Mozilla-thunderbird 0.7.3 problem

Since I upgraded to version 0.7.3, I can't download messages anymore. I start up thunderbird, and the logo to the right side is turning around (the program is performing an operation) and the status bar says 'no new messages on the server' but I 'm 100% sure that there ARE new messages waiting to be downloaded.
I tried to stop thunderbird, and press the button 'get mail', and the logo started turning around again, and the statusbar said "connected to pop.skynet.be" but nothing happens...
What could it be?

I found what is wrong with TB..
I needed to delete
/opt/mozilla-thunderbird/lib/thunderbird-0.6/components/libgkplugin.so /opt/mozilla-thunderbird/lib/thunderbird-0.6/components/plugin.xpt
and the problem went away.

Problem with Powerbuilder MAPI / Mozilla Thunderbird / Tobit David

Hello,
since PB 12.6 (Build 4035) we have problems using the "mailsession" object with programs like "Mozilla Thunderbird" or "Tobit David".
Although e.g. Mozilla is the default email client on the users computer, the mailsession object always tries to send mails using Outlook.
With PB 12.5 it worked as it should.
I read that you changed the mailsession object to "extended mapi". Do we have to rewrite our code to send mails with Mozilla again?
We send mails like that:

Hi Stefan,
Engineering did get back to me and they will implement a fix to check whether the default client supports Extended MAPI and if not, use SImple MAPI.   I've opened CR 781930 to add this check into the MAPI implementation.
As these are not email clients we use, could you please export the registry entries for these mail clients from this registry key below.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Clients\Mail
Please rename the .reg files to .txt and attach them here.

Mozilla Thunderbird automatic updating is not working at all. How to fix the problem ?

I have Mozilla Thunderbird on a Windows 7 computer. Mozilla Thunderbird does not update automatically to the latest version. In settings, I have enabled automatic updating of course. How to fix the problem ? I have Mozilla Thunderbird 17.0.8. on my computer at the moment.

Clipboard and Mozilla Thunderbird

I can't create a Transrerable object, using text/html, that Thunderbird composer can read. If I copy someth�ng from the Thunderbird composer, run the following lines
Toolkit tk = Toolkit.getDefaultToolkit();
Clipboard cb = tk.getSystemClipboard();
cb.setContents(cb.getContents(null), null);
and tries to past it back in the composer, nothing happens. (Paste whithout formatting, however, works). It's no problem to paste to Word, Excell och Outlook.

For a while I was using Entourage but decided to move
to Mozilla Thunderbird and it's been ok but now I
want to move all my email address's and all the
folders where I store email back to Entourage.
Someone was kind enough to inform me on how to get
them from Entourage to T'Bird but now the question is
how to get them back as I had deleted them in
Entourage once I had them in T-Bird and over time
more have been created. Any help would be greatly
appreciated.
Also, if Entourage won't automatically import the messages, there is probably an Export option on Thunderbird. I am afraid a Microsoft forum might not be much help and you may have to start with a Thunderbird forum first.

Provider won't recognize Mozilla Thunderbird

Have been using MT for 2 years and my provider went down, now I can't send or receive and I get a timed out box in the lower right corner. Stepped up the timed out from 100 to 1000, still times out. Called my provider (Charter.net) and re-opened My Charter email. Charter works fine but I don't like it as well as Mozilla Thunderbird. and I don't have my contacts in Charter. I have removed MT twice and re installed it twice. Charter says they can't help although in my mind they are to blame. Need thoughts or suggestions. Thanks Clayton

It's propably because of your profile is broken or missing or something like this.
I suggest that you should try create new profile and work on that for a while. If the problem is gone, you may move all you data to new profile =)
What you have to do is making sure that Thunderbird is not running (it's possible to have its process running even though you can't open it) you could check it in task managerin process tab.
Then click start, then run (or just type on search box in Vista) "thunderbird.exe -ProfileManager" [without quote]
You will see new window--what you have to do is creating a new profile then try!

Mozilla Thunderbird and Creating Scripts

I would like to create a script for Mozilla Thunderbird. In addition to
this I would like to create scripts for software written specifically for
Monash University. I would be grateful to hear from anyone who may have

Why won't my mozilla thunderbird open

hello,
my mozilla thunderbird does not open, I've tried everythink I can think of but it just won't open, does anyone else have this problem or have any ideas on how to open it?????

You can do it in PSE, but it will be more efficient to do it in a program such as WORD or MS Publisher.
These programs have templates that correspond to the paper stock that is readily available. Use PSE to enhance any pictures, perhaps create or refine your logo, etc., then import the graphic into WORD.

Mozilla Thunderbird hangs all the time, won't download messages, won't save messages,

I have been running Mozilla Thunderbird since the beginning of the year.
I have always had problems, but it seems to be getting worse.
It won't download messages, it won't save messages at the time you send them, instead a window runs for ages saying:
"Copying messages to saved folder"
Then it says
"There was an error saving the message to sent, retry?"
You hit cancel and then it comes up with:
"The message was sent successfully, but could not be copied to your Sent folder. Would you like to return to the compose window?"
Then there is the problem of downloading messages, basically it doesn't all the time, it hangs and I have to either restart the computer or download them on my iphone.
It can take upwards of 20 minutes to download a single message.
I had a look at the "Activity Manager" and it seems frozen as well.
It also sends up the messages that the server has been disconnected or timed out.
I've had a look through the trouble shooting guide but can't seem to progress this.
Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated!
I am running the latest version, and have Windows 7, 64 bit.
I am fast of the opinion I'd better shell out some cash and get Windows Outlook as Thunderfox is a nightmare.

I have mozilla thunderbird email but I can't get any new emails.

I've had Mozilla thunderbird for quite a while and have never had any problem with my emails. however, I now can't receive any a all and the 'green bar' is just moving backwards and forwards with the message 'downloading message 1 of 30' but the emails never download. I've been in touch with EE who are my internet provider and they say I'll have to ask Thunderbird.
they've given me my IN and OUT plus IN and OUT port but I don't know what else to do.

I would like to ask a question about Icloud and Mozilla Thunderbird Notifications:
I Have setup Icloud calendars which are using the CALDAV protocol in Mozilla Thunderbird. It is currently working in the testing builds of Mozilla Thunderbird Lightning Calendar Extension.
My Question is,
When I have a calendar event that is created on either the iphone or mozilla lightning, the problem is that it is notified twice on mozilla lightning and then it is notified on the calendar on the iphone as well. They are notified at the same time great!!! two places at once.. thats cool... but...
Can I get it notify on both devices, and then dismiss it on the iphone, which is then dismissed automatically on mozilla lightning because i dismissed the notification event on the iphone and if i do the same thing on the computer..
I reported to Mozilla as being a bug.. and they couldn't help me resolve the problem because they need more info from apple...
Is there a way for this to be fixed with more information from apple..

Mozilla Thunderbird and Time Machine

I can't find anything else about it in here, but my question is-----------Does Time Machine work with Mozilla Thunderbird? I've been using it for about three months now, and today I looked in my Time Machine and I can't see where it's backing up my emails. I also have Mac Mail enabled, so I can get them there if I have to, but I prefer using T-Bird. I checked in the TM preferences, and there is nothing on the excluded list, so it's not that.

Thanks. After playing around with it for a bit, I can see that searching for anything is a real krap shoot in T-Bird. There's no way I can see to easily find much of anything unless you have the specific title or content of a message, looking for old messages. I was using Mail before, but I had a problem with it that I was unable to resolve---about every 3 months or so everything in my Inbox and Sent folder more than 3 or 4 days old would simply vanish. I was unable to just do a rebuild---it had no effect. So I would go into TM and just restore it from a day or two before it happened and then put the restored items back into the correct folders. It was just that after this happened 3 or 4 times I got tired of fooling around with it and started using T-Bird.
Looks like now I need to try Mac Mail again or just give up and revert to using my email accounts as webmail. I had posted another thread about the Mail problem but no one in here was able to figure it out either.

I tried to set up Mozilla Thunderbird mail for iCloud. Problem is password. When I put my iCloud password, Mozilla Thunderbird not accepted it. Why? Is any special paasword for mail?

Set mozilla thunderbird to email from iphoto?

because Mail is incompatible with my ISP--it works only if I call them up each time to change settings--a topic beyond my understanding--I cannot email photos unless I export them first, and use another program to make attachments. That is inconvenient, to say the least.
I am able to use Mozilla Thunderbird. However, I do not see a way to use Thunderbird with iPhoto. It is not listed as a choice under preferences. Is it possible to do that?

No it is not possible for you to add e-mail clients to iPhoto - but try posting your mail issue in the Tiger mail forum - http://discussions.apple.com/forum.jspa?forumID=753 - millions and millions of people are using Apple mail with thousands of ISPs - your problem can be solved and you can join them
