More than one query

Using oracle apex, and one hidden item with sql query, i want to have these two queries :
the first one deletes all from that table, while the second one inserts the values 1,0
my problem is how to I do it that it follows this exact order? If i write them both like this, it gives me an error, so somewhere is a problem
delete from clicks where nr =(select nr from clicks where nr>0)
insert into clicks values (1,0)

not sure but did you try
BEGIN
delete from clicks where nr =(select nr from clicks where nr>0);
insert into clicks values (1,0);
END;

  • Is there a way to have more than one Query view in the same workbook?

Is there a way to have more than one Query view in the same workbook?
BEx allows us to insert Queries into workbooks, but not saved views.
I can open a view in excel & then save it as a workbook....but after that there is no way to add another view to the same excel. If I open a new view, it opens in a new Excel.

    Hi
when u open some query in BEx analyser,u can save it as a query view as well as workbook. The difference is, workbook is if u work with the design mode which will be in the left side of ur screen and query view is wen u save after drill downing some char or key figures from a intial screen wen u execute query in BEx analyser

  • Web Browser Session Hangs When Opening More Than One Query

Let me start off with the BW environment - we are on BW release 3.50 at support pack level 12. Basis component is release 6.40 at level 12.
We have a situation where a web browser HTTP session "hangs" while trying to execute more than one query at a time. A role based menu template is used by our end-users to run queries. The end-users execute a query and while it is running, try to execute a second query. But the web browser for the second query does not become available until the first query is complete.
The following is the detailed steps of the process:
    1. From my user menu in BW, expand the folder for Role Z: BW_REPORTING and click on SAP_BW_TEMPLATE – Web_Role_Menu. Web browser window will open.
    2. Within the ZTPL_Role_Menu_Reporting web page, select Role Z: FUNC_DEVELOPER > BW Reporting > Controlling > Profitability Analysis > Detail query. (Role Z: FUNC_TESTER can be used in this example as well, just follow the same menu path).  Click on Detail and another web browser window will open for the query selection screen.
    3. On the selection screen for the CO-PA Detail query, enter values and execute the query.
    4. While the CO-PA Detail query is executing, go back to the first opened web browser for ZTPL_Role_Menu_Reporting and go to Role Z: FUNC_DEVELOPER > BW Reporting > Controlling > Profitability Analysis > Operating Concern query. Run the CO-PA Operating Concern query while the CO-PA Detail query is still executing. The session for the Operating Concern “hangs” and does not display the selection screen until the CO-PA Detail query has completed. Once the Detail query has finished, then the second query, CO-PA Operating Concern will then display the selection screen for the query.
Our end-users expect the second query to display the selection screen immediately with no delay. The end-users do not want to wait for the selection screen of the second query. They want to be able to execute the queries simultaneously.
Our Basis group as tried adjusting some parameters and has implemented OSS note 853396, but the issue still exists.
Is it a BW issue or is it an issue with MS Internet Explorer?
Your input and suggestions are appreciated.
    Thanks.

    Hi.
I had a somewhat similar issue earlier when I tried closing BW Query windows, it would freeze and wouldn't close. I resolved the issue by turning off some BHO (Browser help Objects) in IE.It can be done using IE>Tools>Manage Add-Ons

  • Single-row subquery returns more than one query

    Hi,
i'm receiving the following error: Single-row subquery returns more than one query. I have no idea how I should debug this query. For all I know, the subqueries can only return 1 row... :S
I only have Oracle SQL Developer to run/test my queries. I can run the query with ROWNUM < 5000, which gives no errors. If I run with ROWNUM > 5000 and ROWNUM < 6000 then the error appears....
    Here's the query:
    with
    DATES as
(select (select min(REC_DATE) from STOCK) as FROM_DT, (select max(CHANGE_DATE) from STOCK_ADJUST) as TO_DT from DUAL),
    MONTHS as
(select add_months(trunc(FROM_DT,'MM'),ROWNUM-1) as DT from DATES connect by ROWNUM <= months_between(TO_DT, FROM_DT)+1),
    CALCULATIONS as
      (select
        PNM.PNM_AUTO_KEY PNM_KEY,
        MONTHS.DT DT,
        NVL((select sum(stm.qty_rec) from stock stm WHERE STM.REC_DATE < MONTHS.DT AND STM.PNM_AUTO_KEY = PNM.PNM_AUTO_KEY GROUP BY pnm_auto_key),0) INCOMING,
        NVL((select sum(saj.qty_adj) from stock_adjust saj
inner join stock stm on saj.stm_auto_key = stm.stm_auto_key
                                    inner join parts_master pnm on stm.pnm_auto_key = pnm.pnm_auto_key where SAJ.CHANGE_DATE < MONTHS.DT AND STM.PNM_AUTO_KEY = PNM.PNM_AUTO_KEY group by pnm_auto_key),0) OUTGOING
      from MONTHS, PARTS_MASTER PNM)
    SELECT
      ROWNUM, CALCULATIONS.PNM_KEY PNM_AUTO_KEY, CALCULATIONS.DT COUNT_DATE,CALCULATIONS.INCOMING QTY_RECEIVED, CALCULATIONS.OUTGOING QTY_USED, (CALCULATIONS.INCOMING + CALCULATIONS.OUTGOING) QTY_BALANCE
    FROM
      CALCULATIONS;Edited by: user574699 on Nov 17, 2008 2:10 AM code formatting

I suppose (how can i be sure?) that the queries in question are:
    NVL((select sum(stm.qty_rec) from stock stm WHERE STM.REC_DATE < MONTHS.DT AND STM.PNM_AUTO_KEY = PNM.PNM_AUTO_KEY GROUP BY pnm_auto_key),0) INCOMINGand
        NVL((select sum(saj.qty_adj) from stock_adjust saj
inner join stock stm on saj.stm_auto_key = stm.stm_auto_key
inner join parts_master pnm on stm.pnm_auto_key = pnm.pnm_auto_key where SAJ.CHANGE_DATE < MONTHS.DT AND STM.PNM_AUTO_KEY = PNM.PNM_AUTO_KEY group by pnm_auto_key),0) OUTGOINGBoth queries have an aggregate function based on the grouping on PNM_AUTO_KEY. Both WHERE clauses also include the = PNM_AUTO_KEY statement. So how can these return more than 1 row?
As I stated I cannot run the subqueries without the rest. The database contains over 200000 PNM_AUTO_KEYS, and I don't know which one is causing the problems....

  • Reports 9i Graphs with more than one query..

    Hello,
I am converting my 6i reports to 9i reports. On my graph reports with more than one query, when I invoke the graph wizard it changes the value of the src to the wrong query automatically. When I run my report, I am getting the error REP-0069 Internal Error rwlib-1: REP-6219 Column (Column Name) not in given cursor hierarchy. Although it's a pretty easy fix to go into the graph settings in the property palette and change it back, it is extremely frustrating. Has anyone else ran into this problem and did you find a permanent fix?
    Thanks,
    Laura

    Hi Laura
One workround would be to create a new query in the Data Model that includes desired fields, and then source
    chart to the new group.
FYi, bug2527100 was filed on this issue and is already fixed. The fix would be available in 9i Reports 9.0.2.2 patch. Reports 9.0.2.2 patch is scheduled to be released on Mar 05 2003 (tentative date).
    Thanks

  • Running a  BEx report with more than one query in Background

I am having a workbook with 2 queries .This workbook needs to be executed at a particular time every day and then save this file to a application server location .
The file name has to dynamic, as everday a new file has to be created with some date stamp.
Please let me know the steps/ ideas to achieve this

    Sudhakar,
are you sure that it has to b a workbook ? running queries independently can be done .. am not sure if a workbook can be scheduled to run...
One alternative is to use APD - have the queries run and populate two ODS and then have these ODS in a multiprovider and have one query output for the same - seems to be a very longworkaround...
Another option is to have the queries executed in an ABAP programme and then have the results in an internal table and push both the result sets into an excel sheet ad save it in the application server.
For reading queries in ABAP there is a functionmodule for the same .. something like RSDRI_INFOPROV_READ .. I am not too sure of the name but there is a function module for sure..
    Hope it helps..

  • Using more than one query to calculate a field

Im trying to calculate a third field through 2 results of 2 queries without success.
The problem simplified is the following. Suppose that query1 returns the value 10 per line and query2 return 20 per line. Then I have the lines:
    10 20
    10 20
    10 20
To do that I put query1 field in a repeating frame and query2 into another one.
What I wanna do is put a third column that make a calc with the 2 columns. Something like
    10 20 10/20
    10 20 10/20
    10 20 10/20
I cant make a join between the tables in queries 1 and 2 so Im looking for a more reasonable way to do this.
    Has someone any tips?
    null

you need to do a join, there's no other way you can do it. What about using rownum to join the tables
    select a.col1, b.col2, a.col1/b.col2 col3
    from
    (select col1,rownum r1
    from table1) a,
    (select col2,rownum r2
    from table2) b
    where a.r1 = b.r2
I think this would work. If you play with it more maybe you can even make it easier and more efficient

  • Using more than one Query in Crystal Reports

    Dear all,
we want to use two queries an combine them in one crystal report.
    How does this work?

    Sorry my mistake.
It IS possible to join results from 2 different BW queries.
What CR does not support is the join between BW data and relational data.
Still the best practice is to do the join in the database (eg. using an InfoSet)
How many rows do you expect to get from each query?

  • Documents Created Seen in more than one report globally

    Hi Experts,
I would like to know whether the documents can be created globally? such that they can be seen in more than one queries in common.
For better understanding my requirement is to know whether the documents can be created in such a way that they can be seen in common in more than one queries so that the business looking at one report should be able to see all the commentary/documents created on that particular Infoprovider. I hope I am clear in my question. Quick response is appreciated as this is an urgent requrement.
    Cheers,
    Sunitha.

    Hi,
I know the documents are created on the characterisitcs combinations, but my requirement is to get the documents that are created on more than one query. That is I should be able to see the documents in my query created on all the queries defined on the Infoprovider.
For that reason I am checking the document properties in RSA! to see whether the documetns are created on the query level or on the Infoprovider level.
As you told the documents are created on the characterisitcs level but I am not able to see the docuemtns icon ordocuments on the characterisitics in the BEX .
    Regards.

  • How to add more than 1 query in workbook

    Hi All,
How do we add More than 1 query in workbook, Can any one provide me steps.
    Thanks in Advance.

    Hi,
If you are using BI7 Bex analyazer, please check whether the following explanation helps you:
"Steps of creating workbook and to insert more than one query in a workbook.
•When you run a query and it opens in Bex Analyzer you can click the save button and pick "Save as Workbook".
•Once you save it as a workbook Click on the "Design Mode" button in the Bex toolbar (looks like an A).
•Click in the sheet where you want the new query to go, click the "Analysis Grid" button. It will add the analysis grid to your new sheet.
•Right click on the Analysis grid and go to properties.
•Click on button to change data provider and select the query you want to attach.
•Exit design mode and you should be all set. "

  • How do you have more than one parameterized Query to display "All"?

    hi,
    I am using:
    Jdeveloper 9.0.5.2
    Oracle Database 9.2.0.1
    Toplink
    Struts
I have been able to create a parameterized query to display an html read only table.
I populated a dropdown list with values from the database
and the values I select will be the parameters to my read only table.
The drop down list is on the same page as the read only table.
I have all this working but I also need to hard code an option in the Drop down to "All"
to represent all values of this parameter.
I was able to trick the jsp page using two read only tables
and displaying the one with the parameterized query when a parameter other than "All" was chosen
and then display the other only when "All" was chosen.
This does not seem the best way to do it.
What if I had more than one parameter and I wanted to show "All"
the values of one and a certain values for another.
I would then need at least 4 read only tables.
How do I accomplish this in an easier way?
    Thanks in advance.

I am not exactly sure what you are asking... Are you having trouble with TopLink, or another part of your application?

Can any one give me clue ,how to find out which sub query returns more than one row in the following query .This is why smaller, simpler queries are easier to work with than huge ones - when something like this goes wrong smaller queries are much eaiser to debug. Unfortunately using smaller, easier-to-work with queries is not always an option
Ganesh is right - you will have to dissect the big query bit by bit until you find the offending subquery. If there is another way I would like to find out about it too.
The easiest way to do this is probably to use block comments to isolate parts of the query bit by bit until you find the offending part. If you carefully examine the subqueries you might be able to figure out which one is returning multiple rows without commenting everything
    Good luck!

  • Can we query more than one class in a call to .tmib

    Hi,
i am creating a utility to monitor the applications at run time using mib.any
body have an idea if we can query more than one class in one call to .tmib.
    thanks
    roopesh

That would be an interesting enhancement, perhaps using Embedded FML to
pack multiple MIB requests into one buffer.
Product Management makes all decisions about major enhancements, and it
is based on customer need, so that's where the requests should go.

    yes.
i am trying to devlop a utility which can monitor
applications at runtime.i wanted to make as less the
no of calls to tmib as possible but one class does
not give all the information so i need to query
    more than one.
    anyways thanks for the reply.

    Hi,
Are you trying to write a Tuxedo app health-check monitor utility.
A tuxedo client can make different calls to .TMIB service for different
    classes.
I don't think we can query more than one class in a single call.
Are you looking for something else??/

  • In a hierarchical query, is it possible for a row to have more than one immediate ancestor?

    Hi
    Question:
In a hierarchical query, is it possible for a row to have more than one immediate ancestor?
    Answer:
    No
    No?  Surely, it's yes?
    Thanks,
    Jason

As Frank pointed out already hierarhical most often means a tree (data structure) to deal with.
There must usually be just one boss (the root) in which case the answer is no.
    Something to read: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tree_(data_structure)
You can find out Solomon spoke about a generalization therein.
    Related to forum troubles:
If I login first thing after reaching forum, the behaviour is rather consistent - I'm allowed to post answers, otherwise ...
