Moving an entire page in a form

I am using LiveCycle Designer 8 and I have created a form that has 7 pages. I am new to this program and have worked my way through lots of problems. Now my boss wants me to move the last page (7) to the 4th page in the form. Can this be done?
Please keep in mind that I am new so layman terms are appreciated.

Note that Reader (11 or otherwise) cannot show/hide pages that are templates. Reader 11 can spawn new pages from templates and delete any spawned pages, however. It also supports spawning a template by overlaying it on an existing page.

I am trying to skip logic a page, but my form fails to do so

In my form, the deadline to submit an abstract has passed, so I would like to skip the pages which ask for contributed talk information. Yet, in every iteration, the form fails to skip those pages. I've tried everything, and nothing works.
The only way I could hack a solution is to go to all of the different fields on those two pages, go "Show/Hide" on each field, and then hide if "any" condition was met, where the condition was a Yes/No question from before (and I hide if they said either of Yes or No).
If I were to guess, it looks like since the form has already accepted information from those fields, it refuses to skip over those fields for future submissions. But this is a problem, of course, because I don't want to write a brand new form that includes everything BUT those two pages. (And then later have to integrate the two separate databases.) The whole point of "skip logic" is for a user to "show and hide certain parts of a form", right?
This smacks of a bug, as far as I can tell.

following exactly what you are saying, and I agree with you. The
details: the pages with the "submit abstract" fields are on pages 6 and
7. I thought I could, at the end of page 5, say, "Skip directly to

I believe that I am correctly interpreting what Adobe advertises as
"skip directly to page", but it simply isn't working with my form in
this particular case, and for what reason I have no idea. I wanted to
submit a bug report but the only thing I could find on their website
was "Start a discussion."
Even though I can't make the entire pages go away, I managed to get the
fields to go away by that "show/hide" trick, where I am hiding the field
regardless of what the user enters previously. Clearly, though, this
isn't the right way to make pages 6 and 7 go away, and if I knew what
peculiarity about my form was rendering 6+7 inviolate, I would change
it.
I was a bit surprised, frankly, because up until now everything about
the form (and FormsCentral in general) seemed pretty slick - I was
impressed. Now, in the moment that I need these pages to go away, here
I am, hacking again.

I moved my entire iPhoto Library to an external hard drive, which seems to have worked. But now my Mac Pro shows a backup of the same size in the storage info and has not freed up any space. help!

I moved my entire Iphoto Library from my Macbook Pro to an external hard drive. (Prior to this, I also copied the entire library to a different ehd, plus I have 2 other ehdrives with backups). I was trying to get more space on my hd. It has a capacity of 500GB, but was down to 70GB usable, with about 300GB used up by photos. I moved the library by going to Finder, using Command+Drag+Drop onto the new Seagate ext hard drive icon. The move seems to have worked, as the library shows up on the ehd, plus will open from there. My problem is that now my Macbook Pro shows that I STILL have only 70GB available out of the 500, and that 300GB is used up by "Backups", which it did not indicate before.
I cannot find this 300GB "Backup" in the Finder, only in the Storage info when I check "About This Mac".
I have restarted my computer, but the information remains the same. How do I reclaim the use of the 300GB? Why is it showing up as "Backups" when it used to indicate "Photos"? Are my photos safe on the external drive?

You are probably using Time Machine to backup your MacBook Pro, right? Then the additional 300 GB could be local Time Machine snapshots. Time Machine will write the hourly backups to the free space on your hard disk, if the backup drive is temporarily not connected. You do not see these local backups in the Finder, and MacOS will delete them, when you make a regular backup to Time Machine, or when you need the space for other data.

You have tested the library on the external drive, and so your photos are save there.
The local TimeMachine snapshot probably now contains a backup of the moved library. Try, if connecting your Time Machine drive will reduce the size of your local Time Machine snapshots.

Help! Javascript not working when object moved from one page to another!

Hello all:
I am new to Adobe Livecycle Designer (version 8.0). I have created a 3 page interactive pdf form with numerous objects (text fields, radio buttons, drop-down boxes, etc.), that our business wants to begin using soon.
I am having difficulty with some of my Javascript not working with a few of my objects on page 2 of the form. Specifically, there is a drop-down box for "Country" on page 2 of my form. When the user selects, for example, "United States" from the list, I have Javascript that is supposed to change the "Currency" drop-down box rawValue to "US Dollars" accordingly (upon the change event).
I think my Javascript syntax is proper, but I am not certain. Here is my simple Javascript associated with the "Country" drop-down box (Note: rawValue 80 = "United States" and rawValue 105 = "US Dollars"):
form1.Page1.cmbContactInfoCountry::change: - (JavaScript, client) -

This seems pretty straight forward and it WORKS when my "Country" drop-down box is moved to page 1 of the form, but it WILL NOT WORK when I move the "Country" drop-down box back to page 2 of the form (which is where it belongs).
Does anyone have any suggestions or solutions? I have spent probably 6-8 hours racking my brain trying to figure out why it works when on one page, but it does not work when move to a different page. I am guessing that I may have corrupted something OR that I am not fully addressing the proper name of the object?

Thank you for your quick reply.I was able to obtain the full name of the cmbCurrency object using the method you taught me. That is brilliant! Great short-cut tool.
Unfortunately, I am still having issues with getting Javasript for the cmbCountry object to work with the cmbCurrency object. I haved pasted my new Javascript below.

When I select "Canada" from the cmbCountry drop-down object, the rawValue of the cmbCurrency drop-down object is changed to "US Dollars" (when it is clearly defined as "Canadian Dollars"). When I select "United States" from the cmbCountry drop-down object, the rawValue of the cmbCurrency drop-down object stays blank for uknown reasons. Very strange.

Image Slide In Moves Entire Page Contents

Hello,
I'm having an issue with a lightbulb image I want to make slide down on page load (using Spry effect "slide"). After it slides in, I want to have it swap to a "lit" lightbulb image when moused over. I currently have the image swap working correctly in IE 7, Firefox, and Chrome. BUT instead of just the bulb sliding in, the entire page is sliding in.
I do have several different position declarations for different page elements, so perhaps I just have too much going on!

This is one of those times when I have to say, "just because you CAN do something, doesn't mean you should."
If you disable CSS in your browsers, the bulb image swap behavior works just fine. The various other problems with your page layout stem from trying to be too cute for cute's sake.
Do not use positioning for primary layouts. Stick with plain old default CSS positioning (unspecified or static) for 98% of your layouts. When you start messing around with Fixed and Absolute positioning without a complete understanding of what they do, you will invariably create problems where none should exist.
For the time being, revert your CSS to default (no positioning, no z-indexes). When you get the layout to work in all browsers, then you can start introducing other advanced features one at a time.

Having a problem: Placing image or putting drop shadow on rectangle causing entire page to lighten up.

I don't know how to word this properly, so I'm sorry if I'm doing this all wrong! I'm having a problem with my document in indesign. I have placed a jped image on the page to serve as the background image. I did this on the master page. I first noticed this problem when I was trying to put a .psd image onto the page. When I did, it would cause the entire page to dramatically brighten! I finally gave up and moved on, and now I ran into the problem again when I created a new rectangle box. I put a drop shadow effect on the box and when I did this, it also made the entire page lighten up. Any suggestions on how to fix this problem??

Whenever you add a transparency effect such as drop shadow over another image, especially a grayscale image, InDesign changes how the page is rendered to reflect what it will look like when printed. As I understand it, nothing has changed but the display. Choose View > Overprint Preview to avoid such surprises and get a more accurate representation of what you'll see when printed when colors are separated. If your document is going to be output to PDF or SWF, choose Edit > Transparency Blend Space > Document RGB instead of Document CMYK.

Yes, you can Copy/Paste a group of fields (or entire page with Select All), formatting is retained.
If you want a new form with the same fields the easiest/best method is to "Duplicate" the form from the "My Forms" tab, click on the form to select and click "Duplicate" on the top toolbar (also available in the context menu when you right click on a file).
With "Duplicate" any "Show/Hide" logic is also retained and you have the option to copy responses as well.

Changing Page Upon Successful Form Validation

I am trying to create a sort-of registration process and am having some difficulty. I'll try to explain this as clearly as I can (forgive me, I'm a little new to all this):
I have a form where I am using Spry validation widgets. I'd like the submit button to validate those entries and keep the user on the page if any field doesn't pass, but take them to another page if the form checks out ok. I can't figure out how to do this. I've tried using behaviors to make the submit button also be a link but what ends up happening is that the link works whether the form passes validation or not.
Is there any simple way to accomplish this with Dreamweaver's tools? Any help is appreciated.

That is not entirely true. Using SpryValidation you automatically stop the form from being processes (that is if the browser is JS enabled). If the form validates upon submission, then the action will take place. If the action is to go to another page then it will do so.

Is there a way to automatically add another of the same page while a form is being filled?
I have a two-page form of which the second page is essentially a spreadsheet analog. Often, there is need for for more lines than are available on the page. Is there a way in which to add another or even multiple copies of the second page?

Error While opening a JSP page from inside form window

Hi,
I am using Oracle EBS 12.0.4 and using IE 7 as my browser.
Now when i am trying to open a jsp page form EBS Home page (after login) it is opening perfectly.The problem occurs when i tried to open jsp pages from inside form window.
E.g. From the home page when i tried to open a jsp page "Control Purchasing Periods" which is assigned in one of our custom responsibility(Manager Systems-->PO Super User-->Set up-->Financials-->Accounting-->Control Purchasing Periods) it opens a new log in page for the EBS. When i logged in it is showing

You have insufficient privileges for the current operation. Please contact your System Administrator. Same is happening when i am trying to open User Page form user management responsibility from inside a form window.Where as it is opening fine from home page.
Please help.

How to open a page from a Form and pass parameters to the form on that page

I found a similar example on this forum, but it did not work for me:

By using this method i get the parameters for the Form, like the session ID, but not the parameters for the Page that the form is displayed in.
Another method I tried:
To open a Form from a Form and pass parameters works fine like this:

But I want to open a Page containing the Form instead of just opening the Form. Is this possible to open a Page and pass paramters to the page, and then let the form inside the Page access the passed paramters. The reason for this is that a Form cannot be based on a page template, or can it? When opening the form i want to keep the left menu, which I can if it is a page based on my template with the left menu.

Hi,
You can do this by calling the url of the page with the form. You can then use p_arg_names and p_arg_values to pass parameters. In the called form you can get the value from p_arg_names and p_arg_values and assign it to the form field.
You can call this code in the success procedure of the calling form.

In the called form in "Before displaying form" plsql section write this code.

This code picks up the value from p_arg_values and assigns it to the form field.

You have to check the system variable &NEXTPAGE&, if it's 0 it means you're in the last page.
From SAP Help:
This symbol is used to print the number of the following page. The output format is the same as with &PAGE& .
Note that on the last page of the output, in each window that is not of type MAIN, &NEXTPAGE& has the value 0.

How to insert an username from the login page to the form page

Hi friends,
I created one database apex application in which it consist of three pages...
1)login page----->1
2)form page along with report page(in same page) i.e. i created a report region within a form region
3)form page(this page appears when i click the edit option in my previous report page
(i.e.) my 3rd form page depends upon my 2nd report page, as soon after i click the edit option of each and every row in my report which is in 2nd page it has to go to the corresponding 3rd form page for making an updations in each and every row...
I have created my above listed applications....
But the scenario for me is since the login page contains two fields, that is
user name:
password:
so i will be giving my name in the user name and also respective PW for accessing to my 2nd and 3rd page in my application...
Since my 2nd form page consist of following fields like
*) user name---------->
*) assigned to
*) status
*) start date
*) priority
so my requirement over here is soon after i logging into my application through the user name and PW into second page, while coming to the second form page
my user name field in my 2nd form page has to get inserted automatically with the user name that i have entered in the login page...
example: my user_name in login page is :harry
after going into the second form page with the user name "harry"
the field of my 2nd form page "username" has to get automatically generated with the name "harry"
Whether it is possible friends to do this in my application....i doesn't have any idea of it...Kindly help me friends to solve my scenario...please explain each and every steps in detailed manner...
Since the user_name: harry, is of I got from the admin side as a developer for the workspace......

Hi Karthik,
I made the following changes that you said, but there is just a one change in it...
You told these changes
Source Used: always, replacing any existing values in session state.
Source Type: Database column
Source value or expression: (respective column name)
and in Default: u need to give-----> &APP_USER.(exactly the same including the full stop)....
Thanks for your help Patel....I just worked and inserting for me in table of the corresponding user name who login.....
