Moving information from InDesign to MS Sql
My customer's print catalog is produced using InDesign. I need to move most of that information into a MS SQL database. I addition to the text, table layout and image names, I need to capture the format information.
Before I started working on this, the designer tagged the file for export to XML. This does a good job of identifying which element is which. I can easily find item numbers and item descriptions within a Story. However, all the text looks the same. There isn't any Bold, font sizes, color, paragraphs, etc.
Below is the XML output.

It should look like:

As you can see, I have lost all color information, font sizing, font styling, special characters (trademark) and paragraph delineation.
Is there a way to Export all of this data?
Or can I programmatically access it using a VBScript? What sort of database does InDesign use?
In framing your answers please understand that I have never seen InDesign. I am a VB programmer. Do not assume I know how to find options in the menus. I realize I will have to familiarize myself with InDesign. I am hoping the direction I receive here will help me know where to begin.

Moving information from Blackberry to Computer
The frame of my tracking ball popped off and I'm recieving a new phone via mail. I called support and they said I needed to transfer the information from my Blackberry to my computer to save what I have on my phone so I can put it in my new phone. Can anyone tell me how to do that?

New HP Pavillion All-in-one PC 20-b014 ( and moving information from old computer)

I apologize if this has been asked before....but would appreciate some assistance.
I currently have a HP Pavilion Slimline s5310y desktop PC (running Windows 7) and just purchased the HP Pavillion All-in-one PC 20-b014(Windows 8). I was wondering if it was possible to migrate some of my information directly from my old computer to my new computer. If not, what would be the best/easiest way to move some of the current information (Turbo tax folders and Itunes) to my new computer.
My knowledge base in this process is limited, so if it can be explained in a "For Dummies" fashion, it would be greatly appreciated.

I do not know how to import this file into sql server.

you could use the Database Gateway for MS SQL Server, create a database link that uses the gateway, and then transfer the data from Oracle to SQL Server using in SQLPlus a command like the following:
copy from scott/tiger@ora102 -
insert TEST1@dg4msql -
using select * from test1@ora102 ;
Another solution is using a PL/SQL block, and how to do it is described in the following note in My Oracle Support:
"Insert Into Remote Table Select * From Local Table" Gives Error ORA-02025 Using DG4MSQL (Doc ID 790572.1)
I don't know whether it is the "best way to do it", but it is an alternative.
For inserting a flat file into SQL Server you really need to check with Microsoft. Or you can use 3rd party software: http://www.dbload.com/

Moving information from one e-mail address to another (Thunderbird)
I am trying to, if possible, move information such as (address book, messages, etc.) from an existing e-mail address to a new e-mail address. For example, [email protected] has all the data and information that I need. [email protected] is where I want to copy that data.
I have been trying to copy and replace the files for the correct folder but every time I restart Thunderbird, it does not load the appropriate information. Is there a way to do this at all?Thanks for you reply! I see how you can copy/move e-mails from one account to another.
Here is what I did for the folders:
I created a new folder destination and pointed the local directory in the server settings to that location. Then, I copied the .msf and other files from one account to the new folder I created for the new account. When I restart Thunderbird though, it just recreates those files. I am assuming it is basing it on what it's retrieving from the server itself.
I guess to make everything clearer, I will highlight the problem that I am trying to solve right now. The situation is this: We have our e-mails hosted by a certain platform. They will be closing down soon and so I am trying to back up the data from those emails through Thunderbird. As we move on to a new platform, we will be creating fresh e-mail addresses. What I'd like to do is take the data from those previous accounts and copy them over to the to-be-created ones. My assumption was that I can do this by copy pasting the information in the folder for one account to another.
So, for example, I have a folder under ImapMail called TEST which contains all the data from my current e-mail. Upon connecting a new account, a new folder called TEST2 will be generated. I assumed it was as easy has copying the files under TEST and replacing the existing ones in TEST2 with the copied files.. but that does not seem to work.

we formatted Database server and restored all the databases from the backup. but the sharepoint site is giving below error when i access the home page.

According to your post, my understanding is that you failed to access sharepoint site with one application server.
It was due to the MOM/SCOM Agent that has a SharePoint management pack installed, the agents Windows Service runs as ‘Local System’ and thus causes this.
The workaround is to either kill the SCOM agent service, or set it to run as a dedicated service account.
In addtion, I recommend to add the logon account of the SharePoint Timer service as a user of the SharePoint_Config database. Give role membership to the account db_owner.
You also need to add the SharePoint accounts back into sql server.

SP 2013 Server + Dec 2013 CU. Upgrading from SharePoint 2010.
We have a web application that is distributed over 7-8 content databases from SharePoint 2010. All but one database are upgradable. However, one database gives:
Invalid object name 'Webs'.
while running Test-SPContentDatabase or Mount-SPContentDatabase.
EventViewer has the following reporting 5586 event Id:
Unknown SQL Exception 208 occurred. Additional error information from SQL Server is included below.Invalid object name 'Webs'.

Did the sentence you mean only one database not upgrade to SharePoint 2013 and given the error?
One or more of the following might be the cause:
Insufficient SQL Server database permissions
SQL Server database is full
Incorrect MDAC version
SQL Server database not found
Incorrect version of SQL Server
SQL Server collation is not supported
Database is read-only

How to show information from sql to flash cs6 in textbox
I am having trouble with the showing of result of the information from sql to flash cs6 textbox which is dynamic text.

My farm consists of 2 app servers, 2 wfes & 2 sql nodes.
My public site is working fine. Authentication is NTLM.

As I understand, you found event id 3351 in event log. Please collect more information as below：
Check if the error also occurs on other servers in your farm.
Check if backup job is scheduled at the time when the event id occurs.
Please run Config Wizard or psconfig.exe -cmd secureresources on all servers and test the issue again.

How to get information from desktops into SQL?
Hello Everyone,
I could use some help with an idea that I have been working on. I basically am looking for a way to capture information from desktops and get that data into a SQL database. Could anyone give me any links, kb articles, etc on how I can go about doing this?

with this information.

This is the error, if often find in my WFE's. I googled for the error and granted DB owner roles for the service account as specified in TechNet, but no luck.
Even same error logs generated on SharePoint logs.

BadriFor SharePoint to recognize the SQL server name we provide its name and instance while installing SharePoint. When we are using SQL alias to connect to SQL, we need to configure the same alias on SharePoint server so that SharePoint recognize alias over
the network.
Having SharePoint connect to a SQL Alias instead of the NetBIOS name is always a good idea. The main benefit is, if you ever have to switch the SQL Server or connect to a SQL Cluster VIP address, you just change the Alias to point to the SQL Cluster name
on the SharePoint Server and restart the SharePoint Timer Service and you are good to go.

Script information out of a particular layer from Indesign
I am trying to create a simple script which will point to an Indesign CS3 document and extract the information from a particular layer..... I am having a tough time. I know you can script pretty much anything :-)
You have to open a document to be able to script it. I would first start with an open document and if this works open documents of a particular folder for example.
Try something like this:

Export cross-references and hyperlinks from InDesign to Word?

I am wondering if it is possible to export text from InDesign (CS5) to Word (2010) keeping all cross-references active?
This would be really nice if so as we do a lot of translations for literature and need to keep moving back and forth with editors using Word.
