Monthly photostream project images missing

Went to look for a photo in one of the monthly projects that photostream creates, and almost all of my images are gone. There are only a couple of images left in each monthly project. I manually recovered those that are still in the 1000 on photostream, but everything prior to that seems to be gone. Any ideas? Thanks.
Aperture 3.4.3

Are the Photo Stream projects the only projects with missing images? That really should not happen.
I'd make a backup of the Aperture library and then try the Aperture library first aid:

  • Identifying images in Photostream Project as being elsewhere in the database?

my aperture database is stuck on 3.4.5 because my mac pro is stuck on lion and i cannot figure out how to SORT my library with respect to these Projects.
basically i have changed my PS settings over the last couple of years (including my import settings) and i can no longer figure out if images that are in PS project are /solely/ in these projects or if they also reside elsewhere in the database. this relates (in part) to a confusion i had about what photo stream was doing but also about what the settings were doing.
so i have a huge issue where i don't know if SOME of the images in these Projects are basically "originals" in my database (it is the only instance of them in the database) or if they represent basically copies of images that are stored in their correct place in a Project that "thematically" sorts my images.
i mean, ideally i want to get all my images sorted THEMATICALLY in a Project and not simply have SOME of them only in the PS Projects. i also don't want to have to drag out /all/ of the images, sort all of them into thematically named Projects and then have to delete the ones that came in twice. this will be a nightmare and represent possibly three weeks of work.
anyway, i am upgrading to a new laptop with a larger hard drive and i am wondering if i migrate my library onto this new computer with a newer OS (and presumably a newer version of Aperture) can i sort this out easier/easily?
right now under my current OS i do not believe there is a way to see if the images in my PhotoStream Projects are basically duplicates of other images that have already been sorted into thematically named Projects of if in fact i need to move some images out of these PS Projects in order to get them where they belong.
hopefully someone understands the predicament and if not can ask me to clarify as i am pretty much dead in the water with an unsorted database AFAIK.
    THANKS

Yes you are right concerning iPhoto retaining the full size photo, in my earlier post I was incorrect to assume that PS pushed the lower quality photo to iPhoto, it doesn't, but it does push a lower quality image to your other idevices. This quoted from the FAQ....
On your Mac or PC, your photos are downloaded and stored in full resolution. On your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, and Apple TV, your Photo Stream photos are delivered in a device-optimized resolution that speeds downloads and saves storage space. While actual dimensions will vary, an optimized version of a photo taken by a standard point-and-shoot camera will have a 2048 x 1536 pixel resolution when pushed to your devices.
Your device holds two copies of the same photo, one in PS, the other in whatever album you save your photo to, or the camera roll. My point is that PS is supposed to be a temporary folder, holding the images for 30 days, allowing you time to save the ones you want. As it is now, it's duplicating every photo, and storing them on the same device twice. Not what I want, nor what it's intended to do. If you have an iPhone, you can check this by using Camera+ or an app which shows metadata. Take a photo, import it into Camera+ then click info, look at the file size, then load the same photo from PS, again click info and look at the file size. Two different sizes, meaning two copies of the same photo, one being lower quality.
I just want it to do the task it's supposed to, which is temporarily hold my images, letting me save the ones I want, and then clearing after a month.

  • Reinserting Preview/Images missing from  Library and Project

After ingesting my images from CF reader into a project, I started working on them. For some reason after working on them for awhile, I started noticing that previews were missing from the project. I looked in the Library and they were not there either. However, when I looked in to the project folder (via the Aperture "folder" in Finder), the images and associated Aperture information files were all there in their respective folders.
I'm not sure how I lost/deleted so many images from my folder and Library (I may have accidently deleted a stack, but when I searched the number of images missing I know I could not have accidently deleted that many that way if I did). But since the files are still on my hard drive in their respective folders, in the right location, is there a way to bring them back into Aperture?
    Thanks,
    Ed

bump...if anyone can tell me that would be great. I know it sounds like a dumb question, but for the life of me I cannot do any command - import, etc. - that can get these files that reside in the actual folder to show up in Aperture's Library or its original project.
    Thx,
    Ed

  • Images missing in project folder

    Hi you all,
I have created a big project in RB5 with 166 images included
in the topics. Everything was fine.
When I just opened this particular project the images appear
to be ok (you see them in the topics). But when I look in the
'images' folder in the project, I am missing 80% of the used images
(I only see 17 images!). If I locate the 'images' folder on our
network server, they all are there.
    - 'missing' images are .jpg .gif and .png (at random)
    - restoring location doesn't help: go to 'missing' image in
topic > go to image properties (right click) > image name is
correct (../images/edit24.png), preview is ok (right), but image
not in the project folder (left). I click OK and save the project
    > image is back in the 'images' folder in the project! BUT when
    I re-open the project, it's gone again.
Help me! What should I do? And how is this possible??

When the project was originally created (back about RH v9) it
was decided not to keep all the images in the root directory. We
normally save our images to our Images folder, then Browse to that
directory to add it into the first topic. Once referenced in the
topic, it is listed in our Images folder, as you said with the two
Images hierarchy. This has worked fine up until this upgrade to
    RH7.
I also thought naming confusion might have been the case,
which is why I tried renaming the Images folder to a variety of
different things. However the only one that seems to stick is Img2.
I've also belatedly remembered to check another images
directory, which is located a couple of folders down (this is for
admin specific images). This is also missing files. And again, the
only folder name that correctly displays all images after deleting
the cpd is Img2. (why do I always find the weird things??
The current project is probably too big to share easily. I'll
see if I can recreate in a new project, but I suspect I won't be
able to. I'll let you know how it goes.
Edit: Okay, with the admin images folder, if I rename it
Images, I get a few more images than when it is Admin_Images. Img3
also seems to give me the full list, while Img1 gives me the same
list as Admin_Images...I think I'm getting more confused.

  • RoboHelp suddenly no longer recognizes project images

I am having major problems with project images, and am unable
to find a workaround. The images are initailly recognized by
RoboHelp, then mysteriously become urecognized. I reinserted all of
the images, all was well for a while, and then the project
suddently does not reconize them again. It just happend for a third
    time.
I have read through many posts describing problems users have
with images, but it did not help my situation:
-- I understand that there is inconsistent behavior in
RoboHelp if images are pasted into topics rather than via the
    <b>Insert > Image</b> menu item. I am inserting them
    via Insert > Image menu.
-- I also read that there can be display issues based on the
tool that was used to capture an image. I use SnagIT version 8 for
all captures. My issue is not with display, but of "some" of the
files disappearing from the project list.
-- I also read some posts suggesting that all images be
placed in the project root to avoid porblems. That is not a viable
solution for me -- it is a very large project with several hundred
images -- I could not effectively manage the images if I could not
    organize them in folders.
Here is what I am seing:
-- After I insert the images (using Insert > Image) the
names of the images appear in the topics and are listed in the
    Project View OK.
-- I continue with general project development, and
periodically generate output and run reports to check for project
health, including Missing References and Unused Files. I notice
that some of the images that were previously OK show up in the
Unused File report.. I then look in the Project tab, and see that
the Unused images are no longer included in the tree.
-- I then open the topics and see that the images are still
there in the topics, and I can see them in WYIWYG and in preview
    mode.
    -- I re-insert and the cycle repeats.
I am totally stuck and am continuously losing work.
I would very much appreciate help resolving this isue.
    Thank you in advance.
    Jackie

    Hi Rick.
How can I recreate the CPD file? Do they often become
    corrupt?
I just dicovered something this makes this problem even
weirder, and further makes it seem like corruption...
I copied the entire project structure to another directory,
opened it in RoboHelp, and did a project rename. (Hoping this would
perhaps 'clear' the project corruption.) I then ran the Unused
Files report, and got a totally different result than when I run
the report in the original. Actually, even more files appear on the
report in the renamed project. Then, I had someone else open the
project, and they see different results when they run the report
    from their machine.

    Hi,
We have configured couple of linux OVM images on OVM server 2.20. These images were running successfully from 1 month , suddenly we found 1 of the VM image missing from the /OVS/running_pool directory. Can you let me know if there is any bug in OVM 2.20 as we are running 100 of VM's and VM's image missing could be big issue in future.

To move an iPhoto Library to a new machine:
Link the two Macs together: there are several ways to do this: Wireless Network,Firewire Target Disk Mode, Ethernet, or even just copy the Library to an external HD and then on to the new machine...
But however you do choose to link the two machines...
Simply copy the iPhoto Library from the Pictures Folder on the old Machine to the Pictures Folder on the new Machine.
Then hold down the option (or alt) key key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Choose Library'
and select the Library that you moved.  That's it.
This moves photos, events, albums, books, keywords, slideshows and everything else.
Your first option didn't work because you imported one Library to another. Every version and thumbnail is imported like a distinct photo, you lose all your Albums, Keywords etc., the link between Original and Previews is destroyed, the non-destructive editing feature is ruined and so on. In summary: it's mess.
Your second option didn't work because you simply referenced her library on the old machine.

  • I want the projected image on the wall to just be the full screen of the slide

when I plug my mac air into my projector, Keynote display on the wall has Current slide: 1 of 85.  How do i make this go away on the projected image?  This also decreases the size of the image on the wall.  It's not full screen on the wall.

You may have your primary and secondary displays swapped since what you are seeing on the wall is the Presenter's View which would normally be the one visible to you on your MacBook Air.
Check your Keynote Preferences Slideshow Settings. At the bottom of the settings list are options to switch the displays.
Also, some MacBooks have a Function Key that allows the displays to be swapped from the keyboard; on my MacBook Pro it is F7, but that may differ between models. Look for a Function Key with two overlapping rectangles. It is a toggle key for displays.
    Good Luck.

  • TutWD_FlightList_Init .project file missing

    Hello,
I am trying the TutWD_FlightList_Init tutorial.
    I have downloaded the project.
For the first time I could successfully import this project into my workspace , however while creating model i was getting jjava.lang.NullPointerException.
So also when I tried to import this project for the second time into my workspace , while importing it said .project file missing.
Can anyone suggest the possible solutions to resolve the issues I am facing.
    Thanks & Regards
    Pooja

    Hi,
Removing the .metadata folder and restarting NWDS fixed my NWDS as well.
I think you have to downloaded TutWD_FlightList_Init  this application in SDN right. May be that application having some problem you can create application in own way. I think you are new to webdynpro JAVA right. Please read this [Document|http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.km.cm.docs/library/web-dynpro-java/_web-dynpro-java/WDJava%20archive/Creating%20a%20Web%20Dynpro%20Application%20Accessing%20ABAP%20Functions.pdf]

    Hi,
No it's the same Photoshop .Photography program is just a temporary promotion pack with Photoshop and Lightroom  and it can end anytime .So you can buy Indesign and photography to have Indesign,Photoshop and Lightroom .

And I can see the images in the project overview-big-icon window. But the images are not viewed/visible when I click the project. I have tried fixing the database and exporting the project but neither worked. The odd thing is . What can I do?
    Thanks for your help.

  • "referenced images missing" when they weren't even referenced

I am getting this "image missing icon" on images that are in the library. Rebuild database and everything and still no go.

I have had a few of these "missing referenced" images also. The wife too has had some missing referenced photos that were never set as referenced. All were imported at the same time from a managed library from our MacBook. Hopefully someone can answer this question.

  • "Final Cut Events/Projects" folders missing

So I upgraded to Mavericks over the weekend and things were going great for a while. I wasn't experiencing any of the known issues that other people were experiencing after the upgrade.
But then I clicked the Movies tab in finder and realized that my "Final Cut Events" and "Final Cut Projects" are missing! The backups folder is still intact, as well as my libraries, but those folder are missing. I've searched thoroughly around my MacBook and cannot locate them.
So I guess I'm wondering: is there away to recreate these folders? I can still access events and projects from within Final Cut Pro but the only way to get to the events or projects is by right-clicking on a library in the Movies tab and selecting the "Show Package Contents" option.
This is my first post on the forum because I am literally puzzled and have spent many hours searching for a solution to no avail. Any and all help would be greatly, greatly appreciated. Thanks guys.

Mark, thanks for lending a helping hand. Truthfully, I don't rememeber that option when I upgraded. There was nothing too important in the folders, as I store the larger projects on my Time Capsule and try to delete old events as I complete the projects. However, when I now import footage, the events are only created in the designated FC library. Those folders don't exist on my computer anymore and they are not in the trash. Is there a way to recreate the folders or did I completely ruin FC? Thanks again for your help, it means a lot.
