Move operations of FTP adapter

Hi,
I have used a FTP adapter with move operation to move file from one directory to another directory of different server. As per the Oracle document , I have specified the source directory , destination directory, source file name and destination file name in the BPEL source code. And it is working fine. But I have a requirement to be having the options to change these source directory , destination directory, source file name and destination file name from the EM console. But in this case it is not working. It is quite obvious , it will not be available from EM as it is driven by the BPEL code. So can anyone please suggest me whether we can use these move operation of FTP adapter driven by the adapter JNDI?

Hi,
You can add preferences to your composite, they can be changed on EM and your BPEL will retrieve the values.
Have a look into this entry on Eric's blog...

Hope this helps...
Cheers,
Vlad

  • Move file with ftp adapter

    Hello everyone,
    Should I move some files when they appear in a specific directory.
    In particular, I have a SQL query that extracts the absolute file path list.
    Then I move these files to another server.
    How you can configure the process to periodically check the files?
    Thanks in advance
    Regards

    Hi,
    Follow the link posted by userN, just be aware that the sample code is not quite correct on the documentation.
    This question was widely discussed in this thread

  • Passing file name dynamically in Synchronous read operation of FTP adapter in OSB

    Hi,
    We are implementing the integration in OSB 11g and using FTP JCA adapters to check if the file exists in the FTP location or not. We are using Synchronous read operation of FTP adapters. We need to pass the file name dynamically at run time. In the JCA file we can hard code the file name. How that file name can be taken dynamically using OSB.
    Regards,
    Sharmistha

    Hi Sandeep,
    This is possible.
    For creating filenames dynamically for your sender, you will have to crate a variable name ( eg: %VAR%) as you file name and then you will have to give the name of your file under variable substitution. Just check this link for more info,
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/14/80243b4a66ae0ce10000000a11402f/frameset.htm
    In the case of receiver file adapaters, you have 5 options for file creation like,
    1.Create
    2.Append
    3. Add time stamp
    4.Add Counter
    5. Add Message ID
    You can choose any of these options or you can do it dynamically from you payload. Just check out this help link for more info,

  • Ftp Adapter Inbound operation not working

    Hi All,
    I'm running on SOA 11g on a Oracle Linux machine.
    FtpAdapter is configured and works well for outbound operations (my test composite can put a file on a ftp location).
    For inbound operation something is not working, my composite, a simple ftp adapter + bpel process, never start (no instances) .
    I'm able to get the file using an ftp client (tested from the soa server machine too).
    I just increased the server log and I can see the ftp communication but an exception is raised in socket operation after *FTP Adapter Project2 FTP Command: LIST, reply:[[*

  • 10.1.3.4 - ESB FTP adapter not processing the files in the input directory

    I created a process that reads from a logical inputDir. I migrated the ESB service to another box and created the same adapter connection etc. however nothing really happens in this new environment. In the opmn.log i see the following statements and no other info.
    2008-12-16 14:03:41,994> <INFO> <collaxa> <ServerManager::loadProcesses> Done loading processes for all domains
    <AdapterFramework::Inbound> Instantiating inbound part of Adapter Framework instance: OraESB
    <AdapterFramework::Inbound> Adapter Framework instance: OraESB - endpointActivation for portType=Get_ptt, operation=Get
    <AdapterFramework::Inbound> Creating new instance of Resource Adapter oracle.tip.adapter.ftp.FTPResourceAdapter
    <AdapterFramework::Inbound> Adapter Framework instance: OraESB - starting Resource Adapter oracle.tip.adapter.ftp.FTPResourceAdapter
    <FTP Adapter::Inbound> File/FTP Adapter started successfully.
    <FTP Adapter::Inbound> ENDPOINT ACTIVATION CALLED IN FTP ADAPTER
    <AdapterFramework::Inbound> Adapter Framework instance: OraESB - successfully completed endpointActivation for portType=Get_ptt, operation=Get
    <FTP Adapter::Inbound> Connection Created
    <FTP Adapter::Inbound> Connection Created
    The last message "Connection Created" keeps repeating, but no processing occurs. I tried increasing all the loggers to finest. but still nothing happens.
    any idea how to troubleshoot this ? the only difference in the environment is that the new environment has 10.1.3.4 MLR2 and the first one is just plain 10.1.3.4

    Make sure that you modified the oc4j-ra.xml file in the FtpAdapter directory and have put the correct hostname and username and password. The directory structure looks like this //some-directory/oc4j_soa/application-deployments/default/FtpAdapter/oc4j-ra.xml.

  • Oracle AS B2B - Various Features in FTP Adapter (FTPS, SFTP...)

    As part of the Oracle AS B2B 10.1.2.0.2 FTP adapter offering following features are supported. FTP Protocol forms part of the Generic Exchange Plugin.
    1. Basic FTP
    Identification of Trading Partner Criterion is slightly different for Internal and External Delivery channel, even though identification is based on the "Name" in both of this cases.
    a. For External Delivery Channel.
    i. Identification of Trading Partner is based on the name of the file and the name shoud follow the patterns as nameOfTP_UniqueID.
    ii.Identification of Trading Partneris based on the name of the Directory. To enable this it is required to set
    oracle.tip.adapter.b2b.allTPInOneDirectory= True as part of tip.properties setting.
    b. For Internal Delivery Channel.
    The identification of Trading partner and the Document is based on the name of the file and should follow the pattern as
    TradingPartner_DocumentType_Revision_msgType_msgId_replytoMsgID_extension.xml
    2. FTPS : FTP OVer SSL
    Download any of the FTP server which can be configured to FTPS such as FIlezilla. Configure FTP server for FTPS as per the FTP server documentation.
    Oracle AS B2B Configurtion:
    The SSL configuration is drived by the value of parameter "Channel mask"
    1. Depending on the mode of data transfer i.e Active/Passive , specify the data port for Active configuration and no data port for passive mode. Control port is there for both the mode and by default B2B considers this to be 21, there is a need to
    mention it for any deviation.
    2. Receiver Channel Mask (Host) : Depending on whether No channel encrypted, data channel to be encrypted , Control Channel to be encrypted or Both control and Data channel to be encrypted specity none, Data, Control or Both accordingly.
    2. Sender Channel Mask (Trading Partner) : Depending on whether No channel encrypted, data channel to be encrypted , Control Channel to be encrypted or Both control and Data channel to be encrypted specity none, Data, Control or Both accordingly.
    Refer to the user guide for FTP Transport configuration.
    3. SFTP(New Feature available as part of latest B2B patch # 6353697)
    SFTP implementation has been provided for Oracle B2B 10.1.2.0.2 version. This enables B2B to send and receive payload files over SFTP (SSH FTP) protocol.
    SFTP protocol support added for both external trading partners and internal applications communications. The naming conventions of the payload files are in-line with File and FTP adapters.
    Proxy support provided (HTTP)
    Authentication Support :
    Password based authentication – username/password combination authentication
    Public key authentication – authenticating the identity based on the public key
    create a key pair using OpenSSL keygen tool and the Public key need to be installed in the server. and the private keys fully qualified file location has to be specified in Private Key file and the passphrase has to be provide in Prive Key Pass phrase.
    If the passphrase is present in the FTP configuration, B2B engine considers the password based Authentication else key based Authentication otherwise it is key based Authentication.

  • 10.1.3.4 - FTP adapter error while file get

    I created an esb service that reads from a remote server and processes the file locally. It works fine in dev. When I migrated my esb flow to a test environment it is now throwing some error.
    <AdapterFramework::Inbound> Adapter Framework instance: OraESB - successfully completed endpointActivation for portType=Get_ptt, operation=Get
    <FTP Adapter::Inbound> Connection Created
    <FTP Adapter::Inbound> Unable to list files from '/apps/EDI/Archive/OutBound/Customer' directory on 'corpapp10' server; FTP command[NLST] returned unexpected reply code : 550
    <FTP Adapter::Inbound> Poller raising Alert for exception : ORABPEL-11430
    Error in listing files in the remote directory.
    Unable to list file in remote directory.
    Check the error stack and fix the cause of the error. Contact oracle support if error is not fixable.
    The dev remote server and the test remote server are different. I have done the obvious checks about server name, permissions, directory names etc. I can login to the server using windows ftp however when I go the inbound directory and type in ls, i get the following error - 550 Arguments too long. I have some 37000 files in the directory. ls -l works fine.
    I switched the ftp adapter to poll a different directory which only has 1 file, but it still gives the same error. However in this case, the windows ftp is able to list the files using ls command.
    any idea how i can make this work ?

    i undeployed the esb project and deploying it again. Now even worse, nothing happens now. It has stopped polling at all. I just see the following message in the opmn.log, but none of the files get picked up.
    <FTP Adapter::Inbound> Connection Created
    <FTP Adapter::Inbound> Connection Created
    <FTP Adapter::Inbound> Connection Created
    To be sure, I deployed it to another environment (DEV) and it works ok there.

  • FTP Adapter - 10.1.3.3 -Urgent !!!

    Hi,
    I am trying to configure get operation for FTP adapter (SOA Suite 10.1.3.3./ Jdev 10.1.3.3). Created an empty BPEL project, created a partner link and configured receive activiyt to invoke this PL and then rest of the steps.
    After deploying the process, it successfully gets the file from server (as files are getting deleted from FTP server) but does not invoke rest of the process and below given error is thrown. Please help me in fixing this error.
    Cannot find partnerLinkType 2.
    PartnerLinkType "{http://xmlns.oracle.com/pcbpel/adapter/ftp/pl_get/}Get_plt" is not found in WSDL at "file:/C:/product/10.1.3.1/OracleAS_1/bpel/domains/default/tmp/.bpel_Test_get_1.0_628532faf224f53a82e754e3a3c213a8.tmp/_Test_get.wsdl".
    Please make sure the partnerLinkType is defined in the WSDL.
    I have successfully tested FTPDebatching sample and it works fine.

  • Can Scheduler be used in ORACLE SOA to trigger FTP Adapter read operation

    I need to create an ESB project where scheduler should trigger the File/FTP Adapter read operation.
    Where can I provide the time settings viz. (xx HR: yy MM: zz SS everyday)?
    Is it possible in Oracle SOA?
    Please provide any tutorial where scheduler has been used to invoke the File/FTP Adapter rather than invoking it real time (gets triggered the moment files are placed).
    Thanks

    You should the quartz timer within the SOA Suite to obtain this functionality.

    The problem: I was sending the wrong direction where should look the files in the FTP. The correct way to send is as follows:
    My FTPService.wsdl
    <binding name="Get_OpenBatch_binding" type="tns:Get_OpenBatch_ptt">
    <pc:inbound_binding/>
    <operation name="Get_OpenBatch">
    <jca:operation FileType="ascii"
    PhysicalDirectory="Cashier"
    ActivationSpec="oracle.tip.adapter.ftp.inbound.FTPActivationSpec"
    ExcludeFiles=".*corte.*\.txt"
    DeleteFile="true"
    PollingFrequency="60"
    MinimumAge="0"
    FileModificationTime="FileSystem"
    ModificationTimeFormat="4,18,yyyyMMddHHmmSS"
    OpaqueSchema="false"/>
    <input>
    <jca:header message="hdr:InboundHeader_msg" part="inboundHeader"/>
    </input>
    </operation>
    </binding>
    <service name="FTPOpenBatch_RegCob">
    <port name="Get_OpenBatch_pt" binding="tns:Get_OpenBatch_binding">
    <jca:address location="eis/Ftp/FtpAdapter" UIexcludeWildcard="*corte*.txt"/>
    </port>
    </service>
    <plt:partnerLinkType name="Get_OpenBatch_plt">
    <plt:role name="Get_OpenBatch_role">
    <plt:portType name="tns:Get_OpenBatch_ptt"/>
    </plt:role>
    </plt:partnerLinkType>
    </definitions>
    look does not remove the attributes FileModificationTime and ModificationTimeFormat, as recommended in many blogs
    and my bpel.xml
    <activationAgents>
    <activationAgent className="oracle.tip.adapter.fw.agent.jca.JCAActivationAgent" partnerLink="FTPOpenBatch_RegCob">
    <property name="portType">Get_OpenBatch_ptt</property>
    <property name="Cashier">Cashier</property>
    </activationAgent>
    </activationAgents>
    here I specify the logic directory where are the files.

  • FTP adapter: put operation on root folder is failing

    Hi All,
    I am trying to put files on SFTP server through FTP adapter.
    If i select PhysicalDirectory as something like '/output' - put operation is working.
    But if i use PhysicalDirectory as '/' - put operation is not working. I am getting error saying "/" is invalid directory. Can you please help me? Thanks!
    I can put the files over the "/" using sftp client, so looks like i have required permissions.
    Thanks,
    Kathar

    Check whether the ftp user is defined with '/' folder or different. I think that particular user's home folder is defined as /output.
    Thanks,
    Vijay

  • OSB error while generating business service for FTP adapter Sync Get File

    Hi All
    I am trying to generate a business service from SOA Suite JCA FTP adapter Sync Get File, but i am getting this exception for no reasons (Rest operations list file, get file and put file are working)
    Invalid JCA transport endpoint configuration, exception: java.lang.NullPointerException     Unknown ALSB Conflict.
    Is this a bug in eclipse, can any body help me. Thanks
    Sorry Forgot to mention eclipse version...
    Eclipse Platform
    Version: 3.6.2
    Build id: M20110210-1200

    Ok,
    bcoz of this issue, i had to code the entire interface in OSB console. It runs fine in OSB console (i was able to test it successfully).
    Is this a bug in eclipse or only i am facing this issue? Has anybody tried to create a business service from JCA FTP Get Synchronous jca file?
    <adapter-config name="FTPReadMOMFileOnRMSDB" adapter="FTP Adapter"
         wsdlLocation="../wsdl/FTPReadMOMFileOnRMSDB.wsdl"
         xmlns="http://platform.integration.oracle/blocks/adapter/fw/metadata">
         <connection-factory location="eis/ftp/RMSDBFtpAdapter" />
         <endpoint-interaction portType="SynchRead_ptt"
              operation="SynchRead">
              <interaction-spec
                   className="oracle.tip.adapter.ftp.outbound.FTPReadInteractionSpec">
                   <property name="DeleteFile" value="true" />
                   <property name="PhysicalDirectory" value="/MOMFiles/output" />
                   <property name="FileName" value="*" />
                   <property name="FileType" value="binary" />
              </interaction-spec>
         </endpoint-interaction>
    </adapter-config>
    One more doubt? The PhysicalArchiveDirectory path can be on the FTP server something like: /MOMFiles/archive. Or do i have to use the Put operation to move it to /MOMFiles/archive directory. Currently OSB console and eclipse do not accept FTP path for this parameter and want me to specify a local directory on server. Thanks
