MS-ISA proxy authentication to portal/j2ee

Hi All,
I've set up the login module to used basic and thats working fine and we have the ISA box passing a basic auth, but its putting domain\userid:password
is there a way in the J2EE basicauthentication module to have it strip off the "domain\" when it sees it. We've sniffed the network and if we can get either ISA not to pass the domain, or the portal to strip it we will have proxy authentication from ISA..
any ideas?

  • Bypass ISA Proxy authentication

    Hi
My environment: External users access SharePoint intranet site by entering credentials in Microsoft ISA server login page(authenticate to ISA server then accessing all sharepoint sites).
one client wants to access sharepoint intranet without ISA authentication. Is there any way to access SharePoint intranet site(https://domainname/sites/site1) from internet without ISA authentication.I mean bypass ISA proxy authentication for this particular
    SharePoint site(https://domainname/sites/site1)
SharePoint site(https://domainname/site/site1) is enabled with anonymous authentication.
    Thanks for any help.

Your client can edit his hostfile.
    C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts
Here you specify the IP-Adress of your particular SP server and your URL.

  • Safari crashes behind Microsoft ISA proxy \ Authenticating to MS services

I recently updated to Leopard but I'm experiencing multiple issues with Safari. Whenever I'm at the office Safari crashes repetitively whenever I try to access a site requiring authentication (mainly Microsoft based). at the office .
This issue started after upgrading (thus not a clean install) to Leopard. Only happens in Safari (firefox no problem).
This only happens when I'm in the office where I connect via a Microsoft ISA server. On the same machine with 10.4 I never once had this issue.
One note is that since the upgrade to Leopard, authentication with ISA server does not work in the traditional way of domain\username (as it did before and should also now), but requires that I omit the domain name, this may be a clue to the cause? My Laptop is not part of any Windows domain I use a different user locally than to access any online services.
I cannot upload crash details via the crash reporter (might be blocked on the proxy server)
I would like to hear any suggestions.
    Thanks
    DT

I've had this problem logged as a bug on Radar since September (yes before Leopard shipped). The bug report was closed as a duplicate but I got it re-opened when 10.5.1 shipped and it was still present. It used to be just https access that caused Omniweb and Safari to crash when I authenticated to the ISA proxy in work.
After applying the latest updates (Security Update 2007-009 and Quicktime Broadcaster 1.5.2) any app that uses the proxy crashes. So http web access as well as https access not cause a crash. The Omni update check app crashes and takes the app in question with it when you launch it. Software update crashes. So do others but I forget the details.
This only happens at work. Fine on other networks. If I browse on the same machine using IE under Windows XP in a Parallels VM using Shared networking there are no problems. This is a Leopard problem . Didn't happen under Tiger.
    Not good.
    This is not good.

  • Passing neotaris authentication to portal(j2ee)

Has anyone implemented an external portal using a Neoteris(now owned by Juniper networks) authentication host to handle SecureID credentials and then pass them into the portal so there would not have to be a 2nd login?
Our corporate VPN access method for employees is to first authenticate through this mechanism then they get a basic HTML page of links to resources.  I would like to provide a link to our EP6, but avoid having a 2nd login requirement.  The Neoteris gets its account info from an Win2003 active directory, so I'm thinking we can somehow pass this over.  Any thoughts?

    Hi,
Have you accomplished this?? Did you write your own JAAS module?
I have a similar requirement but in my case both the systems are in different networks(Actually first system can communicate with second one in VPN fashion). Is this possible in this case also?
If so can you please guide me to any good material you have gone through because i am new to JAAS modules.

    Hi,
I have problem when I try to use a service proxy hosted in my OSB, I get the error:
*"Proxy Authentication Requiered (The ISA Server requieres authorization to fullfill the request. Access to the Web Proxy filter is denied)"*
    thanks for your attention
    Greetings

Looks like the underlying service is looking for some credentials so that it will provide response message. There are various ways you can send credentials in your request.
Find out what kind of credentails it requires ?

    Hello,
because you say that your Account is domainname\username I think that the Proxy is a Microsoft ISA Server. So I also think that the server uses NTLM authentication. I think you should ask the ISA Administrator to provide unrestricted Access to the Internet for the IP of the Portal server without authentication.

  • Invalid Response Code: (407) Proxy Authentication Required

    Hi all,
I have created a EJB that will access an external webservice to receive data and will display it in a jsp. But when i call it, i get the folllowing error-
com.sap.engine.services.webservices.jaxrpc.exceptions.InvalidResponseCodeExcpetion: Invalid Response Code: (407) Proxy
Authentication Required (The ISA Server requires authorization to fulfill the request. Access to the Web Proxy is denied)
I have already set the proxy user name and password in <i>visual admin</i> under <i>destinations</i> and also under <i>Web Services Container->Runtime->Settings</i>. Still i get this error. I checked a couple of threads here, that answer to my problem, but none helped! Am i missing something?
    Thanks in advance,
    Swarna

    Hi Swarna
What is the patch level that you are running on?
May be the "auth-scheme" element required by the HTTP specification is missing in the "Proxy-Authorization" HTTP header.
I think that the solution is there in the new support packages or the patch update.
Please check out the latest support packages and apply them.
    This should solve your problem.

  • Webfonts are not loading for certain sites (407 Proxy Authentication Required)

    Hello,
I'm running into an issue with CSS web fonts: They often don't load.
This happens in both FF4RC and the latest FF3.6. I'm behind a proxy (an ISA server I believe), and everything is set up correctly (as far as I can tell) in about:config.
Today I tried the [https://mozillademos.org/demos/runfield/demo.html Runfield demo]. Everything except the fonts (using google fonts api) loads and the game runs fine. Other browsers load the page (including fonts) without any problems.
A quick look in Firebug reveals that the proxy is returning "407 Proxy Authentication Required", but only for the font files. Everything else on the page is loaded correctly. Again, other browsers on the same machine (e.g. Chrome, IE9, Opera 11) load the font files without issue.
What's more, if I grab the URL and load it directly, it works fine, downloading the .woff file without issue.
This happens with the Google Fonts API, but I'm also seeing the problem on FontFonter.com and FontDeck.com.
However, Typekit.com works fine and so do the webfonts on this page.
(I've tried restarting Firefox without add-ons and it makes no difference.)
Thanks in advance for any pointers.

    A-ha! It seems to be a bug! [https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=627616 #627616]

  • Deployable Proxy Called From Portal

I've created and deployed a proxy on my portal application server.  Then, from a portal service, I successfully look it up and invoke it.  However, I'm getting a class loader error on the com.sap.engine.lib.xml.parser.tokenizer.XMLTokenWriter class.
I've added a sharing reference to my deployed J2EE component, and I know this is working because I can look up the proxy.  What is strange is that this was working okay yesterday.  It seems some class loading issue has come up since then.
Can anyone give me a pointer here?

    Hi Mike:
I am facing the same problem, my project can't fine class XMLTokenWriter.
I removed the default class path and added the sapxmltoolkit.jar as external jar to my project, but the problem still exist. Could you kindly tell me more detail of your solution?
    Best regards!

  • Proxy Authentication Support

    All,
Just figured I'd share this workaround.
We've been trying to use 10.1.0.4's proxy authentication functionality with our ISA Proxy servers and it just doesn't work with ISA servers due to well...Microsoft's inability to conform to industry standards... :-/
Anyway, Came up with create and stable workaround. We stood up a copy of this:
    http://ntlmaps.sourceforge.net/
Which is basically a NTLM Authentication - Proxy Forwarder. Extremely simple Python based daemon.
Figured this might save you some trouble if you're company forces NTLM Proxy based auth to get to the net and you're wondering how to hook OEM up to Metalink.

Actually, there's quite a bit more to it than that.
proxyHost= IP address of the proxy server
proxyPort= port number of the proxy server
proxyUser= User name for proxy server authorization
proxyPwd= password for proxy server authorization
    proxyRealm= proxy server realm
proxyPropsEncrypted= flag indicating whether proxyUser and proxyPwd are encrypted values.
However, when configuring for proxy auth by specifying the realm user and pwd for the authentication user, it doesn't work with an Microsoft ISA Proxy despite the fact that both the ISA Proxy is configured for basic auth support and httpclient.jar supports basic auth as well.
It has "issues" in the negotiation phase. The issue's being worked with Oracle Development. Hence, the reason for my original post. Those who run into the problem will appreciate finding a solution in the search engine. :)
