More Creative Cloud pricing options please

Something that confuses me with respect to the creative cloud pricing model is why there aren't more options? For example, why is it that only the entire "master suite" is available for $50/month, and not more affordable options that might allow users to select certain applications-- a la carte-- and create a custom subscription plan? Say I really only need Dreamweaver and Photoshop, and I like the idea of paying a subscription fee as opposed to one (huge) lump sum for the retail box-- seems it would be wise to accommodate such a need via the CC, no?
I know many artists and designers for whom $600/year is frankly cost-prohibitive, and who would likely get on board with some more affordable options available.

I think of the Cloud as a smorgasbord or "Hometown Buffet" if you will of product choices.
Product choices? You only have once choice — The Creative Cloud. If a person wants a smorgasbord, that person can get a smorgasbord. But that is hardly the only thing on a menu... Except with Adobe.
It's the wrong analogy anyway since with food you know you are leaving with nothing once you are done eating. With the Cloud you leave with nothing because that's the choice Adobe has made for us.
Nancy O. wrote:
Obviously, you probably won't use all of them.  But they're there for folks who may want to try them.
How about letting the users decide that for themselves? This is some serious up selling going on. Everybody uses Acrobat PRO to send PDF's to print houses. Add just one other product to the mix and you might as well go for everything. This is not a choice. It's a forced upgrade to something more expensive that you don't need. And you don't get to keep a license.
And besides, trial versions are for people who want to try out programs.

Since I've been on the Cloud plan, I find I'm actually using more products now than I ever have before which enriches my skill-set.[..]
Fair enough.
Nancy O. wrote:
[...] I think that's what Adobe was counting on when they made the Cloud available at such an affordable introductory price.
No... Adobe is counting on you to only use Adobe products. It makes you dependent on Adobe products so you won't even pay attention to anything else that is out there. It's a dangerous thing to put your entire career in the hands of just one company.
Nancy O. wrote:
If $600 per year is too much, you can still purchase CS6 on a perpetual license.
A lot of us have been upgrading our Adobe software for years... and would have continued to do so. This isn't only about the price.
With a subscription only model we lose our security of a normal license. We have nothing to fall back on if we stop our subscription. Either keep paying Adobe forever or lose the ability to open up the programs. This is unacceptable.
But still being able to buy a perpetual license, albeit just for CS6, is something we can agree on. CS6 is still a fine piece of software.

You can right click the tab and choose "Close Tab" to close a tab.
Some menu entries are hidden by default and only appear if you use the keyboard to open the menu.
You can see the difference if you use Alt+F or Alt+B to open the "File" and "Bookmarks" menu and compare that to what you see if you use the mouse to open the menu after you have made the menu bar visible by pressing Alt or by pressing F10.
Press F10 or press and hold the Alt key down to bring up the "Menu Bar" temporarily.

  • Creative Cloud Pricing Agreement Revoked?

I signed up for a Creative Cloud membership based on Adobe's promise of $29.99/month for a full year starting on 8/30/12. This was based on my ownership of Illustrator CS4. Now it sounds as though Adobe is going to go back on that deal December 31st. Is this true? Or am I misreading their notice?

That notice is not related to Creative Cloud pricing. It's for Creative Suite traditional upgrades and is aimed at CS3 and CS4 owners.
It's marking the end of Adobe's compromise offer shortly after the new "one version back" upgrade policy for CS6 was suddenly announced without warning in late 2011 - before CS6 was released.
In short, CS3 and CS4 owners - traditionally version skippers who would often wait 3 versions under the old policy until they upgraded - were going to be unfairly excluded from the CS6 upgrade pricing through no fault of their own, leading to a user backlash last year
    http://scottkelby.com/2011/an-open-letter-to-adobe-systems/
In response, Adobe temporarily relaxed the "one version back" policy for 2012 to allow CS3 and CS4 users to upgrade to CS6.
    http://www.adobe.com/products/creativesuite/faq/upgrade-policy.html
That temporary offer ends on 31 Dec 2012, which is what the email you received is all about.
From 1 Jan 2013, CS3 and CS4 owners must pay full price for CS6. Only CS5 and CS5.5 owners will be eligible for upgrade pricing.
I foresee lots of disgruntled posts from CS3 and CS4 owners crying foul next year when they decide that they will upgrade to CS6 after all - and then find out that it's too late and they can't.

  • Syncing Issues with Creative Cloud - No Solution - Please Reply

I have spent over two hours with your live chat team in which they took over my computer, deleted files from the CMD prompt and I am still receiving syncing errors using Creative Cloud.
They had me, delete files, restart my computer, sign-in and out of Creative Cloud, pause syncing, change file directories and nothing work.  My issue was then escalated to upper management in which I had to repeat the entire issue.
I was passed around from multiple individuals in live chat and at the end, no solution was found.  I have been an Adobe client for over 15 years now and I am not pleased that a resolution still has not been found.
I wasted over 2 hours on live chat and then received an email stating that my case was closed because the support team found a resolution!  This was completely untrue.
I am asking someone from Adobe upper management to please contact me directly.  I will not spend more time with your live chat team and send more log files that do no good.  As a long-time client, please contact me.

It may not be possible to manually update your payment details.  Could you please place a new order and get back to us if you have further issues.
    Thanks

  • CS5 to CS6 upgrade and creative cloud pricing

I dont understand adobe's logic with pricing of upgrades compared to the cloud.
I bought the cs5 master collection upgrade from a single suit at least in part because I assumed each subsequent upgrade would be about $800.  I skipped cs5.5 because it
    a) it was priced as a whole version number upgrade
    b) my core apps werent updated.
Now I come to upgrade to CS6 and find that I have to pay again for a single suit upgrade. There is no upgrade path from CS5 master to CS6 master.  That is a rip off to start.
I also find that even paying the full price on yearly contract its far cheaper to go with the cloud over the expected lifetime of the product: over 2 years its $1200.  The upgrade path I have available is around $1500.
How does that make the upgrade viable?
And finally having to post this here because there is no formal route to contact adobe sales via email. If anyone can provide one i'd be obliged.

I have had Adobe software for a long long time, and I decided to drop my perpetual licenses for the Creative Cloud. I upgrade every version anyway (more or less) so it's not a big deal for me price wise.
I also use more than just the Production suite software (Acrobat and Dreamweaver) so Creative Cloud sort of consolidates all of that.
My current experience is...the Creative Cloud is a work in progress. There are still features that aren't there yet, like the Creative Cloud desktop app, and some other functionality that's all coming sometime later this summer or this year. The online storage is nice. The website hosting is nice too (although I haven't quite got it working yet).
I do have access to other programs I didn't have before like InDesign and Fireworks, so I've found those interesting to toy around with. Over the years I'd occasionally get an InDesign layout from someone and be unable to do anything with it, so that does solve a rare problem for me as well.
I'd say if you qualify for the discount pricing (which means you're either a student/teacher/edu subscriber, or own an existing CS3, CS4 or CS5 suite) then the $29/month is awesome. Just do it. If you're looking at the $49/month price, maybe not so much.
If you are only an infrequent creative type and only do video/image/print projects occasionally, go with the month-to-month plan and you don't have to worry about getting stuck on the long term, and you only pay for the software whenever you need it.

• Creative Cloud sharing options.

I am more than a little disappointed in the sharing options on Creative Cloud. Seeing as how this is a professional service, at a professional price, I expected more options than just Private and Public. I have a fair amount of work that I would like to share with clients and collaborators, but don't want to, and sometimes can't legally, put that up on the web publicly, especially in a form where anyone can right click on it, and save it as an image to their HDD. I can't be the only one with these concerns, can I? I had assumed from the beginning, that there would have to be features to allow access to only certain users, even if they had to be Creative Cloud users to take advantage of this, otherwise, how is it any different than just throwing it up on any old website? Even Google Drive or Dropbox offer me better sharing features as it stands right now.
Are there future plans to make the sharing more targeted to professionals?

I can see two different ways to incorporate security.
What I had actually assumed would be the case, before actually using the Creative Cloud sharing, was that you would have the option of either publicly sharing the file, or keep it private, but be able to invite other Creative Cloud users to view, comment, or download the file, based on their Adobe ID, or alternately send them a link, that would then invite them to setup a free Creative Cloud account, and then let them view, comment, or download the content, as per the permissions you had set.
The other, simpler, way to do it, as craigget1 suggests, is to just be able to set a password on the share, so that only people with the password can access it.
Whatever the case, right click to download the image has to be disabled. I like to think that I have a good relationship with my clients, but I definitely have had some unscrupulous clients over the years, who given the option, would happily right click on an unwatermarked comp, and throw it straight up on their site, and then argue about paying for it, since they already had the deliverable, as far as the were concerned. I know that there will never be a way to truely stop a determined person from snagging content from a website, but letting them just right click and download a decent rendering of your file, is just asking to be abused. Most clients aren't going to go as far as making a screen capture, and then trimming the excess off, but just letting them right click, is just begging for it. It has been one day of trying it out, and I already had one guy I'm working with, send me back a logo I'm working on for him, with his own changes he made in MS Paint, after he right clicked and saved the image. That isn't really how I want to work with people.
As a side note, there seem to also be some problems with the commenting system in the Creative Cloud sharing. I had three collaborators who commented on a file I put up, only one of the comments actually showed up, and none of them could see the comments they made after they submitted it, nor could anyone see any comments but mine.

    Hi TheAllSeeingEyeuk2013,
You can open task manager (ctrl+alt+delete) and go to processes tab.
There you should look for the process named CreativeCloud.exe. Select this process and then click on 'End Process'.
You can try to install the update now.
    Thanks
