Motion tween not quite smooth?

http://www.pauljohngroup.com/new/group.php
Above is a flash image slideshow i've created, I ramped up
the FPS to 24ish in an effort to make the tween smooth.
Is it more or does the movement seem a bit juddery and rough?
Is this my imagination or is it not as smooth as it could be?
Thanks for your time.

Hi,
Please try this ... go to library and check the property of
all the images ... there must be an option of smooth ... choose
that option so that rotation can be smooth ... let me know if this
works.
Thanks

  • Motion Tween not working

What would cause a motion tween not to work. I am using
graphics for both keyframes and it is showing an arrow on my
timeline, but its not gradually making it bigger. Just small,
small, small, and then big all of the sudden. I tried doing the
same tween earlier on the timeline and it worked fine, so it is
something with this frame. I have all other layers hidden and I
don't see anything else on this layer. But if I did have something
I think Flash would give an error message and a dotted line on the
timeline, so I don't think that's it. Any other ideas?

  • Basic Motion Tween not working?

I created a graphic symbol in Illustrator and copied-and-pasted it into Flash. I placed a keyframe further in the Timeline and scaled the symbol down on that frame. I went back to the first frame and right clicked on it and chose to create motion tween, though nothing visually happened between the first frame and last one like it did in previous versions, and the the symbol did not not animate. What did I do wrong?
    Thanks.

Adobe has made it a wild goose chase. For me, it only works if I don't have a second keyframe. Baffling, why should it behave so differently than classic tweening?!
People like me have been hitting their heads against the wall for years trying to get this to work. Absolutely asinine.
For the record and to repeat my huge gripe, it behaves nothing like classic tweening, where you define an end point and then "tween" between them. You can end up doing that, but you can't create the tween between two existing keyframes (even if they have the exact same single object in them).
So this is what's working for me now:
1 - Create a timeline layer with one single object in an initial keyframe (black dot indicates a keyframe). No more than one object can be tweened in one layer, but Adobe will not give you any userful feedback about this while you're working.
2 - On that layer, farther out in the timeline where there are no frames (what is the name for these "non-frames"?), right click where you want the tween to end, and select "Insert frame". (You'll have a black dot keyframe, a row of grey empty frames, and white box as a blank keyframe.
3 - Right click anywhere on the active part of that timeline and choose "Create Motion Tween", even though there is nothing to tween yet. After you do this, the span of frames should turn blue and the blank keyframe white box should disappear. Congratulations, you've created your first motion tween, but Adobe doesn't want you to know that. You need to actually go to individual frames and move the object around to get tweening to happen, as I outline in steps 4 and 5. Assuming your object is where you want it in the starting position, I would recommend going to the last frame to determine the final position next. Then you can do any number of middle positions (each frame can have a new position).
4 - (optional step, helps with positioning on the timeline) Scrub the timeline and find a frame where you want the trajectory of your object to change (at the very minimum, you'll want to move the object for one frame, otherwise there will be no motion)
5 - Move the object on the stage.
6 - Repeat 4 and 5 for as many frames as you want.
If you're not seeing motion paths that chart the motion, play with the little buttons on the bottom of the timeline, such as Onion Skinning. Lastly, just move the playhead left and right. If you're not seeing your object move, then blame Adobe some more, because this is far from immediately intuitive.

  • Motion tween not working - CS5

I created a symbol, placed it on the timeline, made a copy and moved it to another place on the timeline, clicked in the middle and selected motion tween. It shows a motion tween on my timeline, but when I move the playhead, there is no animation, just a start state and an end state. Help, please!

should only be the symbol on that layer, there should be no other object, be careful, a single point can do not work
If you copy the symbol in the time line then use "Create Classic Tween"
to use "Create Motion Tween" just right click on the frame in the timeline (without copying anything in the timeline) and select "Create Motion Tween", position the playhead at the frame you want and move the position of symbol

  • Motion tween not working when tested

  • Sick of my tweens not being smooth. What is the secret?

I am not understanding why a simple alpha tween is staggering
my processor every time and just making the tween seem slow and not
    smooth.
I basically have a black movie clip that covers my screen,
and i want it to fade up. I've tried using mctween for this and on
the timeline, and it doesn't seem to make a difference.
the fact that it's large shouldn't really matter, cause it's
    all vector.
i feel like on some high end flash sites, i see really nice,
smooth tweens all the time. But why is it that mine seem so far
    away from that?
I've looked at cacheasbitmap, but is that the answer? My
frame rate is 30...and I don't have all sorts of animation at the
    same time.
What are the tricks to get just really smooth tweens?
    Thanks.

what if you just use a plain vanilla tween:
    import mx.transitions.Tween;
    var myTween:Tween = new Tween(mc, "_alpha",
    mx.transitions.easing.None.easeNone, 100, 0, 1, true);

  • Motion tween- arrows not appearing, tween not working! please help?

I select where I want my motion tween to be, ctrl-click and select 'create motion tween'. It appears blue, and does not come up with an error message but no arrows appear like in the video's and the motion tween has not worked. Any ideas why? Also, I opened up a file that already had a motion tween in it (made by somebody else) to test it. I selected the motion tween and clicked 'remove tween' and straight away clicked 'create motion tween' again- to put exactly the same motion back into it, but the same thing happens- the selected area appears blue but no motion tween. Then, if I select it again, the option is 'remove motion' not 'remove tween' as before. A little complicated and could really use some help! Thanks!

Thanks very much for the help. Classic tween has worked, the arrows have appeared and the figure moves but the shapes do not move around their anchor points and go all over the place before suddenly appearin in the right position on the very last frame. This is a screenshot of what i see on the second to last frame:
And this is the last frame:
I made sure all the anchor points were in the right place beforehand, any ideas why the shapes wont move right?
    Thanks.

  • Motion Tweening Components - Will Not Work

I've been using Flash for a few weeks and have scoured and
scoured, trying to solve what I'm sure will turn out to be a small
    issue I'm over looking.
Basically, I have buttons, scrollpanes, and FLVPlayer
components on my stage, in separate layers that work fine when they
are on the keyframe that I add them to initially. However, I want
to animate these components moving in and out of the stage (see
www.rossmnewton.com for an example). So I make new keyframes before
and after the keyframe I added the components on, copy the
components, move to the other keyframe, paste in place, move it,
then create a motion tween, and the animation works fine. The
problem is, no matter what I do though, my buttons, scrollpanes,
and any other component, will fail to work as soon as I apply a
motion tween to them. Instantly, they stop working. And I can't
figure out how to animate these types of components without
    breaking them.
What am I messing up here? Can you not motion tween buttons
moving around? Or an FLV player?
And I notice that it creates "Tween 1", "Tween 2", etc.,
objects of type Graphic in the Library.

    Hi,
The Sample Calendar component download has been fixed for Update 7.
    http://developer.sun.com/prodtech/javatools/jscreator/reference/codesamples/samplecomps/calendar.html
Also, the source is available and also is valid.
Please read the brief instructions in NOTES.txt
To build the source, you'll need to use ant
    http://ant.apache.org
Then , in the build.xml file included in the zip, correct
the creator.home property setting to point to the installation directory of Creator.

  • Motion tween created not works after exporting, but works in TEST MOVIE(ctrl+enter)

I am using adobe flash cs4 and actionscript3
my project consists several different layers using classic motion tween option available in flash cs4
my project works fine when I test the movie using Ctrl+Enter
but after exporting my animation remains stationary
If any one knows how to solve this please do reply me. It will be very helpful to me
Even it is a simple setting please do reply me .
    It is very urgent.
    thank u in advance

Are you using any ActionScript at all or is it all just motion on the timeline?
If you're not using any AS then you can try to add a little to force it to play. Just add a new layer at the very top. Click on the first frame (which shoudl be a keyframe - if it's not make it one) and press F9. This will open your Actions window. In the window type "play();" (without the quotes). Not sure if that will work or not but it's worth a try!
If you are using AS make sure you don't have a stop(); action anywhere that's not being controlled.
    Good luck!

  • Motion tween is not running in the main scene

    Hi guys,
I made a short movie at the beginning of my project and afterwards I made a symbol-movie clip with many motion tweens (at the end of the symbol animation I put stop(); ). Now I have a problem - how should I insert my symbol-movie clip after my first short movie? To one frame or to more ones? I have tried some ways but I have not found the solution - the symbol-movie clip is not ruuning in my main scene.
    Thank for any help.

If your movieclip is a self-contained animation, then it only needs to occupy one frame of whatever timeline it is in.  If the intention is to have it play at the end of your short movie, then it should reside in the last frame where that movie is.  If you show a screenshot of what you have it might be easier to understand what you have.

I had similar problems, it was a nightmare and on a 3 month ipod too!. I use a Powerbook G4 at home and a G5 at work - both were returning the same problems. so I sent it off to apple, they quickly sent it back saying there was nothing wrong with and it didn't need to be repaired. I tried it again and the same problems occurred "disc cannot be written to or read from." I could copy 20 songs onto it at the very most. A couple of guys at my work suggested updating it on a PC, then adding tunes via my mac as normal - guess what!? it works a treat!?. How ridiculous is that!? an Apple product works best on a PC. these generations of ipods are obviously designed to work best on Intel based Macs. What is wrong Apple? are you abandoning the G-generation!? still, atleast my ipod works for now - it will prove a problem when I have to update the iPod's software since I don't own a PC or an intel-based Mac.

  • Flash cs3 "Motion tweening will not occur on layers with ungrouped..."

I am getting the error message: flash cs3 "Motion tweening will not occur on layers with ungrouped shapes or on layers with more than one group or symbol"
I have only one symbol in the layer, a graphic.
Does anyone know how I can correct the "problem"?
    Thanks in advance.
    karen.

as the above poster mentioned I am guessing you have more than one object on that layer. you may have created a symbol from a shape and not selected the stroke.. that is pretty common.
to verify what is on a particular keyframe do a "select all" cntrl-a or cmd-a. maybe you will see more than one item selected.
look at the properties panel. if you have only one thing it will note the symbol or it will say "mixed".
perform this test in the first and last keyframe.

  • Motion tweening magnitude of change- not what i want to happen

I created an animation of a wildfire progression which includes 31 hourly perimeters showing the fire spreading. I created motion tweens 24 frames long for each perimeter and tweened the alpha from 0% at the beginning of the tween to 100 % at the end of the tween.  Each tween is the same number of frames, and same frame rate, and all in the same scene. when the animation starts each perimeter is displayed for about 1 second, by the time the animation reaches near the end, the perimeters and durations are almost 6 seconds long.  I want each to display for the same amount of time.  It looks like the tween is adjusting its length to accommodate for the magnitude of change occurring in the scene.  I have no idea why this is happing and can't find any properties that are different that would cause this.  anyone have any ideas or experienced this problem?

I noticed that when I play the movie the frame rate slows down at the end. (space bar + enter) I set the fps to 12, but when the movie reaches the last 100 frames, the frame rate varies from 1.8 to 4.8 to 6. how could this be, if the entire movie is set to 12fps?

  • CS6: Do Eases have to be re-added for each Motion Tween? Project-wide not possible?

    Hi All
Unless I'm missing something, this is a very odd feature.
I created a custom ease to use on multiple motion tweened objects, but when selecting the second motion tween, the custom ease I created for the first was nowhere to be seen. Do I really have to recreate Custom eases, or re-add preset ones for every single motion tween? If so, this is going to get both very tedious and also error-prone as the number of objects increases.
    Any help appreciated!
    Thanks
    Richard

you should create a custom preset (window>motion preset).  that custom preset can then be applied to multiple objects multiple times with minimal effort.
