Your Web Server has probably been configured to run as a user that doesn't have access to \\192.168.0.77\all\_photo\img. Use the Windows Services applet to check which user the Web Server runs as.

Sun one web server 6.0 admin instance

Hi,
After installing Sun one web server 6.0 sp6 on HP-UX, the admin server instance seems to work fine (i.e. I can bring up the admin web page). However, I cannot bring up web page from other web server instance. it gives me this error "the page cannot be displayed". Am I supposed to get a default webpage from this web server? How can I tell if this web server is working properly? Please help.

How to reach a web server with a GPRS connection?

We have developed a cRio Datalogger and we control it by a remote panel with the cRio connected in our LAN.
Now we want to do the same connecting the cRio with a GPRS Modem-Router from Multitech (a Multimodem with DynDns capabilities). The problem is that our provider of GPRS service give a private IP, so we can't access the cRio from internet.
We did a test with an example that comes with Labview, a multiclient TCP connection, we run the client vi in a PC connected to internet with the GPRS Modem and the server in another PC in our LAN. The example runs perfect. In the client vi we added some indicators to show the network address an the remote port, but we can't open a remote panel of the client vi from the PC running the server vi, using the information collected. The network address it isn't a IP number is a name and for our surprise the remote port number is diferent that the port used by the example.
Conclusion, we can do a TCP/IP connection if the communication is started by the Device with the GPRS Modem but we can't do the opposite. The problem is the same to have a web server running in a PC in a LAN and want to reach it from internet without having access to the router configuration.
And because the remote front panel connection is started by the PC who want to open it we can't make it work.
Any idea, is possible what we want to do?

We solved the problem using a SIM with movil wide band enabled. With that service, the cell phone company give a public IP address (here in Argentine).

Can I sync to a network share or personal web server?

I really love the idea of FireFox Sync.
However I am very uncomfortable with storing that much personal information on a third party server, even one as trusted as yours.
Is there a way to sync up to my own web server (running linux) or sync up to a network share (on windows)?
Right now I'd be most interested in syncing the password file between my laptop and PC using a windows network share, and not having that sensitive data travel over the internet at all.
I know it is encrypted and everything but security breaches and flaws do occasionally happen and as a business owner with everything stored in my password file I cannot take that risk.
I have the staff available to write a addon to take advantage of this feature, if there is documentation available on how to leverage the sync code to connect to a different server or network share.
