Move a Excel 2010 Dokument Addin Project (Visual Studio 2012) to another devleopment machine with Visual Studio 2012 , but Office 2013

Hi
we do have the following situation
on computer A there is a Excel Document Addin development project , Visual Studio 2012, Office 2010 installed. All works fine.
we would like to bring the project to another machine with Visual Studio 2012, but Office 2013 installed.
Visual Studio can not build the project. It says that the application is not installed on the machine (though Excel 2013 is installed , but not Excel 2010) It seems to have a problem with the
vbproj.
In other forums I found a hint that "Hostpackage = ..} needs to be set accordingly in the vbproj. I created then a "empty Excel-Addin project" under Visual Studio , looked at
the Hostpackage entry, put that into the vbproj of "problem project. It still does not work.
It would be great if anyone could help.
Thomas

Hello Eugene
Problem is that it says that projectboard (the name of the main project) can not be loaded. All other projects in the solution can be loaded. Strange thing is , now that I try to create a empty excel Project it says that according to Excel security settings
it can not be generated !?
I opened then Excel and set all Trust Center settings to "Default" - but no effect. I really have no idea what is wrong ..!?

  • Known Issue: Do not install Visual Studio Express 2015 for Windows 10 on a Machine with Visual Studio Community, Professional, or Enterprise (Windows 10 Insider Preview SDK and tools, April 2015 release)

    If you install Visual Studio Express 2015 for Windows 10 on a machine with Visual Studio 2015 Community, Professional, or Enterprise, these editions will not work as expected.

    To resolve this, uninstall Visual Studio Express 2015 for Windows 10. Then, repair Visual Studio Community, Professional, or Enterprise.

    I've been to the apple store and they thought my camera was defective but I can input video with my canopus con verter with the s cable .  But it has no audio.  Imovie 6 recognized my sony movie trv 25 camera and I imported without a problem.  I can't find an rca to dv cable for this sony camera which would

    thanks,

    I do not know that camera, but with many, there is a set scheme for the connections, to get things to work. It seems to differ by make/model, but many have found that just by changing the order of turning things on, and invoking the Capture module, things will usually work.
    The connections are camera to computer via FW cable, then turn ON camera in proper mode, then launch PrE, then go to Capture. Users have found that their camera will require, say, plug-in, launch PrE, THEN turn ON camera, then launch the Capture module. As you can see, there can be variations in when one does each part of that chain, and it can make a difference. I would sit down with a pad and pencil, and test each possibility. If one works, that would be the scheme that I would then use.
    Good luck,
    Hunt
    PS - the only thing that I would NOT do would be to turn ON the camera, prior to connecting via the FW cable. That can cause big issues.

    I am using iMovie version 10.0.9 and created a project that I need to somehow move to another computer and continue editing in iMovie. How can I get a file that I can drop onto a drive and open up on another computer to continue editing? Exporting the movie is not an option, as you can no longer edit the movie. Thank you!

  • Visual Studio App Wizard won't install with Visual Studio 2005

    When I try run the Visual Studio App Wizard from the Acrobat SDK V8.1 on my PC it tells me 'Please install Visual Studio 2005 before install Acrobat 8 Plugin Wizard'. I have Visual Studio 2005 installed with SP1. I also have the .NET framework 2.0.50727 SP1 loaded. I see this same problem on two different PC's with the same software configuration loaded. Any known issues with that?

    I've never seen this happen. It's been a while since I last installed the
    v9 SDK and it's plug-in wizard, so I don't remember how the installation
    went.
    I do most of my plug-in work on the Mac, where there is no plug-in wizard,
    so I don't use it - not even on Windows. You do not need it to start a new
    plug-in: Just use either the Starter plug-in from the samples, or the
    BasicPlugin project. This will give you something that compiles and runs.
    Then do a few simple text replacements to give things the proper names and
    use that as your starting point. The wizard will give you a few more things
    in regards to HFTs, but it's not complicated or time consuming to do that
    by hand. The good thing about having to do this every now and then is that
    it keeps your memory fresh about how HFTs work.
    If you want to save yourself some time, create your own starter plug-in
    that you mark up with comments about what you need to replace and why - put
    all the stuff in that you usually need and then just use that every time
    you need to start a new plug-in. Setting up a plug-in framework is usually
    a very small portion of the time that you will eventually spent on the
    plug-in development, so using the wizard will not save you much in the
    overall development time.

  • Project file failing to open on different machine with same version of FCP

    i have been editing a documentary on my mac book, on an upgraded version of final cut studio two. i recently got an iMac, Intel Core 2 Duo, 2.66 GHz, and planned to continue editing the same project on this. i loaded fC studio to it, but when i tried to open my existing project file, it tells me that the project file's format is too new for the version of the application. but it's the exact same version!
    totally stumped.

    When you upgraded to the latest OS, do you mean from say Tiger to Leopard? If so and it wasn't done cleanly as an erase and install of that new OS, I'd suggest this could very well be the reason you're having problems...
    If you'd like you could send me a copy of this project file... [email protected] If I can open it, it's likely your install that's causing the problem, and the fix is to wipe your hard drive and start over, or get another drive to start up from that's cleanly installed.

  • OraOLEDB.Oracle Provider Not Found- Windows 7 64 bit Excel 2010 32-bit Help

    Currently, I have an excel 2010 application that users on Windows XP 32 bit are using to connect to an Oracle 32-bit database and extract data back into Excel. Each time they open the Excel file, the VBA code automatically creates a new connection using Provider =ORA.OLEDB.Oracle Provider. All users using the Excel file have installed Oracle 9.2.1 run-time client on their machine. All of that works well currently for over 100+ users on Windows XP 32-bit
    Starting very shortly our company is moving to Windows 7 64-bit. We acquired a test PC with Windows 7 64-bit and Excel 2010 32-bit. We tried to install Oracle 9.0.2 run-time client but we couldn't connect to the database ( even with Sql Plus). We therefore downloaded Oracle 10g 10.2.04 Run-time client. With this installed, we were able to connect to via SQL Plus to the database. However, using the same Excel file and the following same VBA code.
    Set cn = New ADODB.Connection
    cn.Open ThisWorkbook.getDBCon()
    Public Function getDBCon()
    getDBCon = "Provider=OraOLEDB.Oracle;" & _
    "Data Source=MyOracleDB;" & _
    "User Id=" & getDBUser() & ";Password=" & getDBPss()
    End Function
    I get a "Provider Not Found error". The VBA code and file work perfect in XP 32-bit. It seems going over to Windows 64-bit has caused issues with the file's macro. I am looking for help assessing if I have more of an Oracle Client issue or a Microsoft ADO issue. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thank You.

    @damorgan
    Yea agreed with Excel to Oracle comment. This is due to issues with global implementation of an ERP system and the disconnets between IT and Business. Therefore the business intelligence tables in oracle are most easily pulled and acted on by novice PC users via Excel. In the business, Excel is the standard tool novice non-IT people feel comfortable in to share and act on data. Most of these users have no IT knowledge whatsoever, so we create buttons and filters for them to query and then massage in Excel as they see fit.
    Having said that, still wondering if it's a ADO or Oracle Client issue. This is something beyond my knowledge. I wouldn't imagine it's the Visual Basic issue since this same file works in Windows XP. I am not in the position to just scrap Excel as the business relies on this in production and I am the only support. What could 64 bit vs 32 bit differences be having here? Thank You.

  • OpenXML Excel file, works in Excel 2007, OpenOffice, etc but not in Excel 2010

    Hi everyone,
    I have a problem.  I host a free website, sharing source code and ideas with other developers.  One of my projects is a very simple C# class, which generates an Excel 2007 .xlsx file.  All source code is provided, along with a demo showing
    how to use it, free of charge.  No registration required.
    http://www.mikesknowledgebase.com/pages/CSharp/ExportToExcel.htm
    The .xlsx files that this class generates are fine, they open in Excel 2007 & OpenOffice, I've run the OpenXmlValidator
    on the files, and there are no reported problems.
    However, If I open the file in Excel 2010 (with SP1), it opens, but if I go to the Print or Print Preview screen, Excel 2010 crashes.
    Googling around, I've found that many many users have experienced problems with HP print drivers, I followed some suggestions, such as turning off multi-threading in Excel, but it makes no difference.  I tried setting the default printer as
    the "Microsoft XPS Document Writer", but it made no difference.
    Here is a copy of the Excel file that my demo produces (and which crashes Excel 2010).   Can someone tell me why it opens okay, but then crashes Excel 2010 ?
    http://www.MikesKnowledgeBase.com/SampleCode/Sample.xlsx
    I can get around the problem by loading this file in Excel 2010, saving it as an ".xls" file (!!) and re-loading that... but it kinda defeats the purpose.
    And, more generally, why does Excel 2007, OpenOffice and the OpenXmlValidator consider it to be in the correct format, but it crashes Excel 2010 ?  I'm surprised that Excel 2010 doesn't at least attempt to report some kind of problem with the Excel
    file, rather than bombing out.
    Mike

    It seems Workbook.XML doesn't have all the information needed by Excel for pagination while prepare for print.
    Using your sample code, here is the XML generated for Workbook.XML part within Open XML package :
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
    <x:workbook xmlns:x="http://schemas.openxmlformats.org/spreadsheetml/2006/main">
      <x:sheets>
        <x:sheet name="Drivers" sheetId="1" r:id="rId1" xmlns:r="http://schemas.openxmlformats.org/officeDocument/2006/relationships" />
        <x:sheet name="Vehicles" sheetId="2" r:id="rId2" xmlns:r="http://schemas.openxmlformats.org/officeDocument/2006/relationships" />
        <x:sheet name="Vehicle owners" sheetId="3" r:id="rId3" xmlns:r="http://schemas.openxmlformats.org/officeDocument/2006/relationships" />
      </x:sheets>
    </x:workbook>
    Replace above content with below XML and print should work fine:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" standalone="yes"?>
    <workbook xmlns="http://schemas.openxmlformats.org/spreadsheetml/2006/main" xmlns:r="http://schemas.openxmlformats.org/officeDocument/2006/relationships">
      <fileVersion appName="xl" lastEdited="5" lowestEdited="5" rupBuild="9303"/>
      <workbookPr defaultThemeVersion="124226"/>
      <bookViews>
        <workbookView xWindow="510" yWindow="510" windowWidth="4455" windowHeight="2520"/>
      </bookViews>
      <sheets>
        <sheet name="Drivers" sheetId="1" r:id="rId1"/>
        <sheet name="Vehicles" sheetId="2" r:id="rId2"/>
        <sheet name="Vehicle owners" sheetId="3" r:id="rId3"/>
      </sheets>
      <calcPr calcId="0"/>
    </workbook>
    The change is not with data but few elements which define the view for Excel. The required code change can be found using Open XML SDK tool code-reflect.

  • BUG in Excel 2010 SUMIF & SUMIFS functions [EDIT: also AVERAGEIF & -IFS]

    I am quite certain that there is a bug in the implementation of the SUMIF function of Excel 2010. In certain special cases the function returns
    its evaluation argument instead of the correct result. This bug is reproducible in Excel 2010, but does not occur in Excel 2007 (or earlier, as far as I can tell).
    The SUMIF function accepts the arguments "Range", which is the range of identifiers which the function evaluates against; "Criteria", which is
    the criteria that defines which members of "Range" will be chosen to sum, and "Sum_range", which is the (optional) range of values to sum. "Range" and "Sum_range" do not need to reside on the same worksheet in order for the function to return correct results.
    This means that "Range" and "Sum_range" can refer to the same column of different worksheets, and this is where the bug occurs. As an example,
    say we have the formula =SUMIF(Sheet1!E:E;2;Sheet2!E:E). This will return 2 (i.e. the "Criteria" argument), regardless of which values are in column E of Sheet2. If we move the data in Sheet2 to column D or F, however, the same formula (e.g. =SUMIF(Sheet1!E:E;2;Sheet2!F:F)
    will return the correct result.
    I have just noticed that the same error occurs with the SUMIFS function.
    Bug resolution please? :)

    Hi!
    An alternative methd don't solve my problem. Although I state that the 32bit version of Excel 2010 is now corrected of this bug. I wonder why the 64bit version is not....  I have to work with large Excel files and with this king of bugs I can't get
    the most of 64bit Excel.
    I'm surprised that no alternative methods of calculation will work in Excel 2010 64-bit and be compatible with other versions.
    So what other functions do not work?
    I guess SUMPRODUCT also doesn't work when referring to a range in another workbook. That is one of the ways we used to get the same results as AVERAGEIF before that function became available in 2007.  There are also array formulas that can refer to
    other worksheets.
    Or is your problem solely related to not being able to use particular functions in Excel 2010 64-bit, and not to solving your calculation problem?
    Ron
    I've upgraded the Office version from 2007 to 2010 64bit and I want to use my earlier Excel files to calculate and update data that I need to use in another software.
    I noticed that the averageif and sumif formulas don't update their values if they refer to other worksheets or workfiles and after a web search I get to this forum.
    I inferred that these bugs were corrected for all versions of Excel 2010… that’s not the case!
    My workfiles are huge and I have to do calculations between workfiles and worksheets, update existing links, and so on… Excel 2010 64bit perform very well in
    my machine in terms of speed! But not with these bugs!!!
    Since I have not the time to redo all my previous work (done in Excel 2007) you can say that my problem solely relates to not being able to use particular functions
    in Excel 2010 64-bit!!! I have deadlines!!!
    I suppose that Microsoft would gladly thank its customers to report bugs of its products and would try to solve them! I guess wrong!!! Sorry for that!

  • Cannot open an Excel 2010 workbook by using Internet Explorer 8.0 in sharepoint 2010

    When am trying to open a Microsoft Office Excel 2010  workbook from a Web site by browsing to the location with Microsoft Internet Explorer 8.0, you cannot open the file. Instead, you receive the following messages:
    Some files can harm your computer. If the file information below looks suspicious, or you do not fully trust the source, do not open this file.
    Would you like to open the file or save it to your computer?
    If you click Open, you receive the following error message:

    After you click OK, you receive the following error message:
    Microsoft Excel cannot access the file 'http[s]://<var>Server_name</var>/<var>File_path</var>/<var>File_name</var>.xls' There are several possible reasons:
    The file name or path name does not exist.
    The file you're trying to open is being used by another program. Close the document in the other program, and try again.
    The name of the workbook you're trying to save is the same as the name of another document that is read-only. Try saving the workbook with a different name.

    does anyone know how to fix these two issues?

    Hello,
    Excel 2010 is not supported in CR 2008. It is in the next version of CR 2011.
    No option to not get sheets for more than 65k rows, limitation of Excel.
    Install CR 2008 SP 3, requires an uninstall first. Be sure to have your CR keycode available.

  • Word + Excel 2010 - Showing 'another user' on opening a file

    Hi,
    Bit of a odd question I would imagine but its quite a critical issue for us due to the nature of our work. All our employees have the latest Dell machines with Windows XP Pro and Office 2010 installed ... now we have a series of map drives (about 12) each
    having over 500,000 documents in (across various directories). Now when a user opens a document either in Word or Excel it goes ready only and produces the 'document can only be opened in read only' message.
    Now this is all normal, the bit that confuses me is 90% of the time it says 'document in use by another user' ... and 10% of the time, it will actually say the user who is in the document (using their logged in username) ...
    In short, what I'm getting at is, how can I make office applications, namely word and excel say who is in the file, rather than 'another user'. This used to work perfectly in Office 2003 but since the upgrade to 2010 it's stopped.
    Thanks
    Mike

    There is a public blog on file locking issues (http://blogs.technet.com/b/the_microsoft_excel_support_team_blog/archive/2012/05/14/the-definitive-locked-file-post.aspx).
    I would suggest the following:
    If you are seeing problems where the file is locked when double clicking from Windows Explorer, but the files open up correctly when opened in Excel or Word, do the following:
    Turn off the Preview Pane, Details Pane and pop ups that show information about file and desktop items
    This is a problem that has been reported to affect Windows 7 clients only, not Windows XP. The problem here may have something to do with the Windows Explorer in Windows 7. We are currently investigating this further and will post more information as it is
    available.
    In a Windows Explorer window, do the following:
    1. Right click on the Start Button.
    2. Click 'Open Windows Explorer'.
    3. At the top left click Organize > Layout
    4. Uncheck Details Pane and Preview Pane.
    5. On a Windows menu, click on Tools > Folder Options.  In the box that opens up, click on the View tab.  Scroll down the list to
    “Show pop-up description for folder and desktop items” and clear the checkbox and then click OK.
    If you are seeing issues where the wrong user name is showing up, there is a known bug on that and a fix:
    In cases where the wrong user name is displayed in the file lock dialog
    Sometimes where it says 'another user' it has the name of someone that didn't open the file or it has no name at all. Just a big ' ' where a name ought to be. Fear not, there is a fix for this problem. The flavor depends on
    whether you have Excel 2010 or Excel 2007. The below KB Articles contain hotfixes that address several issues, not just the file locked issue. But in the dialog of the article you will see this as one of the problem descriptions:
    Assume that you have an .xls file that is protected by Information Rights Management (IRM) on a network share. When you open the file in Excel 2007, a File In Use dialog box appears. However, the dialog box does not display the
    correct name of the user who locked the file. Therefore, you cannot edit the file.
    Understand that these fixes don't make the File in Use dialog go away, they just correct the problem of showing bogus user name information on the dialog itself.

  • CRM 2011& Office 2013 Excel Export

    Hi Forum,
    we are currently using a crm 2011 server (ru17) and have some clients with Windows 8.1 and Office 2013 with outlook addin (RU 17). For these clients we get in to trouble by exporting contacts or accounts as dynamic pivot spreadsheet.
    If the download window pop up, you can not directly open the file (instead with office 2010 it is possible). If you chose save (it is a xml file), you have to right click that file and chose excel. After Excel started you can't see the pivot.
    We tried to solve the issue with the following hotfix(without any luck): http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2883063/EN-US
    Maybe some has another idea how we can solve the problem ?

    You can use a custom timer job in SharePoint 2013 to be scheduled to run. This job could interact with your CRM system to import the entities to a folder or List in SharePoint. Andrew has a link here:

  • Does office 2013 install affect visual studio 2008

    had visual studio 2008 installed on the computer, 2 weeks ago I received office 2013 and now I get a PACKAGE LOAD FAILURE error

    Hi,
    Thanks for your post!
    lt difficult to detect the problem occurs because of Office 2013. You should give us more information.
    What's the details error of "PACKAGE LOAD FAILURE"?
    Frist, we should make sure if you can successfully install the VS:
    please use http://aka.ms/vscollect  to gather the installation logs. You will find vslogs.cab from %temp% folder. Please upload the file to
    https://onedrive.live.com/   and share the link here.
    Second, try to collect logs when you open the VS. You can use Devenv.exe Command Line to collect logs for troubleshooting:
    Create a log file (‘Devenv.exe  /log’ ) on your drive. If this issue exists still, you could invest your log file to narrow down the issue and please share the log to OneDrive.
    More information about Devenv.exe Command Line, you could refer the following link:
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-US/library/ms241273(v=VS.80)
    Also, you can follow up the pvdg42 advice, try to repair the VS to see whether the problem can occur.
