Thanks for your answer Dave,
As far as I can see we have an old GWIA from GW6 and an external domain with an old external GWIA in it which is no longer in use.
I am not able to tell you more about our GW system as I'm new in this company and only heared from my colleagues that they don't know really what will happen after the removal of those objects. So my boss decided that I will have to create a completely new system and switch over to it.
After he is back from vacation I will talk to him again. Maybe he will change his mind and allows me to update and clean up the old system.

  • Old Exchange 2007 is not moving MAPI clients to new server

    Good Afternoon all,
I am in the process of moving from exchange 2007 to 2010.  I thought I read somewhere that Outlook will figure out in the background that there is a new exchange box and when I've moved everyone to it that Outlook clients will automatically be mapped
to the new server.  I have moved 5 people over and all 5 did not re-map to the new exchange server.  I even tried closing/re-opening the app and rebooting the computer.  Did I miss a step somewhere?  Thanks in advance as I have 160 mailboxes
to move over.  I'd like to do it gradually if the system will allow me to rather than do it all in one go.
    Thanks
    David
EDIT--  My mobile users that I have moved are also reporting not getting email on their phones.  Mix of iphones and droid.  Tried rebooting and re-installing the Exchange profile.  Seems as though external access breaks as well.

    Hi There!!!!
In Exchange 2010, clients do not connect directly to the mailbox role, they go through the
CAS role, so it sounds like you need to set the RPCClientAccessServer to point to the new Exchange 2010 server.
    Do this via PowerShell :
    GET-MAILBOXDATA | SET-MAILBOXDATABASE -RPCCLIENTACCESSSERVER <FQDN OF NEW CAS SERVER>
But as you have 160 mailboxes to migrate , which would be quite time consuming and needs lots
of efforts, so rather than opting manual way for migration  I would refer you to do this using any professional Migration Software like Stellar Mailbox Extractor for Exchange Server, which can perform the Migration of 160 mailboxes in quick time.

  • Moving mail to a new server

In my case, it is somewhat simple because I have only one account. But, in general, how do you move mail from one server to another? I have tons of messages still in the imap server that somehow need to get other to the new server.
The other sticking point is I have only one license. So I can't run both imap servers at the same time. In fact, I pretty much have to shutdown the current server just to work on the new server.
    Thanks

hi - i just did this - found a script called imapsync (http://www.linux-france.org/prj/imapsync/). you can run it using this bash script:
    #!/bin/bash
    USER=$1
    PASSWORD=$2
    1MAILSERVER="";
    2MAILSERVER="";
    /usr/bin/imapsync "Junk|Deleted\ Messages" --host1 $1MAILSERVER mail server> --user1 $USER --password1 $PASSWORD --host2 $2MAILSERVER --user2 $USER --password2 $PASSWORD --syncinternaldates

  • Moving FlexBuilder 4 web app in a new server (hosting provider)

I am trying to install a test web app (very simple) which reads data from Mysql (using PHP) and populate a datagrid. It works in my computer, but when I moved it to the new server no data is populated and no error poped up (I have done the changes in the amf.config.ini and the Zend files are well installed). I had installed successfully another small app (FB4) in the same server, but the problem with this one is that has a superclass for the data service and I don't know how to change the connections parameters (user id, password, database and server) since I don't know where are them. Am I missing any step or is something I have to do in source before the app is compiled. Highly appreciate any help.
    Thanks

    Hello EZ;
Is the problem that you are having with the new app this ...
the problem with this one is that has a superclass for the data service and I don't know how to change the connections parameters (user id, password, database and server) since I don't know where are them.
If so, these parameters are in your php class (like you had in your other post in CoursesServices.php) not in FlashBuilder.

  • Migrating to new server: advice! :)

    Hi!
My current GroupWise 2012 SP2 server is a SuSE 10 SP4 and I need to migrate to a new server!
I currently have 5% disk space left and have ordered additional drives, but while I'm going through the hassle and word is Windemere is not going to be supported on SuSE 10, I've decided to set-up and configure a new server.
This is my plan (this is my first migration) so any suggestions, advice, LOOKOUT FORs, would be welcome with open arms!
The current GroupWise server is a virtual machine on XenServer 6.1 with a NAS attached.
After I install the addition drives, here is my plan of attack:
    1. Start up a new SuSE 11 SP2 server.
Notes: The old GroupWise server had a 20 GB disk allocated: 502 MB for /boot and 17.4 GB for / and 2.0 swap
GroupWise files are mounted at /var/opt/novell/groupwise with a 750 GB allocation (it's 83 Linux native).
I think I will double that (40 GB allocation) for room to grow.
Question: What would you recommend LVM or NSS for the partition that will hold GroupWise?
(I will have about 2 TB to work with).
    2. Install GroupWise on the new server with the same po/domain name as 'old' server?
    3. Install eDirectory on the new server and bring it into a new tree.
    4. Perform a Gwava Reload migration.
    5. Shutdown eDirectory on 'old' server, backup and restore on new server, then shutdown old server, reboot new server after modifying server name & IP to match old server.
    6. Run DSRepair to insure new server is in sync.?
    Comments welcome! Stan

Maybe you can do the follow, if you have a small downtime.
1 .Stop GW, make a "chkconfig grpwise off", change IP of the server, reboot and configure the old IP as a secondary(with yast). Then you can start GW again(and "chkconfig grpwise on)".
    2. Install a new server with a new name and new IP in the tree.
    3. Install the GW-Agents on the new server and copy the config-files (*.poa,*.mta, web?, gwia?, /etc/opt/novell/...gwha.conf) from the old server, and "chkconfig grpwise off"
    4. In XEN you can expand the 750GB VOL and then the ext3 or you create a new VOL in XEN and mount it on the same place (/var/opt/novell/groupwise) BACKUP before expand !!
    5. If you have a new VOL make simply a rsync to the new VOL, online for the first time
    6. Online-Rsync(with delete-option) you can make ever day to see the consumed time, you can use also dbcopy, but this didnt delete old files
    7. On Day X you stop GW on old server, make a final rsync (or dbcopy, if you like)
    8. remove secondary IP from old server and configure this IP as a secondary to the new server.
    9. start GW (if you use gwmonitor its easy to configure it new with the install of GW)
    Similar "IP-mechanism" use a GW-Cluster.
In XEN you can make (or you have) a separate network to check this after the first rsync. Switch the server to this network, give the seconday IP and start GW and check the gw-logs and/or start GW with X-Window, if you have runlevel 5 or xming.
Because you have today > 750GB you should think about a second Postoffice, because the handling of big volumes(Backup, Snapshot,...)
That you can make after moving to the new server. Simply build a 2. GW-Server, create a second PO with C1 (or you wait to windermere ??) and move some user.
A Client with the old IP that moved on the new PO is automatically redirected.

  • Move Adobe Connect 7.5 to new server hardware

What is the process for moving Adobe Connect to new server hardware. We are currently running Adobe Connect Pro 7.5 (7.5.1.0.100) on a Win2K3 SP2 server. We would like to move Connect over to new server hardware running Win2K8 R2 (64-bit). The Connect database will remain on a separate Win2K3 SP2 / SQL 2005 sp4 server.
Unless it will pose a problem, the NETBIOS computer name will be different. However, the IP address and FQDN will remain the same.
What is the recommended procedure for doing this?
PS - Shortly after moving to new hardware, we plan to upgrade to Connect 8. Is it better to upgrade first, then move to new hardware? Or vice-versa?

    Hi,
moving to new hardware is basically a new install on the new server, then moving over backed up content, then reconnecting to the database.
It makes no difference if you upgrade first and then move hardware or move first and then upgrade. I'd move first and make sure Connect works fine on the new hardware, then upgrade.
Here are some steps that should work.
    1. make sure your new hardware, OS and SQL Server are supported
         http://help.adobe.com/en_US/connect/8.0/installconfigure/connect_8_install.pdf
(for 7.5 check the requirements here: http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobatconnectpro/systemreqs/#proserver )
    2. Take a backup of your current content directory and all customised config files.
(the config files will be a reference to restore SSL or other modifications, do not just move them back in once upgraded).
    3. Take a backup of your database and make sure you know the login and password to your SQL server.
    4. Stop the services on the old server
    5. If also moving DB, attach your DB backup to the new SQL host.
    6. Install Connect on the new hardware.
    7. Do not start the services yet, first restore the backed up content.
    8. start the services, bring up the console and connect to the DB.
    9. check your settings in the console, a restart might be required first.
    10. Does the login page load?
    11. Follow the install guide from step 1 to re-apply SSL config if required (in Connect 8 this is done slightly different than in C7)
Changing the windows machine name, can cause trouble, not always, but it's easiest to just re-use the name on the new hardware.
If that's not an option, an entry in the conenct DB needs to be updated:
    http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/407/kb407446.html
I am fairly certain these steps will work, but cannot test this and I do not know your exact environment, so I can give no guarantee this will work. It is always good to just test the move to new hardware and if things go wrong, bring the old system back into production and contact support.
    Good luck!

  • New server installation SBS 6.5

We will be installing a new server with NSBS 6.5. Our old server has
been upgraded since the days of Netware 3.12. I am thinking about
installing NSBS 6.5 from scratch from our CD's and then patching to get
it up date, then bringing the data over from the old machine.
If this is workable, can I install just the most recent patch(es), or
do I have to install all the service packs since the beginning ?
    Kevin
    girbeaud

Just got a email from Dell that our server shipped. Almost 2 weeks
ahead of schedule. So now I need to plan everything out. What I am
thinking about doing is going from everything on the old server to:
    OLD SERVER:
    - Keep it running NSBS 6.5
    - Keep certain volumes such as the CDSERVER (a hard drive containing
CD installation files for software programs, drivers, etc.), online
archives, etc. - things that we have multiple backups of which don't
need redundancy or frequent access to.
    - Keep the PowerVault SDLT Tape Drive & Arcserve running on this
server. Our existing tape drive works fine, but may not be
compatible inside the new server. It currently has the capacity for
all of our files. If ever the new server actually fills up before we
need to replace it, we may need another backup solution for the new
    server one day.
    NEW SERVER:
    - Install another installation of NSBS 6.5
    - Install SYS, PROJECTS, and MAIL volumes, as well as any other
volumes necessary (Bordermanager cache, Web logs, etc)
    - Run most services from the new server, including Bordermanager,
    Groupwise, GWAVA, etc.
If this scenario would work, would I just do a fresh installation of
Netware on the new server, installing the products from the products CD
afterward as if we were installing NW for the very first time ? Then
we would simply copy data and settings to the new server & once things
were up and running, remove them from the old server ? Based on our
situation, I didn't think that migration utilities, etc were applicable
to keeping the old server in use... Thanks!

  • Install Second Primary Server in a 11.3.1 FRU1 zone

Hi I'm having a weird problem with installing a second PS in to a upgraded singel PS zone. I just got the singel server upgraded to 11.3.1 FRU1/SLES11.3 and database on MSSQL 2012.
That is working great, no issues with the singel server.
But when I try to install the new server as a PS to the existing zone I get this error, "This version of ZENworks is not compatible with the version (10.3.0) found in the zone"...10.3.0 ???
I tried to look for any clueds in the ZenServerVersion.xml file after finding TID7014023, https://www.novell.com/support/kb/doc.php?id=7014023. The file says 11.3.1 in the file.
Why do I get the 10.3.0. message and how can I correct this?
    Any Ideas?

    Kkb,
I can confirm this happens - if you can open a SR with Novell, that's
the quickest way to get this moving - meanwhile I will report it to

  • Migrating Netscape Directory Server 4.1 to a new server

    Hi,
In the current production environment, we are using Netscape Directory Server 4.1 as the authentication with Siebel CRM system. The server hardware is old and there is a need to refresh the server. As Netscape Directory Server is the only supported/ certified LDAP with embedded functionalities in Siebel Financial Services 6.0.2.300, we are planning to upgrade only the server hardware and migrate all the user information from old server and the new one, with Netscape Directory Server 4.1 remained.
I have studied the Netscape Directory Server 4.1 Deployment Guide and gone through the migration procedures, looks like the procedures are only applicable for migrating Netscape Directory Server to a newer version. There are no specific procedures mentioned for migrating Netscape Directory Server to the new server hardware with the same directory server version.
I am seeking for detailed procedures of migrating Netscape Directory Server 4.1 to a new server hardware with the same directory server. Anyone has done this migration before? I thank you in advance for your valuable feedback.
    Sincerely,
    Julie

Luckily, I have the technical documentation in hand, which contains all the configuration of the current server. So I need to use "db2ldif" to export the data. I am currently testing on the migration by following these steps:
    1. Install the new server.
    2. Stop the Netscape Directory Server and Netscape Administration Server services in old server.
    3. Copy the slapd-<server_name> folder from old server to a temp location of new server.
    4. Take the old server offline.
    5. Configure new server to have the exact configuration as the old server.
    6. Backup the existing slapd-<server_name> folder in new server, copy the slapd-<server_name> folder from the temp location to C:\Netscape\Server4 directory of new server.
    7. Start the Netscape Directory Server and Netscape Administration Server services in new server.
Will try out your suggested method. Thank you so much for your feedback.

  • Recovering andrestoring of database in new server after current server fail

    Hi,
If we have a disaster ,where the Database server has gone and we can not use it again.
    1) We do not have dataguard.
    2) We have rman backup file of 2 days before (Full database backup). Rman backup with nocatalogue
    3) Flashback log files of 2 days back
    3) Archive log till yesterday
    4) Export file of morning.
Can we be able to restore and recover our database in new server
    if yes then how.
Because RMAN Backup has its DBID and the new Oracle software which i install on new server will be installed with new ID.
Please help me understanding this thing (About target database)
    Regards

First of all, you should install the software on the server only, you should NOT create a database.
As you can restore a database to a new host (and this is documented), you won't have any problems. That is, if you don't create a database during installation, and read up on recovery.
I wonder: why do all those anonymous users always can't be bothered to read the documentation, and ask others to paraphrase it for free?

  • Grafting GroupWise objects to new tree, new Domain and new PO

    Hello,
I have a fully functional GroupWise system that is running fine but running low on space. I built another server for testing purposes before I decided to build a new one for production. The test server has a copy of my GroupWise production server located in a folder called bak. I built and created a test GroupWise system that has no users.
Here is my question, if I were to use the Grafting utility, connect to the bak GroupWise system, change my paths to match the backup location and proceed to graft the objects to the new test PO and Domain, will I lose the original objects (like a cut and paste) or will it graft the objects (like a copy and paste) with out nothing lost from the original location?

In my Test system I have a Primary Replica and a GroupWise server that contains a working GroupWise system. I restored a copy of my current GroupWise data on the test GroupWise server in a folder called test_backup. Once again the test GroupWise server is working but with a different GroupWise system name from my current GroupWise system name and with no users but the POA and MTA are working.
Is there anyway I can use the data from the backup GroupWise system put it in the test GroupWise system that has a different GroupWise system name?
Well... if this is going to be just for testing you could unload the agents on your test system, use NwAdmin (or ConsoleOne without Groupwise snapins) to remove/cleanup all the Groupwise objects in your test tree and graft the new/copied system in.
That should be fine, as long as you remove all previous Groupwise objects in the test system.
It won't work to graft a new system in where an existing system is still in place.
After regrafting change the paths in your eDirectory objects, the listed ip's... etc, and reconfigure the agents with the correct home parameters. Then you can launch them to see if it all works.
For a test this should work and it will give you a good indication of how long it should take you with the real migration.
In the real scenario always start with a clean tree where possible.
