Most of my pictures did not transfer

I recently got an iPad Air, and did a restore from iCloud  so that everything from my iPad 2 would transfer over.
Everything did except for most of my pictures.
How can I now transfer them from my iPad 2 to my new iPad Air?

The backup and restore should have copied them over. Are they particular ones that are missing e.g. recent, old ? Have you tried backing up the iPad 2 again and restoring to that ? Or have you tried copying your purchases over to your computer's iTunes and backing up and restoring via that ?
(An iCloud backup and restore won't necessarily copy everything over e.g. iTunes purchases will only potentially be restored if they are still in your country's store, and if they can be redownloaded in your country, and any of your own non-iTunes purchased music in the Music app and/or videos in the Videos app won't be restored.)

Actually that offer is for phones activated after Sept. 1, i.e. new phones.  The following is from this Apple webpage (at the bottom): Apple - iPhone 5s - Built-in Apps
iPhoto, iMovie, Keynote, Pages, and Numbers are free on the App Store for qualifying iOS 7 compatible devices activated as of September 1, 2013.

Sure-glad to help you. You will not lose any data by changing synching to MacBook Pro from imac. You have set up Time Machine, right? that's how you'd do your backup, so I was told, and how I do my backup on my mac.  You should be able to set a password for it. Save it.  Your stuff should be saved there. So if you want to make your MacBook Pro your primary computer,  I suppose,  back up your stuff with Time machine, turn off Time machine on the iMac, turn it on on the new MacBook Pro, select the hard drive in your Time Capsule, enter your password, and do a backup from there. It might work, and it might take a while, but it should go. As for clogging the hard drive, I can't say. Depends how much stuff you have, and the hard drive's capacity.  As for moving syncing from your iMac to your macbook pro, should be the same. Your phone uses iTunes to sync and so that data should be in the cloud. You can move your iTunes Library to your new Macbook pro
you should be able to sync your phone on your new MacBook Pro. Don't know if you can move the older backups yet-maybe try someone else, anyways,
This handy article from Apple explains how
How to move your iTunes library to a new computer - Apple Support''
don't forget to de-authorize your iMac if you don't want to play purchased stuff there
and re-authorize your new macBook Pro
time machine is an application, and should be found in the Applications folder. it is built in to OS X, so there is nothing else to buy. double click on it, get it going, choose the Hard drive in your Time capsule/Airport as your backup Time Machine  and go for it.  You should see a circle with an arrow on the top right hand of your screen (the Desktop), next to the bluetooth icon, and just after the wifi and eject key (looks sorta like a clock face). This will do automatic backups  of your stuff.

I Re cry bought an iPad Air 2 and the pictures from my original iPad air did not transfer. How do I get the pictures to transfer?

Restore the backup of the old iPad to the new one.   That should transfer camera roll photos.  If it didn't and you still have the old iPad, back it up to your computer using iTunes and restore that backup to the new iPad.

  • ITunes music files did not transfer afte rebooting OS software

    hi there
I had to reboot system 10.3 software- I was happy because I had everything backed up on a Lacie external drive that i had formatted as a bootable disk. So when my iBook came back from the repair shop with a new blank OS and asked me if I wanted to transfer files from another computer, I did, from the Lacie hard drive. Only my iTunes music did not transfer, and so far it seems like I have to import files one by one- I can not figure out how to import the whole lot of music files.
Additionally, all my other files, mostly Word, were imported with the "created on" date all set to 1970, for some reason. That is annoying; any ideas from anyone? Thank you very much

You transferred your library to your Mac a couple of years ago?
Or you have been using the Mac for a couple of years and just now transferred the library?

  • Some of the photos from iPhoto 5 did not transfer to iPhoto 08.  Why?

I recently upgraded to OS 10.5.8 and tried to transfer my photos which were on iPhoto 5 to iPhoto 08. Several of them did not show up. Why and how can I fix this problem? Thanks for your help.

OK, here's the long explanation. I backed up up using "Backup" software from OS 10.4.11 to a DVD, also did a backup to my iDisk using the same backup software.
Have you tried loading this backup to your new system?
I also have another Mac using the old OS 10.4.11 and iPhoto 5, which I used the backup DVD on and was able to transfer all the photos into it.
Will iPhoto successfully open that iPhoto library?
Then I used a SanDisk USB Flash Drive to copy the iPhoto file to the other computer with OS 10.5.8 and iPhoto 08 on it.
The best way is to connect the two systems together using a network or Firewire target mode and then drag the working iPhoto library intact as a single entity from the old system to the pictures folder of the new system
Many of the photos did not transfer.
How do you know? what do you see?
    Is that enough info?
    certainly is better
What else can I tell you?

i have done the update, but any apps that i have downloaded did not transfer.  where do i go to get them back on my homescreen?

you need to go to APP STORE, Then click on Purchased and you will see all the program which u can download from iCloud. I hope u made an account otherwise u will need to install everything again. The most important when u install a new iOS is to backup all your files first and then u can proceed installing the new one.

  • Upgraded from PE9 to PE12: ratings did not transfer on organizer

Upgraded from PE9 to PE12 and the ratings and tags did not transfer to the organizer - or maybe they are there, but I do not know how find.
I also upgraded from Vista to Microsoft 7. Do I need to uninstall the Vista version and reinstall,  or is there a different solution?

Upgraded from PE9 to PE12 and the ratings and tags did not transfer to the organizer -
When you installed PSE12 and opened the organizer, you should have been asked to convert your catalog. That would have created a new catalog with the contents of your old catalog; that old catalog being still available to PSE9. If, instead of letting the conversion automatically take place, you have simply imported your pictures into the new empty PSE12, the tags and captions are not recovered (unless you specifically 'wrote metadata to files' in the PSE9 organizer).
Now, use the menu file/catalog (Ctrl Maj C) and click on the  'convert' button. Check the option to show already converted catalogs. You should see your PSE9 catalog and start the conversion.

  • My Starbucks Passbook balance on my 4S did not transfer to my new 5S.

I bought a new iPhone 5 and gave my 4S to my daughter. The 4S had a $ balance on the Starbucks app from within Passbook. I had backed up my 4S to iCloud from within iTunes and subsequently "restored' my data to the new iPhone 5. My Contact, Calendars, Email, Music, Pictures were transerred to the 5 as expected. The apps stored on iCould had to be reactivated but no problem. HOWEVER, the Starbucks app from within Passbook (with a $ balance) did not transfer, even after signing in to the Starbucks app on the new iPhone 5. I lost the $ balance. The 4S was 'wiped' clean before giving it to my daughter, however she could briefly see the Starbucks balance on the phone once activated. I believe this Passbok platform is unique to each device and cannot be transferred. Conclusion: make sure your Passbook $ balances have been depleted before upgrading from a 4S phone to a 5. Comments???

Does the balance show up as zero in both Passbook and the Starbucks up or does it show up correctly in your Starbucks app on the new phone?  If the latter, you could try removing the pass from Passbook (tap i and then tap the trash icon) and then re-adding it from the Stabucks app (Go to Card tab and then tap Manage, then Add to Passbook).  Hope that helps.

  • HT204053 I recently changed ny Apple ID but it did not transfer over to my iCloud account. How do I change my iCloud ID? The login popup for iCloud will not go away so I cannot get into my iPad since it pops up as soon as I turn the device on.

I recently changed my Apple ID but it did not transfer over to my iCloud account. How do I change my iCloud ID? The password for the new Apple ID does not work since the iCloud default user name is imbedded in the login box. The login popup for iCloud will not go away so I cannot get into my iPad since it pops up as soon as I turn the device on and re-occurs every few seconds.

You have to go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, provide the password for the old ID when prompted to turn off Find My iPhone, then sign back in with the ID you wish to use.  If you don't know the password for your old ID, or if it isn't accepted, go to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID.  Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change.  Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address.  You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iPad on your device, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iPad when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud).  Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was.  Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.

  • I recently purchased a 4S. I now have 2 files in my iCloud both with my name. One from my 3gs and one from my 4S. The problem is the data history of all my games and 3rd party apps did not transfer over to my 4S. Is there a way to merge the two in icloud?

I backed up my 3gs to the iCloud and when I synced my 4S, it did not transfer my game histories or my 3rd party app histories. When I look at my iCloud storage, it shows both phones under the same name. Is there a way to merge them together in iCloud? I tried adding the account to my 4S but since they are both named the same, it says I already have that account added! Help!!

You can see what your iCloud storage is used for and delete any unwanted content at settings > iCloud > backup & storage > manage......

My files, photos, email files, software programs, calendar info, and all information did NOT transfer over to Mavericks (from Mt Lion).  How do I get all my stuff to appear when using Mavericks?
    My email did transfer over.
    Thank you.

First click on the Apple > Logout and Log back in or restart the unit see if that solves it.  If it doesn't do you have a backup of your system prior to upgrade?  Check Disk Utility and see how much space is being used to make sure the drive wasn't somehow erased.
