Move a watermark?

I need to place a watermark for a customer 20 pixels up from the bottom (lower right).  Is this possible in Aperture 3?

You can place a watermark in one of the corners or the center of your image. This is done in the "Edit" pane of the Export Presets.
To shift the watermark 20 pixels from the lower border you will have to add a transparent border to the watermark image in an external editor.

  • Any Way To Put A Saved Watermark You Created On All Your Images At Once?

I have a whole bunch of pictures that I wanted to put a copyright watermark on.  I created the watermark I in Photoshop and saved it.  Now, I am wondering if there is any way I can apply this watermark to all my images I have?  I know how to use the "Move" tool to move the watermark from its file to the image file, but I have hundreds of images, so it is going to take forever if there is not a quicker way.  Anyone know if there is a quicker way?  Thanks.

In the Actions palette, create a new action to record yourself adding the watermark to one of your images. When it's in place, save and close the image, then stop the Action. Now go to File=>Automate=>Batch. Select the action you just created and the folder containing the images you wish the watermark to be applied to. When you confirm, Photoshop will repeat what you did and apply a watermark to all your images in that folder automatically.

  • How to overlay a watermark onto many, separate, individual layers of an animation.

For theoritical purposes, let's say that I am building an animation and that I have 10 layers in this animation thus far.  Now, let's say that I would like a watermark to be overlayed on every single one of these individual layers.
The only way that I would know how to do this would be to make a layer with the watermark, duplicate it nine times so that there were a total of ten layers with the watermark and then painstakingly go about the process of merging one layer of the animation with with one layer of the watermark and then repeat this process nine more times.
Whenever this situation comes up, whether it is a watermark or a correction of some sort that belongs on ALL LAYERS and I do this the only way that I know how, I think to myself that with something as powerful as CS 5, there has GOT to be an more automated and easier way of going about this.
Would anybody happen to know what that way would be???
    THANKS !

Don't do it that way.  Do it as JJMack suggested.  You don't want to merge all those layers.
You do not seem to understand how frame animations work.   There is no destruction you have one logo watermark layer on top of the stack that is visible in all frames.. The only merging done is in the animation frames. The PSD is stil your layered document with nothing merged with a watermark as the top layer.  Using Photoshop tween option you could even have Photoshop move the watermark across the animation. in the psd the is just a single un-merged watermark layer.

  • More "flexible" watermarking?

I do portraits of show animals.  Which means I want to "sign" my images with a small signature in different spots depending on the particular image.  In LR5, I can place a watermark on an image, but I haven't been able to figure out how to adjust it without creating a NEW watermark.  After doing this enough times, I end up with a couple dozen water marks that all have the same content, but are in very slightly different places.  And, of course, I haven't come up with a way of naming them so I can find exactly which one sits in exactly which spot...
Is there any way to make the positioning of the watermark more flexible, so I can just move it where I want, then export the image WITHOUT having to create a new watermark every time?
Yes, I can VERY easily do this in Photoshop by just dropping a signature with a transparent-background layer on the image, but it seems silly to have to go into Photoshop JUST to put a signature watermark on an image...
    Ideas?

    Dave,
I do this by having a single Signature Watermark preset that I update each time. Since my signature is almost never going to be in the same place on any image, I don't worry about saving it from export-to-export.
Create a Signature Preset called Floating Signature.  When you are ready to export, invoke Floating Signature. Launch the editor. Move the watermark to where you desire and then Select Update Preset "Floating Signature" from the pulldown at the top left of the Watermark Editor.  It will allow you to use the modified watermark without ending up with many slightly different watermarks.
Not as elegant as you might like, perhaps but it does keep you from getting a big list of slightly-different watermarks, and avoids going to Photoshop.

  • Difference between paste and add to movie

What's the difference between paste and add to movie?

So more than one track can exist in the same location. A very confusing (to me) editing process.
Yes, the MOV file con contain up to 99 tracks of data. For instance, if two or more video tracks coexist over the same time interval, they may be layered, masked and/or blended for various effects such as a framed movie, a movie-in-a-movie, movies with grapic logos, movies with watermarks, etc. In a similar manner, multiple audio tracks can be blended together. (E.g., a narration can be added over background music to a base move that already has its own audio track.)
Here is an a example of a "mulitple" track MOV file created from many a background/Xmas card foreground image and many scaled PNG photo images of family members:

  • Watermark size issues

    Hi guys!
I do a lot of watermarking for the images on my website an created an action for that.
    What I did:
    place watermark
    slect both layers
    align left and bottom
move the watermark layer up and to the right with the arrow keys (padding from the side of the picture)
Before I apply this action to my images I make them all 930 pixels in width with the original ration, so the height varies.
When I apply the action to my images, on some of the images the watermark shows up just fine (like I created the action) but on some of them the watermark shows up very small or to large.
Why on earth would that happen? it is very annoying.
Do you guys know what Im doing wrong?
    Thanks!

I think you'll find that the documents have various resolutions (ppi/ppcm).
When the watermark is placed at "correct" size, the document will have the resolution of the one with which you recorded the Action.
When the watermark is placed too small or too big, the document will have a greater or lesser resolution than the one with which you recorded the Action.
Make the first step of your Action be to set the document resolution to the specific ppi/ppcm which produces the correct result when the watermark is placed. That can be done with 'Image > Image Size'. Be very careful to clear the Resample Image checkbox in the Image Size dialog so that the only thing recorded in the Action step is the new resolution.
Alternatively, set the resolution of the documents at the same time as you resize them to their width of 930 pixels.

  • How to make color tone like this?

I'd like to find out how to make similar "color tone" effect like this:
    http://www.horror-movies.ca/watermark.php?filename=poster_THE_SITTER_2D_ORING.jpg
I'm talking about those striking "artificial" skin tones you can see on many movie posters (or advertising/fashion posters). For example:
    http://www.impawards.com/2008/posters/curious_case_of_benjamin_button_ver3.jpg
    http://www.impawards.com/2008/posters/tropic_thunder_ver4.jpg

    http://www.impawards.com/tv/posters/dexter_ver2.jpg
    http://www.impawards.com/2008/posters/hellboy_two_ver2.jpg
I don't know how to describe it (sorry, english is not my first language), but I like the way the color on the skin affects only certain tones. I hope you understand what I'm talking about :) I tried to play with layer blending (BW + color balance of shadows)... but I never manage to do something like this. I suppose it has to be a common technique, sice I see it on so may posters and photos. Does anybody have some advice? Thanks!

    Alan,
The links you posted seem to suggest the effect you are after may be the result of luminance masking, perhaps coupled with a knockout layer to protect the eyes. Try this procedure:
    (a) Duplicate the background layer CTRL + J (and perhaps rename it Blur as that helps to emphasise the purpose of the new layer).
    (b) With the new Blur layer active, from the Menu bar choose Filter/Blur/Gaussian blur about 20% for starters each image may require slight variations to this amount.
    (c) Turn off the visibility of the new Blur layer and select/make active the Background layer.
    (d) Go to Channels Palette and CTRL click on the Red channel. Return to the Layers Palette. Turn visibility of new Blur layer back on and select it.
    (e) With the new Blur layer active, click the Add layer mask button at the bottom of the Layers Palette this adds the Luminosity Mask to this layer and results in seeing the Gaussian blur now only inside the lightest (50%) details of the image. Now change the Blend Mode of this layer from Normal to Overlay. If the effect seems too strong, try the Soft Light blend mode which is less severe. If you want a greater effect than Overlay delivers, try Linear Light. You can back off the effect of any of these blend modes with the Opacity slider but that would, I think, also back off the amount of Blur, which may or may not (depending upon the image) lessen the overall effect you are aiming for.
    (f) Next comes the Knockout Layer (KL) to remove the effect of these Blur and Blend Mode edits from the eyes. The KL must be on top of the Blur layer, so make the Blur layer active and then add a new transparent layer above it - CTRL + Shift + N and name it Knockout.
    (g) On the new KL, select the eyes with the Elliptical Marquee Tool (select too much rather than too little reason follows later) and fill the selection with Black ALT + Backspace (provided Foreground Colour in Tools Palette is Black). Then deselect the eyes CTRL + D.
    (h) Bring up the Layer Style dialog box (LSDB) by double clicking on the icon for the KL. In the LSDB change Knockout from None to Shallow and reduce Fill Opacity from 100 to zero % and click OK which dismisses the LSDB. That is it you have now eliminated the effects of the Blur layer on the eyes using the Black holes on the KL.
    (i) To remove any excess eye selection, you use the Eraser tool (set to about 50% hardness) and paint around the edges of the eyes with the Eraser tool what this is doing is reducing the size of the holes in the KL and bringing back the effects of the edits from the Blur layer.

  • LDAP Filters - Valid Date Ranges By Server OS

    Hello everyone,
I hope I'm dropping this in the correct place.. I've never posted here before. While querying Active Directory via LDAP I noticed a regression in behavior between Server 2008R2 and 2012R2 (possibly other versions) running
    Directory Services.
The query I am attempting is (&(whenChanged>=19000101000000.0Z)(objectClass=person))
This previously worked in 2008R2 and would return everything matching objectClass=person in the org, on 2012R2 Domain Controller it would appear the lowest acceptable value is the year 1941.
I then decided to look for the cut off in 2008R2 and found that the year 1601 shows results 1600 does not.
This isn't a very big deal, we will just change our query, we perform the initial enumeration with the year 1900 and then move the watermark forward to the start time of the last enumeration.
I'm wondering if there is a known acceptable range per Server version for date filters and if this is going to continue to change as you release new versions of Windows Server.

    Hey Andrew,
Thanks for your time. According to your post, it appears that you have already found the technical answer to the issue.
As for "if this is going to continue to change when releasing new versions of Windows server", I do not think we can have a answer at this moment, because whether it would be changed or not has not been decided yet (it happens in the future, right?).
What I can think of is, probably we can consider a "relatively safe range" in the query. Considering the age of Active Directory technology, what would be the most age entry that could possibly exist? We just need to cover that range and it would be fine.
As a summary, we cannot foresee what the future versions of Windows would behave at this moment, but we can think of a reasonable range that is relatively "safe".

  • Adding watermark to flash SWF movie

Please can someone advise how I may add a watermark to my
    Flash movie.
I have created a watermark that will cover the whole video
view but it will not be so dark that it can not be viewed, i have
it in black and white and set the background of the image to
transparent, using mircosoft photo editor. then saved this as a PNG
    file.
i have added it to a new layer, but can not seem to view
both, its just one of the other. how do i add a watermark?
    thanks

there is no "watermark" feature - it doesnt exist - you can
easily make one as described in other
replies - if you are having trouble with colors and contrast,
generally it is goo dpractice to make
the watermark 50% alpha or provide a drop shadow to help its
    visibility.

  • Watermarking DNxHD36 QT leads to black movie

    Hi,
I am trying to watermark a bunch of QTs (AVID DNxHD36 1080P 24) but as soon as I set a filter for this the result is a black QT. Actually you see the first frame correctly which then smoothly fades to black and the rest of the film will stay black with the text burn-in I've set.
This happens with any other filter as well.
The preview monitor shows everything is fine but the rendered QT is messed up.
A friend tried on a different system with Compressor 3. Same result.
Any ideas? This renders this "pro" app pretty much useless for me.
    Thanks!
(Using Compressor 4.0.7, AVID DNxHD codecs are installed)

Yes, this is still an issue with the latest version of Compressor. It's been like this for a while and is very frusterating. But there are a couple ways around this.
One, if you paste an empty text track in the Quicktime movie with Quicktime Pro 7 and then save it (saves instantly, no rendering) and bring that movie in to Compressor it will work with the timecode and text burn in filter. Here is a thread that discusses how to do this:
    http://community.avid.com/forums/p/94827/569550.aspx
(See the 9th and 10th posts in that thread for instructions.)
And two, instead of doing the burn ins in Compressor I use this app Toki TC. Here's a blog post I did on using this with Compressor if it suits your needs.

Let me know if any of this works for you.

  • Best quality for watermark movie

I need to do a watermark on my 87 minute DVD movie to send to France. This isn't a big studio thing and I have to do things myself. I will copy to FCP from the DVD master (which was made from 35mm to Digi-beta to DVD) and want the best quality I can get. I have the papers on watermarks and can figure that out easily enough.
To make it more complicated, there are extras and commentary also. But I can forgoe these as the dvd movie is enough for them to decide whether to distrib it or not.

The 35mm print was transferred to digi-beta by my North American distrib. DVDs were made from digi-beta master as far as I know and for only their use. All other territories are mine, thus a French company which had the old VHS version now would like to see the DVD version as the VHS was pretty poor. The new DVD is quite good, even in copied DVD, considering the original 35mm print is 32 years old.
I can send a DVD to France but am wary about sending a copy without watermark, having dealt with foreign distribs before. Can't really get a sales agent as the fan market for movie is limiited and sales agents steal just as much as distribs do.
The only media I have to work with is a DVD. A transfer may follow as I have the 35mm prints but obviously I don't want to pay for digi-beta transfer or at least for full price.

  • Options for resize datafile lower than high watermark besid alter table mov

    hello all,
I have an issue where i am getting ORA-03297 error when trying to resize the datafile. Its becuase of high watermarks. I know i have couple of options...either resize it till the high watermark or Drop or move segments containing extents in this region prior to
resizing the file....but the situation is this....this a test env...and we have couple of chained rows and doing that(alter table move) will get rid of our chained rows and we do not want that....as we are testing the removal of chained row from our prod systems....as i mentioned we cant do alter table move
what other options do we have in order to shrink datafile below highwater mark besides moving or droping the segment into a different tablespace as we want to preserve the chianed rows for our testing and making the DB smaller in size (space issue on the server ) ??? any ideas or any thoughts ??
we are on 10.2.0.3 on AIX system
i have already went thru these metalink doc .... on that error
Note 1029252.6 - How to Resize a Datafile
Note 130866.1 - How to Resolve ORA-03297 When Resizing a Datafile by Finding the Table Highwatermark
    Note 237654.1 - Resizing a Datafile Returns Error ORA-03297

i am sorry not able to get your question ??
I want to shrink the space of the Datafile without removing the chaned rows for testing the removal of chianed row for prod. The reason why is becoz of rman backup space issue. If we shrink the datafile our DB will be down to 150GB....and if we cant its about 450GB...which is big difference...and the reason for backup for this dev env is because once we have tested teh removal of chained rows...we will restore it again and re-test it and its a very mission critial system...we need to test this min of 3 times to get teh change approved...thats why...if we have a backup now...we can remove chain rows and then restore it back to this point and test it again...if you know wat i mean

  • Watermarking a movie / Burning to DVD

I'm trying to put a watermark (individual's name) on a film in imovie and then make a playable dvd of it.  But when I create in imovie, then export to idvd and burn it from there, it turns out looking terrible (soft and distorted picture).  Any tips on better steps I can take to get the true picture quality?  Is it possible to do title watermarks in idvd?  Thanks!

Sadly, breaking the encryption on a commercial DVD, a necessary first step in copying it, is illegal in the U.S. Because it's illegal, the terms of use of these forums prohibit us from discussing software or methods. Sorry.
