Move a digital signature

I have signed a document, in 3 locations and would need to move the signature. How can I select and move the signatures to the correct field?
Most helpful thing I found was that I can clear them.
Mac  Adobe Acobat X

Thanks Dave I was afraid that was the situation. As you probably already know, I mean to only move/edit my own signature.
Recent years there has been a trend of people sending me long confidentiality agreements to sign, before even booking me for billable work. With how poor the economy has gotten employers ethics have gotten bad. Why give my paperwork and contracts to fill out without even a promise of work, just to stock up a stable of freelancers. And when they do they email them, there are no form fields in their contracts so I have to make them. I also got rid of my land line as many people did so no fax, so this is why I try to sign them digitally.
The add/edit text box feature I never noticed in previous versions has been great. If more people knew how to create forms, the world would be a better place.
After clearing digital signatures, can I atleast delete the empty fields?

  • How to move a Preview digital signature?

I made a digital signature in Preview to use to sign pdfs. I did this on my Air because that has a camera (you have to take a picture of your signature). I want to move this digital signature I made on the Air to Preview on my Mac mini (where I don't have a camera) so I can use it there, too. I don't see an obvious way to do it. I tried copying pref files over and that didn't work. Any ideas about how I can do it?

Thanks Linc, that worked perfectly. It's pretty tortuous for a non-techie like me, but follow it carefully and it does work - though I'd recommend looking at the comments underneath, because there's a bit of trickery to get the Preview Signature Privacy to show up (or at least there was for me). I am now busily digitally-signing every pdf I can find. No doubt the novelty will wear off eventually.

  • Update on 10.6.8 fails due to digital signature on update is missing

wanting to install the Parallels version 10 and it won't work on 10.6.8 version of my Mac OS so I learned how to go to the software update which indicates an update is available. When I go ahead and load the update it runs fine and then stops with a message that the Macbook Pro EFI Firmware Update can't be saved. It says the digital signature on the update is missing or invalid.
I don't know if the digital signature is on my computer or the update? I would upgrade to a more recent version of the OS but don't know what will work.
    Can anyone help?
    Dan

Parallels 10 isn't compatible with 10.6 according to the web site.
    Mac Requirements
    Hardware:
A Mac computer with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7, or Xeon processor (Core Solo and Core Duo processors are no longer supported)
Minimum 2 GB of memory (4 GB of memory is recommended to run Windows 7 in a virtual machine or if your host OS is Lion)
About 850 MB of disk space on the boot volume (Macintosh HD) for Parallels Desktop installation
About 15 GB of disk space for each virtual machine
    Software:
OS X Yosemite 10.10 or later
OS X Mavericks 10.9.4 or later
Mac OS X Mountain Lion 10.8.5 or later
Mac OS X Lion 10.7.5 or later
Check that your computer is compatible with Mountain Lion/Mavericks/Yosemite.
To check the model number hold down the option/alt key, go to the Apple menu and select System Information.
MacBook (Late 2008 Aluminum, or Early 2009 or newer) model number 5,1 or higher
MacBook Pro (Mid/Late 2007 or newer) model number 3,1 or higher
    Your Mac needs:
OS X v10.6.8 or OS X Lion already installed
2 GB or more of memory (More is better - 4 GB minimum seems to be the consensus)
8 GB or more of available space
Check to make sure your applications are compatible. PowerPC applications are no longer supported after 10.6.
    Application Compatibility
    Applications Compatibility (2)
    Do a backup before installing.
If you can/do upgrade, I recommend you make a copy of the installer and move it out of your Applications folder. The installer self-destructs. The copy will keep you from having to download the installer again.  You can make a bootable USB stick to install using this free program.

Note - Mavericks is no longer available.

  • Digital signature process has not been completed yet

    Hi Everyone
One more issue today. we had digital signatures process for couple of our statuses in DMS and later part of the project they were revoked due to various reasons.
Now we move the status of the approved document  i.e. RL (Released) to NE( Initial status) and made the changes to the same document. When DIR status changed from NE to AP( for approval, previously we had digital signature active for this status) we are having issues and not allowing further to change the status (Message appears as "Status does not allow you to change certain data")
Is there any way I can change the status of the DIR? I can't copy this document and create a new version for many reasons.
    Appreciate your quick response.
    Regards
    Prasad

    Hi Athol
Thanks for your promt reply. We had to revoke deigital signatures as we have introduced new work flow system I.e. CENIT which is affliated to SAP... So approval process is tracked and done in that system, so it updates DIR In SAP whenever document is approved in that system. Cenit work flow is implemented through PLM 7.0 Net weaver business client.
So please let me know if we you have any suggestion to change the status of the documents.  We wanted to obsolete these DIR's as we have created new versions.

  • Digital Signatures macro

I was using Macro Express Pro to do the digital signatures in Acrobat 9. (It takes too long without a macro when signing multiple docs.)
I had it working great in Acrobat 9, but Acrobat X changed that. (almost have it working, but one last glitch)
Does anyone have a solution to speed up this process?

I am signing documents using digital signatures. Using Macro Express Pro, I am using two macros.
Macro1 allows me to place the signature field using these keystrokes...
Alt+V+T+S, F6, down, down, down, down, down, down, down, Enter
At this point I need to click and drag a rectangle to place digital signature field with the mouse. I ended the Macro1 here to allow user input for mouse move. (do not know if Macro Express can pause for user input )
After using the mouse to place the field on the document, the "Sign Document" dialog box appears to enter the password.
With the "Sign Document" dialog box open, I now invoke Macro2 to enter my password and sign and save. Macro2 does these keystrokes...
    <TAB><TAB>password<TAB><TAB><TAB><TAB><ENTER><TAB><TAB><ENTER>y
Macro2 tabs thru the "Sign Document" dialog box to the password field, types my password, tabs to the SIGN button and clicks (enter) the SIGN button.
The SIGN button brings up the "Save As" dialog box and Macro2 tabs to the SAVE button and click (enter) it. Because it is replacing a document, another dialog box asks to confirm.
I am no Macro Express Pro expert, but the Macro2 has a glitch on the "Save As" box.
Macro2 gets to the "Save As" dialog box and has a problem. I think the problem is with the macro, not Acrobat X, but like I said it was working in Acrobat 9.
I have never used javascript, but am williing to take a look.
    Thanks,
    Bill

  • Replacing the Acrobat logo in digital signatures

I am using Adobe Acrobat X Pro 10.1.8 on a Macintosh.  When I create a digital signature, there is a checkbox option in the "Configure Signature Appearance" window (under Acrobat->Preferences->Security->Digital Signatures) which, when checked, displays the Acrobat logo in my digital signatures.  Is there a way I can replace that logo with my corporate logo, made suitably transparent in a PDF like I have for a scanned version of my wet-ink signature?  In this way, I can create various versions of my signature for personal use (with just my transparent scanned wet-ink signature) and corporate use (with both my transparent scanned wet-ink signature on the left and my transparent scanned corporate logo on the right and other information like reason for signature, location, contact email, etc.).  After all, since the document is a PDF, it's already obvious it's Adobe Acrobat.  What isn't obvious is who signed it and who the signer is affiliated with (i.e., me and my company, not Adobe).

I don't have an answer for you, but something to think about. When working with signatures, it's very important (in my view) to move away from judging ANYTHING by looking at the page. That's the old "wet signature" way.  A PDF page could have any icon, name, signature, or convincing text. What really matters is validating the signature and confirming it really is signed by the trusted authority you hope it is. Anything fancy on the page just distracts from that.

  • Using Digital Signatures in a PDF File | Acrobat X | Adobe TV

This video details how to use the new Sign & Certify panel for digital signatures, including the new Time Stamp Document tool, in Acrobat X Std. and Pro.
    http://adobe.ly/yDHBdn

I wanted to add a scanned pdf signature to a W-9 form, and I changed the preference in Security as you suggested, but the new icon in the top tool bar is grayed out, as are all the choices within the Sign & Certify drop down. I watched movies, and looked at forums, and no one has this grayed-out issue. I have been trying to figure this out for an hour, and everything I find is a dead end.

  • Digital Signatures getting lost when page presence set to hidden

    HI All,
My project uses a multi page PDF which has signature fields in different pages. Because of performance issues i am showing only one page at a time and using navigation buttons to browse through pages. So when the PDF loads it displays Page1 and i sign the Digital Signature field and Click the next button which has event like
    Page2.presence="visible";
    Page1.presensce ="hidden";
Now page2 is visible and if i move back to the Page1, the digital signatures are lost.
But if i dont click the button , and save the PDF, the signature field is retained.
I am not sure how can i retain the signature in this scenario
Any help on this greatly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.

What viewer are you using for showing the PDF?

  • Digital Signature - Auto-Populate Multiple Signature Fields

    Hello,
I am in the process of testing digital signatures with PDFs.  I have a Topaz Signature Pad working in conjunction with Acrobat 9 and Reader 9 so that I can insert digital signatures with no problems.
We are wanting to take this a step further and streamline a particular business process.  Does anyone know of a way to have a digital signature auto-populate multiple designated signature fields?  We have about 15 documents that require an employee signature in multiple places and rather than having someone sign a document over and over again, we'd like the option for a single signature that auto-fills in all the required signature fields.
This doesn't necessarily have to work with Topaz Signature Pads.  I am completely open to other suggestions, products or methodologies for making this work as long as something can be automated to auto-fill multiple signature fields.
    Many thanks to the forum!
    Regards,
    Geoff

    Hi Geoff,
Maybe there is no need to re-inent the wheel. Auto-population of forms is a feature of SignDoc - se http://www.signplus.com/en/products/signdoc/features.php#Form_Preparation
Auto-filling of forms is requirement which can be achieved through various processes.
In combination with Adobe LiveCycle this is executed in the case study of Adobe/SOFTPRO.

    http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/showcase/index.cfm?event=casestudydetail&casestudyid=762388&l oc=en_us
However there are also other ways to move forward depending on the envrionment you are using.
If you are based in the US you may want to get in touch with Rod Vesling SOFTPROs E-Signature Specialist, based in CA near LA, for a chat. His office phone is 805 435 1214. His email is [email protected]
Depoending on the deice of Topaz you are usinfg you may start right away as quite a decent number of Topaz tablets are supported by SignDoc. However the best idea might be to give Rod a ring and idscus your business requirements in detail.
    Kind regards

  • Print or Submit Depending on if PDF has digital signature

    hello everyone!!
i have a quick question and please let me know if i am posting this in the wrong area.
i have a pdf form created in Acrobat 7 but we need to reader rights enabled so I have since them downloaded acrobat pro 9 and revamped it.  it works great for those who have reader to give them the ability to fill it out and send it back as the complete PDF.  however, what i would like to do is have a "submit" button that checks to see if the document has a digital signature.  if it does, i want it to submit to an email address.  If it does not have a digital signature, I want the button to print the form so the user can sign it and send it in.  I have searched the web and unfortunately haven't found much on this.  My question is:  is this even possible?  If it is, could someone point me in the right direction or give a few tips on how to start.  any info at all would be greatly appreciated!!
    Thanks much!
    Mandy Sky

Well thanks to the folks who took a look at this post....I've gotten no replies and need to move on...
Since I have posted this, I have found that it is possible so I'm going to try and muddle my way through it.
    Cheers~

  • Digital signature/appending question

Got a question for y'all. I work with a medical practice who just started using Acrobat 9 to affix digital signatures to their documents. Using Acrobat, they've created a page that can be filled in with information about a patient, and then digitally signed by the doctor.
Here's the thing. We just got done scanning all of the patient charts for this practice and converting then to PDFs. So now, all the charts are electronic. Each chart is divided into seperate tabs (Patient Info, Treatment Plan, etc.). After a doctor fills out the page they've created and then digitally signs it, we would then like to save it and then append it to the corresponding tab in that patient's chart (in this case, Pateint Info). Using Acrobat, filling it out, signing it and saving it is no problm, it's when we append it that the problem surfaces.
After it's appended, the signature goes away! What can we do about this? Obviously, we don't want that signature going anywhere. Any ideas? Please help, we'd like to get this solved ASAP!

Thanks for the link! However, there is something new that has recently arisen:
Every time a patient comes into the office for an appointment, a new page is added to certain parts of the chart (such as Progress Notes) detailing their last visit. Now that all the charts are electronic, this can be done on a computer. So, for a section like, say, Progress Notes, there's all the old charts organized with the most recent one on top. However, that's not the very first page-the very first page is a blank progress note, ready for the patient's next visit.
All they want to be able to do when they fill out a chart is, after it's saved, have it go on top of the chart (as it's now the most recent page) and have a new blank page appear, ready for the next visit. It's like inserting a blank page, but they don't want to do that-they simply want a new blank page to appear and move to the front on top of the most recent page.
Does this make sense? I really could use some help ASAP!

  • Transfer of Digital Signature Files

I've transferred my copy of Acrobat 7.1 Standard to another computer and I want to copy over my digital signature file. I can't find the file on my old computer. Could someone tell me how I can move a signature file to another computer?
    Jerry Judd

Assuming you are talking about your digital ID, you can search for files with suffix .pfx or .p12. These are the files types that contain you digital ID certificate. If you find the desired file, move it to you new computer. Then import using Advanced > Security Settings and push the Add ID (+) button.
If you are talking about signature appearance files that is different. It's probably easier to recreate on your new computer, depending on what it's setup is (usually, it is just a matter of clicking some checkboxes to configure). Edit > Preferences > security panel.

    Hi,
    Check the blog below:
Use tasks to maintain your workflow state. Each approval adds a task for the signer. There is a workflow action to handle this for you. When the task is done, it moves to the next step.
Use the Wait action to have your workflow pause until a change is made. You would have a column for each signer. When the column is filled in, the workflow continues with the email for the next signer.
Have a workflow that runs for each signing step. The workflow will be kicked off on item change. You will need a column for each signer again. The workflow will examine each column in order to determine what stage it is on and then email the appropriate person.
