Moving a US purchased AppleTV to Europe

Will my US bought Apple TV work in Europe on 240V ? And typically the TVs there are supporting NTSC not PAL like in US. Any idea what to do apart from selling it in US?

Yes.

So does the Apple TV. You only need a power plug adaptor.

  • US purchased extreme in Europe?

Just bought Airport Extreme and while using the AirPort Utility to set it up noticed that countries listed are exclusively American ones. This got me a bit worried about the settings of these devices, is their something that will prevent use of US purchased Extreme in Europe? This did not even come to my mind when I bought it. Thanks in advance for all replies.

Base Stations designed for use in North America transmit channels 1-11. In Europe, they use channels 1-13. If you take one designed for use in North America, to Europe, you won't have a problem because all wireless computers designed for the European market will be able to "see" all channels it is capable of transmitting.

I've changed my account's country, address, and phone number because I've moved and my purchased apps (from previous country) does not appear anymore, how do I fix it?

That is the expected behavior. You will also no longer be alerted to any updates for that content.
If any of the content is sold in the new country's store and you find out through the grapevine about an update, you can update the content for free, but you will have to go through the steps for buying the update as a new purchase. Then the store will notice in the final steps that you own this content and update for free. It is the end of the road for any content from the previous country that is not sold in the current country's store. You will not be able to update the content in the new store.

  • Just purchased appletv

Just purchased appletv and extremely disappointed with very limited capabilities.  Read all I could before buying, but promotional materail and salesperson overstated.   What's the chance for a refund?

Take it back to the place of purchase and ask for a refund... it's not that difficult.

  • Using my US purchased printer in Europe ... ?

    Hello all-
I have a HP Color Laserjet CP2025n that I bought a while back, and it works great. So much so that I elected to take it with me when I moved to Spain this past summer. Before moving, I checked on the HP website and noticed that the specs claim this model will work with both 110 and 220v power sources. (See specs here: http://www.shopping.hp.com/product/printer/LaserJet/1/storefronts/CB494A%2523ABA - Select the "Specs" tab and then scroll down the page and select "PDF Version of all Specs".)
However, I am here now trying to hook up the printer and getting nowhere. Won't even power up, and the back of the printer itself only says that it will handle 120-127v of power. Did I just get hoodwinked? Is there some kind of switch I need to flip to make this work?
    Welcome any responses...

Bumping this thread up and hoping that one of the HP Experts will take a look.
After a bunch more investigation, I discovered that HP printers like my LJ CP2025n are not 110 - 240v compatible. Instead, there is a US model that runs on the 110 - 120v range, and a seperate Europen model that runs on the 200 -240v. So for someone like myself that has just moved from the States to Europe, it's frustrating that I have to buy either a voltage converter or a new printer.
As a technologist, I would be interested to know why HP can't just make their printers 110 - 240v compatible to buffer for this problem, or at least provide a physical switch to alter the voltage handling like a lot of desktop computers (Dell) have. I mean, if Apple can make their smallest iPod adapters 110 - 240v compatible, then what is the technological barrier to making a printer work the same way?

  • Extracting Photos Moved to iPhone @ Purchase

Can I extract photos which were moved to my iPhone at the time of purchase?  They are in a folder titled "MyPix", but aren't accessible from the "My Computer"/camera extraction method.  I can extract photos taken with the iPhone, but what about those which were placed on the phone?  Is there a method to get them off too?
    Thanks!
    Jason

If you cannot access them from camera wizard/my computer (on windows) or image capture/iPhoto (mac) then you may have to email them to yourself.

  • Moving Apple TV Purchases back to iTunes

I need to restore my Apple TV but I do not want to lose the TV shows that were purchased with Apple TV. How do I transfer the files to iTunes? Then I can restore and fill up Apple TV with all my goodies?
    Thanks

Just to echo the other poster...it sounds like you are only setup to Stream, not sync. One should have at least one of thier computers set to sync with the AppleTV. If that was done in the beginning, then as soon as you bout something on the AppleTV, it would of automatically also gone to your computers iTunes library.
Go to the Apple TV. Go to Settings, then computers. In there is the place to setup a computer to SYNC. Need to get it syncing (not only streaming) with your computer.

  • US purchased Macbook in Europe not connecting to my wifi

i have a brand new macbook purchased in the usa. i live in switzerland. wireless worked fine in the states. it does not read that my wifi network exists. it sees two external wifi networks (secured) that i do not have access to.
i also have a mac mini which reads my network fine. it was purchased here.
i have read a few posts about wifi card problems between countries with this model.

    hi michael,
    thanks much. it works now.
the base was set to automatic (channel 13).
i rebooted the airport express base station. i had done that before. however this time i also unplugged my wireless landlandline phone base station. that seems to have done the job.
i think channel 13 is one of those european channels not available on a n. american wireless card.
works fine now. thanks for your help.

  • Moving rented movies from appletv to itunes

How do I move a rented movie on appletv to itunes. I know you can do it the other way around. But this time i rented the movie straight from my apple tv and dont see how to move it to my computer. Ultimately I want to move it to my iphone. But want to move it to itunes on my computer first.
    Any ideas???

How do I move a rented movie on appletv to itunes.
You can't. A rental done on an Apple TV can't be played anywhere else.

  • HT4743 Whenever I try to watch the TV shows I purchased through iTunes (some on my laptop, some on AppleTV), I get the message "iTunes is currently unavailable. Try again later". It's happened on every tv show I own, but the movies I have work perfectly.

iTunes is available if I want to purchase something, but not to play TV shows? I've looked around and it seems like it's a somewhat regular problem? I'm just trying to figure out if this is going to be an ongoing problem. I just purchased AppleTV less than a week ago and everything is up to date.

    What ISP?
    What router?
    Who made it, what software?
Is it just the iPad ( Anything else using wifi at your place having problems? ) ?
Give us something to go on.

  • UK ITunes purchases, why wont they play in Germany

Having recently moved from UK to Germany, I purchased AppleTV so I could download UK programmes and at least have something to watch which is not dubbed in German. I still have a UK bank account and still a UK address, which means I can still log into iTunes store in UK. Except……when I download anything, either through AppleTV or my Mac it will not play on my German TV. Worse, all my music, videos and TV shows which were already on my Mac, and all legally purchased from iTunes UK will not play either – format not recognised when I sync. Everything plays ok on my Mac, but I have a lovely white box that is of no use. Any ideas or am I just being stupid (and should just learn to speak German quicker)?

UK televisions do not work in Germany, picture is good, but the sound does not work
hmm, i bought a TV in Singapore while working there. when i got back, the TV worked just fine ...
    in Germany everything is dubbed.
i hate that fact, too - so much +get's lost in translation+. however, there is content in the German iTMS that is OV (or, @ least, is bilingual ). look out for this
    and this
nevertheless, stuff you already have in your iTunes library should play fine, no matter where you are.
may be a long shot, but try this:
check if you have read & write permissions for your iTunes music folder. in finder, right-click on it and +get info+. unlock the little padlock (you may have to enter your admin password) and change the permission settings. next, click on the little gear-shaped icon and +apply to enclosed items+ like so
you may also give everyone read & write access. if this doesn't help, try the same on your iTunes folder (not just the iTunes music folder).
    any difference ?
also, try de-authorizing your iTunes, then re-authorizing it.
another consideration: when you linked up with the German iTMS, did you create a new iTMS account ?

  • Why can't I buy an In-APP purchase? It says that I can not connect to the iTunes Store and that I will have to contact iTunes Store Support.

    Hey everyone
With my iPhone 4S I purchased the NAVIGON Europe App, downloaded needed files and maps within the App and all worked fine. But when I try to buy certain add-ons via In-App purchase I get a window telling me that it can'T connect to the iTunes store and that I have to contact iTunes store support.
This is what I have already tried to make it work:
Reset my iphone via iTunes (set it up as new iPhone)
Changed itunes store payment option from Click&Buy to credit card
    restarted iPhone several times
    scratched my head
checked restrictions under settings in iPhone: all is correct; in-App purchases allowed
    chewed my lip
finally sent a message to the itunes store support.. waiting for their answer
no changes so far. I still get the same error message.
    Any ideas?
    hugs

You will need to contact iTunes Support : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Purchases, Billing & Redemption

  • Video problem with appletv

I just purchased appletv and it works fine except when using the new app itunes live (itunes festival london).  When I try to play a concert from this app from my iphone to appletv I only get audio, no video on my big screen.  I get video to play just fine on the appletv from youtube and the videos that are on my iphone.  It seems like there is some issue with this itunes live app.  Everything I have is updated to the current version (appletv, imac computer, iphone).  Airplay seems to work just fine with everything but this app.  Anyone else having a similar problem?

Thanks for the quick response.  Unfortunately that did not fix the problem for me.  My appletv and iphone software are  all up to date and I still am getting only audio on the itune festival london app.  When I press the airplay button on the app once the video has started it gives me a choice of appletv or iphone and both have speaker icons next to them instead of tv icons.   That seems weird since in all other videos it shows the tv icon rather than the speaker icon.  When the music starts playing on the tv a musical note icon shows up on the tv saying unknown artist.  I will call apple care tomorrow and see if they can figure it out.  It really shouldn't be a problem since the app is designed by apple not a third party company.

  • Hard Drive Crash - How Do I Restore Purchased Media?

The boot drive (C:) of my PC / Windows XP computer has crashed and I am in the process of installing a brand new boot drive. Although key components of iTunes is located on the C: drive, the entire music / video library, including a number of purchased videos and music is located on a separate (and functional) hard drive (G:). I will be installing the new drive shortly (operating system and core applications such as iTunes, iTunes updater and Quick Time). Although I think I should be able to link my existing music / video library to iTunes on the new C: drive, I'm concerned that I might encounter problems with the purchased music / videos. I would appreciate any tips / guidance on the best way to proceed with seting up iTunes and the iPod on the system.
    Thanks for your help.
    Regards,
    Scott Stevenson

I am delighted to say that everything has gone well. I initially downloaded the latest versions of iPod updater and iTunes. I installed iTunes and imported the existing (+6,000 selections) from their location on the destop unit's data drive, and then ran the updater which, by the way, updated the iPod software on my iPod unit. I then synced the iPod with iTunes and responded yes to the question asking if I wanted to link to the "new" music library. Initially, all selections EXCEPT the purchased media transferred to the iPod. I then played one of the the purchased songs, which launched the new "authorization" process (I assume this was needed becasue of the newly installed BOOT DRIVE), which painlessly set the "new" system as the SECOND of FIVE computers authorized to play my purchased media. A second syncing round with the iPod moved all the purchased media onto the device (as you expected).
All in all, this was quite simple, and behaved exactly as one would expect.
Thanks again for the quick response and the "right on target" advice.
    Regards
