Moving average price  based on date range, site and article.

Hi ABAPers,
I am working on SKU wise sales report. Based on user input of date range ,site and article I fetch data from VBRP table i.e., (billing data from stores) . I have searched a lot to find MAP but dint get convincing solution.
I tried to get data from MBEW-VERPR but that doesnot give MAP for a given date. I also tried with condition record table and KONP table but not helpful.
I also got to know about s031 and LIS configuration I am not sure whether functional consultant should do the changes.
Kindly help me in obtaining the MAP for particular bill date, article and site(store).
Regards,
Dep

You can found the moving average price in MBEW (current) and MBEWH (history table)
The first goods movement after the period closing program updates the period in MBEW and writes the data of the previous period to table MBEWH
- If you actually need map on a daily (or less) basis, you will have to calculate it from MBEW, MBEWH, MSEG and BSIM (...)
- You could also look for the actual cost in MSEG related to records of VBRP.

  • Moving average price as on date

    Dear All,
Can any one tell me how can I find a moving average price of a material on a particular date?
Suppose I want to know what was the moving average price on 15/12/2007?
    What is the t.code?
    thanks & regards,
    Ramesh Balivada

What is the Price Control for the material for which you need the MAP?
If it is "M", you can get this straight off the MB5B report.
Say you need the price on 15 May 2008, enter the material number and plant, and in the dates, the from date can be anything before 15th May. The To date should be 15th May. Make sure the stock type is "Valuated Stock".
Execute the report. Divide the Ending Inventory Value by the Quantity.
If the Price Control is "S", get the moving average price for the previous month end (say April 2008) from MBEWH... the rest you need to figure it out!
    Cheers.

  • Moving average price based on valuation type for material

    Gurus help needed.
we want to maintain the moving average price of the material in the pricing, and this depends on the Valuation Type. We have 3 valuation types.
If valuation type is blank then one MAP(Moving average price) value will come and if nn one map will come and for nn one map will come.
We have copied VPRS conditon type to YVRP and changed conditon category as T( Moving cost).
But in pricing the YVRP price is not picking from valuation type which is blank.
Where can  i make the settings to tell the system to pick the moving average price from the material master where the valution type is blank always based on the condition.
Do we need to creat a routine? If so is there any standard routine which we can use or make minor changes to it?
If it is a new routine please tell me how to start with VOFM?
Note : We need the value to come automatically from material master same as VPRS.

    Hi
The first method is not to set the pricing condition VPRS as statistical.
Simply remove PR00 and it will work fine if you always use VPRS as your pricing base inside the pricing procedure.
VPRS will reads both prices based on the price control in the material master.
Price control S for standard price.
Price control T for moving average price.
It is this simple if you do not have any other "Prices" in the price procedure.
However, if you are using one pricing procedure where for some items you price using VPRS and some others using PR00, then you should use requirement routines to enable the correct price condition type at the right time.
The second method involves more work as you need to write a formula (VOFM) to get that information.
This is how it goes :-
    1. Set VPRS to be the first step in the pricing procedure and to be subtotal B (as standard).
    2. Set PR00 with alt. calc. type formula, which sets the value of PR00 to be equal to the subtotal B.
Step 1 VPRS statistical, subtotal B, reqt 4
    Step 2 PR00 Altcty 600

  • Moving average price as price control in material master: Erroneous entries

    Dear All,
Recently we did a price control change from standard price to moving average price for one of our clients and scenario testing was done. We came across the following issue at the IR point and this error occur  time to time ( not for all POs )Following steps were followed
    Scenario
    1. Create a PO for 1000 Kg of material A @ 1USD
2.GR the purchase order- at this point correct values are passed to stock account
3.consumed 250 Kg from the above material and from the same batch- correct values are passed to the accounts correctly
4.invoice verification is done for the above PO with a price variance of 100 USD. The error occur at this time ( some times )
    Correct entry:
    Dr GR/IR account 1000
Dr Stock account 75 (Price variance is charged proportionately charge to the balance stock)
Dr price variance 25 (Price variance is charged proportionately on the consumed stock)
    Cr Vendor 1100
But sometimes the value does not pass accurately for the same PO. Accounting entries are as follows.
( this is same scenario with new purchase order with different master records )
    Dr GR/IR account 1000
Dr Stock account 100 (Total price variance is charged to the stock account and its incorrect this should be only 75 as explain above )
    Cr Vendor 1100
This error occurs sometimes even though the vendor master record and purchase orders are sand same as the time of pass correct entries  . All these time GR based invoice verification tick has activated in PO as well as vendor master .
    Appreciate your advice.

Thank you for the information. But this is not the  system behavior , system proportionately add the price variance to the stock qty which is remaining in the stock also it proportionately charge the price variance to the price variance account which is consumed before the invoice verification. But time to time it passes the incorrect entries.
    eg , Create a PO for 100KG @ 1USD
           GR                     100KG
           Consumed           25
IR , here we IR at higher value than the PO price
         PO value is USD 100
        IR    value    USD 100 + 12 = 112
Correct IR entry : Vendor              CR    112
                                 GR/IR                 Dr    100
Stock                 DR      8 ( 75% of the stk is reaming in stk so relevant variance is USD 8 )
Price variance   DR      4  ( 25% of the consumed , so relevant variance is USD 4 )
And this is accurate with accounting principles and standards .
Actually system correctly calculate the above entries  . but some times it pass the incorrect entry , this is my issue.
In the  erroneous entry it does not segregate the price variance , If we consider the same scenario as above at the time of erroneous entry the system pass entries as below:
                                Vendor              CR    112
                                 GR/IR                 Dr    100
Stock                 DR     12 ( add 100% which is incorrect )
    This is incorrect .

  • PROBLEM WITH MOVING AVERAGE PRICE

    Hi,
Correct me if I’m wrong, but from what I know the moving average price should only change or be recalculated when purchases or goods_recipts are made, otherwise items should be consumed at a FIXED moving average price (cost).
I´ve noticed when looking into the Inventory Audit Report that the moving average price is changing in my installations and I see that SAP BO recalculates it every time an issue is made. This last thing only happens when the total amount of the transaction is rounded or left with 0 decimals and the other types such as prices, rates, quantities, percent, etc. are left with 2 or 3 decimals.
Because of my country settings, the total amount has to have 0 decimals (I live in Chile and we don’t have cents in our currency) and the moving average price of an Item should not change when an issue is made, can you help me with this?
Thanks and best regards to you all.
    Fernando

    Hi Nagesh,
Thank you for your quick response.
I understand what you say, but moving average price should not change when an issue is made and that´s what is bothering us.
The difference between what it shoud be and what SAP BO is calculating is our concern, ie: let´s say the number of transactions is 100, would that difference be negligible?
    Here is an example:
    Goods issue:
    SO 8     11     -10,49     166,67     -1.748     99,35     16.559
    SO 9     11     -10,49     166,673     -1.748     88,86     14.811
    SO 10     11     -10,49     166,678     -1.748     78,37     13.063
    SO 11     11     -10,48     166,684     -1.747     67,89     11.316
    SO 12     11     -10,56     166,681     -1.760     57,33     9.556
Note that coma (,) is decimal separation and period (.) is the mile separator.
Where the 3rd line is the quantity of the goods issue, the 4th is the moving average, and the 5th is the total quantity of the issue.
So you see 10,49 x 1748 = 1748,39977= 1748(SAP) and then SAP BO recalculates the AVG. Price.
The problem I was talking about was the difference of the stock AVG Price with one hundred transactions or so... now the difference seems negligible (166,7 - 166,681 = 0,011).
Can you see it changes?, is that a bug?
    Thank you
    Fernando

  • Affects on moving average price

Let's talk about the affect on the moving average price please.
Does my MM, and Contract and PO and Invoice price all have to match in order for the moving average price to be accurate?

if you till have stock when the invoice with a different value is posted, then the difference is posted to stock and  the MAP is adjusted. If you have no stock anymore, then the difference is posted to a difference account.
about which goods issue and payment  are you talking?
goods issue to a delivery to a customer? payment from customer?
No you dont necessarily need a goods issue to collect payment. depending on customizing of your business processes you can do order related billing and collect the money as precondition for a goods issue.

  • Moving average price calculation based on year to date figures

    Hello,
I've been working for months on the stock valuation at month end closing for the Finance department. We discover a situation where the moving average price is not calculated as we expected.
    The situation is as follows:
2 purchase orders for the same material at different periods and with different purchase order prices
the invoice of the first pruchase order has been recorded after the good receipts of the 2 purchase orders with purchase price variance, good issues have been recorded between the good receipts and the first invoice receipt, therefore the stock quantity is lower than the quantity invoiced
the invoice of the second purchase order has been recorded as well with price purchase variance after the first invoice and after good issues, therefore the stock quantity is lower than the quantity invoiced.

    - When the second inoice is recorded, SAP should calculate the MAP this way: (2000*11+10000*9,5+20000*7)/(2000+10000+20000) = 8,03
Could you tell me if you know how to set up the calculation based on this formula (Intial stock value at MAP + Year to date Purchasing value) divided by (intial stock quantity + quantity purchased)?
    Thank you in advance

    Arti,
MBEWH table will get you the MAP of a material monthwise,I guess you need to get the logic which will use those details to arrive on MAP for a paritcular date.
Check the SDN Forums with the keyword "MOVING AVERAGE PRICE REPORT" to get some lead.

  • Goods Receipt Amount based on PO price instead of moveing average price

Is it possible to customise SAP so that the amount in Goods Receipt transactions is calculated based on quantity * PO price instead of quantity * moving average price?
    Thanks.

    Thanks for your reply.
    Standard SAP functionality:
    1. When material ledger is active, the GR amount is based on pre-GR moving average price.
    2. When material ledger is not active, the GR amount is based on PO price.
We use the material ledger but want the GR transactions to record the amount based on PO price.
    Any suggestions?

  • Moving average price has become Zero

    Hi,
Can you please help us , if you have any ...this kind of situation in your projects.
    Scenerio:
We are using Workflow mechanism for creation material in Master data client
    01. After creation of Material, it will go for approval (to six departments in SAP Itself ) and after their approvals,it will be moved to "Book of Records"( to Transactional client)
02.If the requester is submit the Material for approvals, it will create IDOC and will be moved to "Book of Records"( to Transactional client).
03.If any error is there in the Material views, IDOC will be failed in Outbond system( Transactional client)
in this case.We use BD10 to move the changes manually.
    Problem is,
01.We moved manually 10 materials on 29/10/2008 through BD10 to Transactional client .in this case, we observed that, the moving average price(VERPR) ,Commercial price 2 (BWPH1),and Moving average price (if the price control is S) (SALKV) has become Zero.
    Why ?
Why this 3 fields become Zero ?
Is there any link between these fields and How ?
Note: Price control "S" is maintained to the above all the materials.
Can any body help us to find out the reason ?
*What is the solution to find the Moving average price now and to update as on date ?
Is there any field , we can see the Moving average price in backend ?*
Your help will be highly appreciated.

    Thanks for your answers, But..
There is a problem that we are supporting to China and they have a local ledger and they will calculate the actual costing based on tha moving price. Now these 10 Materials are Finished goods and are available in 30 plants each.
Taking the MAP from the each plant and calucating it ... is very problem and headache Job .
    My question is ....
How it got deleted and why ?
Is there any relation between these three fileds ?
Easiest way of collecting the MAP ?
Any thought  will get the appreciation..
    Thanks

  • Moving Average Price from CO-PA

    Hi there,
Apparently in my client`s scenario, the Moving Average Price of Material is best captured from CO-PA instead of the Material Master itself.
Can anyone shed some light on this please ?
If someone has experience in this, please let me know which CO-PA Extractor gives me the MAP Value for a Material

    hi,
If you talking about extracting data to BW from CO-PA and calculating the moving average price or picking up a price field, then, there is no standard extractor. You will need to set up CO-PA for extraction in BW.
The sad news is that as the CO-PA tables in R/3 are based on customer specific scenario, fields would differ and there is no standard field structure.  You will need to build the data source from scratch.  The good news is that SAP has a brilliant How to document on CO-PA extraction.  Follow the link below for more details.

  • Moving Average Price for Sales stock and Project stock of a material

    Hiya Gurus,

  • Updation of Moving Average Price

    Dear Experts,
My MM period is open for 2 months (i.e for July and August Now) . One of our raw material is Limestone.
From July 1st there were several Receipts and Issues of limestone in SAP.
In August 9th our survey team found that in our stock we have 25000 TON limestone excess. (Due to Callibiration error)
i.e If the current stock in system was 10000  TON the real Physical stock in storage was 10000 + 25000 TON.
We have created a Free of Cost PO for 25000 TON to account the excess quantity of Limestone in Stock.
MIGO Goods Receipt for the Free of Cost PO was done on 31.07.2011.
Because of the extra 25000 TON Free of Cost Limestone Receipt the Moving Average Price of the Material got Updated. (But only from 09-August-2011 not from 31-July-2011)
I want system to calculate the new moving average price and update all the documents posted from 31-July-2011. MY MM period is not closed.
Is it possible to do so and how. Please Help.
    Thanks

    Hi
The physical inventory is carried out on the basis of stock management units.A stock management unit is a non-divisible part of a stock of materials for which a seperate book inventory exists.A stock management unit is uniquely defined by
    Material
    Plant,storage location
    Stock type
    Batch
    Special Stock
Each stock management unit of a material is counted seperately, and the inventory diffreneces are posted per stock management unit.
The physical inventory process comprises three phases
    1)Creation of physical inventory documents(MI01)
    2)Entry of Count(MI04)
    3)Posting the difference(MI07)
1)In the first phase ,you create the physical inventory documents.SAP systems provide several procedures for mass-generation of PI documents. After selecting the stocks to be counted and creating the PI documents, you print out the documents in order to start the counting process.A physical inventory document cotains data that include
    >The plant and storage location in which the count has to take place
    >The date on which the count has to take place
    >The materials to be counted
    >the stock types to be counted
    >The status of the item
    >The status of the PI document
When creating a PI document, you can specify a physical inventory nuber in the document header. This physical inventory number facilitates selection of the PI documents to be processed during entry of the count data, posting the diffrences, and in evaluations.
2)Entering the physical inventory count:For the physical inventory count, you must print out the PI document and forward it to persons responsible for the count. You can enter the stock figures in the system with and without reference to a PI document. When entering the physical inventory count, you can enter a percentage variance of the count quantity from the book inventory, above which the system issues a warning message.
3)You can post the inventory diffrences either via list of differences or via seperate transactions. When an inventory difference is posted, the system creates a material document and corrects the stock figures, and an accounting document recording the necessary accounting movements.
Hope this will be helpful for you.

  • Moving Average Price---Intercompany sales process

    Hi,
I have a special requirement in Intercompany process..
I want the Ordering company to be charged  with Moving Average Price of the Material instead of the Normal Price.
Can some on help me out with this?
    Thanks,
    Challa.

    Hi,
In general i hope, system will not copy the moving average price from the material master through VPRS Condition.  In case its not copied then you need to write the logic in alternative condition coloum to copy the moving averate price.
Please confirm whether VPRS is working for moving average price, if not then develop the logic as below -
based on Material and plant, go to table MBEW with selection as MATNR and WERKS bring the value from the field VERPR where VPRSV=V.
Plese confirm for my knowledge also

  • Moving average price and returns to vendor

    Hello gurus,
I’ve got a question concerning material valuation and returns to vendor.
E.g. we have got 200 pieces of a material with a moving average price of 2 $ each.
Now, what happens if I return 100 of those to my vendor who pays 2.10$ each for them?
In my view, there are several possibilities:
    - Nothing happens, the moving average price is not changed at all, value of the goods is 200$ afterwards.
    - New value of the goods is 400$ - (100 * 2.10$) = 190 $. This would mean that the moving average price is 1.90 $.
    - Last delivered price was e.g. 2.20$, more than 100 pieces were delivered, so the new value of the goods is 400$ - (100 * 2.20$) = 180$, new moving average price is 1.80$.
So my question is: What is standard in SAP?
    Thanks
    Jens

This is what my thought is
When you return the material to vendor then system take the same valuation as your MAP
and when you buy new goods then it will count based on the
e.g. existing stock is 100 and value is 1000 means valuation is 10 a peice
in you but another 100 at 1200 then valuation is 2200/200 = 11
When a material is subject to moving average price control, the system calculates values for goods movements in the following way:
