MQ Transport within OSB - Put to remote Q?

Hi Guys,
We're working on a project down under that is targeted at an environment that makes heavy use of IBM's MQ transport.
In developing with the MQ Transport available from Oracle we've found certain limitations in it's use, specifically:
1) unable to put to a remote queue definition on the local queue manager.
2) unable to put a message to a queue existing on a remote queue manager which is defined on the local queue manager.
These examples are connecting to the local queue manager in tcp (client) mode. Putting to local queues on the local queue manager, or clustered queues visible from the local queue manager work fine.
Surely there is a way the MQ Transport within OSB can facilitate the above 2 scenarios?
FWIW, we're using Weblogic version 10.3.0.0 and OSB version 10gR3

I should further elaborate on my initial question:
On the local queue manager is a remote queue manager definition to another queue manager. Using the MQ Transport, how can I send a message to a queue that exists on that remote queue manager?
In the MQ URI string ends up looking something like mq://REMOTE_QMGER/REMOTE_QUEUE, but this format violates the MQ Transport URI field formatting.
Has anyone had any experience with this?

  • Regular expressions for file/FTP transport within OSB.  How?

The OSB transport/polling guides say for the FILE, FTP and SFTP transports that the "File Mask" can be a Regular Expression but I can't get it to pick up files this way. Is there some trick to enabling regular expression mode or some strange syntax required?
For example I set up a very simple pattern of [A-Z]+ which should match any filename with one or more uppercase alphabetic characters only, but it does not pick up anything. It seems only to support the usual wildcard * operator in the non-regular expression mode.
    Any help much appreciated.

Good point, but if you think about this description, you have to realize it just doesn't make sense. Again ...
Enter a regular expression to select the files that you want to pick from the directory. The default value is \*.*The problem is that \*.* is not a regular expression at all. :-)
    1. The documentation is a mess in this particular point.
    2. FTP servers (at least those I have experienced) don't have a support for regular expressions.
So I guess you can use only wildcards and not regular expressions with FTP transport.

  • EJB Transport in OSB 10gR3

    Hi All,
I need help on EJB transport in OSB 10gR3.
In our scenario, a proxy will poll a location for any incoming file (xml). Once any file comes, proxy service will pick that file and pass it to the business service which will call an EJB deployed on weblogic 8.15 and pass incoming file to EJB by calling it's one operation.
    My questions are -
    1. Which kind of argument can be passed to EJB in above case (means can we pass the incoming xml as String or we have to pass it as the type of root node in xml)
    2. Is there any documentation which describes the implementation of above scenario in OSB?
    Thanks & Regards,

    Bala,
the OSB Gives The JNDI Provider "ormi" does not exist.
Reference to a non-existing instance: ForeignJNDIProvider System/JNDI Providers/ormi Have you configured Foreign JNDI http://e-docs.bea.com/wls/docs103/ConsoleHelp/taskhelp/jndi/ManageForeignJNDI.html
Are you aware of this note http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E13159_01/osb/docs10gr3/ejbTransport/ejbtransport.html#wp1074283
"Although it is possible to use a WebLogic Server foreign JNDI Provider, Oracle recommends that you do not. "
Involve your Oracle Sales Representative/Support Representative to suggest this enhancement to OSB for supporting ORMI in OSB jndi provider. If you are licensed customer it becomes your right to make your suggestion known to Oracle and if you are not licensed customer then you got a valuable bargain chip :) . In either case talk to you Oracle representative to know official recommended approach from Oracle and also if enhancement can implemented or not.
Meanwhile I would suggest using IIOP/IIOPs which is supported by OSB to access EJB on your Oracle Application Server.

  • How to put a remote portlets server in maintenance mode

    Hi,
We are running Plumtree Portal 5.0.4 on Windows 2000 Server SP4. We have a remote portlets server which hosts a lot of portlets' webservices.
We need to put the remote server in maintenance mode.
How can we disable all webservices hosted by this remote server without disabling each webservices manually (which will be painful) ?
    Regards,
    Qué Son PHAM VAN

I don't want to encourage you to modify your database directly, but it seems to be the only way to do this easily. Try:
    update ptwebservices
set enabled = 0, disabledmsg = 'This portlet has been disabled. Blah blah blah.'
    where gadgetserverid = 200;
Replace 200 with the ID of your remote server.

I lost my iPad2 and through iCloud, put a remote lock on the device. I have since recovered the iPad2 and every time I open the device, when I 'Slide to Unlock' it requires the passcode to be entered. Is there a way to remove the password requirement?

Yea, just go into settings > general > passcode lock > type in your passcode > press the turn passcode off button, you will need to type your passcode one more time.

  • Holding Request within OSB 10gR3

I have a requirement where OSB 10gR3 needs to hold on to the soap request (from the consumer) under certain conditions and send to the target service (via Business Service) only when the conditions matche. I am just wondering what is the best/optimal way to achieve this within OSB 10gR3 - JMS, DB, File, any other.. but all will require some degree of coding (Java callouts).
Appreciate any inputs or experience people have encountered in the field.
    Thx.

    Hisaak,
You are correct. This is more of a BPEL use-case rather than OSB. I am trying to use the JMS persistence for storing the request and when an external event arrives in another JMS Queue, I have a Proxy (JMS) listens for the event and read all the request from the JMS queue and send to the target service.
    Eduardo,
Thanks for mentioning this. The consumers will be calling this service asynchronously (as they can't wait (and block) for the condition to be true to receive the response). Once OSB received the request from the consumers it is OSB's resposnsibility to send it successfully to target service or send notifications (emails) in case of failure. Since OSB is stateless and as I mentioned this use-case is more on the stateful side, some persistence needs to happen on the OSB as Hisaak mentioned in this earlier post.
Thanks for your input, feedback and ideas. Lets see how the design for this use-case using OSB evolve at my organization.
    Thx

Yes, this would seem the most likely reason to me.

  • FTP Transport in OSB 10gR3

    Hi,
I've just created a Business Service in OSB to send a message using the FTP transport. Although OSB connects with the FTP server but gets a 500 code response from it and the PUT command fails. This is the console output:

I belive that this response from the FTP server means that a reconnection to a higher port is required. Anyone knows if this functionality is managed by the FTP transport implementation used by OSB10gR3?
    Thanks

Your response was helpful but being new to OSB I'm still not quite there because I want to pass a "variable" to the file name. This all works but in the message flow I for the proxy I can't seem to get access to a user defined property which contains the filename which I could then pull out and stuff into the "filename" header as suggested above.
Doe anyone have any ideas how I can get access to a filename property from a JMS message? From what i understand
    JMSQ--- JMS PRoxy (MFL)----Pipeline ----->BS (MFL/FTP)---FTP server
So you would like to set the filename that is contained the JMS message custom headers?. While creating your JMS Proxy you have to follow these steps
    1) While creating JMS Proxy in Transport Configuration page select Get All Headers =Yes
    2) If file name is set as user defined property in JMS message then use $Header in you pipeline/message flow. This variable will hold your user defined properties. If the user defined property is part of JMS message then use $body.

  • Specifying the filename for outbound FTP transport in OSB

I want an OSB based service that will send via FTP a file with a specific name to a remote ftp location.
It appears OSB can't do this because the FTP transport on a business service only allows you to specify the prefix and suffix and then generates a big long file name for the midlle parts.
Does someone know how to override this and specify the name that you want teh remote file name to be called?

  • OSB Proxy Service remote Endpoint URI

    Hi,
I have configured a new Proxy Service in OSB where the endpoint URI points to a JMS Queue on a remote Weblogic Server. But when I look at the OSB server's log, it is showing the following WARNING message: *'Please ensure the destination is available at the JNDI name QUEUE_JNDI_NAME.'*. Is there any other information that the OSB Server requires in order to consume messages from a remote server's queue other that its endpoint URI?
Thanks in advance for any advise on this.

The problem was that the endpoint URI had two ip:port endpoints (i.e. jms://192.168.1.1:7001,192.168.1.1:7003/...) and the 2nd ip:port endpoint didn't have any information about the queue. So for now, I've removed the 2nd ip:port from the URI and will include it again once the admin for that server sets up the queue within it correctly.
    Cheers.

  • WEBSITE NOT REFLECTING EDITS OF HTML FILE THAT WAYS SUCCESSFULLY "PUT" TO REMOTE SERVER

Help!  I'm hoping there is a simple reason why I can't get my simple edits to reflect on the website. Here is what I have done/tried:
    1. opened and added one simple line of text (with one link to a pdf) to one page of the pre-exisitng site.
    2. checked both properties and code to make sure everything matched the preceding, similar line of text
    3. connected successfully to remote site through dreamweaver
    4. tried both "putting" and synchronizing the file (along with dependent files)
    5. the first time I did this I got the message that "no syncronization info is available" from  the remote site
    6. clicked ok (after going back and  unchecking "maintain synchronization information," and making sure there were no sync files in the _name folders)
    7. it took a long time to upload all of the files from the local site.  when it finished, the log stated that everything put successfully, but the website
    doesn't look any different.
Our root folder is saved on our server.  We just recently changed web host providers.
Also, for each webpage, there are two html files (one general and then one with a 1, 2 or 3 column descriptor).  I edited and put both to the site, but is there
something I should know about these two files?
??  I just need to make some really simple edits and I don't understand why they are not showing up!!??
Any help would be deeply appreciated!!!
    Thanks, Jessica

I followed your instructions and was able to see the dummy page in the browser.  (no file not found error)
    OK - that's good.
I only have one site defined (should I have two - one for local and one for remote?)
Well, one site definition has the ability to contain local and multiple remote site specifications.  Under the basic Site category in the Site definition, you will see the path to the local root folder.  Under the Servers category, you will see each server that has been defined - usually a Remote server (that would be your web hosting account) and a Testing server (if you are coding a site with server scripting).  It's normally the case, with a simple, static HTML site, to have just Local and Remote details in your site definition.
I called our host (Go Daddy) to ask what the name of the root directory was and they instructed me to just leave that blank. so right now it just appears as \
Actually, it should be either blank or "/" (the regular slash).
If you are able to see the dummy file that you browsed to but still do not see changes made to other files, then it must be that the host is caching files on your site.  You would have to ask them that question.  Otherwise, you should see changes that have been uploaded immediately.

    Hi Manoj,
It may be an issue with Known_hosts file. Make sure that it is properly formed and it has no space/newline character at the starting of the file.

  • Firefox won't display changes to site after putting to remote host; refresh doesn't work

I recently had to reinstall Windows 7 on my machine, and since it was wiped clean I installed CS5, reconfigured my Dreamweaver site, and made changes to our index.html page (so far).  After putting the files to my remote server, I noticed that Firefox does not display the changes I made to that file - it is showing the page last saved on my CS4 version.  Figuring this was a cache problem, I emptied it, refreshed/reloaded several times, restarted Firefox - nothing worked.
I checked the page in IE8 and all the changes appear correctly.  I used BrowserLab to preview in IE, Firefox (same version 3.6 that I use) and Safari, and all 3 display correctly the updated version of the page.  Viewing in "live" Firefox seems to be the problem, and I've searched everywhere for answers. Help is needed and appreciated!

    Some things to try:
    1) In Firefox > Tools > Clear recent history.
    2) Try adding a last modified meta tag to your index page.
    <meta http-equiv="Last-Modified" content="07 February, 2011  at 16:43:39" />
    3) Use an anonymous proxy
