MS Office Products

We are trying to roll out the Teaming software, but we are having some issues getting Office 2003, 2007, or 2010 to work. I'm not seen anything specific in Novell's docs about how to make these guys work, short of just picking them as your editor.
Has anyone else had any luck with these Office products?
Oddly enough, Open Office works like a champ.

Okay, I believe there are some issues with Windows 7. I believe these issues should be fixed or have workarounds when Teaming 3 is released after a couple of weeks.

I have other office products on here including:
    SharePoint Designer 2010
    SharePoint Designer 2013
    Microsoft PowerBI Designer Preview
and this is installed on Win 8.1 Enterprise
Kind of stumped what is causing this... I see KB2920798  mentions this error message is now added when cant open a document due to a mix of click-to-run and MSI install for office.  I only have click to run for Office 2013 and the MSIs are only for
addons in excel (power query) and the additional Microsoft Software...
Anyone have ideas what is causing this and how to resolve?
I just finished applying March 2015 C2R updated on Office and the same issue recurred.  This time I simply rebooted and it resolved.  My best guess is it has something to do with a locked file that can't be updated but the Office Update installer
    doesn't prompt to reboot.

I have the same problem. But I have Czech versions of the Word and OneDrive for Business ("OneDrive pro firmy").
I do not have the SharePoint Designer nor update KB2020798. I received KB2920746
on 11th February (plus other updates for Office, but any other for OneDrive for Business). Anyway,
uninstall of the KB2920746 doesn't help.
    The error in Czech:

  • Using MS Office Products

Every time I launch an Office product, Word, Excel, or PowerPoint, I get "Optimizing Font Menu Performance...". I do design work but only have a few fonts available at any one time. This is annoying because it can take up to a minute for one of these apps to load (on new Macs). Is there any way to disable this optimizing on start up of Office products?

Office 2004 doesn't do that on my Macs.

  • How can I organize my Microsoft Office products on my dock?

    Hello,
Does anyone know how to organize Microsoft Office products (Word, PPT, Excel) into a single fan on right side of dock? Or do the 3 Office products have to take up 3 spots on the dock?
    Thank you for any help!

Drag the Microsoft Office folder to that part of the Dock. Or create a new folder (anywhere you like), put alises to those three programs in that folder, then drag that folder to the Dock.
    Regards.

  • MS Office Products Shut Down after Installation of SP1

I initially could not install SP1 until I completely uninstalled my anti virus software.  I run Vista Home Premium on a DELL XPS M1530.  I have a cable connection though Charter and they provide a no charge subscription to their "Charter Security Suite" by F-Secure.  All 4 of the computers run the same security software and this was the first time I encountered a problem of this nature.
After SP1 installed, I downloaded and re-installed Charter Security Suite.  From that point on, I had problems with all of the MS office products, Word, Excel, Power Point and Access.  After closing any of these programs, I would get the following error messages:
    a.       “Windows Office Word [or Excel or PP or Access] has stopped working.  Windows is checking for a solution”
    b.      “Windows is attempting to recover your information”
    c.       “Windows is restarting”
    d.      “Windows Office Word [or Excel or PP or Access] has stopped working.  A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.”
With the help of a Microsoft Technician, I shut down all Services and Start Up items in MSCONFIG.  The problem disappeared.  Only after restarting the Charter Security Suite by F-Secure did the problem reoccur.  I uninstalled the security suite again and now all MS Office programs run smoothly.
Now all I have to find is a good replacement security software package to replace the F-Secure.
By the way, the people at Charter could care less about the problem.  They even told me to google free security software and install whatever I wanted.  I thanked them and hung up.

  • Microsoft Office Product Integration in GP

    Hi,
I know there is rather extensive integration possiblities avialable for Adobe Document Services (ADS) in GP. I read somewhere that it is also possible to integrate other products.
Does anyone have any experience in this area? In particular with Microsoft Office products.
    Thanks.

  • Took Quicktime Update - now Microsoft Office Products fail to start

I took the latest Quicktime 7.2 update today. Now my Microsoft applications won't start up! I use my Mac at work and without Word I'm screwed. How can I get my office products to run again? QuickTime 7.0.4 broke applications, now 7.2 is breaking them. What's the deal with QuickTime???
I'm going to have start doing the Microsoft "wait" with my Mac now. "Not take ANY updates for at least a week from release", because the updates cause more issues than the old versions. This is VERY frustrating.

OK, I'm back up and running.
Another thread had some information from bigman13 that provided a solution. It appears that most (not all) of the people having this problem had also installed Java6 beta. If you are one of those people, here is a solution that might help you. Caution - this involves performing steps from a command shell.
I think you must have a root account enabled to do this. If you don't and wish to enable it, select the "Help | Mac Help" menu item from your desktop screen and type in "root account". Select the "Enabling the root user" entry and follow those instructions.
    Steps to fix the problem:
    1) Open a Terminal window and type...
    2) su -
    3) cd /Library/Receipts/JavaSE6Release1.pkg/Contents
    4) lsbom -s -f Archive.bom > /tmp/files
    5) Now edit the /tmp/files file with a text editor and replace " " with "\ " and all "./" with "rm /" - Resave the file
    6) From the terminal again: sudo bash /tmp/files
    7) rm -r /Library/Receipts/JavaSE6Release1.pkg
    8) sudo update_prebinding
    9) I rebooted my Mac
    10) Test that Word runs again - Mine Did!
    11) I then reinstalled Java6
    Hope this helps

  • How to I enable other users on the same machine to use Office products?

My husband has the system set up so the kids accounts are secured by NetNanny.
We noticed tonight that the kids can't use Word, Excel or Powerpoint from their accounts.
You can only see it in my account.  You can't see it in my husband's Administrator account.
How do we change this?  We'd like all users to be able to use the Office products.
    Thanks,
    Vikki

I figured it out.  The other users had only read access to the programs.  Had to change it to read/write.

  • Visio professional 2013 cant install because office product key does not match

Settings: office 2007 on windows 7
I'm the IT manager for a small consulting company. We use the full microsoft stack - all paid for.
When one of the consultants needed visio we went along and bought an digital version of it.
We installed it and all was nice and dandy.
The consultant left the company, we decommissioned the visio product from his laptop which was then recomissioned to a new employee without the visio.
Another consultant is now in need of visio. When trying to install visio according to the instructions we are asked to activate the office account on this specific laptop.
We then get a message that this office Product key is activated through another Microsoft account please log out and log in with that account?
We are using the exact same procedure as when installing the visio the first time (the visio sw is not installed or used on any other machine).
We have a multi license (volume) windows and office agreement with product keys.
AND WE ARE STUCK - SPENDING MORE TIME ON THIS THAN IT WOULD ACTUALLY COST US TO BUY ANOTHER Visio license!
I've used Microsoft / windows / office throughout my career but this just is not professional!
Please help – To me this is not a support issue that I should spend support money on. We have purchased all products and we cannot get it to work.

    Hi,
From your description, you had a digital version of Visio professional 2013, it was a retail version. Please give me the whole error message when you
    activate Visio.
As far as I know, we need to uninstall Visio professional 2013 online( keep connection with internet),then we could re-install and activate it. If you uninstall
it from consultant' laptop offline, it'll store the product key in the laptop.
I recommend you activate a Microsoft product by using Microsoft Product Activation Center

  • Office product key needed

I took my 4 year old g550 laptop back to it's start this week and found that I no longer have full office access- it's the trial version and I need to put in the 25 digit key to get full access again.
Yes - I DID have the full office for 4 years in case anyone is going to tell me I only had the trial one.
Anyway, how do I find out what the key is? I didn't get a disc at the time, it was just "on" when I bought it.
    Mark

    hi markdou,
    Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!
If the computer was purchased from Lenovo together with an Office Registered,
It should come with a Key card where it list your Product key for Office.
That is the only original copy of the Office Product key and Lenovo does not have any copy of it.
was the computer purchased with office from another store or the Lenovo Website.
    Hope this helps
    Cheers!

  • Can't find 2011 Microsoft Office product key after using Time Machine

I just upgraded my macbook pro to a 512gb crucial ssd. In order for me to do this without downloading any other software off the internet, I bought an external drive and had time machine back up everything. I installed the SSD, started up the computer and had time machine do its thing and booted everything up onto the ssd. Everything went perfectly up, until I went to open up any Microsoft Office application because they required I put in the product key. The last time I put in the product key was when I first bought the macbook pro about 4 years ago(I installed everything using the disc). What I tried to do was boot the computer using the old hard drive and we have the same story.... I need a product key that I don't have. I even tried installing a product key finder and it found no Microsoft Office product key.
Tomorrow my plan is to use time machine to bring me back to the couple minutes before I setup the new SSD. Before I do that, I want to know what your opinions are on this matter or more importantly, what should I do?
    Thanks in advance.

Read the instructions that came with your PIN - they tell you how to get the Product Key from the MS Shop (I think it comes from there, anyhow!)

  • All Office products Refresh issue

    Hello,
I'm having a reoccurent problem with some of our users affecting all office products, the issue is any office application randomly would not refresh properly and parts of the window would be missing and not refeshing, e.g when in outlook, part of the application's
window would freeze while they are scrolling and they would need to minimize the program and open it again. I know it is not a hardware problem as I have thoroughly checked drivers and it is happening to different machines (even a Mac with Windows mirror),
I have tried repairing and reinistalling the office products but to no avail. This is only affecting office products.
    Thanks,
    Ash

    Hi,
This looks like an issue of your graphics driver. I understand you have already checked drivers, but please make sure your graphics driver is up to date and try again.
Some add-in conflicts might also cause this kind of issues. You might want to start Office applications in
safe mode and see if issue presists.
To open an Office documents in safe mode, just hold down the Ctrl
key and open the Office documents.
    Hope this helps.

  • How to retrieve Microsoft Office Product Key  for Mac

Hi there, Hopefully someone might have a suggestion on how to retrieve the Microsoft Office Product Key for Office 2010 on Mac.
Scenario:  Last month, Apple advised me my iMac hard drive may be faulty and would need replacing.  That was done, I restored my iMac from Timeline backup and everything is dandy except I need the Product Key for Office to access any of my documents.  I purchased the product online in my old job, that email address is now no longer valid and I have lost access to the email that the product key was emailed to me in.  I am unable to retrieve the product key from Microsoft without buying a new copy.
I do have Office uploaded on my Macbook Air from the same download/product key, so I have access to the program on the laptop but not the iMac.  Hopefully I can get the product key from the laptop somehow.
Any guidance or suggestions would be appreciated.  Thanks :-)

As Office is not an Apple product, I strongly recommend asking in the Microsoft Office:Mac forums here:
    Office for Mac forums
Everyone there is a Mac user AND an Office user, something you can't say about Apple's forums. You will get the fastest help there and I think you will find the contributors more than helpful.

My Microsoft Office products are corrupt and utility is unable to rebuild.  I have a back-up -- what can i do?

Since this question is about a Microsoft product, you might have more luck getting suggestions if you ask in Microsoft's own forums.

  • Missing MS Office Product Key

I did a factory restore on my notebook PC.  I did not record the MS Office product key because I thought it was pre-installed.  I purchased the computer in 2010 and cannot find the original CD's/manuals.  Is there a way that I can find out what the product key is?

Hi,             The Microsoft Office installed on this notebook is trial version, you can check this information from the below link. The full version of office should have been installed by store, so you have to get in touch with them as HP ships this unit with trial version of Office. http://support.hp.com/us-en/product/HP-Pavilion-dv6-Entertainment-Notebook-PC-series/4150017/model/4230503/document/c02207165/
