  • Month end accural and Year end accural processings.

    Hi Experts,
Can you please give me an idea about month end accural and year end accural proecess in payroll?? What are the responsibilities of functional consultants in accural processing??
    Thanks,
    Kanna.

    Hi,
The purpose of the accrual process is to recognize payroll costs in the month in which they were incurred, i.e. when the employee actually performs the work.
This accrual process will result in a more accurate presentation of monthly and year-end payroll expenses and liabilities.
The accrual is calculated in HRMS and posts an entry in FI (debit department payroll expense and credit accrued liability) to account for the portion of earnings owed but not paid at month end.
The accrual is calculated as follows:
The system determines the fraction of the payrolls that were earned but not physically paid in the current month. This amount is calculated based on the number of days in each payroll that were earned in the month, as a fraction of the total number of days in each payroll (10 days for all biweekly payrolls). If an entire payroll was earned and not paid, then the fraction would be 1 (ie.100% accrual). Some months may have to accrue a fraction of one payroll, other months we may accrue more than one payroll.

you go live on the SAP payroll system in the middle of a financial year, you have an option to transfer your legacy data into the SAP payroll system.
The system provides the schema INLK for transferring your legacy data. For this purpose, you need to perform the following IMG activities:
Define the payroll periods for which you want to transfer the legacy data. For more information, refer to the IMG under Payroll India -> Legacy Data Transfer -> Define Periods for Import
Define the type of data you want to import. For more information refer to the IMG under Payroll India -> Legacy Data Transfer -> Define Pay Elements for Import
Upon execution along with the payroll driver, the schema INLK formats the information defined in the above tables as payroll results and stores the values in the database table PCL2.
For more information on the Legacy Data Transfer functionality, refer to OSS note number 506128.

  • Front end and Back end experience in SAP BW

    Hi Friends...
Can ne1 plz explain wht things in SAP BW come under Front end and Back end experience......Thanks in advance

Generally, back-end would consist of the taks associated with configuration of data targets (ODS, Cubes), working with extractors, mapping data to the data targets, writing transfer/start rtn/update rules, and creating Infopkgs/ Process Chains.
Front-end deals with the use of the BW - writing queries, workbooks, web (although I think some of the infrastructure aspects of web reporting. e.g. javascript/templates might really could be considered backend).  Think of Front-end as all of the client/customer/user facing components.

  • Split month, date and year

How to split month, date and year from date field ? is there any standard function module.

    You can do this.
    data: year(4) type c,
          month(2) type c,
          day(2) type c.
    year = sy-datum(4).
    month = sy-datum+4(2).
    day = sy-datum+6(2).
    write:/ year.
    write:/ month.
    write:/ day.

  • Create Date Column out of Full Month Name and Year

I am trying to use Power Query to create a new column of data as a Date.  My data contains two columns: Month as the full text name and Year, for purposes of this example, I will set all days to the 15th.  In Excel, I would simply use a formula
to convert the text month to the proper date part.
Example:  [Month] = "January" and [Year] = 2013
    DATEVALUE([Month]&" 15, "&[Year])
What is the syntax to Add a Column in Power Query with this conversion?
    Thanks, Barbara

For an existing table in the editor with columns Month and Year, click "Insert Custom Column" and use this as the formula:
    = Date.FromText([Month] & " 15," & Number.ToText([Year]))
This will create a formula which looks something like this:
        InsertedCustom = Table.AddColumn(Source, "Custom", each Date.FromText([Month] & " 15," & Number.ToText([Year])))
Note that one difference between Excel and Power Query is that Excel will let you concatenate text and numbers with "&" but Power Query requires that you first convert the number to text.

  • Open documents and year end closing.

    Hi experts,
I would like to know if it is necessary to close all open documents before we start the year end process.
Since practically it is not possible to close all open documents.
here open documents refer to Purchase orders, GRPO's, Sales orders, deliveries etc.
    kindly suggest.

    hi ajith,
Purchase orders, sales order won't have any impact on accouting which will only
    effect ordered,committed quantities.
GRPO can be kept open in case when there is orginal bill is yet to be sent by vendor.
Production orders which are open(ie) production completed - should be closed atleast
before year end so that it can't avoid unnessary WIP variance posted in next fiscal year,
because production orders will post JE's only on Actual Closing Date.

  • Authentication with UME separation of front end and back end

My webdynpro project has 2 application. One for Admin one for Rating.
Is it possible to create a java class at Webdynpro level and share it between the 2 applications?
    Why the need?
Created a custom class (lets called it CommonEJB), to point to the right pages and set of UI controls after the initial login with UME. This class utilizes the IWDClientUser.getSAPUset() method to get IUser object.
If it is not possible to create a java class at Webdynpro, then this ejb will need to be deployed to the backend.
Putting it at the backend is not good as security wise, its always better to separate the authentication between front and back end.
    Any ideas/solutions?
    thanks

Well, i wish to create a java class that can separate the view areas depending on their login.
lets say you're a manager, u can see certain views. and if you're a supervisor u see another. This is achieved using the java class with information from getSAPUser() position. After retrieving the position, using the java class will programmatically assigned the appropriate views, buttons, tabs etc.
so this class need to in front end, and not back end. problem is we have 2 application.
if the class is created front end in one application can it be shared with another.

  • Report to show all activities (ended and not ended)

    Hi,
I would like to do a report to show all activities (not ended and ended), but when I do the report from "Activity" the only information shown is no ended activities.
Is possible to show all activities? How can I do it?
    Thank you and regards.

Monica - depending on the Subject Area, including certain "look-up" or reference fields to other tables automatically implies a join-relationship between the 2 tables.
Case-in-point, the activities subject area. Whenever you include fields from other objects like (Account Name, Campaign Name, Contact job title, etc.) "Answers" will automatically assume that you only want those activities where those field-values are populating, consequently filtering the report. It seems to occur any time you're trying to include data across tables in a one to one relationship.
A better example, and likely a common headache for CRM report builders is an Opportunity report, wherein you're including data from the Primary Contact associated to the opportunity. By the same limitations, you would wind up with only those opportunities that have a Primary Contact associated, versus all opportunities with contact-data if it's populated.
It is my understanding that the only workaround is to use Combined Analyses to create an union of the 2 reports, one with all opportunities and another with primary contacts. Use a pivot table and max-aggregation rule on the contact name to remove dupes.
