Complete parts list:
MSI Media Live Diva w/ 5.1 Channel Amp
Scythe Ninja Mini
Seems you're building a similar system to me, did changing the RAM to slots 1 & 3 work? Also did you have any difficulties fitting the scythe mini onto the mobo, I have bought both the board and the heatsink but not assembled yet. The heatsink is HUGE, I'm hoping it doesn't block the RAM slots. I also have the Antec Fusion Black case.

  • MSI Media Live DIVA won't POST

I have an MSI Media Live DIVA I can't get to POST, show any video indication, keyboard indication, or beeps from the motherboard with or without RAM.  I have tried it both in the case and sitting on a static bag.  I need some suggestions before I contact MSI for a replacement.
Also, the system has never been booted (all new parts) and my other systems in the house aren't AM2 so I haven't been able to test the CPU to make sure it works.
    Anyone have any thoughts?

Try with another CPU from the compatibility list{Not Phenom} ==> http://global.msi.eu/index.php?func=prodcpusupport&maincat_no=134&cat2_no=&cat3_no=&prod_no=1654#menu
See if you can post, then update the BIOS to the latest one ==> http://global.msi.eu/index.php?func=downloaddetail&type=bios&maincat_no=134&prod_no=1654
    1. Update CPU module to 3.13_36 (AGESA code 3.1.9.1)
    2. Fix AMD Phenom X4 9600 HD960ZWCJ4BGD CPU compatibility issue.

I have been able to get output from the RCA on my board, make sure you're plugging into the Line-Out ones. I found that I have to play with the settings in windows to get them to work (connecting to a surround sound amp). I cannot remember off the top of my head but theres options in windows for playback devices: HDMI Audio, D2 Audio, Speakers, Headphones. Try each of these in turn, you can right click each one and hit Test and it will play a chirpy little tune in each speaker L+R.
Not that this only outputs stereo and may be quiet on some systems as it is a line level output i.e. it needs to be amplified.
    Hope that helps.

At a guess, I would say that if the only problem is the chipset cooler, then it shouldn't be a problem to replace it if you wish.
However, MSI UK will not warranty products bought overseas, with the exception of notebooks, so if you did encounter any problems, you'd need to return it to MSI USA.

The Phenom II X4 965 is either 120W or 140W TDP, depending on which stepping you bought.

The Media Live DIVA Support the AMD Dual-Core and Quad-Core AM2+ Processors up to AMD Phenom X4 Series Quad-Core Processors.(TDP 95W MAX)
You should replace that CPU immediately for one on the support list, otherwise you will end up frying your mainboard.

  • Media live diva unreliable Startup problems

I have just built my HTPC with the media live Diva. X2 250 CPU and 2 x2Gb 800hz RAM
Bios flashed to V1.34 to support CPU but  both pre and post flash computer does not always get to POST.
I have tried 2 PSU's with same issues.
Fan starts at low speed and HD kicks into life then nothing else happens .
resets or power off/on and after a few attempts fan speeds up to full speed and computer will Beep and go to POST and works fine but not the best for a HTPC as this seems to effect wake from S3 as well.
Checked connections and tried kingston RAM from PC with no difference any ideas or RMA?
    Cheers

Thanks, I was hoping It would be something simple and I wouldn't have to send it back as thats another month of no HTPC

  • D2audio chipset on Media Live Diva

    Hi dears,
this is my first post here, I always lurked this forum for solutions to my HTPC problems, but this time it seems nobody had the same problem.
So, last september I built up an MSI Media Live Diva based HTPC; I basically wanted to bypass rubbish audio of Samsung LED TV without asking to the kids/wife to turn the ampli on/off (...they always forget it "on"). The HTPC is still running Windows 7 x64 RC (build 7100).
Everything was working fine till two days ago: when I resumed the PC from standby, I found the Realtek HD audio setup window open, and D2audio peripheral disappeared from control panel. I still do not know if this happened or if somebody touched some control by mistake... but now integrated audio ampli does no longer work and hardware scan cannot detect it. Of course I uninstalled/reinstalled Realtek audio drivers several times, I also tried to manually install D2audio drivers instead of Realtek or ATI ones... but nothing changed!
5.1 amplifier board seems to work (red light on), but D2audio chipset looks like "dead".
Has anybody an idea on how to proceed? Integrated ampli is a must for me and I would recovery such feature!
    Thanks!

Yesterday evening I opened the HTPC; everything was fine inside, cables were well placed and no dust, debris or short possibilities inside. So I started disconnecting/removing the peripherals, one by one, from the motherboard. Every time I did disconnect an unit, I tried booting up the system... unsuccessfully...
Motherboard has an integrated green LED that turns on when power is on, but I cannot hear the typical "double beep" coming from the board when it is started.
Being the motherboard completely unresponsive, make me guess it may have crashed... unless there is some sort of test procedure I can try...
BTW: I also tried removing the CPU, without improvements.

  • Media Live Diva - No audio from on board RCA audio outputs

I am using the Media Live Diva (MS-7411).  I am unable to route the audio to the RCA audio outputs built into the system board.  I do not see an option to select these outputs in the setup.   Any help would be appreciated as the MSI support seems to know very little about this board.

  • Dropped am3 chip into a media live Diva motherboard (ms-7411) Problems?

Orderded an am2+ amd phenom II X4 965 chipset and dropped it into the motherboard socket. Not recognised by the bios but everything else flashed up. Inserted the windows 7 installation disk and am still sitting watching the 'Starting Windows' screen a few hours later. I poked around and on the box for the chipset is a note that it is an am3 socket. Any idea if this will work or have I royally messed things up. How long does Win 7 take to install on a completely new build with 2 x 1tb unformatted drives?

Did you check the CPU support list before you ordered your CPU?

That does not answer the question of what CPU, it could be any one of >> these, << Media Live does not come with CPU pre-installed so we have no way of knowing which one it has, remove the HSF from the CPU and give us the OPN.

  • MSI Media Live DIVA no POST

This might be a late entry post but I have the same problem. It just would not POST!!!. The first mobo was returned to newegg including the CPU (Phenom 9600); both were promptly replaced by newegg. I received both the other day but only got to test them out today but no joy.  I replaced the memory three times -high-performance to el cheapo - all from working PCs I got, still no joy. All items are brand new (except for the ballistix memory kit).
    Config as follows:
    Mobo: MSI Live DIVA
    CPU:   Phenom 9600 2.3 GHz Quad-Core
    Memory: G.Skill PC2-8500 DDR2-1066 (4Gb) F2-8500CL5D-4GBPK  /Alternative memory kits tried: Kingston 2 GB KVR667D2/2GR and Crucial Ballistix 2GB BL2KIT12864AA1065
    PSU: PC Power & Cooling S61EPS 610W
I'd hate to return this again. Time and money...

Thanks for the advice Stu. I got another mobo (Asus M3A78-CM) and CPU (Phenom 8650); tried my new CPU on the DIVA but still nothing - no beeps, no POST. Both CPUs worked on the ASUS. Oh well, It was about time to upgrade the other PC, too... RMA'd the DIVA back to MSI and I guess I am back to square one. No HTPC. I'll post again once I get another mobo from MSI.

  • Flash Media Live Encoder won't connect to server

I am trying to configure Flash Media Live Encoder 3.2. I followed the instructions provided by the chatroom I am working for, and it seems to be working until I press the "Start" button on the bottom. When I do that, I get an error message that says
    "Problem with Primary Server
Failure to connect to primary server. Please verify that your Server URL and application name are valid and that your internet connection is working and retry."
I get the same message when I hit the "Connect" button on the dashboard.
I have Windows 7, and more than adequate processing power/connection speed. My performance meter says it is only taking up 9% of my CPU, and my connection speed is at least 15, usually more like 30megs.
    Any suggestions?

    Most of the time is is due to;
    Ports or firewall blocking connections
Settings put into FMLE are not correct, check FMS URL for spaces and the Stream key not being what was expected.
Application no present on the server
Good way to debug is to use the Admininistration panel that Adobe provides in the FMS install.

Thank you for replying. I had no idea I had a response. It is a Windows 7 Home Premium. The game is actually now a few different ones for my child, Baby Luv, Brave & Disney Princesses. None of them will work. I have an Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 3150 graphics card in this (Compaq Presario All-In-One Desktop PC) and I just posted another question in the forum about wanting to know if I can replace the grahics card with a HD card and if so how? I have looked online but can't find an answer. Is it possible to replace the card or with it being an all-in-one is it not possible? Thank you.
