MRP: Firm Orders and Time Fence Control

Hi,
We have a business requirement where we have Firm Purchase Orders and WIP jobs outside the planning time fence (PTF). We then have new demand for the item coming from SO. When we run MRP, the system is extending the planning time fence up to the Need by date of the latest PO so this means there will be no stock to cover the new demand and we are in backorder!
Example:
Item: ABC
Item Leadtime: 5 days
PTF: 5 days
Sysdate : 09-Feb-2009
Firm Purchase Order: 20-Mar-2009 (outside the PTF for the item)
WIP job demand: 20-Mar-2009
New SO 5000001252 with schedule ship date 17-Feb-2009
To cover the demand for SO 5000001252 MRP is suggesting a new planned order for 20-Mar-2009.
Plan option:
Profile MRP:Firm Planned Order Time Fence = No
Overwrite = None
Append Planned Orders = Yes
Planning Time Fence Control = Yes
Has anybody come across this scenario? How can we force MRP to suggest a Planned Order for the 17-Feb-2009?
thanks

Many thanks for the quick reply!
We have MRP:Create Time fence = Yes
We want time fence except for firm orders. My understanding from reading the documentation is Firm orders are those MRP will not touch. There is no mention of extending the PTF. Basically in our business we are trying to peg a PO to a WIP. Is there another way of achieving this?
Once again thanks and I will do some tests by setting MRP:Create Time fence = No

    Hi
I guess planning is creating time fence on its own called the natrual time fence. It would take the firm supply and create a timefence based on its date until creating new pl order within that period.
Please set profile MRP:Create Time fence to No and recheck

  • Microsoft Date and Time Picker Control 6.0 (SP6) errors

One of our functioning VBA projects in Outlook 2010, running under Windows 7 Professional (64-bit), unexpectedly stopped functioning a few months ago. When running the VBA macro we started receiving the compile error message:
"Object library invalid or contains references to object definitions that could not be found"
PROBLEM FORM CONTROL:  The message was extremely frustrating because it gave no detailed indication of the source of the problem.  With a little research, however, we found that the
Microsoft Date and Time Picker Control 6.0 (SP6), on a userform accessed by the macro, was generating the error.  A number of older articles, such as the one included below, indicated that we needed
to re-register the MSCOMCT2.OCX form control, which we did successfully (as did the original author in his question link below).  Unfortunately, as the original author found, simply re-registering the form control did not resolve the problem.
    UNRESOLVED QUESTIONS:
    1. Does anyone know why this functioning control would unexpectedly cease to function?
    2. Can anyone help us restore the functionality of the 'Microsoft Date and Time Picker Control 6.0 (SP6)'?
    3. How come the form control is listed in the object library, is available in the 'Additional Controls' dialog, and can be inserted into a form, without any indication that it is broken?
SUPPORT ENGINEER RUN-AROUND:  Another frustration is that a responding support engineer, in the prior article, keeps referring the author back to this forum, yet the question is apparently never answered back here in
the TechNet forum (which ironically refers us back to the original article in the other forum - a game of musical chairs!).
We suspect that the solution to this problem may be similar to resolving this issue for other similar form controls in other Office 2010 application, not just Outlook.  After several years, and a myriad questions on the internet regarding
this exact subject, is there someone who can definitively resolve this issue with this control?
    Thank you for any help.

    Hi,
Would you like to tell me your Excel version number (Go to Account>About Excel). I tested in my version :15.0.4569.1504 and the Date and Time Picker Control 6.0 still could be used.
Then,>> My PC is 64 bit.  I believe my version of Office is also 64 bit.<<  Office 2013 32 bit also could be installed in 64bit operation system. We could check it with Account>About Excel.

I recommend we recreate a new blank Excel file and insert the Date and Time Picker Control 6.0 to test.

  • Microsoft Date and Time Picker Control 6.0 - Need help!

I am working on a form in Office 365 Excel 2013 that uses the Microsoft Date and Time Picker Control 6.0.  When I set the form up last week, this Active X control was working perfectly.  The weekend goes by...and now it's not working at all?
My PC is 64 bit.  I believe my version of Office is also 64 bit.  When I researched this issue online, I found lots of people who indicated that this control was missing in their development kit.  It was and has always been available in mine
(i.e. I didn't have to load an MSCOMCT2 file).  Further, this control WAS WORKING when I created it last week.  Now it is not, even though no changes have been made to it.  I can place the control on the sheet and even set properties for it.
But once I click out of Design Mode, it is not functioning.  It doesn't open or respond to any clicks on it.
Can anyone help me identify a reason why it may have suddenly stopped working?  I don't think it is macro-related because I have a 'Clear Form' button on the same page and it works just fine.
UPDATE:  I've noticed something else peculiar but relevant.  My office 365 just did some updates.  When updates were completed, it auto-reopened my file.  I noticed that the Date/Time Picker button looked funny (really pixelated).
So I hit 'Design Mode' and resized it.  After I exited 'Design Mode,' it started working again.  I tested it, along with my 'Clear Form' button multiple times.  It seemed to be working fine.  I closed the document and reopened it.
Enabled Macros.  When I tried to use it after reopen, it doesn't work again.  Won't respond to ANY attempts to click on it. I can click on 'Design Mode' and it sees the control, edits properties, etc.  But when you click out of 'Design Mode,'
it's a dead button again.  I also went to someone else's desk to test this form.  Same problem.  Date/Time picker button doesn't work, even after enabling macros.  The Clear Form Button has no problems though.
    Thanks!

  • 051 routine between sales order and delivery copy control

    Hi,
The copy control routine 051 in copy control from sales order to delivery defines four combination criteria.
    1) delivery types same in config of sales doc type
    2) sales org same of the sales orders
    3) delivery indicator same
    4) billing type same as defined in sales doc type.
my question is if i have the follwoing copy control defined between sales order and delivery :-
sales       del           sales       deliv         bill      routine
order        type         org        agreement       type     in copy ctrl
    type
    ZOR          ZLF          1000         SAME          ZF2         051
    ZTSD          ZLF          1000         SAME          ZF2         051
my question is how will the routine combine  all the sales doc type into a single delivery.  my confusion is since the rotuine is attached to every combination of sales doc type and delivery type in copy control, how will the routine identify that it has to combine the sales doc type ZOR and ZSTD into a single delivery.
one of the statements wriiten in routine 051 is that " check sales org is same for all document ". does this mean that the routine will identify sales orders with doc type ZOR only  if the routine is attached in config for copy contol between zor and zlf and  i remove the routine for copy control belwteen zstd and zlf.
    regards
    sachin

Sales order is the order from your customer and delivery is when you are delivering the item.
Shipping: In general  when the item is dispached from the warehouse, we can say the item is shipped, where as delivery is item/product reaching to the end customer.
    Hope it helps,

  • MRP - Sales order and customer fields grey-out

    Hi there,
The Sales order and customer fields are grey-out for all MRP generated production orders. Can the SAP programmers please get this fixed? It should either read in the sales order number and the customer number or allow user to type in the sales order, just like the manually created production order.
    cheers

    Hello Gordon,
If production is make-to-order rather than make-to-stock, the MRP should read in the sales order number and the customer, since it is specific to the sales order. Even for make-to-stock production, where it cannot read in the specific sales order number, it should at least not grey out the field, don't you think so? By greying out the field, users are not allowed to type in the sales order number even when the production order directly relates to a particular sales order. As such, we are not able to link it back to the sales order where other info such as customer's purchase order, etc... can be found.
Could you please advise alternative way of linking MRP generated production orders to the sales orders? thanks

  • Date selection will not print properly when using Microsoft Date and Time Picker Control 6.0 in Excel 2010

I have created a field input worksheet in which the user identifies start and end dates for training sessions, using the Date and Time Picker Active X Control.  It works fine on-screen, but when the worksheets are printed, the dates that were selected
using the date picker calendar print out in an unreadable, huge font.  The large font also appears in the print preview mode.  I've tried modifying various properties in design mode, but nothing that I have tried will correct the problem.
    Any ideas?

The DTPicker seems to have some bugs in it when used on a worksheet. I have overcome the above by setting the size properties to the same size as a cell and the Linked cell property to the
cell under the DTPicker. (Even setting the Linked cell had problems with an error message referring to the Check box property to be set to true so I just set it to true and inserted the linked cell and set the checkbox property back to
    false.)
Then the VBA code below that Hides the DTPicker after a date is selected and unhides the DTPicker when the linked cell with the date is selected. The code is for 2 DTPickers so you will need to edit to suit your requirements.
Caveat: If the DTPicker is visible then you can't hide it by selecting the same date again. If this occurs then it is a multi step operation. First select another date and the DTPicker will hide, then click on another cell then back on the cell with
the date to unhide the DTPicker and then select the correct date.
Hope it helps and feel free to get back to me with any questions etc.
    Private Sub DTPicker1_Change()
        Me.DTPicker1.Visible = False
    End Sub
    Private Sub DTPicker2_Change()

  • Parental access and Time usage control

    Hi,
My son has a iPhone4 iOS 8, I try to keep it upgraded. It was mine.
    I've turned on Restrictions.
I've activated parental control on my internet access.
But I have no control on usage of the iPhone (access history, time etc..) It seems that it use it always by night.
I've tried to have it on the kitchen all night, without success in fact.
My son has locked the iphone with long password, so it's not easy to upgrade it for the moment. I need him to open it.
Do you think it's possible to develop that we have a "parental" password to access to apple phones... Like administrator session on Mac.
Or is it possible to have a bypass password for "Locate your iphone".
'Cause I can connect it to iTunes,
What about He take mine and put a password, because I do not have one... and therefore I can't access to my own iPhone ?
Could we unlock from iTunes or Locator ? Thx in advance
And Do you know some apps that can lock access to iPhone by time for example : no access from 9PM to 6AM ?
    Thx for your help.

It is possible to setup time limits for Internet usage by turning Safari to OFF in the Restrictions, and setting up a Safe Browser with parental controls like the one from Mobicip. Once you do that, you have complete control over the content allowed by the browser, what time it is allowed or blocked, etc. For step-by-step instructions, follow the tutorials below:
How To Setup Parental Controls On iPhone & iPod Touch
How To Setup Internet Access Time Limits Using Mobicip
How To Customize Your Internet Using Mobicip Premium
If setup correctly, it is possible to create a safe internet experience on the device and maintain a reasonable level of control on the usage. Mobicip allows you to manage the account remote by logging in at mobicip.com or using a Parent app (available on the App Store).

  • Firmed planning time fence

    Hi gurus,
My business scenario is to firm my planning shop flloor during 60 days.
To do it I used the planning Type P1. So If there is a requirement during these 60 days the planned orders is proposed at the end of this time fence. But this is the requirement date that is defined out the time fence. I have to begin the production (and so change the shop floor planning) during my firmed time fence of 60 days to respect the planning proposed by MRP.
Is it possible to achieve my scenario ?
    Thanks.

    Hello Laurent,
If I've well understood what you want :
you would keep normal run of P1 for any planned orders which cover a requirement inside the planning time fence, and in the same time, you would get new proposals from the MRP in the planning time fence if the requirement date is outside the planning time fence.
In this case, it seems me to be a bit difficult.
The planning time fence is done to take in account the procurement proposal and not the requirement level. Basically, it's firmed the production plan in a defined horizon whatever the requirements could be.
In anyway, we could imagine a specific program which runs after the MRP with these internal steps:
. selection of the planned orders which have been rejected outside the planning fence,
. filtering the selection against the requirement date (keep the date outside the planning time fence),
. changing the start date of each good planned order and firming it ( & setting an opération code ).
In my opinion, technically speaking, the bolt-on is very simple but the impacts on the MRP process has to be evaluate for the final users (understanding and maintenance). Moreover, there is the difficulty to determine the requirement origin in some context.
    I hope to be helpfull,
    With regards,

  • Internal Transfer, BOD, Planning Time Fence and ASCP Reschedule suggestion

    Hi,
we've an ASCP plan with 5 ORG. We've many items with BOD like this one:
    BOD of ITEM X:
    ORG 1 BUY
ORG 2 TRANSFER FROM ORG 1
ORG 3 TRANSFER FROM ORG 1
Using this rule, we set PLANNING TIME FENCE for Buy items, at about 0,7 * LEAD TIME (from the approved supplier list) in BUY ORG (S01 in this example)
and PLANNING TIME FENCE = 0 in TRANSFER ORGANIZATION.
Sometimes, we release Internal Requisition to transfer item in excess from other organization to organization S01 to avoid Purchase Order not needed. In this case, the plan will suggest to reschedule OUT the internal requisition and if the planning time fence is large, people at the internal shipping department, will not see this Internal Req because they work in short range date.
Furthermore the ASCP plan will reschedule out all the Discrete job and planned order pegged to this suply.
This problem originate because we implement the reschedule out suggestion from ASCP over internal req ( we've a custom for this). How can ve avoid the Plan suggest to reschedule out this Internal Req? Maybe we can use the Profile "FIRM INTERNAL REQ INSIDE PLANNING TIME FENCE?".
Someone know if there are other ways?
    Thanks in Adnvance.
    Giacomo

    Giacomo,
Usually, clients use "MRP: Firm Internal Req Transferred to OE" to keep internal requisitions from being rescheduled by ASCP. This would mean that any IR that has created an ISO would be treated as frim by ASCP. The intent is that since standard ASCP cannot reachedule ISO/IR orders, that you prevent these reschedule recommendations.
Since you have intentionally implemented a customization to cancel/reschedule these orders, this may not work for you.
The other profile option that you suggested; "MSO: Firm Requisitions Within Time Fence" was intended for purchase requisitions. It may work for internal requisitions, but you'll have to test. If it did, it would only work for the organization that is recieving the IR. You had set the PTF to zero (0) in that organization.
I suggest you try the combination of this last profile option with a PTF value that you do not want to see any reschedules.

    Kevin

  • Firm Planned Order and receipt.

    Dear Master,
Here i am working on LTP or PP-PI industry but i am enable to understand meaning of Firmed Planned order and
Frim Receipt pl tel me some differeinated point with sutiable example? also tel what is purpose of both.I want exact concept
of frimed planned order and firm receipt. Pl give me your feedback early.
    Regards
    Ravi

    Dear ,
Firmed Planned Order : It is used when you don't want certain planned orders to change during subsequent MRP runs.
Say today you have created certain palnned orders. In a normal scenario, when you do the MRP run again, the planned order may get changed if the requirements have changed. However as a normal business practice, it is not desired to change the production plans everytime there is a change in the requirement...especially in the immediate future (maybe a week or so).
We set this as the planning time fence depending on the MRP type settimg in the material master, you may have firm orders.
Apart from MPS items, MRP will also generate firm planned orders for materials with MRP type P1 to P4. In addition to the above, any planned order that is manually changed is also firmed.
Look in to Check MRP Type  in SPRO-MRP-Firming Indicator  and press F1.
Firmed Reciept : Purchase Order , STOs, Production Order which are reciept element and adding stock to existing stock -unrestricted .
Hope this  gives you some idea
    Regards

  • Firming logic of planning time fence

    Hello PP experts,
I have a question about the firmming logic of planning time fence, based on the test of mine, the firmming date will consider the available date.
For an example, GR processing time = 10 days, MRP type = P1, planning time fence = 5 dyas, today is Mar.10, and after the MRP run, if a schedule line GR date is Mar. 12, but the AV date is on Mar.22, then this schedule line will not be firmed, cause it considers the AV date.
So my question is , can I firm the schedule line according to the GR date but not AV?
Further more, why I use the GR processing time, because it can distingush the delivery date and the arriving date, since this purchasing part is an Ex-work part. Our user wants to know what is the date user pick-up the goods from the port. Useing GR processing time can display the pick-up date. Even though the GR time is a plant internal disposing time. So if anyone has a good idea that where can I put the transportation time in order to let the MRP run can consider the time difference, that will be better.

For the planning run, the firming type determines how procurement proposals are firmed and scheduled within the planning time fence. There are the following firming types:
    Hi,
It depends on the MRP type selected. and the Firming type maintained in the MRP type.
    If the Firming type is
    0
Procurement proposals are not firmed automatically. No firming takes place with this firming type.
    1
Procurement proposals within the planning time fence are firmed automatically as soon as their date is at least one day before the end date of the planning time fence. The date of new procurement proposals created in the planning time fence is moved to the end date of the planning time fence. As a result, these new procurement proposals are not firmed.
    2
Procurement proposals within the planning time fence are firmed automatically as soon as their date is at least one day before the end date of the planning time fence. No new procurement proposals are created automatically within the planning time fence; that is, the shortage situation is not adjusted within the planning time fence.
    3
Procurement proposals within the planning time fence are not firmed automatically. All procurement proposals required to cover the requirements are moved to the end of the planning time fence.
    4
No procurement proposals are created automatically within the planning time fence; that is, the shortage situation is not adjusted within the planning time fence.
    Hope it is clear

  • Delete planned order and pr's

Hi, pls advise how to delete system generated (mrp) planned orders and pr's? incase the sales order is cancelled, we need to cancel those planned order or pr's generated earlier. pls advise how to delete the same.

    Hi,
If the supply proposals are not firmed, then the next MRP run at plant level will clear all the planned orders / purchase requisitions which are not needed.
Planning mode with 1 should be more than enough to take care of that.
    Regards,
    Vivek
