MS Office 2010 standard is not Activated...

After two years of use this product suddenly giving the error message...
error code 0x8007007B

Hi,
How did you activate Office originally? By a product key or it's activated via Volume license?
We can narrow down this issue in two aspects. One is the software issue, including the factors in the system environment, the other is the licensing status.
First, please try to repair Office from Control Panel -> Programs and Features, check if this helps.
Sometimes we need to run the System File Checker to scan all protected system files and replace the incorrect versions with the correct Microsoft versions, for a Windows 7 PC:
Click Start > All Programs >
Accessories, and then right-click Command Prompt and choose
Run as administrator.
In the command prompt, type sfc /scannow and press Enter.
When the system scan is complete, try to install Office again.
If after the steps above the issue persists, I suggest you contact the customer service to check your licensing status:

  • Office 2010 Standard & Professional Plus mixed

Hi, I have a question about virtualizing Office 2010.
Right now we're running Office 2010 Pro Plus for all users which is locally installed.
Management asked me to downgrade to Office 2010 Standard to save on license costs. However, some people still need Microsoft Access 2010 so they will still require the Pro Plus edition.
Management told me MS is about to change its license policy, if Pro Plus is installed and users use only Word & Excel, they still have to pay for a pro plus license. I don't know whether this is true or not (it seems weird to me) it's just what they
told me which is why they wanna downgrade.
So the idea is to offer Office 2010 Standard locally installed to all users, and use a custom Office 2010 Pro Plus installation with only Access 2010 virtualized and offer that to specific users.
Are there any technical or license-technical limitations that would prevent this?
I appriciate your help. Thanks in advance.
    Rgds,
    Martijn.

From my perspective, the only valid solution from a licensing perspective would be to create server silos.
As Aaron pointed out, Office legally is licensed at the endpoint device (like a Linux ThinClient, iPad, PC whatever). According to the license agreements you have to make sure that the user may only connect to RDS servers that have the same version of Office
installed as it is assigned to the endpoint device.
In return, you'd have to make sure that nobody uses a 'Standard' enpoint to connect to an RDS Server where Pro (or: Access separately) is available.
There seem to be some exceptions in conjunction with 3rd party lock-down software. Appsense claims that you are allowed to use such a scenario, when you use their Application Manager product to ensure that only licensed application launches are permitted
(The say they have a validation by MS).
However, I'm not aware of such a validation for Microsoft's own products (neither App-V nor AppLocker).
Technically, your aim wouldn't be easy to achieve, too: To use virtualized Office 2007+ applications, the OfficeDeploymentKit has to be installed locally on the RDS server, and it has to get a list of to-license products. Effectively it manipulates that
    machine's Office Activation subsystem.
You cannot mix OfficeStandard and Pro in one DeploymentKit configuration (you may be able to combine Standard+Access, as you also can add Visio or Project to the config). Either way the RDS server would report Office Standard or Pro and/or Access license
    usage to the KMS/MAK server.

  • Upgrade Office 2010 Standard to Office 2010 Pro Plus using Config.xml

    Hello,
I am upgrading Office 2010 Standard to Office 2010 Pro Plus. But after using the below config  pro plus did get installed but both versions of Office 2010 ( Stand and Plus ) show up on the machines. I want only Office Pro plus to appear.
The second issue is that even after uninstalling  Office 2010 Standard from the Control panel the Office shows activation of both ( Going to --File ---Help)
How can I edit this config.xml to remove office 2010 Standard first and then upgrade to Office 2010 Pro Plus?

    Hi,
Here is not a Config.xml solution, but we can use it as a workaround, basically automate the uninstallation of Office 2010, reboot the computer and then deploy Office 2010. You may find the following article useful if you need more info on that.

  • Office 2010 standard and MS Project office365 pro install

    Dear all
    I have a laptop with Win7 ent 64bit
    and office 2010 standard edition.
I bought the online subscription of Project Pro for Office 365
i am able to download the installer
start the installer but the installation is not possible, i got the message that I have the beta version etc whcih is not true.
I found few fix advices like
    1. making the fix option for the office 2010 package.
    2. applied special FIX it patch
    and still the same
    can you please advice ?

What version of Office 2010 do you have installed?  32 or 64 bit?  You must install the same version (x86 or 64bit) as the version of Office - even though you have the 64 bit version of Windows 7.

  • Does Office 2010 Standard supports IRM ?

    I need a clarification.
Technet says we can't use IRM with Office 2010 Standard. But I am able to open IRM mails from Standard Edition, though i am not able to compose new mails / protect new docs.
Does technet means Office 2010 Standard supports only reading IRM protected mails/docs, but not protecting mails/docs ? If it is so, can i go ahead and purchase Office 2010 Standard instead of Pro Plus ? Is that legally right ?
    Regards.

    Hi,
Yes. Office 2010 Standard has a limited IRM feature which you mentioned.
If you want to replace the product, it would be better to call Microsoft for help.

  • I need report about office 2010 licensed or not

    hi,
I need to make report about microsoft office 2010 licensed, activated or not on all pc's, how can i generate it or make my custom collection and query ?
    any help !!
    Ahmed Sherif

One of doing this would be to use Compliance Settings.
    With the information found here:
    http://blogs.technet.com/b/odsupport/archive/2010/08/11/how-to-check-the-activation-type-and-status-of-office-2010-installations.aspx
You could create a script that you combine with Compliance Settings and use the information returned by Compliance Settings (Compliant or Non-compliant) to create a Query or a report.
You might have a look at Asset Intelligence classes i.e SoftwareLicensing,
or a third option could be to see whether the information exits in WMI (I have never looked for it myself)

  • Office 2010 standard attachment issue

    Hi All,
We have encounter an attachment issue when we upgraded the MS office from Office XP to Office 2010. When we attach 2 or more attachments (I tried .PDF or .JPG). Office application will not response and the outlook trace icon will appear "Outlook is
retrieve data from exchange server". The attachment will appear at the message after 5-10 mins (The longest time was ~45mins to attach a 1MB .pdf).
I also tried to disable the outlook add-ins and run as safe mode (run outlook /safe). But the problem still exist.
Our exchange server is running at version 6.5.7638.1
    Best Regards,
    Samuel Chu

    Hi,
The "retrieve data" popups are usually an indication that the client is taking unusually long time to receive information back from the server, or contact the server. The causes for the popups are:
       - Exchange server performance problems
       - client (or add-in) problems
       - network related issues
       - large number of items in mailboxes
       - Active Directory related issues (performance issues etc)
Does this issue happen to all your clients or just a few users? If it happens to just a few users, please first make sure the mailbox size is not too large. Make sure these users don't have a large number of items in a folder. See:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/905803
If all or major of your clients are experiencing this issue, then the problem is most likely server related (or network on the server side related), I'd recommend you post a question in the Exchange forum to get further assistance:
    https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/office/en-US/home?category=exchangeserver
For more information, you can refer to this blog article:

  • Office 2010 applications frequently Not Responding

Desktop config: Windows XP SP3 + Office 2010 + SP1 activated via KMS
We seem to be getting a large number of cases where the Office 2010 application (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) locks up and just displays 'Not Responding'
The only clue we can see if that in ALL cases just before the Not Responding issue occured the following was logged in the clients event log - there are no other event logged such as application hangs.

    Max -
No offense intended, but while I agree that this could be the case, your answer is for XP and I find it lacking a good solution with a rather bland explanation.
I'm seeing this problem with Windows 7, but we are not using a KMS, however the OPPSVC does run rather frequently, as seen in the Event Logs.
When opening Word documents in Office 2010, the computer will "hang" and applications show the "Not Responding" message for several minutes before returning, if at all. It will not happen every time the application is opened, and happens regardless of whether
or not Word is already open at the time the document is opened. It almost seems as though the Office Platform Protection Service is the CAUSE of the problem, and when looking at the process in SysInternals Process Explorer, I don't see anything out of the
ordinary that would explain why the system resources are being tied up by that service, although I admit I have not been able to capture the problem when it's occurring because it happens pretty randomly.
I'm less convinced that there is a third-party software causing the problem and more convinced that if the OPPSVC is already running, and you happen to open a document at the exact same time that the service fires off to do it's check, it enters a minor
race condition of some kind and either never responds, or takes a long time to resolve/timeout.
This issue is having a major impact during sales demonstrations that my organization does because it causes the entire demonstration to pause or crash and is totally unacceptable. All of our licenses are in order and I can't shut off the OPPSVC to verify
if it's causing the problem because Word will not start if the service is disabled.
A better solution would be much appreciated.

  • Rearming Office 2010, the CMID not changing

    Hi
I use MDT to deploy Windows 7 images.  I have Office 2010 in the image.
    I install Windows7, Office 2010 then rearm Office 2010 using c:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\OfficeSoftwareProtectionPlatform\ospprearm.exe
which successfully completes.  I've tried with and without a administrative cmd prompt.
I then sysprep and capture the image, then deploy.
Its been working fine, but in my latest image its not longer working.  When I deploy the image, Office 2010 is activating on the KMS but running cscript C:\program files\microsoft
office\office14\ospp.vbs /DCMID on the client they have the same CMID.
I've tried rearming again on one of the new clients, and then checked the CMID and it didn't change.
    Any ideas?

    Hi
There are a number of reasons why this can occur.  For example:
Not running sysprep /generalize on your image.       Note that sysprep /generalize
is required when creating an image.  See KB162001 for more information
Running sysprep with unattend.xml that contains the      <SkipRearm> setting set to 1.  It is not recommended to create      images with this setting
but if you do use it you must set it to 0 or      remove it before you reseal the image for the final time
To determine if you are encountering this you can use the Key Management Service Log do the following:
1.On your KMS host open Event Viewer
    2. Right click the Key Management Service Log and choose “Save all events as”
    3. Change the Save as type to Text(Tab Delimited)(*.txt)
    4. Save the file as KMS.TXT
    5. Close out of the Event Viewer completely
    6. Open Excel
    7. Click File, Open, and browse to KMS.TXT
    8. You should see the Text Import Wizard. Choose the following options
        Delimited
        Start Import at Row: 8
        Delimiters: Comma
    9. When complete the data may look all messed up. Don’t worry we will correct that
    10. Click the upper left of the spreadsheet to select the entire spreadsheet
    11. Click Data, Sort, In the Sort By selection choose “Column D”
    12. When complete you should see the data sorted in columns.

  • Office 2010 User Settings NOT Migrated After Uninstall-Upgrade to 2013

    Greetings,
We are in the final stages of preparing for an enterprise rollout of Office 2013, upgrading our user base from Office 2010. When we deployed Office 2010, we used the Office scrubber tool to remove Office 2003 and install Office 2010. Employing this same
    technique, which is
fully documented by Microsoft as the recommended approach, the user settings from Office 2010 do not migrate to Office 2013. For example, the default save paths. If you set this to say, "C:\Temp", in Office 2010, that path will be changed
after upgrading to 2013. There are other settings impacted as well and hoping that someone has seen this or knows what might be going on. The method we've used during pilot is an in-place upgrade from 2010 to 2013 and that will retain settings but we also
see cases where the upgrade isn't clean and components of Office 2010 can be left behind. It is critical to a successful deployment that the uninstall-upgrade approach works flawlessly.
    Thanks,
    Doug

    Hi Jori,
There are three types of permissions in the Manage User Permissions in User Profile Service Application(UPS): Create Personal Site, Follow People and Edit Profile and Use Tags and Notes.
If all the three permissions have been revoked from the user, then the user will not existed in the Manage User Permissions in UPS.
So you don’t need to anything else to remove the users from Mange User Permission in UPS after revoking all the permissions from the user.
As for the error when accessing Mange User Permissions in UPS, I recommend to restart the User Profile Service and add the user account to the Administrators of the User Profile Service Application.
In Central Administration, highlight the User Profile Service Application and then click Administrators in the ribbon.
If above cannot work, please provide more error message for the correlation ID in ULS log for further research.
For SharePoint 2013, by default, ULS log is at C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\15\LOGS.

  • Office 2010 Tools Do Not Remove

I am upgrading office 2010 to office 2013 using the OCT setup.  I have it so that it removes all the 2010 programs. But when i run the installer, it uninstalls the programs but it keeps the office 2010 tools.  There is no setting in OCT to remove
    these files.

Thanks for sharing the info that it's actually an Enterprise-level
    deployment.
I'm not sure that if there is an .exe or script, but as an alternate workaround you can make this in two steps:
    1. Please first create an Office 2010 MSP file and make
Office Tools to Not Available under Features->Set feature installation states. And run that MSP file first in your environment to remove Office Tool from all the
    computers.
    2.  After that, please create another separate MSP file, then start upgrade Office and removes all the 2010 programs.

  • Office 2010 Language settings not taking effect

I am rolling out Windows 7 and Office 2010 to different locations around the world.
One thing I have noticed is that Office 2010 is defaulting to English (UK) in all of the offices we have around the world. I have checked the Default input language settings under Text services
and input languages and it is set correctly, i.e for the US this is set to English (United States). I have gone into word and checked File\Options\Language and under Choose editing languages the default is set to the Windows input language on the machine,
i.e for the US this is set to English US <default>. However in the bar across the bottom of Word, the language is set to English (UK) and spelling etc is all English UK. The only way I can change the language is to open a Word doc, type some characters
and then click on the English (UK) at the bottom of Word and then change is to English US. It then changes to English US at the bottom of Word, however when I close Word and open it again, the language is set back to UK.
What I am really wanting to do is control all this by Group policy so a US user gets US language in Word so they get US spellchecker and someone in the UK gets UK language in Word and UK spell
checker etc. As I said, group policy is setting the correct language for the machine, under Word the default is set to use the input language, under File\Options\Language the default editing language is set correctly (to the windows input language), but still
the language bar in Word defaults to English UK all the time.
Any help would be much appreciated.
    Thanks

Please click on the English(US) at the bottom of Word, then appear dialogue box. Set English(US) as default.
Don’t tick the checkbox of option “detect language automatically”.
As is shown in the below graph.
Restart Word and check the result. Thanks.
