RSS XML Feed

I have attempted to create a RSS feed using the iTunes tech specifications. However, I can't get my feed to test in ITunes (Advanced Menu Subscribe to Podcasts). Below is my small XML file named index.htm. I can't find anything wrong with it. Help!

  • Need to get rss/xml feed from itunes

I need to get an rss/xml feed of the albums I am selling on itunes -- to insert into an iphone app I am working on.
Any one know how to get this feed?

If you had iTunes Match before all this happened, yes. Just log in, activate iTM and download the music. If you did not have iTunes Match prior to these incidents, no, it can not help you.
You should also be doing regular backups of your personal data to an extnal HDD. If you had a backup hue could simply restore it.

  • Creation of the rss xml feed url and the xml itself

    Hello all.
I know this question has been answered before I think and I get most of the answer, BUT
I want to put my podcasts on the itunes lib and know that I have to submit the rss xml.
My issue is that I don't know where I put it physically.
I publish a web site thru iweb, no problem. If I add a blank page to the site and call the page "rss.xml", then add a text box to the page, then place the xml for the podcast in it. Will that work if i submit the entire URL to itunes?
I created the blank page and called the page rss.xml, then navigated to the page and in the address bar the last part of the URL was".html". That does not seem correct, but I am pretty much new to this so I am not sure.
    Please help if you can.
    Here is my website:
    http://web.mac.com/davescida/iWeb/Early_riser/rss.xml.html
I just don't know what I am doing wrong and I don't think it should be this hard...
    Thanks much
    Dave

I'm quite new to the whole podcast thing and it took me a while to wrap my head around exactly what and RSS feed is, how it works and what you do with it. I'm still learning.
However, here's what I do now: the XML file is like its own web page. You can't create a blank HTML document and just name it RSS feed or whatever. You need to either hand code the file or use an RSS feed creator program. There are some shareware programs that do that, but I am having difficulty with them. Think of the XML file as the exact same thing as an HTML file (web page). So you need to place the file on your web site or web srever that is hosting your podcast. For example, my podcast audio file is located inside a folder on my web site called "podcast". The XML file (RSS feed file) is also located inside that folder. Therefore the web address is: http://www.mysite.com/podcast/mypodcast.xml
That is what gets submitted to podcast directories and to iTunes. If it is created correctly, that XML document will contain ALL of the information needed to tell everyone about your podcast (description, etc.) and where the audio file actualy is so it can be downloaded automatically by iTunes.
    I hope this makes sense.

  • RSS/XML Feed Portlet

Under 4.5WS we had a number of portlets that were fed directly from internet XML feeds, such as moreover. Having upgraded to G6 it would appear that we can no longer do this in the same way.
I have been reading various posts referring to sample RSS feed portlets but cannot appear to find them either in these discussions or in the CodeSample area.
Can anybody provide a clearer pointer where we can get some sample/shared code to do this as we would rather not start from scratch. Ideally code that allowed for multiple feeds into the same portlet.
    Thanks,

Thank you Eric. Flattery will get you everywhere. ;-)
<marketing>Maybe we can discuss this further at BEAWorld. Are you going? If so, stop by our booth.</marketing>
If your time frame is more urgent, then let's talk on the phone soon. You have my number, I'm sure.
I like the idea of a general XML/Web crawler that uses XSTL to convert to some intermediate format and then crawls it into ALUI. That could work with almost any data source because you could go DB->XML+XST->Crawler->ALUI. If we insist upon the intermediate format being standard RSS (RDF), then we actually kill two birds with one stone. We just implement an RSS crawler and then tell clients of the service that if their XML is not in RDF, then they must provide an XST that transforms their XML to RDF and then we're good . . . .
I already have some nice RDF parsing code in C# -- you cool with that for our language/platform?

Trying to get the feed on this page through itunes. iTunes is saying that it couldn't find the rss.xml file.

It looks like you did not upload the folder called dsr, which is part of the url for the feed.

  • How can I find and edit the rss.xml feed made my iWed and .Mac?

    Thank you.

    What's your URL?

  • How can I get iWeb to regenerate my rss.xml file

I use Leopard/ iWeb to create a podcast. When published to the web, the podcast consists of two pages - a home page and an archive page. The home page contains the last 5 or so postings, and the archive page contains all the other postings. Both the home page and the archive page have "Subscribe" icons/links enabling folks to subscribe to my podcast (both icons/links point to same address). So far, all pretty standard stuff.
The focus of my problem is subscribe icon/link, or more accurately, the rss.xml file that it links to. In the past, the rss.xml feed would contain all my postings in the correct date order. Then I entered some new entries retrospectively (i.e. with dates a long time in the past) however they appear in the wrong place in the RSS feed. How can I force the RSS feed to show entries in correct date order?

    Hi,
I've asked for this post to be moved to the [iLife > iWeb Forum|http://discussions.apple.com/category.jspa?categoryID=188] for you as that is where you are more likely to get an answer.
    Regards,

  • Parameter is not working in HTTP( XML FEED) dataset in bi publisher 11g

    Hi,
I have used parameter in BI Publisher 10g for HTTP(XML Feed) dataset to have dynamic url which worked by using ${p_url} where p_url is the parameter.
The same procedure when I use in BI Publisher 11g is not working. It does not consider the parameter ${p_url} and throws the following exception
    *oracle.xdo.dataengine.datasource.plugin.DataAccessException: java.lang.Exception: java.net.MalformedURLException: no protocol: ${p_url}*
    Has anyone faced this issue?
Please let me know if am doing something incorrect here.
    Thanks &Regards,
    Balaji

    Thanks for your reply.
In BI Publisher 10 g we are using it this way ${p_url}.
p_url is the parameter which gives us the entire URL for the XML feed.
    e.g. p_url=http://rss.news.yahoo.com/rss/topstories
The p_url takes the entire url.
Please let me know if this can be done the same way in 11g.
    Thanks,
    Balaji

  • How to change a rss.xml file for m3u file for my podcast

    Bonjour,
I actually produce as well a podcast with unless 3 mp3 file, and that's ok ... But, on one of my post, I stream a playlist to a page of my website , and I noticed, after generating a playlist from my player when streaming (.m3u file)... I notice that I can play it in i tunes in a continuing stream (I can connect from this file in itunes on another post to my stream (note that I use a static IP from my access provider, in order to a stable connection to my web site - without using No IP) ...
My question is,as the application recognizing the file and playing it,how to configure my rss.xml for this type of file(*.m3u)...
    Thank you for replying

I don't think you are going to be able to do this: podcasts are not intended to contain streams or playlists, only specific audio or video files. The fact that the iTunes Application can connect to it doesn't mean that it will work in a podcast feed. However if you want to ask iTunes Support for advice it's at at
http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/ - click on 'Other iTunes Store Features' in the list and then on 'Podcasts'.

  • Override default RSS / Atom Feed

    Hi,
I have a created a base page for my app which inherits from the foundation/components/page. I want to customize the rss feed, so I have created the feed.jsp within the base page component of my app.
When I access the link http://localhost:4502/content/<app>/page.feed.rss.xml, the feed is rendered based on the OOB feed.jsp and not from the custom feed.jsp. What is going wrong here? Am I missing any configuration?
Also, is the feed & rss registed keywords? If so, where is it configured. Also instead of feed, I would like to use page.rss.xml or any other custom name, so how should it be configured? I tried creating a jsp (say hello.jsp) taking the code from feed.jsp, and when I access the url (page.hello.rss.xml) it does not get rendered. So what could be going wrong here.
    Thanks,
    Chetanya

    If you are requesting /page.feed.rss.xml - shouldn't you create a feed.rss.xml.jsp instead of simply a feed.jsp?

  • Disabling the xml feed as a canonical workaround

Hi I have a question and wondered if anyone can advise.
I am working on a jewellery site with 150ish products and multiple catalogs - 4 main ones (necklaces, earrings, bracelets & rings) and then many less important ones (beaded necklace, stretch bracelet etc)
Each product resides in many catalogs (eg 'Necklace A' can be found in catalog 'necklace' and 'beaded necklace' and 'sale jewellery). I want the main catalogs and subsequent products in these catalogs (eg necklace) to be the ones that google use (to avoid duplocate content etc).
I would have liked to use a Canonical tag but dont think BC supports these. My workaround was to disable the xml feed of all the 'less important' catalogs so that google only sees the 4 main catalogs.
Is this a good idea? Does anyone have any other suggestions? etc
    Suggestions will be warmly recieved.
    Thanks

    <cffeed>.
    For example, run the following
    <cffeed action="read"
    query="rssQuery"
    source="
    http://rss.news.yahoo.com/rss/topstories">
    <cfdump var="#rssQuery#">

  • RSS of FEED question?

I am trying to add the "startting pitchers" of a baseball
team to my website. I see many sites are using this same info on
their site but I can't figure out how they are doing it. The source
seems to be the team's homepage. I have an RSS feed already for
news but I am not sure how people are getting the starting pictures
headshots and stats for the upcoming games.
Here is the website that the info comes from:
www.redsox.com (its the portion on the right with the
    pitchers heads, and stats.
Here is a site that uses the same info:
    www.bornintoit.com
    Anybody have any ideas?
    Thank you!

The content (including images) can be "syndicated" using RSS
    web feeds all
right but not neccessarily so. Content can be syndicated
    using client-side
JavaScript or other methodologies such as an XML Web Service.

  • RSS photo feeds for screen saver

I have been trying to find a few good RSS photo feeds to add to the screensaver in Leopard but am not having any luck. The only one I could find was a Rolling Stone mag feed (http://www.rollingstone.com/rssxml/photos.xml) but the pics are really low res and display horribly. There must be other photo feeds to subscribe to. Anyone know a resource to check out or any personal favorites?

I was having a similar problem, the feed I wanted did not work in the "Mobile Me and RSS" photo screensaver. The website I wanted was <http://icanhascheezburger.com/> I was trying the link <feed://feeds.feedburner.com/ICanHasCheezburger> This is the link used by Safari and when used as a screensaver, it returns the error message "+Your selected subscriptions have no pictures...+" When you click the RSS link on the page it takes you to <http://feedproxy.google.com/ICanHasCheezburger> which when used in photo screensaver works fine.
